I had a bad experience there, had one of the maintenance employees harassed me and stalk me every time I would go to the pool after 8pm. I was afraid to go out because of that issue. I believe he was working that day and was staying at the hotel too cause he kept changing clothes. And when I was at jacuzzi with my boyfriend, he approached us in a really uncomfortable way he had sunglasses and just stare at us without saying a word and then he walk away to the pool. We felt threatened by this guy and me a women I felt scared. I was lock in my room while my boyfriend was at work. I wasn't safe to come out. And the jacuzzi and pool was really dirty and made my skin really itchy. read more

Some employees are staying after work at the hotel to enjoy the pool with other people and some people feels uncomfortable with them , the backside of the hotel gate is always open and never lock so there random people coming in. Even homeless people trying to sneak into the hotel rooms. Not safe place to stay in. Bad experience with the management there trying to fix this issues. The Cupertino hotel looked great when looking for a place to stay, while staying at the hotel reviews online didn't match up to the service we received. The front desk staff for both check in and out were very friendly and professional. The bartender in the lounge was also friendly and happy to help us get a few sodas. The hotel is enclosed where the pool is in the center of the court yard. It looked elegant from the photos and they had day of the week mats in the elevators. We staid in an Executive King which includes a living room, large dual sink bathroom and a full size bedroom with king bed and closet. Both the bedroom and living area had a TV. The room was clean, well maintained and the bed was comfortable. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area. read more

First thing we noticed was the dirty carpet. I forgot my slippers and refused to walk barefoot on that carpet so I bought slipper from Ross which was walking distance. Look at the picture of the bottom of my slippers. I give you my word, I only wore these slippers inside the room, this is how dirty the carpet is. Everything! We wanted to check-in at 2:00 after an 8 hour drive, and I was told there would be a charge. The room was dark and cold. The heat source was a noisy radiator! The comforter was dirty with nothing to hold it in the duvet cover. The pool was supposed to be heated and it was not. The Hot Tub didn't work. We notified staff that we would check out after only 1 night instead of 3 nights, and we found a nice hotel. Hotel Planner gave me false information about this place. My reservation at The Grand Hotel in Sunnyvale was transferred to The Cupertino Hotel due to availability issues. I was excited because the Cupertino Hotel is advertised as a 4-star hotel. To my dismay the only 4-star thing about the Cupertino Hotel is the price. The rooms and service are 3-star at best. The carpet is worn down to the point where the tack strip is exposed. I actually cut my foot on the tack strip. They advertise a daily happy hour with complimentary drinks from 5-6p but the bartender didn't show up and the front desk staff didn't know what happened. Good for the price, but many draw backs. When I got there to check in, the concierge was just talking to each other, not even paying attention that someone was standing and waiting to be checked in (I don't know why check in is so late). The room was ok, but carpet was noticeably old and discolored. Underneath the bed was improperly cleaned, had old food down there and dust. TVs are a little old too with RCA inputs surprisingly but no RGB. the bathroom fan smelled so we had to always have it off. Now the breakfast. It is advertised as a continental breakfast but it was not even close with so few options. Then on Saturday we noticed there was eggs and sausage. It was decent and my rating bumped to a 4. On Sunday we ate the same breakfast, but the execution this day was much worse for some reason, and I noticed some of the eggs looked discolored. first the good part. The staff is very nice and try to be helpful. The location is also convenient, right off the 280 freeway. now the bad part (unfortunately). First, be careful walking to the shopping center nearby to eat something. I got some food and walking back around 8pm, a guy tried to rob me as the parking lot is dark. I would have thought Cupertino (home of Apple) is safe but apparently not. I wouldn't let my wife walk outside alone near this hotel. Besides that, there are other things to know. The free breakfast is horrible, and I wouldn't eat that for fear of getting sick. The building itself is old and not cared for. The photos of the building are very misleading. Dirty, dimly lit, and the hallways were freezing (they have outdoor hallways). That lead to my biggest shock, which was to find a mouse in our bathroom! Actually, my wife got up in the morning to use the bathroom and she shrieked at seeing the mouse run around when the lights came on. What was disappointing however, was the hotel's response. We called