Papadi chaat
Shubha S.

This place is quite small and with basic seating, not much of am ambiance. One of the walls features celebrities from Chandigarh. We went on a week night and we were the only customers. We orfered the papadi chaat as a starter, it was average. For dinner, we ordered paneer hariyali tikka and Amritsari kulcha. The paneer tikka was okay, the onions and bell pepper were barely grilled giving a raw taste and texture. The Amritsari kulcha was impressive! It came with chana and yogurt. It tasted great and the serving is huge. I would go back just for that! The prices seemed a bit high for the kind of place it is, as the entrees don't even come with rice.

It was my first time here and second time having Indian food. It was amazing! My xo workers ordered the plates. The service was great and the food was so delicious! The lemon soda was a perfect , light compliment of a drink

Chole Bathure

Absolutely loved this place! The food was out of this world, hands down the best and most authentic Punjabi food I've had in Frisco. It's a hidden gem, a real hole-in-the-wall spot that serves flavors you just can't find anywhere else!

Me and my wife tried out this place even though it had very less reviews, but every review was 5 star. And the food totally deserves that rating. I crave their biryani's, they give their special twist to them and they are not over the top spicy which has always been my problem with restaurant biryanis. They make deserts to weekly. You can get or order madata kaaja, badushaw, double ka meetha and their jalebis are my favorite. I know I sound like I am an employee there, but the reason I know so much is because they treat me so specially. The service is great and special, they remember you, they treat you like a friend who is visiting the place. This might be the norm since this a new branch, so go there before the place gets busy. The place is built a takeways so ambiance is not extravagant by any means and seating is limited so enjoy their food and not consider the ambience. We also ordered food for a party we hosted. Veg pakoda, chicken pakodi, veg korma, chicken biryani, jalebi and a few more items. Everyone like ld their food and took their contact.

We had another great meal at Panj Tara!…read more This time we had gone for their Weekend buffet lunch and since we reached just as they started serving we had the entire area almost to ourselves and the whole dining area was quiet, spic and span. Started off with loading up a plateful of small portions of the different vegetarian options and almost all of them were prepared well. Best liked dishes were the Paneer Tikka Masala and the Kadhi with those lovely Pakodas. The Tandoori Rotis served were hot, hot, light and fluffy and were very tasty while also complementing the main dishes completely. The Peas Pulao were a let down and it was not made fresh but the Plain Basmati Rice was wonderfully fresh and prepared well. I personally did not like the Tandoori Chicken as the pieces seemed have been made earlier and only re-heated and served, The Shrimp Curry was so so and the seafood seemed to have been slightly over cooked. The Chicken Do Pyaza was quite flavorful and the meat had been cooked to perfection - soft, succulent, fall-off the Bone and well marinated into the Do Pyaaza stew. I did also like the fresh sliced onions with the Punjabi house-made Achaar served as an accompaniment, which was wonderful! Finally we also tried the different desserts - the Sheera was ok but we loved the Jalebi and Fruit Custard. All in all a good value for money! We will come back for another round soon!

Very creamy and flavorful, and the chicken was so incredibly tender Tikka Masala - 5/5 basically it's the butter chicken plus bell peppers and onions. I didn't think it could get better than the butter chicken but that's exactly how to make it better, in my book. Naan - 3/5. One of the weaker naans in the area. Can't tell that the butter naan has any butter on it and it's not very fluffy. Rice - 2/5. I just want plain rice on the side. Whatever I got had far too much going on and I didn't like the flavor when trying to eat my curry. Chicken 65 - 5/5 absolutely spot on delicious. Interior - 2/5. Typical for this genre of restaurant...this is not the sort of place I'd want to dine in. You certainly can, but it's lacking on the interior. I picked up my second order from here and would not recommend dining in. Service - N/A since I did not dine in. Price - 4/5 Overall I'm super excited about this being my new takeout place. I've tried a lot of basic white girl Indian dishes around the area and this one is by far the best. I just wish their naan was better and their rice was plain. Realistically I should give the place a 4/5 for that, but their chicken tikka is just that good.

The dish was inedible due to excessive salt and spice, leaving my guests hungry and forcing me to throw the food away. Surprise! they seated us with no problem - in part because they have lots of seating, but also the stiffest competition was for outside seating. I guess I would describe Shiva's decor as funky, modern Indian - very cozy, inviting and unmistakenly Indian. The staff were excellent - friendly, efficient, & kind. We were immediately seated and then had a discussion about the various menu options. I got a a large Taj Mahal beer (it's been a while) and the lamb Chettinadu with paneer added. I went with 9/10 spice level and was chastened to see it described as "American Hot" on the receipt. My wife did a mild, lamb Nilgiri and the garlic naan. Our waiter's guidance was spot on! We really enjoyed everything. My Chettinadu was rich, earthy, and complex - I would definitely order it again (after I try out some of their other offerings). The paneer addition was a really good move. The spice level was perfect - for the first 3 bites I was wondering if I should have upped it, but by bite 4 it was game on. It was spicy excellence that was not overwhelming. My wife was also impressed by her Nilgiri - she said it reminded her of a green mole from Mexico. I look forward to returning to Shiva's - great ambiance, service and food at reasonable prices - what more can you ask for? You should do yourself a favor and visit them too.

The other item was the chili coriander wings which were not that spicy. They were served dry with a dusting of spice powder. Again subtle flavor. It was served with mango chutney which was needed as they were a tad dry. It was a good meal. I would definitely like to try some of their other pizzas but maybe not the wings.
