They have a small parking lot and the rest is street parking! The staff members here are very friendly and attentive. The food was tasty, too. The pho broth was delicious and so were the egg rolls. I didn't love the nem nuong because I found it to be too bland. Overall I would definitely come back to try their other dishes! read more

Long overdue review! Came here for breakfast shortly after they opened at 9am today. I got #45- pork chop with egg loaf and dried pork over broken rice. As well as the pho dac biet and fresh spring rolls. The broth taste clean and not too salty. I like how they don't put a load of noodles in the fresh spring rolls and more veggies instead. Short and simple. This bowl of pho is legit. There's a very balanced delicious base in the soup. You can taste all their cinnamon, star anise, cloves and bone broth. I normally get the #15 and that had everything that you want. The tripe, sliced brisket, meatballs all were cooked perfectly. I also get the #8 meatball spring rolls. My 2nd favorite thing here. But, I know it's normal, but I would recommend better customer service. Yeah, most Vietnamese restaurants are very casual and you'll have to waive down the wait staff, but many times, I just walk up and refill my own iced tea. A kick to the pho(?) I was pleasantly surprised to find the broth has a certain kick that is, at least for me, not common. It has the usual deep broth that is comforting to the bone (see what i did there?). But it also have an aromatic kick that works very well with the tender filet and rich selection of meats. Came here recently around 3-4pm weekday and dined outside. We had most of the place to ourselves with only 1-2 other small parties of 1-2 people. We went inside to order, pay, then got our receipt with assigned table #. Went outside and sat at the table with our table number. Our food was delivered to our table within 10 minutes. We ordered Pho Dac Biet with meatballs, beef rolls, and Thai Iced Tea. There was a lot of meat relative to noodles, just the way we like it. Not bad for pho. We enjoyed our meal. Condiments, napkins, and utensils were available at each table. The outdoor dining area is connected to side of building and their rear parking lot. Some customers walk by the outdoor dining area in order to enter the restaurant to order or pickup orders. All customers we saw wore masks so although some walked by us while we were eating, we still felt relatively safe. Felt good to be able to dine outside at a restaurant. First time trying this place, I ordered #16 xl. I don't know what their bowl size was based off on, there's a place at Chinatown served (what pf2 label as xl) as normal. But overall, its not bad. The soup is great. I can sense the spices, good thing that the spice is not overly strong. I preferred my noodles be more chewy. The noodle in my pho needs more work though. The noodle breaks apart easily, it felts like cheap, dry type of pho noodles. The noodles doesn't seem to absorb enough to have flavor. Hope it makes sense. The bean sprouts doesn't look fresh. Basil isn't that great either. I had better. But overall, the pho here is not bad. No finger on the inner part of the bowl that touches the soup, so I appreciated that. This place gets very crowd. You may be seated next to another party. If you're concern about people coughing. Welp, be concern lol, cause people will cough openly, and you will have to get used to it. Over a decade later, this is still the local pho restaurant to beat. My family and I still eat here religiously at least twice a month and contrary to my last review/update, I cannot for the life of me remember the last time the service was abysmal. Which is such a good sign and a testament to their growth and development as a business! All the workers who didn't seem like they wanted to be there are no longer there. Food comes out so quick. It does get very crowded sometimes, especially on weekends, but the wait is never more than a few minutes. Quantity of meat kind of fluctuates depending on the day, but quality is always steady. No other place in SGV has mastered the art of a damn good bowl of pho with rich aromatic broth and perfect noodle texture quite like this. On that note, other menu items are still average at best. My only complaint: they have a waitlist on a clipboard, but they don't honor it. Customers would write their names down, but workers end up signaling parties to tables based purely who is standing closer to the inside of the restaurant rather than reading names off the list. tl;dr: Best northern pho in SGV imo (wide noodles and ginger creates a different experience). If you never tried pho with ginger, you're missing out. It's a traditional pho restaurant. If it has great service, something is off. If there's no complimentary hot tea, it's not traditional enough. If the staff only speaks Vietnamese to each other, you know you are in for a treat. This is my favorite spot for a soothing, comfortable night. Hot jasmine tea paired with a steamy sensational broth