My friends and I found this on yelp and a friend told me it always has a good crowd so we came to check it out. I got the vermicelli bowl with grilled pork and an egg roll. The meat was a bit tough so it wasn't the best I've had. The egg roll was perfect and there was a lot of noodles and not too many veggies (which I feel like a lot of places do for vermicelli - lots of veggies, less noodle) so I was glad. My friend got a vermicelli bowl as well and my other friend got the pork chop with rice and veggies and enjoyed it. read more

My favorite place to go for pho in this area, and believe me, I've tried just about all of them!

We got two different Phos, potstickers, & phad thai.. The presentation was incredible, larger portions which reflect the value of the price... the flavor of each item was through the roof. The best PHO i've ever had was here. The service was impeccable! 10/10 recommend this place!! we can close to an hour before close too!! read more

Really really great food, not top notch dining but the customer service and food was awesome. I had some veggie tofu pho, and the gf had shrimp pho. The prices were super cheap too, at first I was worried because they were so cheap. Lol .....definitely worth it!! read more

I used to eat here a lot when my husband (then boyfriend) lived on the northwest side of town. We always ordered pho or Com Bo NY (NY strip), but this time, I decided to order the Com Ga Roti, and it was amazing!! The skin was crispy, but the chicken wasn't dry, and the sunny side up egg was icing on the cake! read more

I came here to try it out for lunch. The woman taking my order was extremely friendly and helpful. I paid and she said it would take 15 minutes for the food to come out. After 20 minutes I didn't see her so I asked the gentleman there if he could check on my order because I had to go back to work and he responded, "you should have ordered before if you want it early, we we make everything fresh so it takes time." I told him I was just checking because she had told me 15 minutes and it had already be 20. He seemed rude, that's the only reason I took off 1 Star. Otherwise, the food was very fresh and it was delicious! I had the tofu spring rolls and fried tofu with steamed rice. If you go during lunch ask for the women to help, they're friendly and extremely helpful. The man seems like he's frustrated or tired. Otherwise I would recommend this place...but make sure you order ahead if you want to get back to work on time and have time to eat. read more

We've been coming here for the past 6 months. we love it very much. originally we would just get regular chicken pho. thenn we found out about the wonton soup. never went back. on the menu it has wonton soup with pork but we substitute it for grilled beef. normally everything is okay with our order and they do it right every time. this week recently there was some miscommunication between us and our order was wrong. we had to go back and have them switch it to the correct order. i do believe i was angry with them and vice versa. just miscommunication. they ended up making me a milk tea and made my order correctly and wished me on my merry way. i do appreciate and recommend this business. i will be coming back! read more

The moment I walked in, we stood by the entrance door for 3 mins and no one greeted us literally ignored. I noticed there was a table by the aquarium that said "Pick up to go here" so we stood there staring at the employees for another 3 mins, still being ignored. So now I walk up to the desk where you pay... and the owner just looks at me like "Hm?" I asked, "Can I order to go?" He just nods. "Can I have one pork bahn mi and one beef bahn mi?" He immediately grabs the menu and starts point everywhere like he didn't understand.. so I just repeated myself slower. He then nods again with some understanding this time. I pay and stood by the aquarium to wait. About 10-12 mins pass and he comes up to me asking me instead of one of the bahn mi sandwich can he give me the egg rolls instead? I was so confused. So I asked him if he ran out of either beef or pork for the bahn mi and he kept trying to say "instead I give you the egg rolls.." I continued to ask, "which do you not have pork/beef bahn mi?" (In my head I was thinking which ever you don't have I'll just get two of the same that you do have) he then explained, "I forgot to put in one of the orders for the kitchen. So I'll give you the egg rolls and you don't have to wait." I tell him nicely, "How long to wait for the two sandwiches?" He says, "About 10 more minutes, you can sit down and wait." This was kind of frustrating the moment I walked in.. so I set a timer on my phone and sit and wait. While waiting food is coming out of the kitchen every 2 minutes. They had 6 tables.. it wasn't that busy.. then another guy comes in to order to go and his food was ready before us. This was not okay.. they even had a grub hub order sitting on the counter ready before the delivery guy was even there. We didn't even have priority at all. I ordered 2 sandwiches nothing crazy or complicated. It was 18 minutes later he hands me a bag of my two sandwiches. I was thinking maybe if I'm patient for waiting OVER A HALF FUCKING HOUR FOR TWO SANDWICHES.. maybe he's nice enough to throw in the egg rolls for the inconvenience. Nope. Why was that something he even suggested.. it was also cheaper than the sandwich so he would made more off of me. Absolutely confused why this place even has 4 stars! Do not come here! Plenty of Vietnamese restaurants in Texas. This ma and pop restaurant need to consider better customer service. read more

