We stopped by for an early lunch. Wanted to love it, but the food was just ok...ish. Service was great and the decor/vibe is cool. We tried the spicy basil with shrimp, everyday fried rice with shrimp, and tom kha soup. Everything was on the low average side. I eat a lot of Thai so this is in comparison to what I typically expect when eating Thai. We were also the first customers that day, so timing could have been off. The restaurant was very clean , nice atmosphere with pleasant music in the background . The meal I ordered what delish! I enjoyed every bit of it, Tom Kha just had the right amount of spice and coconut cream and the noodles was spot on. For dessert I had the sticky rice with mango, it was still good , the rice was just overly sweet and the mango is no to sweet . Thai chicken fried rice was meh. Greasy and peculiar odor from the oil. Could have used more color and flavor. Tofu Garden was unimpressive and overpriced for the very small amount of food in a huge flat bowl. The tofu was overdone and the sauce and veggies were sparse. Flavor was not really present at all. The chicken Satay was good. Only thing I'd order again. The chicken was done very well and the peanut sauce was delicious. Hint of coconut milk in the chicken satay. Server came to table and announced total when I had to take an emergency call at table. Should have walked away. Waved him away. Ticket clover miscalculated tip on total + tax but the itemized check was not shown before we were presented the total so had no basis to know until after and total ticket was printed. Won't return. We dined here for lunch on a Saturday. Loved the atmosphere!!! It was so beautifully decorated. I think it would be especially pretty in the evening. I would recommend this for a romantic evening out. We enjoyed some pad Thai, as well as some chicken with chili sauce. Our favorite Thai place. So happy we discovered Silver Thai several weeks ago. We've dined here 3 times since. The freshness and the quality of the ingredients are second to none. We usually don't venture out and try different dishes just because you don't know what you're going to get and don't want to end up disappointed. Not here. Every dish we've tried was served with the correct temperature, flavor profile on point, excellent freshness and quality, and meticulously presented. Special note, best pad Thai ever. Most places are too sweet and saucy. Here, the pad Thai is prepared with the perfect amount of sauce and ingredients that incentivizes you to finish everything on your plate. Not good for your waist line, but the buds are doing their happy dance. Last, but certainly not least, the staff is always friendly. Wow! Super fast service. I called in an order for pick-up. They said it would be 30 minutes till ready. I think it was ready in 15 minutes. The food was ok for takeout. You get 3 egg rolls, vegetables rolls at that for $8.95. Same with the Pad Thai $15.95. The inside still looks the same as it did 20 plus years ago. At least they took those dirty drapery's down from around the booths! Well done! The business really needs to update their website! I know it's pre-pandemic prices that are listed. I really wish that establishments would realize the importance of customer service. For me, if the customer service is bad I am less likely to visit. First of all, when I called the person answering just said hello. No restaurant name. I had questions about a couple of items that I was interested in and when I asked the second question I could hear the irritation in this persons voice. Once I arrived, there was no one at the host stand to greet or direct me. The only reason that I figured it out is because I saw my Togo order over on the bar. Within the 5 minutes of me standing there, 3 different workers walked by me without acknowledging my presence. The 3rd person finally looked at me and handed me my receipt. Still not saying anything! Finally once I hand her my card she asks if I need any types of sauce. She takes my card then walks over to the side to get glasses for worker #2 that didn't acknowledge me. Once she slides my card then she walks over and hands me my card and receipt and tells me to enjoy my lunch. As far as taste, the vegetable tempura is fried completely too hard!! This sauce that was provided is clumpy. The pad see lew is decent but only has 4 pieces of broccoli and just looks thrown together. I love Thai food and I have visited quite a few restaurants. We went in family style with Green Curry, Pad See Iew, Beef Mussaman Curry, Tom Kha with Tofu, Spicy Basil Chicken and (not on the menu) Khao Soi. Everything was amazing! Favorites we're Khao Soi, Mussaman and Pad See Iew. Ambiance - nice decor and spacing. Service - we had a sweet teen taking care of us who was very polite. He also knew that when we mentioned Khao Soi even though it wasn't on the menu that they could make it. The owner stopped by to visit, bought us a beer and chatted for quite a while. The pad kee mow was good, surprisingly authentic The pork medallions were lean. They were dry, but only slightly over cooked, it was just really lean. I would not recommend it. Overall the menu seems to be cleverly split between authentic dishes with thai names and inauthentic (american) dishes in english names. At first the pad kee mow felt over priced, but after receiving it, the quality was quite good. It was very well cooked and prepped, so its almost worth the price tag. The menus on yelp are very out dated, pad thai us 17$ for context. Service was good. Ambiance was way too formal for my taste. Needed some music and brighter lighting imo. read more