and a hint of fresh ginger in the air makes me forget all of my problems. I come here by myself sometimes just to enjoy this feeling; it's calming and cathartic. I've been coming here since 2011 and it has managed to maintain that same faithful and heartwarming pho broth ever since. I know it's been around longer than I have been around and still is here. There's a reason why, it's legit pho for sure. It shows because every weekend, it's jammed packed with Asians and Hispanics. Occasionally you see some people that aren't from around here come, but not that often because they're scared of the 3 stars and everyone ends up at Golden Deli. All the locals here know this is the best spot for authentic pho that's not expensive or hyped. The meat portion is actually pretty good, and prices only went up a little bit (be thankful, this place runs off beef). Sadly the filet mignon pho went up more compared to the other bowls, and I wished they did give a tad more meat for this one. For the dac biet, there's a great balance of rare steak, brisket (I really like the fatty pieces of brisket...it's just fun to chew lol), tripe (enough to not distract you), tendon (wish it was more flavorful), and flank (great amount and well-cooked). Their scallion oil is tasty and their vinegar/pickled onion is great with the pho. Once you pair all of that with some ginger (you can ask for more, they give a lot) and swap for wide rice noodles, there's no other place that can have it like Pho Filet. It's an experience. This is the spot for Northern style pho. I can't name another place that does it well like them. Even if you don't get the pho w/ chopped filet mignon, you can still get wide rice noodles and ginger if you ask. This place really got their formula down because I do not get tired of their pho; I can finish the whole bowl with soup without dying of thirst. They don't need that much msg here to get their message across. When I feel sick, happy, bored, sad, I always end up at this place. It makes my mood better just because the marvelous broth goes so well ginger. FYI ginger is anti-inflammatory, can calm an upset stomach, and gets rid of nausea. Combine that with pho, now you have the ultimate cure for hangovers hahah. Those giving 3 stars or below either don't like pho or expected great service..or just had a bad experience (yes I know sometimes they seem rude but that's how they run it here lmao). Been coming here since the previous owner some 20+ years ago. Have not been here for about a year now. Food is still great. I went with #29 Pho and some Durian Shake this time, instead of coffee. I normally would share a few appetizers with friends. Their Pho was Delicious and Amazing as usual. No Complaints Ever!!! I just wish they gave more condiment veggies on the side instead of having to ask for more. The Durian Shake was sweet. I could taste the sugar. It came out white instead of the normal yellowish hue of Durian color. I glanced at their exotic meat section and it's much smaller now and still comes in the typical Asian/ Viet/ Chinese Dish Style but, did not try it this time. Food here is great, my family and I always order Togo and the portion is big and it's cheap. But the thing I hate about this place is the inconsistent hours. Yelp and google list one thing then you show up to the restaurant and they are closed. They never seem to answer the phone, which probably makes sense because they are closed. Update your hours because yelps hours are clearly incorrect! Came on Monday Night, Yelp said 10 and it was 8:20 got to the location and it was closed. One of several pho places I frequent, Pho Filet is pretty good. Their broth is really beefy and strong in flavor. I'm sure they use some MSG as I get thirsty after eating. With everything being take-out nowadays, I do mix it with some hot water when I get home just to cut down on the sodium intake. Since the order contains raw meat, it's not a bad idea to reboil the broth before mixing everything together at home. I've also had their com tam and bun dishes. My parents love pho and we usually come in on the weekends in the morning right when it opens. It's not too busy in the morning (thank god). The parking sucks but you can park in the plaza right next to it. I'm not a big fan of pho, so I get their cornish hen with red rice (not sure if this is what it's called on the menu). We picked up 4 large orders of Pho Dac Biet (~$9). Even though the lady told me the order would be ready in 10-15 minutes, I told her to have it ready in 30 minutes instead. When arriving, she was still packing the order though. In addition, no one was wearing a mask during COVID-19, so a bit concerning. We brought the food home to eat. By then, the soup was warm but not hot enough to cook some of the raw meat so needed to microwave a bit. Of course having take out pho doesn't compare to dining in when it's streaming hot. They also provide small containers of sauces with sriracha and hoisin mixed together already. The broth is delicious and noodles were chewy.