the front desk at 7am and the guy was nice, but was UNABLE TO HELP BECAUSE HOUSEKEEPING WASN'T AVAILABLE UNTIL 9AM! So we were stuck without a bathroom and worried the mouse will crawl under the bathroom door into the bedroom. That about sums up this hotel. Don't stay here unless you can sleep through concert level noise. They have a generator that is so loud it vibrates the rooms. Likely for the pool. On top of that the staff is rude. Once I realized that there was no way to sleep in my current room I called to see if they had rooms available. They confirmed they did then when I asked to move, was told they didn't. Finally, it's not a hotel, it's a motel. Rooms face directly outside. You'll be better off staying at a quality inn. Rooms are about the same but more reliable. read more

This hotel is extremely dated. They absolutely should not be charging $150+ a night for the experience they gave my girlfriend and I. The first issue is the elevator/stairs access is outside, and you have to go through several areas of steps to get to. Which makes hauling luggage to your room a real pain. And you have to walk right next to the pool, which is kind of dangerous and really awkward for anyone who wants to go swimming. Zero privacy. Speaking of the Elevator, it was broken while staying there. While yes it was still "running"... the lights to the buttons didn't work. It took several minutes to reach the bottom. And after we pressed the second floor button it took us to the third floor. This leads us to our next serious problem, since the elevator was broken that forced us to take the stairs. Which were absolutely VILE. They were horribly stained carpet you could tell has never been cleaned since the opening of this hotel. The inside of the rooms was not much better. Our towels had yellow/brown stains all over them. The IHome had an Iphone charger from 2011... and the actual modern phone chargers were ripped off the table. I agree part of the window was sealed shut. Part was not, though, allowing noise through. The window is one of the more minor concerns compared to the other issues raised. - We called twice to inquire about maintenance help regarding my wife's earring, and you'll have to ask your staff why no notes were made. I obviously am not privy to staff procedures and policies. - We did consider talking to someone at the front desk about all our concerns, but several people were already waiting to make complaints and asked for a manager. We overheard the same answer every time of "there is no manager here, there is no one you can talk to," so we just left. The location is good, and we heard good things about this place from years ago. I wish you the best in restoring the hotel to good working order. ***ORIGINAL REVIEW*** I can't select 0 or negative stars, so 1 will have to do. ***UPDATED 11/22/24*** Unfortunately a theft occurred by their staff so I'm soured on this place. Their security cameras are broken along with so many other ill maintained things. Housekeeping mistakenly took a USPS postal box they assumed was trash & when I frantically asked the front desk to help retrieve it, the gentleman that did stole our social security cards & other things from it. I never would've guessed if he didn't lie about where & how he found it to the police. After it was all sorted it sounds like this is a grift they have going since it wasn't actually thrown into the property trash. The manager arriving after this all happened was apathetic & no one ever really offered condolences or apologies for our stay which did not just include the identity & grand larceny thefts. I have emailed Claudio Bono who is the GM & replies to these reviews, while also running for public office, but no response yet. Adding insult to injury, I tipped everyone who helped before our noticed the missing items. November 2024 Stayed over two weeks & they had repeated hot water issues. Moved rooms three times (4th & 2nd floor) they even had a plumber come to repair, shutting the water off Saturday afternoon, but the hot water still had to be reset nightly because there was none. The elevator inspections posted are over 2 years expired. Be careful with directions, if you miss the driveway you end up on the freeway. It's very dated & ill maintained, but they offer 2 glasses of complimentary beer or wine from 5-6 PM daily. There is no restaurant on site or room service even though there are menus in the room. Free parking. The only ice machine is in the back on the first floor. Look at the real consumer photos to check out the lack of overall cleanliness, dismal breakfast offerings in broken cases & non operative fountain. read more

