    Crispy Egg Roll
    Jason U.

Dropped by Pho 5+ and had a great meal. I got the combination pho and the crispy egg rolls, and both hit the spot. The pho broth was rich and flavorful without being too salty, and the mix of meats -- brisket, tendon, tripe, and meatballs -- was well-balanced and tender. Noodles were fresh and served nice and hot. The egg rolls were a pleasant surprise -- super crispy, not oily, and paired perfectly with the lettuce and dipping sauce. Definitely worth ordering on the side. Service was fast, staff was polite, and the space was clean and casual. Perfect for a quick lunch or low-key dinner. Prices are reasonable, and portions are more than filling. While it may not be the best pho in Houston, it's a reliable, satisfying choice if you're nearby

Waited longer for order to go because they made a mistake

Not worth the drive, for the price? Small portion and not such great taste, just bland! Customer service needs work, I ordered over the phone and they made a mistake. Waiting for refund on first charge because they charged me for the wrong items, and I had to wait longer because it wasn't the correct order. Not even an apology for the mistake! I ordered 2 pho and pork egg rolls, I took pictures but not if pho because I wasn't even in the mood with the waiting and traffic!! No parking either, my daughter kept driving around when it should of been a quick get off and get order! That just ruined experience!!

Came here on a Friday night and had a nice, cozy dinner. Its very unassuming from the strip mall its a part of and almost tucked between other, more obvious, storefronts. We walked in and were greeted by the staff and told to just choose any seat we wanted. It was pretty quiet with maybe 5 other parties in at the time. Wait staff came and took our orders and were super polite the whole time, i started feeling bad for how often I said thank you because it was always met with a you're welcome. Anyways, we ordered the pork and shrimp summer rolls to start. I got the bun bo hue and my partner got a trio meat pho. Food came out quick which was great as we were hungry. Foodwise, I really liked the bun bo hue and pho broth. The bun bo hue had a pretty good amount of meat and it was nice, tender, and flavorful. I was missing my pork blood but that's a personal favorite of mine and considering the general location, unsurprising an "exotic" protein wasn't available. The broth was light but flavorful and perfect for a cold day. I also tried a bit of the pho broth from my partner and enjoyed it. A bit sweet but mostly balanced from what I could taste, nice warm spices and good beef umami. The summer rolls I'd definitely pass on next time. Nothing wrong with them, they just didn't do much for me like the other parts of the meal. Anyways, for a Viet spot near NRG, I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Now I have another local Viet spot to add to my list!

I thought I'd reviewed this place already but here I am! I have been to this place more than a few times and they are consistent! This was my first time actually dining in. I usually order pickup. The restaurant was pretty empty as we'd arrived not too long after they opened. Service was standard. We each ordered a appetizer. The calamari was fried to perfection and I think only $5 a great deal and product. The wonton were really good too per my friend. Now to the main course! I ordered shrimp pho and my friend ordered beef pho. Tk start excellent portion sizes! Very good broth and all the assorted condiments to spruce it up the way you like. This has become my goto for pho! Check it out!

I'm surprised I haven't stopped by here before. Located in the shopping strip across from NRG, this is a great spot for people in the medical center area. I stopped by for lunch recently and everything was pretty good! Started with the fried pork dumplings and egg rolls. Both very solid and good texture. $5 each. For my main, I had the brisket pho. The broth was surprisingly good and I would definitely have it again. They have all the condiments available on the table as well as providing you with plenty of toppings like bean sprouts, jalapeño, lime, etc. My coworker got the pork vermicelli bowl and it was massive. The only thing I'd knock is that my broth and his meat were not very hot. I'll definitely be back though since it's convenient for the area and good quality. The servers were nice and attentive and they have some discounts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

This is an underrated photo place. It is very cozy and the service is amazing. I had the pork dumplings and they were fresh and crispy. The brisket pho was delicious. The broth was perfectly balanced and they were very generous with the brisket portion. I also recommend the mango Thai tea! The service was great and they have 20% off deal on Thursdays which is great because they already have amazing prices. I highly recommend this spot for Pho! Parking: Plenty of free parking in the lot that is in front of the location.

