I thought it was odd that there was a girl there trying to sell me an energy drink but more strangely they had samples pre-poured and just out in the open...just very strange. i don't drink strange things from open cups - that's not a good idea, ever. When the weather outside is frightful, Pho can be soooo delightful. Unless you get it from here. Pho places around here are as prolific as Starbucks. There are several within a stone's throw of my house. I first tried this place a couple years ago. Placed a to go order of combo bun which is rice noodles and romaine lettuce with egg rolls, pork, and shrimp and a dressing you pour over. Think of it as a salad with noodles. Anyhow after I placed the order the girl said it would be ready in 15 mins and I told her I'd be back in a bit and went to Safeway. 25 mins later I returned and no one was in the restaurant by that time and I asked the girl about my order. Based on her response that she needed to get it and disappeared in the back for 5 mins told me that she forgot to get my order in. After a 10 minute wait (which means 35 mins after I ordered) I finally left with my food. Got home and lo and behold, there's no shrimp. I call them and the girl says "Oh I'm sorry. If you'd like to come by we can give you an egg roll." Are you kidding me?? I ordered that dish because it includes shrimp and I already have an egg roll! Disgusted that they wouldn't even fix their error with the right item, I said no and haven't gone back until today. I felt like pho and figured since it had been a couple years since I had my bad experience there so I thought I'd give them another shot. I ordered a small pho tai with extra meat to go and went to Safeway again but this time when I came back my food was ready. Hooray! I got home and started to prepare my pho. I take pho to go regularly from several different places in the area and one thing that struck me was the amount of broth. Just feeling the container it felt light. And then they pre cook the meat. I could understand doing that if it's lunch time on a weekday and your restaurant is near a bunch of offices. This is a Saturday and in a residential area. No other place pre cooks their meat. After I get things heated up and put the stuff in my bowl I find that one large chunk of meat is inedible. If you know what silverwall on beef is you know it needs to be removed because you can't eat it. That's what that large piece was. The broth was lacking in flavor so I added a bunch of hoisin sauce and when I got everything into my pho bowl (yes I have actual melamine pho bowls like the restaurants serve pho in), it was definitely short on broth. If you look at the picture you'll see where the broth got up to (every other place gets within 1/2 inch of the top at minimum) and what I'm holding in the chopsticks is that big chunk of inedible meat. As I started to eat, I came across other pieces of beef that were way too chewy to eat so I spit them out and honestly the flavor of the beef was not good. I ended up throwing out half the food. I feel like I got pho'd over. Obviously I don't plan to return. However I will admit my meal did end on a sweet note. I ate some chocolate to get rid of the taste. read more

The harsh reviews are uncalled for, this place is decent. The goi cuon was delicious, the pho was good, not fantastic, undersized bowl for a large, but overall better than the other 2 Covington Pho places I've reviewed(have not been to Saigon Rose....yet). My Iced coffee arrived as I was finishing my meal and getting up to pay. If the portion was better and the coffee came within a few minutes, they might even scratch out a 4 from me, but the fact is, it's a decent pho place, not a bad pho place. I really don't understand the 1 star reviews at all. Update, 5/23/2017. This place is great, my go-to in the South End. Run o' the mill. It might stick around for a while. Seems like there's a lot of turnover in this little section of strip mall. Cursed? Did the developer build over an ancient Indian burial site? Service and food quality has gone way down hill. I would eat here periodically because it is conveniently located and I have physical difficulty in getting around. At first it was okay. The pho wasn't nearly as good as a lot of other places but still edible. And the staff people were always very nice. Lately, my daughter said the quality of their bubble tea was horrible, not to mention they couldn't even get the order right the last time she went (um.. for only ONE order of bubble tea, yes, that is all she ordered). Today I decided to go there as I was super hungry and in a hurry. Normal wait time is usually 10 - 15 minutes, even when there are a lot of patrons. I waited a little more than 30 minutes, and guess what? I was the only patron! I also noticed that every table and surrounding area, save one table, was dirty. NO ONE came out to clean them the entire time I was there waiting. Silly me still got my food. Brought it home (oh, it was bun, by the way) and a lot of the meat was burnt. Guess what? Not coming here again. Oh, but wait! There's more! The young girl working the counter talked badly about a customer who was in earlier that day, about how she wanted to change her order blah blah THEN had the audacity to make a comment about her carrying her child around, who apparently was around 6 years old. You know what? Some people choose to carry their child into a restaurant because it can take time to get their WHEELCHAIR out of the car and assemble it. To assume this child was lazy is one thing, to talk about them to another customer is downright disrespectful! read more

Really awesome staff, and consistently exceptional broth. Have never been let down with the bowls I have chosen, and some days that brisket is amazing. Never had an experience worth leaving a negative review over. Yes places vary, and you may find more generous servings elsewhere, but I have never been left hungry anytime I came in with an appetite and chose even a small sized bowl. Definitely understand how you could get spoiled with city pho or your preferred choice of establishment and be underwhelmed by something different. But outside of travelling to downtown, this is hands down one of the best Pho places you can find locally. Great broth, generous servings of meat/noodle,fair prices, strong coffee, prime Bánh mì's, and really friendly staff that work very hard and competently. They do a great job of being quick and keeping the place clean for the very few people I have seen working there. Give some consideration to stopping by, highly recommended! read more