Silver Thai is a wonderful and pleasant restaurant to go to that offers a wide variety of appetizers and main dishes. Portion sizes were quite generous and I had plenty to take home for the following days lunch as well! For appetizers, I got the summer roll with tofu as well as the Tofu skewers. The summer rolls were fresh and crispy and was accompanied by a sweet plum sauce that was quite interesting. The tofu skewers on the other hand were bland and not that great. For my main dishes, we had ordered three noodle dishes. The Pad Thai was fantastic! The Pad Kee Mow which is my usual order was also quite good. We were curious by the Singapore stir-fry and it certainly did not disappoint. While the service was a little slow, the taste, atmosphere, and large portion sizes made the experience worthwhile and I would definitely consider eating here again. read more

This is our local Thai spot. When my husband and I first started dating, I asked if he wanted to get Tom Kha at Silver Thai Cuisine. He didn't know what Tom Kha was, and I said, ooooooh you're in for a real treat ! Needless to say he loved it and now we both regularly crave Tom Kha soup. Silver Thai has the best Tom Kha that we've been able to find locally- I've been to a few different places and nothing compares. It's SO GOOD. I also wanted to give a shout out to the ambiance and overall vibes, which is why I'm giving it 5 stars. We always sit at the bar when we go in, and every employee there (and Kenny the owner) is just so warm and welcome. Great recommendations on drinks and food... and the atmosphere there is so friendly that it lends to everyone sitting at the bar chatting together. I'm not a chatty person by any means but I always enjoy hanging out with the regulars at the bar and talking to the staff. Definitely recommend Silver Thai! read more

The food is fresh and hot. Obviously made when it was ordered. Service was fast when we were here for lunch, but there weren't many people here. Ambience is good and the restaurant is clean. The classic rock music could be swapped with traditional Thai music for a little more immersive ambience. At lunch, you get your choice of two soups or a spring roll. Prices stay the same with the dinner menu. The Tom Kha was flavorful. The green curry was good but not amazing. It was missing... Something. The Pad Ki Mow was good but wasn't the traditional Thai flavor. Almost Americanized. Overall still a nice restaurant and worth visiting. read more

My parents live in Allen and they are regulars here. Over the years, they've become friendly with Ken, the owner, as well as much of the other staff. This place definitely has the sort of warm, family restaurant vibe that facilitates those sorts of connections, with cozy booths and a circular bar where I've been able to join my parents as three adults and chat with the other patrons. This most recent visit, my sister loved the tom kha coconut soup she ordered a second bowl. I enjoyed my beef panang curry but should have ordered it spicier. The menu is very big and I recommend looking over it before you come. I hadn't been in a while and I sort of ordered out of panic. Whatever you get, it will probably be great, though! read more

I came in yesterday for lunch. The food is always great but I was so disappointed that the second our food arrived, the server said they were closing in 10 minutes but "no rush". It was the middle if the day on a Saturday? We paid immediately and she never came back to the table. My iced tea sat empty as I ate spicy food, desperate for a drink. I pushed the empty glass to the edge of the table hoping someone would have mercy. I couldn't finish my food because I was so thirsty. The other server saw it and passed right by several times. I could see our server in the back, milling about, just waiting for us to leave. We scarfed down our food, which was great as always. The moment we stood up to leave, our server appeared to clean our table. Where you been??? If we hadn't have prepaid, she wouldn't have gotten a tip. It wasn't deserved. I don't know if I'll be back. That was really tacky. If you don't want people in the restaurant tell them at the door so they don't have feel unwanted, rushed to eat, and thirsty! read more
