We made the most amazing meal, and we learned so much as well. My husband is a foodie and loves to cook, so I was slightly worried he would be like this is lame. NO WAY - Chef Rose and my husband chatted about olive oil and spices... Chef Rose helped guide me with tips and tricks in the kitchen. I would take several more classes and we plan to! Wall Hoop Craft class which was taught by Maddie. Maddie walked us through how to make the wall decor, as well as shared tips and tricks with preserving flowers. We took turns, cutting the supplies and picking out the dried flowers for the arrangement. Salt and Light provided light snacks and drinks which was a nice gesture. Our two instructors were amazing. We all couldn't help but be pulled into the experience by their enthusiasm, skill, and obvious love of what they do. The time flew by as we laughed, learned, and came away with cherished memories. The class was nothing short of perfect. Spotless stations were waiting for us with pre-measured ingredients, utensils, and generous space for us to work. The instructions were given to us in easily digestible portions with our facilitators making certain we were all doing what we should. Each step flowed seamlessly into the next with us creating delicious treats we were proud of. I was honestly surprised at how adeptly they handled a rowdy bunch like us and managed to keep us on track without any of us feeling as if we were being taught. Unfortunately, the ovens were not working properly, so our macarons for our whole group of 11 people were all either under or over cooked. Mine were extremely overcooked. They were very hard and chewy. For $79 this is unacceptable. They could have offered us a replacement class or a pickup order of new fresh macaroons, but we were simply told "sorry, it happens sometimes". Everyone else has such great reviews and photos on Yelp, so I'm really sad I did not get that same experience. I totally understand that things happen, but for $79 I expected edible macaroons to take home, and instead I got hard rocks that needed to be thrown away.
