These "pork egg rolls" look nothing like the photos on the website. They were greasy beyond belief, had virtually nothing inside & no pork.

We saw a good review for the Vietnamese Curry, and tried out the restaurant despite some negative reviews of other dishes such as Pho. The staff was friendly. The Vietnamese curry was the worst dish I have ever ordered at any Asian restaurant. The menu states that this dish was supposed to have had coconut milk in it. There was NO coconut milk- simply a plain brown sauce with virtually no flavor. The beef was tough, low quality and not tasty. The pork egg rolls were unbelievably bad- greasy, had virtually nothing inside them and certainly no pork - yuck!! I do not recommend this restaurant.

I'm giving it two stars and hoping that it was so lack luster cause I got take out and didn't dine in. I might have been spoiled living so close to Pho Tau Bay, Quang, and Pho 79 for so long, but this was so sub par... 1. no basil for my pho, only lettuce(iceberg) and parsley 2.the broth was lacking depth, looked a little like weak tea 3. the spring roll also only had lettuce, lacked flavor and the pork in it was super dry my Sig other fared better with his egg foo young combo, not the best he's ever had but passable. I'm going to give this place another shot dining in the next week and will update my review then.

Yeah! I loved my lunch here today. The staff was quick to see to our needs and the food was great! A colleague of mine asked me to meet her here for lunch. The prices were reasonable and the food hot and fast. I ordered the Beef Pho (#1) and my friend special ordered shrimp pho (minus the noodles and added veggies). We were both very pleased with our meals. I want to come back and try some of the other menu items. This will become a regular lunch spot and meeting place for me in Northeast!

a bowl of soup with meat and vegetables

This was my first experience eating Pho so I didn't really know what to expect or where it would be good. Chose this place and at first glance I was unsure. I got the Pho Bo and it was very good! Large portions. Good service. Atmosphere had a very unique vibe. A lot of people picking food up, so my bf and I were the only people in the restaurant. Would love to try their iced coffee sometime!

Awful food. The broth is clear and all MSG. The wontons have a teaspoon of cream cheese in them. There is probably 3oz of beef in the order. I will never order from here again and urge you not to either.

    Korean beef

Maybe the food in my photo looks good to you.. But Cali's never fails to disappoint me. I've eaten the pho twice and it's probably the worst I've had in the Twin Cities. Totally bland and hardly any meat. Today, I tried the Korean beef and wishing I had my $11 back. Not pictured is the egg roll which was the best part. Overall, the food seems sloppy and it's not a good value. I don't usually leave reviews but 3 strikes, you're out.

I drive past this place all the time, so I decided to finally give it a try. Verdict: my search for good Chinese or Vietnamese food in NE continues... Cali's is a Vietnamese restaurant, but they have a really extensive Americanized Chinese menu, so I ordered from that. I got a small egg drop soup and the combo plate with chicken egg foo young and sweet and sour chicken. I have never not finished an egg drop soup. But, I guess there's a first for everything. First glance prompted the question, "why is it so bubbly?" (see photo). I have no idea, I've never seen an egg drop soup with so many little bubbles in it. But that wasn't the problem. Flavor was...weird. Didn't taste like the standard egg drop soup. And HOLY SALTY. Way too much MSG, and I usually am ok with MSG. Honestly, I could have finished it despite the weird bubbles and flavor, but my god. I literally got 1/4 way through it when I gave up, just way too salty. The main entree was edible. Not bad, not good, just meh. Think mall food court Panda Express. Yeahhh the location is super convenient, and the fact that they deliver rules...but I probably won't be back. But who knows!

Lunch Special: Lemongrass tofu, tofu spring roll and fried rice $6.25 Good portions, decent taste, but the lemongrass was quite salty. Unfortunately, this was my first time eating Vietnamese, so I don't have much to compare it to. However, the price, location, wait staff, service and portions will have me coming back!

In…read morere-reading my reviews, I stand by everything I've said about the excellent consistent quality of the food, the service, and how much I enjoy coming to this restaurant. I truly hope they are around longer than I am. I would hate to find out this was one of the choices no longer available to us. Please read my previous reviews for a more inclusive view; this review focuses only on their lobster. I had previously mentioned that they prices of their lobsters (I love the version with black bean sauce) have gone up tremendously. While true, there seems to have been a subtle change in their pricing strategy. Previously (as of before the pandemic), the lobster was priced by the pound, which is the conventional way of doing it. However, they seem to have two lobster prices. The first one is called "Big Lobster" and they say it's between 2 and 2 and half pounds per lobster. The price of that (as of this review) is $56 dollars, or $28 per pound. That's not really a bad price at all. It's expensive, but reasonable. The other lobster is called "Live Lobster" and is priced $10 less at $46. So the real question is how much does this second version weigh? I ordered the Big Lobster, but they said they were out of it. I asked the weight of the "Live Lobster" but I didn't really get a straight answer, but he seemed to say "about two pounds" which doesn't really make sense because that's the price of the larger, more expensive lobster. But I decided to go for it anyway. As I stated in my last review, I'm guessing this lobster is at least two pounds, based on many years of eating lobster. For this review, I had ChatGPT translate the the Chinese on the menu, thinking it was secret code for "if you can read Chinese, save ten dollars by ordering this version" but AI says the Chinese means "lobster" so if you spoke Chinese, you'd still be mystified. So my recommendation is order the version that is ten dollars cheaper and you may (or may not) be paying $23 a pound. Price aside, I love this version of lobster and it is certainly a better deal than what you would pay at an American style seafood or steak restaurant in the Twin Cities.

It was nice visiting and enjoying some of our previously go-to dishes. The soft shell crab made with golden garlic style was as delicious as I remembered, although at a much higher price now ($44+) for the dish. The seafood soup was a nice start to our meal, would have been even better if they had red vinegar. The mapo tofu and eggplant dishes that we ordered ended up being very similar in taste/sauce/seasoning but still pretty good. The service was pretty fast and the staff was friendly.

From the outside appearance and lack of upkeep to the service and, most importantly, the food, the entire experience was disappointing. The service was odd, the staff didn't seem very familiar with the menu, and there were several misses that made the experience even less enjoyable. The food itself was mediocre at best--and honestly, some of it was just bad. Then came the bill: over $75 plus tip for three people, with two lunch specials and three drinks. For what we received, the price was absolutely ridiculous. For me, this was a hard pass.
