The Summary: Horrible experience. Rotten/browning condiments. WILL NEVER go back to this Pho D'Lite or any other location for that matter. The Details: I've ordered take out (pho) from this restaurant once before and everything was fine with that order. Went to the restaurant on May 5, 2018 and placed a take out order for Pho D'Lite and Pho Shrimp: 1. I paid in cash and asked for a receipt. For some reason, they could not give me a receipt. Told them no problem, I'll be back in about 15 minutes. 2. Go back to pick up the order. The waiter handed me a bag and I left. As I walked to my car, I noticed that the bag felt a little light for what I ordered - I checked the receipt and it's the wrong order. I returned to the restaurant and told the manager (Tatiana) that I had the wrong order. She apologized and went back into the kitchen. At this point, it seemed like my order wasn't even prepared, because it wasn't like she grabbed the correct bag and then came right back out. It took a few minutes for her to put the order together. She came back out and reviewed the order - I didn't really pay attention to the items - my name was on the receipt and the correct order was listed on it as well. I took the bag and I left. 3. So I get home, only to find out that instead of shrimp, I was given chicken. I called the restaurant and the server told me I that I could pick up the shrimp and he apologized. I asked if they deliver (I didn't see why I should have to go out of my way to correct their mistake). He put the manager on the phone and she apologized and said the shrimp will be delivered (she delivered it herself). I was expecting more than 6 small shrimp, but whatever. 4. I started putting the pho together in a bowl and noticed that the sprouts had started to brown and part of the cilantro was rotten - I mean slimy rotten. I checked my daughter's order - while her sprouts looked okay, as I poked through the cilantro I noticed the same thing (slimy, rotten pieces, some turning yellow/brown). I was disgusted. I put everything back in the bag (except the broth) and drove back to the restaurant. My appetite was gone. 5. When I arrived, I asked to speak to the manager. The server told me "She went to deliver your shrimp". I said I know, I got the shrimp, but I'd like a refund because the food is not fresh. 6. I opened the condiment containers and showed him the sprouts and the cilantro. He proceeded to tell me that they weren't rotten, "that's just oxidation" (WTF??). I said no, look at this, rubbing the slimy, rotted cilantro between my fingers. I told him that I've eaten here before, and the condiments did not look like this. I demanded a refund. 7. He called the manager and after speaking with her told me that she's on her way back to the restaurant "she doesn't live too far from here" and she's the only one who can issue a refund. About 10 minutes passed. I asked the server to please contact the manager again to find when she'll arrive because I don't have all night. He called her and then tells me "she can't make it back in tonight" (AT WHAT POINT WERE YOU GOING TO MENTION THIS ME??!!!) "but she said to take down your number...". I cut him off: "I'm not leaving without a refund. This is ridiculous!" 8. Several more minutes passed. The server told me a refund can't be issued because I paid electronically. This is beyond ridiculous - I showed him my receipt - "I paid in cash." He offered to replace the order. I declined, because there's no way that I'll eat here again. 9. More waiting.... and waiting... 10 . The server is somehow granted the magical authority to issue a refund - this was after my having been in the restaurant for 45 - 50 minutes with my daughter. Went here last night and it was great. Being new to the area I was looking for a decent pho spot, and bam! Here it is. Super clean, friendly and quick service. Food was really fresh and tasteful. They didn't skimp on the servings either. I'd definitely recommend this place to anybody and can't wait to go back. read more

I was so excited to try this new place out. There aren't many Vietnamese restaurants in the area. I went with my brother who is a huge Pho fan. The visit didn't turn out great as we had hoped. When my bowl of Pho arrived, I didn't recognize the meat they put in it. It looked like they threw in pulled-pork meat and tasted like it too. I was completely turned off and didn't realfinish the bowl, which I always do. The broth was missing something too. It didn't hit the satisfying spot. The server was nice but it felt like college kids were running the place and it lacked some professional restaurant practices that I expected especially if this is a chain. This is maybe only the 3rd or 4th review I've written on yelp because to me unless the food is out of this world great or you've got to be kidding me bad, it's not worth the energy. This place was are you kidding me bad! We got take out, but doubt eating in would be much better. I took a chance on it because of the 3.5 stars it received but I must say it was the worst Pad Thai and Bangkok noodles we have ever had. That is saying a lot because I get Thai pretty much every week. The pad Thai had zero flavor, hardly any chicken and limp noodles. The Bangkok noodles had a little more flavor in the sauce and the shrimp although over cooked had a decent flavor but those noodles, I don't know what they did to them just bad! Spring rolls soggy mess. Needless to say, we won't be back. A Golden Corral buffet serves beer "Asian Fusion" food that this place. Disappointed!! read more

I was really excited to discover a pho restaurant very close to my house. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, it looked clean and was pleasantly decorated. They only have one size for the pho soup and it was a large size. I would've much rather have a small portion instead of pay for a large size that I was unable to finish. The soup had a decent amount of meat; however, the broth was a bit bland to me. Also, the bean sprouts that came with the soup did not look fresh, it was quite brown and stale. We had the summer rolls and the peanut-based sauce that came with it was pretty flavorful. We went around 11 am, which is when the restaurant opens, so the service was pretty quick. I'd probably return to settle a pho craving but for great pho, I suggest that you go elsewhere. read more

