There pho is good and has been consistent since my first visit which was back in 2016 and never had anything to complain about. service is a ok food is good but man oh man.. 50% price increase on the menu? i'm looking at the menu from 2020 October where a bowl of regular pho was $10.65 and a large was a dollar more at $11.65. fast forward two years and now each bowl cost $5 dollars more???? get out of here.. $5 dollar may not seem like a big deal but the fact is that they are charging 50% more? We came here on a Monday night near closing time and they still accepted us. Food came out pretty quick, service was ok. They didn't ask if we wanted refills and didn't check in on us. The restaurant wasn't run down, but wasn't modern either. The food was mid, for $15 a bowl, I'd rather drive down to Westminster to get some authentic pho. Got the value pack with the pork chop, comes with a lil salad, soup, 1 shrimp pork spring roll, and 2 egg roll, and also got an order of the shrimp pork springroll. Value pack was pretty nice as it came packed with food, had me feeling full and satisfied. Porkchop was pretty nice, cant go wrong with it. The pork shrimp spring roll was also nice - its a classic cant go wrong with that. The only thing I thing could be improved is the sauce used for the spring roll, was okay but did not feel like the original sauce that comes with it. What really surprised me was the egg roll and it's filling. Usually other places would fill it with just veggies. Here however, got the glass noodle, bits of mushroom, etc. Made it very enjoyable to it. More of a spring roll guys, but this place got me craving for the egg rolls. read more

I have been to this place over 6 years. It has been THE pho place to go to. The most recent visit disappointed me so much, I decide to write this review. First all of, I have to say their food quality stay consistently the same over the 6 years. What frustrated me is they are taking advantage of their existing customers by rising the price so much, I understand there is inflation, but hear me outs. The Sup Noodles Bar is offering cheaper price with unlimited noodles and bigger seating area, and much nicer environment. I feel like they are cheating their loyal customers who have been supported them throughout the pandemic. There is a table by the front door and a lady took our orders. She was friendly and patient. We sat at a table outside and waited for about ten minutes for our food to arrive. My pho was delicious The staff was friendly, clean, fast and efficient. It was busy on a Sunday from 10:30 a m. and on. Just moved back to the OC and discovered that this previous fav spot survived the pandemic. BEST pho in town, you can taste the time that is out in to their delicate and complex broth. I came here several times. The food is decent, service is ok, price is reasonable. What triggered me to post this review was because of 3 things. 1. The table was smelly even though it looked clean. I smelled it when I brought my face close to the table to look at the menu (the menu is embedded to the table). I believe it's because they kept using the same cloth to wipe the table and didn't use cleaning agents. 2. The avocado smoothie tasted weird. Not only it's not fresh, but it tasted a very strong overripe (brown, mushy) avocado. 3. Even before I finished my food, they gave me the bill (which is ok), but then they kept looking at me when I sat there finishing up my weird-taste avocado smoothie. I felt rushed. I believe they expected me to leave soon. It wasn't that crowded. Yes there was 2 party waiting, but I saw few tables were empty. My suggestion to the management or owner: please use clean cloth or cleaning agents when wiping the table. Please throw away the overripe/brown/mushy part of the avocado when you make smoothie. Even better if you can use a fresh/good avocado. Please don't rush your guests. Do so only if they stay unreasonably long. I am not sure if I want to go back. Pho Ba Co has become a staple in our family these past two months. Though we do generally prefer our pho from Westminster, Pho Ba Co is the closest to what we could get out here in Irvine. We mainly order their chicken pho or beef pho from here (had a chicken rice dish from here once, but it wasn't great). The only complaint I have is that the chicken pho uses beef broth instead of chicken broth. Otherwise, they pack very generous portions of broth and noodles. A single order can be split into two meals. The broth is clean and has very little fat in it. Their packaging for delivery is great. Everything's safe and nicely sealed. I got large size of pho dac biet: $11.95. Thought it would be a large size but it is more like small/medium size. I've been coming here for years, and I think this is the tastiest pho in the area. My favorite thing about Pho Ba Co is the pickled raw onions. I always ask for extra and it comes on a separate plate in a generous pile. The extra sourness from the onions compliments the broth perfectly. I like that you have the options between a regular size and a large size (both of which are smaller than Little Saigon's regular and large, but the regular is perfect for me). The noodles are also slightly more al dente than other places. There aren't a lot of great pho places in Irvine if I'm being honest; I'm usually willing to drive 20 minutes to Little Saigon for pho instead. But if you must eat in Irvine for pho, this is your place! read more

Solid Vietnamese joint with fast service that follows good covid restrictions~ My BF and I came here for early dinner around 6 PM to grab some guds. There were a couple of people seated outdoors, but pretty well distanced. There is a separate table outside with menus plastered on a stand where we were able to order. I got the Rare Steak and Tripe Pho ($11.15 regular) and my BF got the Garlic Butter Chicken with Fried Shrimp Patty on the side ($14.25+$4.15). Food came out super fast, my pho came out in less than 5 min, came with the regular fix-in with bean sprouts, mint leaves, cilantro, and lime. The broth isn't the best I've had, but had beefy flavor and not overly salty. Meat was tender and noodles were chewy, they give you the perfect portion of noodles and meat! Tried a bit of my BF's meal and the Fried Shrimp Patty is flaky and had a chewy shrimp patty interior. Chicken was juicy and well seasoned. I personally don't like dry style rice so the rice was a bit dry and lacking flavor. Price is a little on the higher side for the Vietnamese place, but the service and quality of food is definately one of the best! Would love to try other dishes here my next visit. read more

Very good restaurant to satisfy the pho craving we all get as the weather starts to cool down. Due to the current situation, they are now offering indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is shared with the other eateries in the plaza. We ordered the veggie pho and the special pho. The broth was delicious; very flavorful, rich and clear. We appreciated the fact that they used good quality noodles, they didn't disintegrate as they cooked in the broth. My husband was very impressed with the different cuts of meat the pho had. I've been here several times when my friends and I want decent pho in Irvine. All of the other places that are really good are obviously in Garden Grove or Westminster, but this place is pretty good too. The food itself is solid, no complaints. Wanted to grab a quick lunch in the area and saw the great reviews/high rating, so decided to check out Pho Ba Co. The restaurant was not that small, but the tables looked/felt like they were kind of close together, maybe to fit more people/seating? I felt kind of claustrophobic while being/eating in the the restaurant. The service and wait times were not the greatest, while the food was just okay - nothing spectacular about it. For just a small bowl of pho, it was almost 15 dollars, which is kind of expensive. The best thing was that they had 2 bathrooms - one on each side of the restaurant so it was convenient unless the bathroom is occupied and you had to walk to the other side. read more

I liked the fried wonton that added some crunch, as well as the fish ball, shrimp and chashu. Had not been here for a while. This is one of the longest running place in Irvine with pho, plus a varied menu, as 2 others had closed since Covid. A little more pricey than what you can get in Bolsa. But the meat is fresh, tasty & plentiful and the drive is much shorter.
