What an amazing experience! As someone who has done a TON of mediocre teambuilding and engagement activities, I cannot recommend chef tre enough. His ability to engage our large and diverse group while making it a fun and memorable experience for all was extremely impressive. Even people who normally roll their eyes at these sorts of activities were participating and having a great time. It didn't matter if you were an experienced chef, a novice, a senior leader, or a newbie on the team....everyone loved it! His location was a bit out-of-the-way for our company and took us about a half hour to drive to (which is not a distance we normally travel for dinners/activities). On the way there, some people were complaining about how far away it was, but THE MOMENT chef tre started talking with everyone there was zero additional mention of the drive (and it wasn't mentioned again a single time after the fact). Each group was provided a mystery box of chicken thighs, and mahi-mahi for protein. We also had broccoli, orange, marmalade, rosemary, and black beans. We all had fun, laughing along with Tre. My employer arranged a team outing at Tre Cooking Concepts, it was a lot of fun! We split up in teams and had a cook off. They gave us a handful of mandatory ingredients and you had to cook two different dishes but use all the ingredients and no googling for recipes, the point is that you have to be creative as a team. We had to come up with different dishes using pork loin filets, I thought they came out pretty good even though we didn't win. Chef Tre was there and very involved which made it fun. He told some stories, joked around, tried some of your food etc. After all the teams were done, he graded the dishes based on creativity, flavor and presentation. The other teams could sample whatever food was left. We also had a lunch included which included shrimp with grits appetizer. This dish was awesome, great flavor and just enough heat and the shrimp had good flavor and was cooked perfectly. They also served a chicken dish which was good and had macarons and assorted cupcakes as dessert. Everyone loved the outing. We had a corporate team building event with 20 people at Tre's and every single person thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Lots of smiles, laughs and delicious food was enjoyed. The cooking competition lasted 38 minutes from start to finish, which is not much time to complete 2 unique dishes, but it was so much fun and Tre helped the teams that were stuck or struggling. I was the judge of the competition and the food was surprisingly good that my colleagues prepared (except for the undercooked shrimp that Tre shielded me from). The dinner and dessert that Tre served were delicious and perfectly portioned. We brought our own drinks and Tre's staff provided the stemware and served them. After dessert, Tre gave his assessment of every single competitor in the cooking challenge and was surprisingly spot on for each and every person. It was extremely entertaining. Tre also, unexpectedly, had a photo booth set up for us to use, which was a nice addition. I will be telling other groups at my company about the experience and would love to participate in another event at Tre's. read more

This was an awesome experience. I've been a fan of Tre Wilcox for years, and my dining/cooking partner is a REAL fan, having followed his career through all of its incarnations. The venue is substantially a large room with beautiful dining tables and hightop chairs, and four cooking stations featuring gas ranges, lots of counter space and all necessary tools/hardware/spices/foods. The package that we selected features an ingredient that the meal will center around (ours was hatch chiles), and either Tre or one of his other chefs will accompany the participants in groups of four at the workstations. A meal is prepared with guidance and some participation by the chef, but they like to really show the participants how to do it, and not do it for them. Our chef, Brendan, showed us tips on knife technique, chicken thigh preparation and a host of other tidbits as we went about preparing our meals. After preparation, the participants head to the tables and feast upon the fruits of their labor. Our meal was fantastic, and quite frankly, would have probably cost between a 1/3 and half of the cost of the class, so you're really getting a great meal with a modest premium for getting to have the experience and the chef's know-how to help. We didn't use recipes, and a lot of the teaching involved learning how to cook like that. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious, and made fantastic final dishes. We had participants with all levels of experience in cooking, and the class accommodates this very well. We got to speak with and visit the chefs as well as Tre himself for quite a while - they basically had to kick us out when it was time to go! In short, this was a fantastic experience and I can highly recommend it. Tre and his staff are top notch and strive to make it a fun evening for everyone. read more

Chef Tre did a fantastic job cooking for our group, including many children. Every course was beyond expectation. He provided an experience that will not be forgotten by any of our guests. Chef Tre put together a menu we were thrilled with from the shrimp and slider appetizers to the filet mignon entree, with sides that were perfectly matched. His risotto is legendary by the way! Chef Tre is full of personality, very professional and extremely comfortable running the show in the kitchen during events. I recently had the chance to help plan a corporate team event at Tre Cooking Concepts and it was such a hit! I had several people come up to me after the event and tell me how much fun they had and how they enjoyed something that's different than the 'typical' team building events. We have some pretty competitive people on our team so we knew that the "Chopped Challenge" would be perfect for our team. We had over 30 people come and we divided into four teams. We were given 40 minutes to cook two dishes consisting of the proteins given, along with two other 'mandatory' ingredients. There was also a 'pantry' of basic ingredients for us to use (things like spices, milk, flour, etc). We had to work together to divvy up kitchen duties (non-cookers like me chopped and plated while those who are a bit more savvy in the kitchen ended up manning the stove tops) and it was so much fun (and often surprising) to discover who the in group had fancy techniques up their sleeves! After the competition, Chef Tre and his team judged the dishes while we enjoyed a terrific lunch (of food that was NOT prepared by us, ha!)-- we had salad, pork, cheese grits, roasted veggies, sliders, and fried chicken. All of it was delicious! After the judges were done, Chef Tre did a great job of going through each team's dishes, highlight successes and offering advice on how to correct mistakes that were made. The winning team even got a really nice prize. While the event itself was a lot of fun, the team at Tre Cooking Concepts really brought it home. Chef Tre has a big personality and was so much fun. He talked to all of us throughout the event and was really personable. Kenny, the Sales Director, was fantastic to work with from start to finish. I communicated with him throughout the process and he was always super friendly and responsive, no matter it if was via email, telephone, or in person. There's already another group from our company hosting an event at TCC next month and I will definitely continue to recommend this venue for team events! read more
