My favorite location. I've tried multiple Philz and this one is the best. The parking has been hectic and times but always worth it.

My latest find is Philz Hot Chocolate with Oat Milk. If you are lactose sensitive then this is for you!!! The default Hot Chocolate is made with heavy cream and it's a silky comfort as my Husband puts it. Philz beats Starbucks in this department hands down. The bacon cheese egg bites are not very flavorful and this is where Starbucks is superior with theirs. The blueberry muffin, we have definitely had better was on the dry side and lacked moistness. Service was excellent and people here are so friendly from the moment you walk in. This is what helped me give this Philz location 5 stars!!!

Got a plug for a silkin soul with cinnamon in the filter if people have dank taste buds and would like a great way to start the day or a jolt to continue it. Light creamy and sweet of course. This blend was nice and the cinnamon was not too powerful.

Horrible Chai Tea Latte. I thought coffee places make good chai tea lattes?! The person taking the order was confused to what it was. We were like it's like a dirty chai tea latte without the coffee. Or the Philz fresh chai with milk and sugar. And guess what? They still made it wrong. We paid for oat milk addition and we just got a chai tea, no latte portion, no sugar and they added a couple mint leaves. It was gross, tastes strong bitter and mint leaves. Waste of money. And the brighter side, their coffee is really good. Stick with their coffees!!

This location always brings back good memories. I used to go to school at De Anza College years ago and I'd always stop by Philz weekly for a pick-me-up before school. Today, I was in the area and decided to stop by for a drink. Everything still looks the same as I remember. I ordered a hot philtered soul (the house way). Loved the hazelnut brew. Creamy and sweet. A good cup for my soul, for sure :) There was no line, so I was able to order pretty quick. However, when I got there, I saw a bunch of cups ready to go already. So, if you're in a rush, do mobile pick up! Tons of parking, so no need to stress about that. If you're looking for an iced drink, you can never go wrong with the ecstatic or the mint mojito. Thanks for the pick-me-up today! :)

After lunch in the area, I stopped at this Philz Coffee shop to not only escape the exceptional heat outside, but also to tackle some work. Perfect spot. I highly suggest their famous Iced Mint Mojito but also to request for the House Made way. It's worth it! It's amazingly refreshing! I regularly drink my coffee straight black with no cream, sugar, or flavoring. There are only a few exceptions like today when I will order this specialty drink. Definitely a treat especially on a HOT summer day!

Friendly staff and always a taste you can count on. Mint mojito is the way to go for a good summer day.

You won't accidentally stumble upon it unless you make an effort to seek it out. Despite this, it seems to be well known by locals and the seating area gets full at times. There is plenty of seating inside, and some outside. Outlets can be found it some tables. It's a good place to work with your laptop. It's mostly tables for 2. There's a larger communal table, and some counter seating. Parking can be difficult. There's a small area in the parking garage for "guest" parking. It's almost always full and you will depend on luck to find one spot there or arrive in time when someone is leaving their spot. There is no parking on most of the surrounding streets, except for the small section of the road that curves underneath Lawrence. And that part is often full of parked cars. It can be frustrating and this parking situation will easily drive away customers to find somewhere else with easier parking. If you're fortunate enough to get parking, you will find that Coffeebar offers a decent coffee menu, baked goods, and some food if you need more than a snack. The people working behind the counter have all been very friendly and helpful. Their Chocolate Croissant is HUGE!!! They'll ask if you want it warmed up. Definitely do this. It is delicious slightly warmed up. I have tried their Iced Chai Latte, which was just OK. It lacked the spice I was expected from a chai, and felt a bit too milky. I prefer their Iced Caramel Latte, which is much better than the Chai. Next time I will try their Mocha.

I went specifically to try their Nola iced coffee after hearing a lot about it, and it was worth every bit of hype. One can tell right away that they know their coffee and roast their own beans in-house. It gives the whole experience a refined, gourmet feel. The Nola style vanilla iced coffee was fantastic. The medium roast beans had rich, chocolate-forward notes, and the vanilla was subtle rather than overly sweet, balancing the coffee. It was near 5pm. I walked in and the place was empty. The gentleman behind the counter greeted me. I asked for a strawberry smoothie, then walked around to survey all the baked goods. It's a small bakery with lots of trays of individually packaged cakes and pastries. The smell was very pleasant and comforting. Using a flat basket (or tray) I grabbed a few selections. I picked 2 "Heart Pies" that resembled my favorite French Butterfly Cookies. Also 2 pound cakes. The total rang up to just over $21. There's some small tables for enjoying your purchases there, but I took my items to go. The icy cold fruit smoothie was very good and very cold! Not too sweet, it had a natural strawberry taste. The Heart Pies were good and fresh. But the Pound Cakes were probably "day old." I noticed there's no dates or "best by" tags on the packages. It's a nice place to visit, and I will return again. Free parking in plaza lot.

Wisely, I checked Yelp reviews first because some deals can be too good to be true. It's hidden gem off El Camino and near Lawrence Expressway where those that know good Korean baking have this spot on their short list of preferred places. I arrived a few minutes before my scheduled pick up time and Korean grandma behind the counter was super pro, teaching me how to confirm check in and gave me a mixed bag of baked goods with/without fillings. If you like surprises, are omnivore & no special diets or food allergies, Too Good To Go is the way to explore. The items were in generic packaging without labels, so take a pic of the items you like so can order when visit next time. While my family enjoyed all the items, I really enjoyed the black sesame studded puffy rolls that I think were made with rice flour. There was a large group of older Asian ladies, including one who brought their lap dog, enjoying good conversations in their native language with their baked goods and tea or coffee. Another gentleman was taking a video call to help decide the best cake to buy. Will add this bake shop for a place to have a coffee meeting and to favorite in Too Good To Go.

Pastries and breads are often not uniform in size. Pastries that come out smaller or torn, damaged still get selected to be sold to customers instead of seen as a quality defect and pulled. In comparison to premium bakeries in SF, Palo Alto, or even Los Gatos, this was disappointing. I would think it would be better to pull the one or two pastries in that tray. Heck, even Paris Baguette would pull whole trays if it didn't fit their quality standard. (But I don't know if that's still true haha.) Given its premium pricing of $8-15 a pastry, I would expect all the qualities that would justify it. They are a step above bakeries who have frozen products, but do not hit the level of premium in quality of pastry. The prices they had in the beginning were fair, but with the recent increase along with those issues, I'm sad to rate it lower.