What in the unseasoned, bland, lunch food hell Is going on HERE???? I fail to understand how They stay in business! Perhaps the restaurant is situated in a busy area so they can get away with tasteless, sub par food! I'm mad!! I've been going there for years, but now I've had it! Gave them chance after chance but now I've had it! You hear me??! HAD IT!! My egg rolls tasted like they had been fried in 20 Day old oil! My noodles were as hard as rock, even though I reheated my broth and stuck the noodles in, they never softened up. I am thoroughly disappointed. Guess I have to trek all the way to 249 to get my pho fix. read more

Authentic, Humble family owned business. Atmosphere is inviting and warm. The Pho here is unequivocally unmatched compared to other establishments in Houston. Broth is RICH, hearty, well composed, and packed with flavor!!!! Not saturated with MSG. Ingredients are fresh. Portion sizes are generous. Prices are reasonable. Who could ask for more! The staff here are friendly, tactful, and attentive. Almost feels like family. I don't even have to bat an eyelash and the food is already at the table. This will forever be my happy place. read more

This is my number one choice for pho and traditional Vietnamese food. Since I first arrived in Houston 7 years ago, I got attracted by the big sign on top of the building "Pho Dalat" (I don't even know the meaning of the words). The staff speaks good English and they are always friendly. Best of all, the owner is very easy to talk to. Unlike other Vietnamese restaurants, this one has the most Vietnamese dishes with the most variety and exciting flavors. I have not had two taste-alike dishes. Praise to the chef! I gave 2-thumbs up on every dish I've tried: - Chicken with Ro Ti - this is a Vietnamese-style roast chicken over rice. The flavor was so robust. This was recommended by a waiter. He simply asked me if I was super hungry. And this hit the spot just right. - Beef Salad - It was worth of the wait. The sliced beef was marinated in lemon juice than tossed with spices. Unlike other restaurants, I could not taste the sour lemon flavor at all. I wish it was served with some bread. - Rice Vermicelli with stir fried vegetables - It was so tasty. I can relate this with Houston's temperatures: hot, warm and cold all at one place. The shredded lettuce, pickled carrot and daikon were cold; noodles and some veggies were warm and tossed with the stir-fried vegetables, tofu and sliced carrots (yup more carrots) were piping hot. It came with a bowl of dipping sauce, but I didn't need it. - Wonton Soup had lots of sliced grilled pork and vegetables. I recommend this dish when you are under the weather. The broth was very tasty and natural. I skipped the typical dishes like pho and egg rolls, simply because they are already been known at their best. read more

I am going to keep it short and simple. I like food so I will wait for it patiently if it is worth the wait. Strike 1: This place, however, made me and my friend wait for the food for 35 minutes and did not even give us the silverware when my friend who couldn't use chopsticks had asked for a fork right after we placed the order. Strike 2: We ordered the salad rolls and I was not expecting there to be chicken and eggs in there. Fortunately, I had mine first so I warned my friend who is a vegan not to have any! Strike 3: The waiter was nowhere to be found. They were severely understaffed. This one lady who was serving the food kept appearing out of the kitchen carrying a tray and looked very excited about the food. I think this place has a lot of potential. I know for a fact that this place used to be very good because I used to come here for lunch with my ex-co-worker but for some reason we stopped going there. And then I remembered it was because they took forever to bring the food out. This time I got the chicken vermicelli. It was decent. A very generous portion. I would recommend that they cut back a little on the onions. read more

If you are driving from Houston to Austin and have a growl from your stomach for Vietnamese food, do not deprive yourself of this location! I stumbled upon this location because I happened to be around 290 today with the gf and she wanted asian food. It's hidden in the back of the shopping area that I never would volunteer to go to... but I am so glad I did! I ordered the soda chanh muoi and it is so GOOD! I had to get a nice rice plate so I ordered the com thit nuong with bi and chung. One word: Awesome! My gf ordered the beef version and it was excellent as well, but not as good as mine. ;) Summary: Authentic Vietnamese, really delicious food, hole in the wall place. Come! read more

Meet friends here for late lunch. I've had lot of Vietnamese food before but probably this is one of the worst "pho" I've ever had. And as usual, no service... read more

Like a sample in the isles of Costco, it's not enough to buy the stock at PhoDalat. The portions here is Chick Fillet small. Upon being served, there is so little broth in the bowl, I can see the bottom! But for the health conscious people, Pho dalat should get an award for portion control. First taste, the broth is not bad, pretty great actually, minus the quantity of it. It's unsatisfying, like spilling your cold cold beer, or finding out the hot chick that was actually talking to the guy behind you. I wanted to like this place so hard, but I finished so quick the waitress laughed at me. Some advise to you pho lovers, treat this like a White Castles and order more than one. read more

