My sisters introduced me to this place and it has been hard for any other restaurant to beat their yummy pho. Another thing that surprised me is how they really remember their customers, I went ONCE with my sister who does visit this place frequently and maybe like 10months later I call to place a to go order and when I go to pick up he quickly recognizes that I was her sister considering the fact it had been a while since my sister had gone and quickly made conversation. Food was really good, the prices were comparable to other similar restaurants. The service started out great and our waiter was so very helpful and knowledgeable. After your food is served it is pretty much self serve for to go items and you pay at the register. We waited awhile for help at the end, and I'm pretty sure one of the women working there was making not nice comments about me in her native language because I had to ask more than once for an item to take togo. Pho was really good and I'd give that 5/5. Service was also very good and everyone was very nice 5/5 also. Shrimp spring rolls were warm which I thought was a little gross. Definitely premade because it came out super fast, although I think it may have been made earlier in the day bc it did taste fresh. Reason for the low rating is atmosphere. It was so hot and humid. I don't like a lot of spice in my pho bc I don't like to sweat when I eat and I was sticky and sweaty from it being so hot and humid. Also the fans were SO dirty and dusty! Makes me wonder what their kitchen looks like. Floors definitely have not been swept, there were food crumbs and candy wrappers on the ground. We were 1 of 2 tables when we were and they had 4-5 people working on the floor so it's not like someone couldn't have cleaned it up. This place is terrible. I want my money and time back. The lady was nice at first it was hot and the guy working didn't even get up to seat us he just pointed at a table. He was non stop watching soccer letting his kid watch the most annoying app it was so loud and repeated the same thing over and over again we wanted to leave so bad it was like they owned the place but at least be nice to your costumers I would never be so rude then they made the worst strawberry milk boba drink with power it was terrible then my sister asked to get another one and she said no "that's what you ordered" after playing with her kid behind the counter ignoring us we will never go back. I gave her $2 but wish I gave her nothing the pork was terrible I enjoyed the spring rolls and vermicelli but wouldn't go back I know much better pho places it's sad they gave us the worst experience read more

This is by FAR the greatest little restaurant for Vietnamese! I have been going in for my fill of shrimp spring rolls, Pho and chicken/fried egg roll vermicelli for about 5 years...maybe longer. The family is incredibly nice and are always very welcoming, and are very willing to help with the menu if you've never had this type of Asian food. It's VERY clean and they have a few flat screens to keep you entertained if you're dining alone. I highly recommend eating here. read more

Pho Bistro, thanks for the wonderful experience during my stay in Carrollton TX. Coming from Los Angeles, I craved for Vietnamese dishes that were similar to what we have here so my adventure began in search for one that was satisfying to my taste. Took me 3 attempts to finally reach this restaurant and I loved it! The Good: Great fast service, friendly staff, and clean utensils! I took notice that they remembered their regular's names! The Bad: It gets pretty busy during dinner hours but that's expected for this well established family restaurant. Food: The Pho here was right on the money at a fair price compared restaurants in LA. The egg rolls were cooked fresh and HOT , unlike other places where they offer cheaper prices but warm egg rolls. sick! On my 2nd visit, I had their Bun (vermicelli) with charbroiled pork slices and that was greattttttt, just like how "mom" makes it! The dish gave me such memories when I took my first bite. yum! I would definitely recommend this place if you're visiting Carrollton or already living there because there's nothing better around. I LOVE Pho Bistro. I live in Denton, TX about a half hour away and we go quite regulary and order the P2 (Round Steak Pho) and grilled chicken spring rolls. The Pho is some of the best I have had...granted...I only order the basic type. We just wish they would build one in Denton. read more