I used to love this place, my husband and I were frequent visitors, until the last couple of times we noticed the food wasn't as good quality, like the basil or mint would be brown and wilted, or the jalapeños were slimy as if too old, then here's the kicker, we went in and I noticed something in the corner of my eye and there was an actual cockroach crawling up the wall at our booth, last time I ever went there again, if that's out by the seating, I can only imagine the kitchen! read more

Dropped in for the first time, famished for lunch at 11:15. Quick, friendly service. Had summer rolls, tripe pho (order P4 with just tripe) and coconut water. We were served quickly. Summer rolls were obviously freshly made, big and delicious. Pho was perfect, and even the coconut water came with several large slices of fresh coco (instead of the dry little cubes that come in the canned stuff). Great food and decent price. Each time I've gone I've had an issue. Either the food wasn't packaged well and spilled, it didn't have much taste or they got the order wrong. I continue to go back in hopes that they were just having an off day but I'm convinced that it's just not worth it. The food is mediocre and the service is lackluster. They're lucky to be so conveniently located or I'm sure they would fold. I'm not bothering to go back again. Their spring rolls are good but not worth me going through hassle with them again. This was the worst meal I've ever had. The food was lukewarm the shrimp in the vermicelli was the size of a nickel and incredibly tough. My meal was flavorless and the only reason I ate it and did not return it is because I was starving after a long day at work. You know when they say third time's a charm? Well, with Pho D'lite the third time's a nightmare. I thought I would give them one last chance after they screwed up our orders not once, but twice. First was when they forgot to include the egg rolls in our carryout order; the second time was when they gave my husband the wrong rice bowl than what he originally ordered when we dined in. Then there was the disaster of last night when I placed another carryout order: spring rolls, pho, and rice bowl. When I got to the restaurant, the guy told me the wait is going to be just five minutes. It turned out to be fifteen minutes. When he brought out the order, the egg rolls were missing; so I had to wait another five minutes for that. Fast forward to when I got home, I got a call from their manager Tatyana informing me they gave me the wrong appetizer - instead of egg rolls I got chicken wings. But that's not all, when I opened the bag in my kitchen, I realized that what I thought was my husband's rice bowl was actually the meat and vegetables for my pho. My husband's rice bowl was MISSING!!! So I called them back and spoke to the same guy who missed my egg rolls and while he admitted his mistake, he didn't offer any solutions. He initially suggested to order by Ubereats, but I pointed out that I would NOT pay again for something I already paid for. I then asked for a refund, but he said they could not issue it and I would have to go back to the restaurant. I live 20 minutes away and a roundtrip will take a whole 40 minutes! So finally he said he will get his manager to call me back, but it has been more than 24 hours since and I have received no calls. I have to wonder whether the guy actually told Tatyana about the 2nd mistake in my order and that I wanted a callback. At this point, it's not even about the refund anymore (which is less than $20 for the food items that I did not get and got incorrectly), it's become a matter of principle. While Tatyana is one of the nicest ladies you'll ever meet, her staff is lacking some serious organization and customer service skills. I will NEVER go back to this place again and will tell my family and friends and to do the same. read more

Pho D Lite is one of the best restaurant when come to Asian cuisine. I love the chicken Pho soup, it is really refresh,( if you have stomach ache and want to eat something lite, Pho soup is the best) and the wing with garlic delicious. Mmmmm. I have been eagerly awaiting for Pho D'lite to so I don't have to drive to Crofton from Bowie at lunch time for some Pho. The interior is very attractive and I ordered the crispy eggrolls and pho with beef (additional). The egg rolls were not good and I eat this every Pho place I go. It had a strange after taste I didn't recognize and I have an asian heritage. When the noodles arrived, I noticed that there was not beef in the soup. I went and told my waiter (young man) and he said it's only the noodles and the broth was beef. I told him again that I ordered it with beef and he said it doesn't come that way??? Strange, I thought I saw that there was a $2.95 add for beef...hmmm. Disappointed, I ate it anyways because I was super hungry and we were half way through my lunch break by then. I noticed the young man leave for his shift and then a lady took over who gave much better service. When I paid for the meal she kindly gave me a take away menu and I noticed that you could add beef, chicken, etc for additional fee so I was right AND there is a picture of the very meal I came there to eat on the cover. None the less, the pho broth was actually very good but would have been much better for me to have had it with beef since all carbs (noodles) is not good for diabetics. Since it's a new place, on a good day, I may try it again because I understand that new employees may not get all the details. It's worth a first try at the very least. read more

