I have been there more than 5 times tried several different menu items and here are my feelings. To begin with easy process online, able to request changes etc. when ordering. First time trying Pho 83. My friend and I had rice with pork chop, Pho, Thai Ice tea and Vietnamese coffee. Rice with pork chop was so good. The meat seasoning was on point. The rice was good and veggies were fresh and crunchy. Pho was okay. I had better. The soup was not as clear as I expected but taste wise was okay. Thai ice tea and Vietnamese coffee were the bomb. Love the Thai ice tea and coffee. We got there during dinner time. They were so busy but we didn't have to wait long to be seated and served. The service was quick and nice. For Vietnamese food in Minnesota, I would say this place is decent. I ordered the pho with rare beef and the egg rolls. I was expecting the egg rolls to look less like lumpia, but it still tasted good. In the pho, they give you a LOT of beef and noodles. The beef pieces are pretty thick, so you'll definitely be full after eating the pho. I was! I'd come back to eat pho here and maybe try other dishes. read more

I don't often review on here, in fact this is my first. But I just had to say how spectacular the staff is here. My wife ordered the P4, meatball Pho (our usual) and asked for no noodles as she isn't feeling well and just wanted the broth. The only thing that helps her feel better when she is under the weather (we usually ask for 1/2 noodle) and on our to go packaging, they left us an adorable note, and included extra meatballs to make up for it. We came here literally 23 minutes before they closed (we had an hour drive home and everyone was starving). Not once did they rush us or make us feel like an inconvenience like many restaurants do when you walk in so close to closing. We ordered the spicy pho with beef which was so good! I added a bit of their chili oil which just took it to another level. I'm a hug fan of spring rolls but they usually have pork (which i don't eat). They made us some fresh ones without pork which were amazing. Most places will just say they cant do it and move on. Service ... had to flag down a bunch. New guy seemed new (he was super nice, the only African American server). He kept refilling our waters. This place is definitely my go-to when I don't want to drive to the cities for Vietnamese food. Every time I come here, the service is fast and friendly. I typically don't wait more than 10 minutes for my food. I usually order the combination pho or the combination rice platter. Oh, and coconut juice is always a must for me. One time, I was craving wonton noodle soup, but it wasn't offered as an item on their menu. I asked about it and the waiter was willing to put in the custom order for wonton soup with egg noodles without a question. I like that you are able to customize any of the dishes. Pho 83 was recommended to me by a Vietnamese family I met in southern MN. They swore it was, not just the most authentic, but also the most tasty in the state. I can't speak to the authenticity personally, but it is definitely the best pho I've ever had and certainly worth an hours drive to eat here. Nestled in an older plaza next to a gas station, the building itself isn't much to look at. However that's quickly forgotten once the food comes out. The family that operates the restaurant was also super friendly and was more than happy to help me navigate some new things on the menu. read more

I will try to exercise some self control and refrain from all of the "pho" puns that I've used a million times before. Pho' real. Damn it. So I got a huge craving for pho when I was in BFE/Shakopee. So I yelped my way to Pho 83. Once I entered and took a seat, I immediately ordered the Pho Tai Bo Vien - Sliced Beef (Rare) and Meat Ball. The server was efficient but non-responsive... It was a little amusing though. I was happy to see this was a very clean place. There were a lot of condiments at the table (see my photo), and I was pleased that they didn't look like they've been collecting dust there for god knows how long. When my pho came out, which was quickly, I went to town. It was good stuff! I'm not an expert on it and I don't know the exact layers of flavor and technique that goes into it, but all I know is I slurped it down in record time. It had very good flavor and they didn't skimp on the herbs and sprouts. After performing for several hours at nearby Canterbury Park for Soundset, I felt famished and left with a crew of b-boys to go eat while Wiz Khalifa mumbled "Black and Yellow" into his mic. (Timing couldn't have been better.) We found Pho 83 on Yelp, only a mile away, and it was perfect because I needed to replenish my body with the broth of the beef gods. The place was PACKED, but luckily we got a booth near the rest rooms. I'm not going to factor Pho 83's service in my review, because they clearly were understaffed for all the peeps looking for something to eat following the world's largest grassroots hip-hop event that draws 30,000+ people each year. (C'mon, they should've known.) But anyways, I had the the oyster wings and Pho Dac Biet. Oyster Wings: Aight. I think the sauce should've been thicker, since it was a bit drizzly. The green onions were a nice touch. Pho Dac Biet: Generous portions for a reasonable price. I have to say that I was quite satisfied with my bowl and slurped that baby dry. If they could level it down a notch on the MSG, that would be great. #headaches For having 30+ people, I thought it was very clean. I came here on recommendation from workers at the near by casino. First off a general rule of thumb is if a restaurant is famous for a certain dish, you should probably get that dish. That being said I did not follow that... I ordered chow mein. Much to my surprise when it came out there were no noodles in it, which I have always seen come in chow mein. It was mainly a few vegetables, some chicken, and mountain of cabbage. Although it was ok I was pretty bummed and mainly ate the chicken. That being said, my buddy who has a lot of experience with Asian food ordered the pho. He enjoyed it and was happy with the food. This is my favorite pho joint south of the river. The pho is ALWAYS spot on! Good fresh fixings, rich flavor and good meat quality. The pork Banh Mi sandwich is INCREDIBLE! This place is next to a Super America gas station right off the freeway. i stumbled upon the place when i went furniture shopping at Ashley's and Furniture Mart. Its next to 19 Fitness and it looks pretty crummy. If youre looking for a place to dine, than this is not the place for you but if youre looking to relieve asian flavor craving and a quick bite than I would recommend Pho 83 if youre around the Shakopee or Chanhassen area. The beef pho is decent and so is their Luk Lac... beef dices, that's what i think they are called... Their portions are not generous and they can sure use a complete wipe down on their condiments. I had heard a lot of great things about this place from some of the dealers at Canterbury park. This was the first time I had ordered pho from a restaurant, so it's hard for me to judge it fairly, but I definitely enjoyed my meal, and the family who owned the restaurant was very helpful in explaining the menu. Both of my friends weren't thrilled about their food, so I'm going to dock it a star from their point of view. One friend's sweet and sour chicken was a bit cold, and my other friend didn't get noodles in his chow mein, which he thought was a staple for the entree. Overall, fair prices and a friendly family. Pho 83 has all your basic pho condiments including my must-haves i.e. jalapeños, black pepper, and chili oil. Basil and bean sprouts were pretty clean and fresh too! I ordered the classic Pho Dac Biet (pho with all the meats). Broth was fresh tasting, but it lacked that strong "pho" flavor - star anise, cinnamon, beef. No worries, though - it was still good and the pho was overall better than its suburban competitors. Noodles were perfectly cooked. The bowls are very deep, so you are given a lot of broth, meat (tripe, beef slices, tendons, etc) and a good amount of noodles! Meat was tender and tasty. Overall, very good! I got a bite of the Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gia (vermicelli salad with grilled pork and eggroll). They totally load you on this dish too. This was also very good, though the noodles were a BIT hard.