We came back and wow did this place get worse. Ordered vegan dumplings (only appetizer without pork or shellfish) and they served pork dumplings without saying anything. When we complained they took the pork dumplings we didn't order and didn't replace them with the ones we did order!!! Asked for pho without cilantro and they served it with cilantro. The server bringing the food didn't speak English so it took forever to get sorted out. If you care about getting what you ordered, go somewhere else.

The got nice wall art too, depicting the popular dishes from the north so I had my expectation and hopes up. Service is ordinary, she speaks little English but can get by ordering, we order first at the counter the sit anywhere. Braised egg is 2 for $3.50, salty but expected since it's marinated. Came out steaming hot, and yolk was not overly cooked and dry, not bad. Starting with the Chinese hamburger I felt sad and know not to expect too much from the other dishes we ordered. First the meat look different than what others have posted before, and it was kinda dry and too salty to eat. There was no other spice, only the meat juice flavor. The bun they use was stale to eat. Traditional way of making this should be the flaky oily pancake, or at least make the buns softer to eat. The mutton stew was clear and very heartwarming to drink on a cold day. But the portion is super small for the price. The glass noodles were gone in literally two bites. I had none to share with my boyfriend. This dish come with the burger bun too that you can soak them in the soup so I guess this is the extra carb make up for the less noodles. Oil splash noodle is their specialty? It was good but didn't wowed me. Noodles are chewy and well cooked, came with lots of bean sprouts. The sauce is flavorful and actually not too oily which I enjoyed more. You can add the beef for an extra charge, it's the regular braised beef, was just ok. I find it funny that their all food arts on the wall look nothing like the actual way they serve it.

Look no further for authenticity, flavor, and complexity in Chinese cooking near the med center!…read more Though we opted for more "simple" dishes during this experience, you can judge a place by if they can do their simple dishes well. The mapo tofu is one of the best we've had outside of Bellaire with spicy, savory, numbing, and warmth that you expect from a good mapo tofu. Crispy popcorn chicken is a classic that's spicy, lightly fried, and crisp. It has an authenticity that other places around can't replicate and makes you keep craving more. The portions are also appropriate for their price. Service is incredibly quick, and you can order as you go and receive your dish within 10-15 minutes, regardless of how busy they are. As for the ambiance, it's loud, it's hectic, and it's simple... maybe a stretch, but makes me feel like I'm eating at a mom and pop shop in the heart of China. This place is definitely a go to if I'm convincing a friend of Houston's great food scene! Rating: 4.5/5

On my most recent visit we ordered mapo tofu with pork intestines off the specials menu - a hybrid of two of my favorite Sichuan-style dishes. The blend of bouncy, savory morsels amidst tender, saucy tofu was at once revolutionary and so obvious; why hadn't I yet seen this at any other restaurant? And sure, innards may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's important for you to know that none of my past orders from the 50+ item menu have ever failed me, whether enjoyed in the restaurant or at home. Maybe you'd prefer the aromatic, classic, perfectly balanced three-cup chicken? Or the sweet-skinned duck, glazed so delicately that specks of sugar crystal threaten to jump off onto the plate as you pick up a juicy slice with your chopsticks? And if you're vegetarian, might you consider the punchy garlic eggplant or the wok-kissed string beans? I could go on. Do yourself a favor and come see for yourself, though I'd recommend parallel parking on the neighborhood streets behind the restaurant rather than the rocky parking lot, to save you some trouble. Bring friends and chow down family style - you'll need help covering as much of the menu as you can, but you'll definitely have to come back to try everything.

The restaurant is located inside Jusgo grocery store. The seating is quite limited so I wouldn't recommend it for large parties. And it's pretty mom and pop, so if that's your jam, go for it. Chairs are mismatched, drinking water is somewhat self-service in small cafeteria-style plastic cups, and tables are small. Like I said - mom and pop, and that's not a bad thing.
