I've been having a hard time finding a bakery that makes laminated pastries since moving to the North Texas area from Denver (think Bakery Four and Black Box Bakery) and this bakery hits the spot. The typical bakeries in this area (Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen etc) are often chains, and focus on soft breads such as donuts and cakes, with the token boring croissant, and the Asian bakeries (also chains) offer a completely different style of breads, so to finally come across a place with innovative crisp laminated pastries is a treat! Note - they do not sell breads. I visited on a Friday morning around 8am and although there were only two people ahead of me in line, they were already out of almond croissants and I took the last sausage roll on display (but the bakers were probably baking more). There was a continuous flow of people in and out. The location is definitely set up to be a to-go place and NOT somewhere you come to sit and eat. No ambiance. No need to bring the friends and family, just send someone to buy a box of treats and enjoy at home. Being in a strip-mall complex, parking is easy. read more

Had this place bookmarked for a while and finally got to try it. Man, am I disappointed. I came in for the almond croissant, because I have yet to find one that I like as much as my fave one in Vegas. While the croissant itself here was good, the almond paste filling was lacking and I wish there were more almonds on the crust. The Nutella suisse pastry was also good but the Nutella filling was sparse as well. The garlic croissant had a sweet filling?! The only pastry I enjoyed was the mango yogurt cream, because I love mango anything. Walking in, the interior was not very welcoming. It had an industrial building feel to it. There's just a few seating on the side but there's room to add more. The place does not make you want to stay and enjoy your coffee and pastry and perhaps that's the intention. Tried this place 3x. Overall, not worth the price/drive. If I had to, I WOULD recommend the mango, red bean, egg tart, and regular croissant. Their pastries are flakey on the outside only, often dry inside, yet no butter taste; they probably use margarine or mediocre butter? NOT fan of their: Nutella (dry), Ganache (dry), Beef Sausage (super salty). As a pastry lover, I'd much recommend D'Caramel in Southlake if you're gonna spend $4-6 each. Theirs are flakey and buttery (like they use premium real butter). Agree that their interior and service are meh. I'm usually fine if their food is worth it but they aren't. read more

I felt like a drug deal was going down as I said,"Get me two from the back." What was I referring to? Their almond croissants that had been completely sold out when I visited a day prior. I know it makes no sense that I was on my way to the gym, but let's just say this is cheat day worthy. The ambiance of this establishment would benefit from wide plank wood paneling flooring to give it that real Parisian vibe. Right now, it's just a concrete pick-up and go space. Seating is on the right side but sparse. The clerk is sweet and had sympathy when offering options or checking in the back for items I wanted to order. I love how they have a great balance of savory and sweet pastries. The portions are large. Almond croissant had a flaky crust and soft dense inside. There was some aftertaste from the scent in the bakery itself. It's not bad but I'm not sure if it's an extract they add to the pastry itself. This place works with limited quantities so when something is sold out....it's gone. I just think if they see a need for slightly more inventory they should bake more. I get the hype. HUMONGOUS and beautiful pastries for less than $5 each? Insane. I came around 9:30AM, and most of their cult favorites had sold out. However, you can order online before 5PM and your order will be ready for pick up the following day. I got the creme brulee donut, chocolate croissant, and creamy croissant. Everything was delicious, but the creamy croissant is a must order. The cream is so soft and light, and it pairs so well with the beautifully made pastry. McKinney gem right here! read more

I have to update my review! Again, hands down this is my favorite spot! Today I saw they had egg tarts and I couldn't resist. And first bite...heaven! It was perfectly flaky with the phyllo dough crust, buttery, and the egg custard was not too sweet and had the creamiest texture. Angels made this. They didn't know they were speaking my love language. I will pass up any cake, donut, cookie, dessert for a French pastry any day of the week. This place takes those pastries to a level you'd never dream. I tried the cream croissant, almond crossiant, kouign amann, strawberry cream, cookie craffle (I may have made that name up), and some kind of croissant filled with caramel. My favorites were the cream croissant followed by the strawberry and cream one, with the kouign amann, the cookie waffle thing coming in at a close third and fourth. The second visit (DO NOT JUDGE) less than a month later I got something new. It was a waffle croissant and the holes were filled with the most perfect gooey but so slightly chewy caramel. I wish I remembered the name. Dang was perfect... the best ever!! The caramel waffle is my official favorite. Thank you Cremcrittos for bringing me such joy. This review is based on a to-go order. My first impression of them was extremely good! My family had ordered a variety, but I had looked forward to trying their Kouignn-amann. The last time I had one was from Village Baking Company, and since then I have fallen in love with this particular baked good. It tastes essentially like a caramelized, rich croissant with layers of pastry and butter and sugar between each layer. Oh yeah, it's as delicious as it sounds. Luckily this bakery had exceeded my expectations on my fixated treat. The size was more than generous, and I would argue that their pastry is just as sweet and buttery as I would have expected! A friend recommended that we try their cronuts but also gave me the heads up if I arrive "too late" in the morning that certain pastries will be sold out. As they bake only certain amount of each of their pastry. I recommend to come either very early on a weekend or make an online order the day before 5pm to schedule pick up for the next day. So far I have been lucky to get everything I want as long as I arrive before 9am on a weekday. But even then I feel like I am clearly up their shelved as I'm getting their last cinnamon sugar cronuts and crème brûlée My personal favorite is their Cronut and almond croissant. My kids love their crème brûlée. Their Cronut is layered beautifully. If you would cut your pastry into halves you can see all the layers. It's buttery on the inside but crispy (not flaky) on the outside. The perfect balance of sweetness and other flavors if you get their fruit tart or almond croissant. These pastries were amazing, I got the crème brulee donut, milk chocolate cronut, strawberry cheesecake Danish, pistachio yogurt danish, and the gianduja cruffin which is basically hazelnut and was also my favorite! If you want to find the quintessential croissant, you need to get it from here! This is the only place in DFW that made my husband say the croissant reminded him of France. He knows as he worked there for a bit. I pretty much had given up finding airy flaky crunchy flavorful croissants in Texas until I stepped into Cremcrittos. You can smell the butter in the air the minute you walk in. You can't go wrong with anything here, literally. Just grab what you can.
