Cozy little place for some Indian/middle eastern street food and teas. Wish the furnitures didn't look so dated though. But the teas were tasty. I had the Iranian antioxidant tea, it was pretty good. My friends had kadak hai, they seemed to love it. We had onion pakoras, falafel, chat, and pani puri with our tea and they all were good. A nice place to hang out with friends. They have other variety of entrees, will try another time.

Finally a chai spot that's not a hole in the wall with amazing food too! A wonderful alternative to traditional coffee shops, it's quaint and has eclectic decor all around. You walk in, order, and are guided to seating. The menus got a great selection of paratha items, including one of the best tasting Malai Chicken Boti Roll I've had. They also had an excellent Tawa Chicken that left me licking my fingers! They also have a few chai variations as well but if you're not so adventurous you can stick to the traditional Kayak! Overall a really great experience! I highly recommend it and will be coming back for more!

I've been here twice now and the food and tea has been fantastic. They have created a nice ambiance and judging by the amount of people here the place is definitely off to a good start. The only downer was they were out of some items by 8pm on a saturday so hopefully once they get their rhythm things like that won't happen. They could also use some better signage as to the MO. Basically walk in order first then they assign you a table/ seating area. They have a variety of seating options from couches to high tables and lounge style coffee tables and it's a fun, vibrant ambiance. Mucho recommend!

Had the pleasure of trying out this place today for an early dinner with my niece (a very picky eater) and I'm so glad I was able to stop by! The food and service are 10/10 and the ambiance is even higher! It's one of the cutest Pakistani restaurants I've ever been to outside of Pakistan, and it totally makes sense that the owner is a female the moment you walk in. She has put in amazing attention to detail into the quality of the food as well as the interior. I ordered the seekh kabab which is not your traditional seekh kabab, but much more juicy and comes cooked in a tomato sauce or "curry" that complimented the meat well. My niece ordered the kids chicken nuggets which she very much enjoyed and the highlight of both of our meals was the amazing mango lassi. I can see myself coming back for the mango lassi alone! I placed a to-go order for my sister and took a bite from her behari beef roll and wanted to kick myself for not ordering one of my own. We both thoroughly enjoyed it as well. So refreshing coming across such a great representation of Pakistani food, I hope to return and try out the variety of chai's that they have to offer.

    Kadak chai! Is burned

Tea is burned, we came for lunch. Chicken pulao was amazing! The staff will not replace kadak chai with another tea. Low on staff, raita came after 10 mins, by that time we were almost done with the rice entree.

We came here for the first time on Saturday evening around 9pm. The decor here was very pretty and unique. However, the ordering and seating procedure was a mess. They put 'reserved' signs on seating areas so you can't just order a drink and find a seat. You can see from my pictures open seating spaces but they have 'reserved' signs so you can't seat there. You order then wait for a table to become available, that's why a lot of people just standing and crowding around the front area near the register. No beeper they yell out your name. We ended up taking our drinks to go, and the chai were just okay.

Our Chai Wallah adventure in Plano left us enchanted from the moment we stepped inside. The intricately designed ambiance felt like a warm embrace from a dear family friend, and we were tempted to take off our shoes in sheer respect for the inviting setting! The Sips and Savors: Fresh Limca: A fizzy delight with a touch of savory chat masala. Refreshingly minty and limey, though a tad overpriced at $6. Rating: 3/5 Rooh Afza Chiller: A generous serving for sweet-toothed souls. Enjoyable, but something you can whip up at home. Rating: 3.5/5, priced at $4.99 Irani Chai: A flavor explosion! Rich and not overly sweet, with the distinct jaggery flavor shining through. A perfect 5/5, and wallet-friendly at $3.99. Mango Lassi: Creamy, but we craved a bolder mango essence. Reminiscent of melted mango kulfi. Rating: 3.5/5, priced at $6.99 Kashmiri Chai: Absolutely loved it, a perfect 5/5! Mango Falooda: Enjoyable, though the odd texture left our mouths a bit dry. Rating: 3/5 Samosa Chaat: A spicy delight with a refreshing yogurt balance - an undeniable 5/5. Papdi Chaat: A delightful blend of sour and spicy, truly excellent! Similar to samosa chaat, but less spicy and more tangy. Rating: 5/5 Loaded Nachos (beef): Really good, but we wished for more fillings. Uneven distribution left us with plain nachos at times, still tasty. Rating: 4/5 Samosa Plate (chicken): $8.99 for three samosas felt steep. Flavorsome, but seasoning inconsistency with two being under-salted and one well-seasoned. Rating: 2/5 Chicken Seek Kabab Roll: Tasty and wrapped in a paratha, but more sauce would be great. The delightful fries complemented the dish! Pricey at $12.99. Rating: 3.5/5 Additional Thoughts: Some online reviews were overly harsh - we must cherish the full experience and celebrate the diversity of Desi food. South Asia's cuisines offer an array of flavors, from creamy coconut-based tropical delicacies to aromatic fenugreek-infused delights, each showcasing unique charm. Despite the warmth, Chai Wallah delivered on its name with exceptional tea offerings. Noteworthy: The cafe serves halal food, making it a fantastic choice for halal seekers. Overall, a pleasant visit that beckons us back in winter for a cozy cup of chai by their inviting fireplace! Overall Rating: 3.5/5 Price: 3.5/5 (Affordable compared to other cafes) Location & Aesthetic: 10/5 (Absolutely stunning!) p.s: If you're curious to see a video of our delightful visit, check it out on my Instagram account @chaifullyyours