Cockroach on the table of a girl sitting across from me. She let out a little scream. The young lady working there walked over. The girl pointed to it. The lady smashed it with her cleaning rag, wiped the table and apologized. I was basically done eating already or I would have either not ordered or returned my food to the kitchen. It was disgusting to say the least. Those little critters harbor so many diseases and they are very difficult to get rid of. Ordered through Uber eats due to the inflated rating they have. The garlic chicken wings were horrible. They were so small I was confused. Each one was maybe 2 inches--that's a really small chicken. I tried one and threw the rest in the garbage. The pho was unremarkable. read more

To be fair, I generally have never liked Pho. To be more fair than that, I have only tried it from two places in my life, and this is one of those two. That said, I first came here while sick and needing a large bowl of something resembling chicken soup and that served the purpose, though I couldn't taste it. I came back here tonight to try again and try to force myself to like pho. I ordered the rare beef without cilantro and a Thai Tea. Let me first say the Thai Tea was a bit on the sweet side but very rich in the tea flavor as well. Very good. One reason I have not liked pho is the cilantro (now I know to order it without) and the sweetness in the broth, which I could taste in the chicken (pho ga). However the broth with the beef did not taste sweet and I actually managed to enjoy it. The broth was flavorful but light and the meal on the whole was filling. I don't know how their regular size compares to other places but it had a decent portion of meat and noodles and was a good, full meal. Top that off with a very friendly and helpful staff and I would say that Pho 7 deserves a higher than 3.5 star rating they currently have. Also, both times I have been here I gave seen a large crowd of Asians come in so that must amount to something, right? read more

found a fly in my pho!! so I went here over the weekend and was very disappointed with the experience. I ordered pho to go.. and after getting settled at home I pour out my noodles and find a big fly stuck to the back of my noodles... I take everything back(in my own bowl) in the shape of the container they had it in so they didn't think I placed the fly there... (you never know right?) so we get there(my bf had ordered vermicelli noodles and didn't want to eat his after he seen my "side of bug") he went in and asked for a refund the guy at the register refused to give a refund and said he would remake our food...he sad no... we don't trust your food now...we just want out money back.... he accused us of putting the fly there(like I stated above) what would I gain from that I wanted pho... the guy then continued by telling him how much it costs to make those meals and how much of a waste of ingredients it was.. my bad at this point was pissed because none of that waS relevant to our problem. the guy then proceeded to call 911 on us because we wouldn't leave without a refund!! he told the cops that there was an angry customer at his restaurant that wouldn't leave and was irate... the cops told him to call back if we actually got violent or actually did something cause it didn't sound like we were threatening (we weren't lol...) the guy finally gave us a refund... we will NEVER go back there. smh... read more

I stopped by here since it is near where I lived and I was in a rush and had to bring home lunch. For what I paid for, the amount of food was pitiful. I ordered my boyfriend the shrimp and chicken rice combo plate, and it came with 2 (TWO) shrimp. Why bother??? I've been to better places with cheaper prices that gave more shrimp than that. Also, as a vegetarian myself, the vegetarian selection at this place is pretty bad... if not non existent. We waited over 20 minutes for two rice dishes and one order of tofu spring rolls... Do yourself a favor and go to Covington to get pho. My personal favorite is Happy Pho Time... lame name, awesome food (and prices!). I will not be returning here, no matter how close it is to home. read more

I don't know what these other reviewers ate? The pho here is one of the best flavored in Washington. You can taste the beef broth like it supposed to be made. A lot of other restaurants make their pho incorrectly. The other restaurants tend to water down their soup so the flavor is off. I have come back and the flavor is still one of the better places to eat Pho. There are many way to eat pho. You can ask them to make it a variety of ways. Taste the true flavors of pho. read more

The broth was fairly weak, not hearty at all. The steak was pre-cooked, dry and crumbly. And the large was the same size as the small, but with 3 branches of basil and 2 slices of jalapeno. So I'll be going to Happy Pho Time up the street on Covington from now on. read more

I think average is a good description for the food and the value proposition. I wouldn't go so far as to advise someone against this place but you can definitely do better. Flavor was not bad, but not really good. I thought they skimped a bit on the beef and that it was perhaps of lower grade then it should be. I will say the chicken was tender and tasted good, all three tea spoons of it on their larger portion of mostly non-nutritious white rice dish. No vegetables either. The saving grace for this $9 rip-off was my Verizon Rewards Entertainment BOGO, but the server would not let me order the two entrée dishes separate with one to go....he did l say I could box up left-overs. It was a joke anyway, minus the non-nutritive white rice....what food? I was excited to have a Pho place just a few blocks away. The place is clean and the staff was nice, but the chicken in my chicken pho was mostly cartilage and not even meat. Came in here tonight and ordered the rare beef pho. I find this restaurant to be one of the better pho places in this area. After moving from Seattle to Auburn, it has been challenging finding a good pho restaurant. This place is clean, the staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Plus it's close to home!
