I'm allergic to msg and asked the owner of they use msg in their food. She says its just in the beef pho. Someone else comes over and asks to take our order. I like all the condiments on the table, no muss-no fuss. Small but spacious. The owner was friendly and attentive. The spring rolls were very good and not over priced. Let me start off by informing you, being of Vietnamese decent, this place tastes just like home made-what mom would spend 24 hours to make the broth alone type of place. I'm very picky about my pho broth and I judge pho places by their broth before adding in the hoisin and sriracha sauce, and I add in ALOT of sauce. This place makes the broth so good that I barely have to add any extra sauce in. The pho is so exceptional that clearly you could tell why people go out of their way to go to a hole in the wall type of place. The place seems to be family owned and they are not only very fast to getting your food to you, but they also give a very generous amount of food for price. Sorry, I don't agree with most people. The grilled meat balls are so small and so are the eggrolls. The soup base is bland and the basil chicken flat noodle needs more seasoning. The price for the portion and taste is a bit pricier than other Pho places. I will go back to Bistro B for egg rolls, and Que Huong or Pho Bistro for the Pho, not to this place. read more

This place is conveniently located east of Stacy and let's be honest - in this part of town if you're craving pho but don't wanna drive a million miles you're SOL. Surprisingly the pho is pretty good too. It satisfies the cravings very nicely. Vermicelli bowls are good as well. Also the owners are so friendly/warm/inviting, and they are so adorable. Their menu is pretty diverse as well, they also do have a few americanized Chinese dishes, and delicious spicy Pad Thai as well. I DO NOT recommend this Pho establishment if you are looking for something with spice or any taste at all. All of the food is bland and tastes like rubber. I ordered there chicken pho and it was the most bland pho I have had in Years. Thinking this might be a mistake, I went ahead and ordered chicken Pad Thai which was another nightmare of a experience. The noodles had a very nasty taste to them and the plate was 25% noodle + chicken and 75% undercooked vegetables. There spring roll appetizers were cold and the crab wantons were not fresh or in any way a large enough portion to charge the price they did. I left highly unsatisfied and desiring actually tasteful Asian cuisine. DO not be tricked by the other reviewers, they have very bland standards for food. read more

Well I gave up meat for lent so we will see what I get. I ordered a veggie broth soup with shrimp and a half order of the shrimp rolls. I have high hopes with all the good reviews with this place being so close to my home. Looking around it is a small clean restaurant with helpful employees. The shrimp rolls came out first and were so hot they were too hot to handle but we're excellent. The soup arrived just as hot but this is a large bowl? Soup was good but I think I want to try a "real" Pho with some beef. The shrimp were large and looked and tasted very good as did the veggies. The broth was a little weak so I added some soy and that helped. Had a taste for Pho but this really did not satisfy it. Well at checkout I asked what size bowl I was served and I was served a regular size. So I guess we had a communication problem. Decided to grab a to-go order for lunch at work. My Pho Combination Special was great! Nice flavor and not too sweet. The leftovers also made for a great dinner later. My coworker had the Shrimp Spring Rolls and said they were an amazing must try :) this may become a regular lunch spot. I also loved the fact that I didn't have to request chop sticks or silverware. Came in expecting an amazing bowl of soup with all these amazing reviews. I had the Small Pho soup with rare steak on the side. The broth is the key factor for me in any Pho place. I found the soup broth to be bland even with veggies added to it. I still think my regular spot in Plano has the best broth in the area. This place is less than 3 miles from my home so I come here often. So often they no longer ask me if I'm okay with my soup being spicy (I usually order S10 - pho tai bo hut aka spicy beef round with rice noodles) [ I guess people would complain about it being too spicy or something, but I'm the kind o fperson who likes their sriracha on sriracha]. They have three sizes here for the pho: regular, large, extra large. The regular can easily make two servings, a large can make 3 servings or 2 really large servings. I've never even had the extra large cause that just seems like I'll be eating my pho out of a galloon bucket just to accommodate all the food and soup! Every employee I've encountered here is ridiculously nice. The prices are great too especially for how much food you get (and they don't skimp out on the garnishes -basil, sprouts, jalapeños, etc). They have non-alcoholic Soda Xi Muoi, but the place is also BYOB so I guess you could spike it yourself. read more

One of the best pho places I've been to (I've been to several and I'm half Vietnamese so I know what's good) the owner treats people like family and the staff is very lax. Just coming home from eating at pho crystal. Food was excellent. We ordered BBQ pork vermicelli, rice BBQ pork and sea food flat noodle. And springs rolls and Thai ice tea. The BBQ pork was cooked great and had good flavor. The flat noodle was good and the shrimp spring rolls were awesome. (It had mint). My kids loved the spring rolls. My family and I have been coming to this place for years, but I never got around to yelping Pho Crystal... Due to my time in the service, and now my time on the road in my "civilian" job, I have tasted all kinds of Pho in all kind of places. Honestly, Pho Crystal is #2 on my list of all time Pho places, #1 is in Tacoma, WA, so I really can't go there frequently! Lol... This is a family joint, as mentioned by other Yelpers, Tam really goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. But com'on guys, she is a person too, so she can have an off day here and ther :) Now, on to important stuff. The flavors! I have pretty much tried everything on the menu, and let me just say, as picky as I am (if you read my other reviews), I have not been disappointed by ANYTHING here, even one day, my son wanted his meat ball pho, but I was not feeling like having noodles, so I tired the pork chops and the spicy beef sandwich (can't remember the name)...awesome!!! So, be a little adventurous and venture out of your comfort zone, you will not be disappointed. Just keep in mind people come to Pho Crystal for the Food, nothing else. Yes, the spot can be a little claustrophobic when it gets busy, but that alone tells you how much people love this place. I tired the other Pho place on Stacy, and it was the polar opposite of Pho Crystal.... They spent too much effort dressing up the place, effort that could have been used on the food.... Additionally, we have also ordered the Pho to go, and it was great to see that they under cook the rice noodles, so that it does not go soft during the transport. Great little family owned place. Best pho I found in north Texas. My wife is enamored with their pork spring rolls, and while she usually hates brothy soups, she loves their pho.