Against my better judgment we visited Chai Wallah because some friends had heard about the ambiance. First off the ambiance is nothing but a whole lot of wall decor in front of which people can take selfies. The service was good as in we were able to get seated promptly in on of their sofas...no regular tables here which is a welcome change. The food unfortunately was incredibly disappointing. We ordered several chais including masala chai ...mediocre at best with a ton of milk but no depth in flavor. With a name like chai Wallah (and the price) you'd expect nicer cups like say earthenware traditional cups like in India...but it's just cheap IKEA cups. The food was even more disappointing...mediocre and tiny portions. For reference, the Kathi roll shown in my picture is 1/3rd the whole serving. Again lacked flavor or freshness. Overall rather underwhelming...skip unless you want to come only for Instagram pics because the food is certainly not worth it.

We came here for Iftar and left unsatisfied. Most of what we ordered was very salty. We ordered a variety of rolls, pani puri, pakoras, Kashmiri chai, and falooda. The best thing that everyone enjoyed was the falooda. The bun kabob we ordered was cold in the middle of the patty, all the other meat dishes were salty - but tender. Service could have been better. The staff answered our questions with their own questions. We asked for raita and were given plain yogurt. Potato pakoras were so thinly cut, we were eating mostly the batter - although the chutney was really good. Fun ambiance and photo opps. I would go back for the falooda but not the food.

Lots of the items were not available from the menu at all . Most of the seating was marked as 'reserved' when clearly no one used those seats for the 1.5 hours our group was there . The seats weren't comfortable. The hot irani chai was served with a plastic straw in it ! The decor is good and location . Needs more chai variety like ginger tea or masala tea . Hoping they work on these points.

Started off with loading up a plateful of small portions of the different vegetarian options and almost all of them were prepared well. Best liked dishes were the Paneer Tikka Masala and the Kadhi with those lovely Pakodas. The Tandoori Rotis served were hot, hot, light and fluffy and were very tasty while also complementing the main dishes completely. The Peas Pulao were a let down and it was not made fresh but the Plain Basmati Rice was wonderfully fresh and prepared well. I personally did not like the Tandoori Chicken as the pieces seemed have been made earlier and only re-heated and served, The Shrimp Curry was so so and the seafood seemed to have been slightly over cooked. The Chicken Do Pyaza was quite flavorful and the meat had been cooked to perfection - soft, succulent, fall-off the Bone and well marinated into the Do Pyaaza stew. I did also like the fresh sliced onions with the Punjabi house-made Achaar served as an accompaniment, which was wonderful! Finally we also tried the different desserts - the Sheera was ok but we loved the Jalebi and Fruit Custard. All in all a good value for money! We will come back for another round soon!

If you really know Indian food, you know there are levels to this. Most places serve what I lovingly call Campbell's Soup Tikka Masala. Super sweet, neon red, one note, wrong color, wrong consistency. Basically tomato soup with sugar and turmeric pretending to be a masala. It fills you up, but it doesn't make you pause and savor anything. Spice Grove Indian Cuisine is not that place. This is the real deal. The flavors are layered, balanced, and clearly cooked with intention. Not overly sweet, not dumbed down, just full of garlic, spice, depth, and that unmistakable "this was done right" feeling you get when Indian food is executed properly. We ordered a spread, saag, tikka masala, butter chicken, korma, vindaloo, garlic naan, and honestly there wasn't a weak dish on the table. Everything had the right color, the right texture, and the right punch of flavor. This is food you slow down for. I won't say this is the single best Indian food I've ever had, I reserve that for a few heavy hitters like Dishoom and Brigadiers in London and Chola in New York City. But if those are 10s, this is a very solid 8.5, and that is high praise. They're busy for a reason. You cannot go wrong here. If you love Indian food, or want to understand why people love Indian food, just go. You'll leave happy and probably already planning your next visit.