I been coming to this place for over two years, great food and environment!! Today my mom and I finished working out we decided to go and eat a delicious pho.... We got a side of spring rolls, 2 crystal clear noodles, a thai tea and a cup of water. Whenever I went to pay the check the owner did not hand me the ticket. He just told me the amount. It was weird because my math told me it was gonna be below 40dlls. I got the menu and OMG!! My correct amount was $37 dlls!! Long short story.. we call the manager or owner whatever he was and he gave me a bad explanation and hand me another ticket with an amount of $46 dlls ans then he gave me back 2.7dlls back. GEEZ!! I loved this place but this is so wrong!! He try to make me think i was stupid!! Thats the reason they dont give tickets to people... if you go be careful with the owner or whoever works there. ALWAYS ASK FOR TICKET!! Last time I go there read more

We tried the Bún bò Huế and cha giò. Both were good. I was a bit disappointed to find that the Bún bò Huế did not include the pork blood or pork sausage like most and the egg rolls had a sour taste. Came here on a Saturday at noon. The restaurant is in a strip center with miscellaneous shops. I noticed a lot of cars parked directly near the restaurant. My hub and I walked in and I saw a bunch of working asian men sitting in groups of 4 or more. So I thought, "Hell yea...working asian men know good food on a budget!!" The place smelled like delicious pho so I was ready to order! We were greeted by an older guy. We got the durian shake, iced tea, an order of vietnamese eggrolls, pho dac biet and pho tai bo vien. The drinks and eggrolls came out first (thank goodness) and the PHO came out afterwards. This is a pretty good pho place for those who live in this area. It sure beats driving all the way to Bellaire/Beltway 8 when you are craving pho on the east side of town!!! I recommend this place to anyone. It is clean, good, typical vietnamese service and good vietnamese food. Thank goodness!!! read more

The closest to mom's cooking I've found on Northwest Freeway (290) and I ain't lyin'. This place is owned by an older couple. The wife is a very cool lady who's always fancied up and out running errands. The hubs is this sweet little man who runs the register. He loves to crack jokes with his customers. It's cute. This is not your typical pho & eggroll place, they actually have a full Vietnamese food menu like a regular dine in restaurant. Nothing is altered to the fitting of an American tastebuds. They keep it real with the sauces and such! I've never once been disappointed by any of their dishes. If you know what you're ordering and it's not on the menu.. you can request for it and they will whip it up for you. They even whip up party trays if you just ask them. :) read more

Never again will I ever try their food. Today was my very frost time trying pho Dalat I had bread such great reviews about the food and everything. Until today when I finally got the chance to try their food I order an e7 with fried egg everything was fine until I started eating my General sows and it taste like paint thinner or chemically to me during me being at work I called up there to speak with someone. She then told me that it wasn't her fault that I ordered that food. I should've know what I wanted when I ordered it and that it could not have been nasty due to the fact that they have been open for 30 years. I let her know that all I want was to swap it out for something else she then said the owner wouldn't let her do something like that a few hours later I went up there to try to talk to someone in person. It was the same lady that I spoke to on the phone and ask for a number to speak to the owner or someway to get in contact with the owner. She then stated that she could provide me with the number provided me with a false number. I called it in front of her. It did not work. She didn't stated that she had no other number to contact them and then finally proceeded to say that she was the owner and that people like me are the reason why people go out of business because we order food and don't like it. Then stated that I wanted my money back or a replacement. She stated no she wouldn't do that, and so avoid any further escalation. I left the food right there. I will never come back here again I hope don't steal people money like this all the time I'm very very disappointment in their horrible customer service skills someone should really speak with them about fixing that read more

One of my favorite lunch spots when I'm working in the NW/Fairbanks area. Out of the three Vietnamese restaurants within 1/4 mile of each other on W. Tidwell, Pho Dalat offers the most comprehensive menu (even serve frog legs and family style meals). But, since I'm usually there during lunch time, I stick to either a pho, bun or rice plate. One thing I've noticed lately, when I order a small pho, it fills me up ok but I get hungry a couple hours later, hmm... I'm a big fan of their tofu luc lac! It is one of the best tofu luc lac I've had, seriously! I usually order the dinner size portion, eat half and take the rest home. But, I think they also offer the same dish in a "lunch" portion. Service can be kinda spotty, especially if you go during height of lunch time. Otherwise, it's usually pretty quick, you can get in and out in under an hour. Be aware, there's a minimum $10 for credit card charges. read more