i hate to give a family business a 2, but it is only in hopes that you might take into account my opinion and improve! my friend wanted to order the egg rolls, but 2 for 2.75? i know i can't ask for mind boggling prices like bistro b's 4 egg rolls for a dollar, but those are some extreme prices! we opted for the nem nuong goi cuon (because to me that's at least a bit more worth the price) and it was good, the dipping sauce was tasty too. i just thought it was odd there was no cucumber in the roll..but anywho... i got the fried cornish hen because 5 people raved to me about it. it is to my understanding that anything deep fried is delicious, but it was bland and the fried rice it was served on was even more bland! pass the nuoc mam, please! well, they had that going for them at least, the nuoc mam was good...for that dish they have a special very ginger-tastic nuoc mam which i was more than okay with, but i didn't understand what there was to love about the chicken/cornish hen!! my brother got BBH (bun bo hue) that was actually pho in disguise. let me tell you, it's hard to make a good bowl of BBH, but under no circumstances, if you know how to cook or not, should it taste like pho. it's not all bad though because the service is really good, and extremely good for a vietnamese restaurant. the staff was attentive and nice, but if i had to trade in nice person for a good plate of food, i would trade it immediately AND throw in a ship inside a bottle (napoleon dynamite, anyone?)! perhaps this place is more geared towards the untrained vietnamese palate, but even as your average food eater, i was very unsatisfied. i know it's got a great location in carrollton, but i would drive to beltline, i would drive to richardson before i ate here again. sorry homies, but you did me wrong. read more

This is my go to pho place. Great price and a nice big portion. The restaurant is super relaxed and my friends and I stayed there for hours every time we are there. The family recognizes us and remembers our orders. The food is delicious and if we are really hungry their bubble tea is worth it! We've never had the pho but love the grilled pork and grilled beef dishes, also lemon grass chicken. All with large portions. Pass on the egg rolls but the spring rolls are excellent. You probably have to ask for a fork if you want one and it would be nice if they brought out an extra plate when splitting an appetizer but I don't see how anyone could complain about the service here. This little bistro is the apple of my eye as far as hideaways go. Family owned and run. They go way out of their way to please and respect my patronage. The food always tastes great and the service is impeccable. Fast, fast, fast and friendly. Never had a dish I didn't like. I'm a vegetarian, I recommend the "tofu stir fry" but the whole fried Cornish hen is my husbands favorite. Their rice dishes are excellent, the soup is fabulous and always puts a smile on my face. It's just what the doctor ordered. Love the little handmade pickled radishes and carrots. It's also a great place to meet a friend and have a coffee or bubble tea in the afternoon. Bought the number 13 after waiting ten minutes for a server when the place was absolutely empty. My drink has been empty for 15 minutes and nobody has come up to the table to check on us. The broth is extremely weak and watered down. I asked specifically for no onions and got extra onions. The drinks are brought to me in cans. All in all not a great experience in general. I have been a regular customer at Pho Bistro pretty much since they first opened, eating there about twice a month. I have never had a bad dish--until this evening. I usually order fresh spring rolls and vermicelli with grilled pork and crispy egg roll. Tonight, on a whim, I also ordered Crab Rangoons, and it's a good thing I did because otherwise I would still be starving right now because the vermicelli was terrible. The pork and egg roll were ice cold. I arrived 10 minutes after placing my order on the phone, so that meat was probably "cooked" about a half hour or more before I even called. To make matters worse, there was no sauce with the vermicelli...so, cold undercooked pork, and cold dry noodles. Not eating that, not even feeding it to my dog. I tried to call them twice at 8:35--I know they close at 830, but when I was there at 8:10, the place was packed with customers, so I KNOW they were still there--they just didn't pick up the phone. They are closed tomorrow (Sunday) but can expect to see my not smiling face on Monday as soon as they open. They can either refund my money for that mess of a dish, or they can lose a customer who has spent at least $40 a month there for years. Their choice...I am very disappointed. read more

Absolutely my favorite pho restaurant, my husband and I come here once or twice a week. I love that it's family run, as there are few restaurants that still do so. It's got a family, home like feel with friendly faces and great service. Michael always takes care of us, always remembers our order, and overall always gives us incredible service. To be honest, I don't understand the poor reviews for the restaurant, I've been coming here for about five years now, and again have never experienced poor service. It's a medium sized room filled with plants and fans. It kind of feels like Vietnamese jungle or something. The tables are kind of greasy and nasty. The pho was pretty unremarkable even for the somewhat lower price. The broth was watery and there wasn't much meat. Service was pretty half hearted. I sat down and she just came over, dropped a menu and glass of water off at my table without a word and went back to chatting with her friends/family (?) that are probably related to the restaurant management.
