We found our new favorite Thai restaurant. We have had two meals at Thai Spice - dine in and take out. Our dine in experience was wonderful: quick attentive service in a warm and friendly environment. We ordered potstickers for an appetizer and they were plump and tasty. I had the orange chicken and it tasted clean and fresh. He had the Thai basil beef and said that it was delicious. Last night, we ordered take out: corn patties, chicken satay, Thai basil chicken and cashew chicken. Our order was ready promptly, and our meal was packaged with care. Everything was delicious and the portions were generous. This morning, I received a nice note, thanking me for my order. On our next visit, we intend to visit during Happy Hour to enjoy bites and cocktails. We are so glad that we found this neighborhood restaurant and look forward to enjoying many more meals with the friendly staff at Thai Spice. read more

We did takeout and had a 20 minute drive. It held up very well. The pad kee mow was good, good amount of chicken but I would like to to be more bite size. Tom yum soup was good but I'd say it's on the sweeter than sour side but still good. The tom kha (ate before we got a picture lol) was very good! We also got the wonton soup which was good. Side of fried rice was basic but I expected that for only $4-5, it did have a garlicky taste which was nice. Spice level are good, the medium had a kick and lingering spice to it. I ordered the Tom Kha Gai and Crispy Egg Roll. The soup was flavorless. You'd expect a hint of coconut milk in this preparation and even some whitish colored broth, but at Thai Spice it is not happening. The broth had nothing in common with a dish commonly served at Thai restaurants worldwide. The chicken in the soup was very poor quality. I went on a Sunday, so maybe their fare is sitting around since mid-week prior deliveries. While that would explain flavorless, tough meat, it is not an excuse. Given the flavorless tomato in the soup, lack of character in the broth, and missing ingredients, tossing in a low quality chicken meat makes sense. The crispy egg rolls are advertised to include glass noodles, carrot, and cabbage, but the egg rolls were solely composed of densely packed noodles and cabbage. Once again, they were flavorless. I asked the server if they had a Thai cook and she said 'yes'. I can only conclude they purchase such low quality ingredients that the cook can't make it into a decent meal with legitimate Thai qualities. The definitive stroke on 'this place doesn't care about doing it well' came in the form of their rice. They do not prepare Thai jasmine rice. Let's face it, if you cannot commit to basic foundations (ingredients), then you fail completely. Worse yet, with the War in the Middle East severely damaging Thailand's economy, you would think Thais overseas would purchase Thai Jasmine Rice for the additional purpose (in addition to it being a great rice) of supporting their country in hardship. Again, not happening at Thai Spice. Plenty of nearby Thai restaurants who do things well. This place is a dud. read more

Went here on a weekend evening for dinner with the fam. It seems like a new restaurant and ambiance was modern and inviting. Overall it's not the largest menu, but food quality was good and service was friendly. + Green curry was good + Pad Thai was good + Tom Kha soup had lots of mushroom which I liked + Papaya salad was perfect = Kids fried rice was just ok Wish they had more options like boat noodles soup but for a quick nearby dinner it's still good and hits the spot. read more