I really wanna like this place. I really do, but the service is just. So. Bad! I used to stop in regularly before work, but waiting 30+ minutes for my food became too much of a hassle. At dinner time in a busy restaurant I can understand, but there's no reason it should take that long in the middle of the day, in a virtually empty restaurant. The Asian waiter is always great and courteous, but other than he and the female manager, the rest of the staff seems pretty lazy, as they just stand around and don't do anything. The other day I came here with a close friend, and the restaurant had about 2 other patrons in it. All we needed was a glass of water to go with our meals, but everyone seemed to ignore us! Our server never checked on us, and when we managed to flag someone down, she ignored us. The second woman we asked claimed that she had gone on break, which is fine and understandable, but she could've at least alerted the other woman who was standing not 10 feet away from us at the register doing nothing! Honestly, I have my own bowls, I'll probably just order out from now on so I don't have to deal with the service again. The food is really good though. read more

When this place first opened I was excited that we would have a pho place in Bowie. The first time we went it was great, and the second time was good as well. On our third trip, we had a pretty bad experience with service but the food was fine so we figured they just had a bad day with regards to service. We went again, this time service AND food was bad. The server never came around and couldn't answer questions about the food. We ordered a Thai Tea that never came. When the food came, there were no spoons on the table so we had to wait but the server never came. We finally got up and looked for spoons ourselves behind the counter which they noticed and asked what we needed. When we did get spoons, the pho was room temperature at best and the meat (which starts raw) did not fully cook in the broth because it wasn't hot enough. The rest of that experience was similar. After this we didn't return for a while, figuring these were all issues with logistics surrounding the new-ish opening of the restaurant and maybe the lack in experience of the servers. We finally went back 3 or 4 months later and things were ok. Service wasn't great but wasn't as bad as the last time. Food was ok. We decided it wasn't worth going anymore. We decided to go back last week after a very long hiatus (honestly, we were just hungry and enough time passed between visits we assumed it would at least be ok). IT WAS TERRIBLE. The server this time was actually really nice but that's the only positive thing. The first table was dirty so we moved to another which had specs of food on it but we just wiped it away not wanting to move again. The table had nothing on it but after we ordered the server brought us the caddy with sriracha, spoons, chopsticks, and 2 uselessly thin napkins (one for each of us). Upon inspection, the spoons were dirty and greasy. We asked the server for new spoons because they were dirty and she apologized and said she would have them cleaned. She brought back new spoons that had been "cleaned" and part of it was, but somehow the handle and part of the spoon leading to the deep part was still dirty and greasy. There were literally small specs of food that we scratched off to show her it was still dirty. We then finally got clean spoons. Then our food came. We both got eye round pho. The meat was sliced so thick that it could not cook in the broth. We separated it all so it would hopefully cook through but after waiting, we were left with half cooked, half totally raw pieces of meat. At this point we decided to just leave. We let our server know and we paid for our Thai Tea that we did drink and tipped her a little. This place is going down pretty fast and it's upsetting. There's a big demand in Bowie for a good pho place and hopefully someone will come in and take all of our money but it's not this place. read more

This place is in a nice location, but it's no wonder why there's barely anyone there on a weekday afternoon despite being in the middle of everything in the city. This place sucks. One time I went in and the teenaged employee looked me dead in the eyes and went to the back room to sit on a couch and play on her phone. It's understaffed and the pho broth is basically used dishwater. It's gross (both the staffing and food). The broth is literally the only thing they have to cook and yet they still manage to mess it up. I am so so pleased that there is a pho place in Bowie now, I always had to go to Crofton for my pho fix. The employees are very nice and pleasant, one waitress even offered to lend me her charger when I mentioned my phone was dead! The menu was different from other pho menus I have seen, but once I figured out what my usual at the Crofton pho place was called at Pho D'Lite, I ordered and enjoyed it very much. Welp...ya fucked up. A whole hour waiting for one app and one bowl of noodles and chicken. Are you dead ass? Two of the cooks walked out. You could say that was the reason why service was slow. But no I watched people come in after me eat two fucking bowls of Pho and still leave before I did. And there was other people in the restaurant to and they all got their stuff before I did. And my consolation was a free Thai iced tea 30 minutes after they said my food will be ready. Big fucking whoop! I waited another 30 minutes and still couldn't get an answer so as to where my food was. I asked for a refund and the little millennial manager didn't even look me in my eye try to apologize or anything. Just shoved me my receipt like I did something wrong. You should consider getting training for your manager so that they at least seem empathetic towards hungry customer. Disappointing! In general, I'm frustrated by the lack of Korean, Thai, Vietnamese and Indian restaurants out here in the 'burbs. I was excited about this spot. Rooting for it! Alas, no. Everything was edible, but that's about it. I had the fresh spring rolls, which tasted like they had been made and left to sit in the fridge for a day or two. The whole point of the fresh spring roll is that it is, well, fresh! I also had a vermicelli bowl. The vermicelli was hot. So, again, the whole point of the bowl is to have warm meat and spring roll contrast with cool noodles and cool, crisp veggies. They have great coupon deals that come to the mail (valpak) and goupon all the time. They have a Pho happy hour from 3-5pm where the Pho is half price. I always get the veggie pho with beef broth... it is very tasty and you definitely get you money's worth I alway leave with left overs :) read more
