I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this place. It is very unusual to find such an authentic Vietnamese cuisine restaurant in an all Americanized area. The broth of the pho was impeccable, the shrimp spring rolls were on point, and most importantly, they have the three bean dessert that you can only find in a handful of Vietnamese restaurants/grocery stores! The dessert was a little sweet for my taste, but I'm just happy to find something so delicious that's close to home. Usually, I'd have to travel down to Richardson to find something similar. We have been to Crystal Pho three times. The people are so nice and attentive, and the noodle dishes (bun) are fantastic. I like the pho at Thai Box or Pho is for Lovers better, but this is a good neighborhood treasure that we will continue to frequent. I'd like it more if they had more vegan options, but nevertheless it's quality food. read more

I came with friends for dinner. I ordered the Thai Iced Tea, Vietnamese Egg Roll, and the Curry Chicken Rice Noodle bowl (small portion). The iced tea was good (pretty much what you get everywhere), but the egg rolls and Curry Chicken Rice Noodle Bowl were so delicious!! The lime, Thai basil, bean sprouts with the addition of Hoisin and Sriracha made my bowl so flavorful. The kick from the spice was powerful, but right on! I loved the entire meal. The only thing that prevented me from giving a 5-star rating was that my mouth was on fire and I asked the waiter for water and waited a long time, but it got so busy he forgot. Okay. I enjoy the Pho. It is good and I would give it 4 stars. Not the best, but very good. Where Crystal Pho misses for me is on some of the other dishes. Many of the noodle dishes come with way too many onion slices and are just okay. The noodle dishes and appetizers are pretty normal for most places. This is a small place 12-15 tables. Cheap and delicious! The broth has a great flavor and the meat is tender (I had pho with brisket and flank). They have a huge menu, and I tried my friend's curry noodle bowl and thought it was better (nice heat, not too salty). I can't wait to go back, as I love a good pho place. I also tried the tapioca in coconut milk--I wouldn't get it again. This place had great reviews so we decided to give it a try. My husband and I both got beef pho. I had round eye steak and he had flank. Both were good. I got a large and he got an extra large. We ate and ate and ate...and it didn't look like we put a dent in it. I should have asked for it to go but didn't think that was possible. I think they actually do have to go containers for soup. We went on a Sat at 2pm and the place was still surprisingly full. It's a small space so I can only imagine was it gets like at peak times. It's not fancy but it's clean and the staff are friendly. Great service great food. We were greeted and seated the first few seconds of walking in the door. The waitress gave a lot of great suggestions on the menu and then gave us time to decide. The food came out in a timely manner and are mouth was watering with each bite. The noodles in our chicken stir fry were cooked perfectly with a great kick and flavor to them. We also had the pho which was great. Super flavorful and lived all the textures. Definitely will go back for another delicious meal. read more

Very good Spring Rolls, Pho (I had eye of round steak only; there are about a dozen protein combinations) and iced coffee with condensed milk! A small restaurant, there is a wait during lunch time, so if tight on time to-go is fast. Otherwise, a relatively short wait with the system being "who's next?". Everybody is friendly and efficient, customers, waiters, busboys, cashier. Although you'll get a menu while waiting, there's no pressure to order, eat or leave. You better be sure of what you order because while waiting for your order, you'll see many other orders pass by that you think "that looks good!". Non-soup platings are very appealing (I just ate and I'm talking myself into my next visit!). I don't know who I paid the bill to (could have been the owner), but I've never gotten a more sincere invitation to re-visit...and I will. read more

I like Pho Crystal a lot. It's a small, family-owned business, but it has always maintained its quality. I almost always order the beef Pho Tai, mainly because of the broth. It's savory with a sour tinge of lime juice. The chicken curry soup is also amazing. This place is almost always full, so you might have to wait for a table. This place is always busy. I recommend going little before 12 or after 1. It's very small. However, the pho is worth it. You typically don't have a server. Someone brings you water, and then takes your order, and then brings your food to the table. That is it! Overall, this place is great! read more