We are new to the area and my husband picked up from here a few months ago. I didn't like it but tonight we decided to give it another chance by dining in. Unfortunately, we were disappointed again. The good: they can accommodate vegetarians, looks clean, nice ambience. The bad: portions are on the smaller side, they are stingy with the tofu and vegetables. The flavor is lacking in everything we ordered: Pad ke mao, pad Thai, stir fried vegetables (lots of onions but less real vegetables), papaya salad and mango spring rolls. We have been meaning to try this place for a while finally found time to stop by for lunch last weekend. Place has beautiful decor, we were promptly seated. We ordered Yellow Curry Fried Rice with Chicken spice level 3 Basil fries Rice with tofu spice level 3 and Drunken noodles spice level 0 for kids. Yellow curry fried rice was delicious and spice level was on par for 3 while basil fried fell short on the spice level Drunken noodles on the hand for no spice had great flavors, kids enjoyed them. I ordered the Pad Thai (spice level 10) out of their scale of 4. I know, I'm such a rebel to order outside of their scale. I was asked if I was sure and told them to make it thai hot! It did not disappoint. We also ordered appetizers: edamame, pot stickers and spring rolls. Their green curry also comes highly recommended. I throughly enjoyed the spice and flavors of the dish. Presentation of the dishes and the ambiance were excellent. Service was really good. We got our drinks refilled multiple times, the manager came by to say hello and our waitress was on top of her game. They even sang happy birthday to me and made a dessert just for me. This newly built Thai restaurant is gorgeous. It has a decent sized bar and offers Happy Hour. The chairs were cozy and fancy that I would feel guilty if my kiddos got them dirty. Each table was adorned with a yellow rose. Cute touch! Our server was sweet and friendly. She surprised me with Beef Panang and it's the best Thai Beef Curry I have ever had. I usually don't choose beef because you never know about the texture. The beef was tender, moist, and succulent, and the curry was packed with flavor. The other dishes we tried were delicious but nothing stood up to the Beef Panang. Yum! Oh, when you ask for spicy, they will give you spicy. We were thankful for that. We have been wanting to try this place out for some time now, and have finally gotten around to do so. Coming in I noticed the refreshing atmosphere, very vibrant and modernly designed. We were welcomed in by the kind employees, and quickly served. We had ordered level 4, spicy panang beef curry and Pa Sa Ew, both were delicious. The beef in the panang was very soft and tender, and the sauce filled it with flavor. The paseew was in great proportion, and had a perfect balance in flavors. The inside is clean, bright, and instagram worthy. Our server was very nice and attentive. Unfortunately my praises end there. The food was lacking flavor...we had their 2 most popular dishes, panang curry and drunken noodle (pad kee mao). My husband and i grew up in seattle with a vibrant southeast asian and thai community so I would say we know good thai food. The pad kee mao was 4 stars and not very spicy. My curry didn't taste right..and the chicken had a weird spongy texture. I ended up packing most of my curry to take home because i couldnt stomach eating much of it. It wasn't worth the calories! Sabaidee up in prosper has better curry and better noodles by far. The ambiance at sabaidee is lacking so if you take my suggestion make sure to do take out. I had high hopes based off the good reviews of thai spice, but it was really disappointing. Another chain that has a similar interior vibe to thai spice and delicious thai food is asian mint. This is a nice little addition to the neighborhood. Lively ambiance while still feeling cozy. Staff were friendly as well. Unfortunately the Food was somewhere between Ok and good to be honest. The Papaya salad was nice and had a good kick (spice level 3), the crab fried rice was decent (lots of lump crab meat but lacked flavor), Thai spice cat fish was cooked nicely with a thin layer of crispness but the house chili sauce that accompanied it didn't feel very Thai at all. Beef Penang curry was also okay, the sauce was nice but the meat just felt meh. The mango sticky rice was weak. The sticky rice felt hard and dry (Valentine's Day batch?) and the mango wasn't ripe enough. The Chang beer was nice and cold. All in all decent spot but not rushing back here anytime soon though! read more

I went to Thai Spice Restaurant last week on a working day with friends from work. It was amazingly fresh and clean and j loved the atmosphere and their decor. New restaurant in the area that I've been wanting to try for awhile. One evening I dragged the hubby out with me to give it a go. When you first walk in there is a bar to the left with a great happy hour. We ended up shooting towards the back. Our waitress was very attentive to us as Hubby is a picky eater. I ordered my favorite Thai dish Pad Kee Mow at medium spice. I didn't know what the level of spice they would be so I error on the side of caution. When my dish came out it was delicious. The flavors were there and the spice wasn't over powering. I also ordered a mango sticky rice dessert. Now before I start this next part please understand I am partial to mango sticky rice as it was my favorite dish when I was in Thailand. So when it arrived it was just ok to me. The flavors were just decent but not mind blowing. I enjoyed the presentation of it though. I came back a few weeks later and ordered the crab fried rice just to make sure that the dishes were still good. When I tell you this dish crab fried rice is my new favorite from this restaurant. I recently had the pleasure of dining solo at Thai Spice over in Frisco, right off the Dallas Parkway. You know, it's not every day I decide to treat myself, but I'm glad I did. The place has a pretty cozy feel to it, nice decor, and even a small bar area where you can sit and watch the world go by. I started off with a Lemon Drop Martini, it was just the right mix of sweet & tart. Tried a Mai Tai too, but it was a bit on the weaker side for my taste. For my main dish, I went with the Pad Thai with shrimp. Now, I've had my fair share of Pad Thai in my time, and this one ranks up there. Good flavor, fresh shrimp. The menu there is pretty extensive, a lot of choices. I reckon it would take quite a few visits to work your way through, but everything sounds tempting. My waiter was on the ball, friendly without being overbearing, and made sure I had everything I needed. It's that kind of attention that makes you want to come back. read more

Bottom line - the food is good, people nice, and restaurant small, but clean and nice. I have gotten takeout here twice since they have opened and they are 1 mile closer to us than Manee Thai. Knowing there is another Thai restaurant a mile away, my review is really a comparison. Thai Spice's dishes are fresh, flavorful, and in general taste as good, maybe a slight better than Manee Thai. The reason I cannot give 5-stars is because the portions are smaller AND the prices are higher than their direct competition 1 mile down the service road. I would be fine paying the higher price for the food if the portion was the same, but to be more expensive for less food just does not sit right with me. They also have a smaller menu, so less options. The restaurant is small, but very clean and nice, being a new building, and the staff is very attentive and polite. I did not try any cocktails, but their bar seems to put together some creative cocktails. If you do not mind smaller portions, higher prices, and you want a nice cocktail with your food, Thai Spice is the place. read more

Good, presentation was beautiful. Orange chicken was pretty, BUT...it looked like chicken with light brown gravy. $17 I think, did not eat. Would NOT order it again.