I stayed at this hotel for one night, and I can say it's the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Their check-in time is 4:00PM. We got there at 3:00PM, and they said, if we want to check in before 4:00PM, we have to pay an extra $40. Also, there was a mistake about our room, and we had been booked for a room with a king bed, vs. a room with 2 queen beds. Again, they said $40 to make that change. The room we stayed in was next to highway 280, near the elevator, as well as to a pump room or some maintenance room that was generating a ridiculous amount of noise. You add these 3, and you feel you're in a war zone. The phone in the room didn't work, so we couldn't call front desk, etc. The hot water faucet was not working. You turn it on, and nothing. Breakfast hours are from 7-10am. We got there at 9am, and there were only a few toasts left with some cream cheese, and some cereals. That's their definition of breakfast. Also all tables were filled with dirty dishes, and they said there's only one person that brings the food out, and cleans the table. The hallways have this very old carpet that is worn out, dirty and disgusting. And last thing to mention is the people at the front desk. At the time of check-in, there was a lady there that couldn't speak English at all. Anything we told her, she just looked at us, and couldn't understand anything we said. There was also another person named Peter, who was very rude. The person that was there at the time of check-out, was reading stuff on his cell phone, and acted like he doesn't care about anything we say. If you want to try a very dirty place, with a lots of noise, and broken stuff in your room and be treated badly, this is the place for you. DO NOT STAY HERE. Stayed here for what was supposed to be 2 nights with a friend as a getaway, but only ended up being 1 night. First of all, why is it an 8 out of 10 on the hotels.com app? Is it because no one uses the app? Not the point, but let me get to it. Upon entry, you notice that the elevator is closed off with a big yellow barricade. Interesting. We walked past the windows that showcase the used-to-be beautiful fountain that is now very unkempt and not running (Pictures attached). The vibe is ominous and eerie. We used the stairs to get to our room. The hallway is dirty, and carpet in need of replacement. We enter our room, and at first glance, it is nice, but once you notice the little details, it will be off putting. We found hairs on our towels. There were hairs and rhinestones in the bedding, so it probably was not changed from the previous stay. Blinds and windows are dusty and dirty. Mirrors are dirty. Corners and behind bed: dirty. All over: DIRTY, & details missed. Which makes me think they are either short staffed, or the staff that is here doesn't care, underpaid? Not sure. Maybe they don't have enough business to care. We turned on the TV to try and find something to watch. It was regular cable with no option for streaming services, annoying. "Continental" Breakfast is very sad and lacking (Pictures attached). Coffee tastes like water. Lids didn't fit cups. Sleeves didn't fit cups. Pastries seemed old. Hawaiian bread for breakfast (is that the Continental part?). We asked for a bedding/sheet change. Beds were remade with the same sheets! (We can tell because of the dirty stains that were there previously and hair still in beds). Clock doesn't work and outdated from first Gen iPhone. We decided we wanted to visit the hot tub and had been thinking about it all day while we were out. We got ready and headed down to the front desk to ask for extra towels, as to use one for the hot tub, and one for showering. We were told that if he gave us more towels there wouldn't be enough for other guests???? And he also suggested that it was okay for us to just use one towel each (for pool and shower). It is not okay when you have skin conditions. And then he told us we wouldn't be able to get more until 9 a.m. when the housekeeping staff comes in. Which makes me think they don't do laundry regularly or at all. Then we asked if we could have some dirty laundry bags and he didn't really know what we meant, he brought us 1 laundry bag and 1 trash bag. Which took 5 minutes. Which also makes me think it is very unorganized if there was only 1 laundry bag. We went to the hottub and it was not clean or very hot. There were used ear plugs next to it on the ground. We briefly soaked our feet as we were disgusted at this point. We went back upstairs to take showers and felt too uncomfortable to even wash our hair. The drain did not drain fast and that was another concern. Management must be ass here because as a supervisor myself, that's where issues start. We left a night early after speaking with the front desk again. We let him know about all of our concerns and he suggested moving us to another room, which we declined because it is not a room issue, it is an overall cleanliness issue. He then proceeded to say that they are fully booked and that's why there aren't enough towels, bedding wasn't changed, etc. I did not see that many people out and about for it to be fully booked? That is a bold statement considering much cheaper places have inventory for these things. I am not sure if that is what management has instructed to tell their staff but it's barely an excuse. Get your shit together or don't run a hotel. This hotel could definitely be on an episode of Hotel Hell. It may seem like I'm the biggest snob, but honestly I have been to cleaner Motels than this. I have been coming here for years. Longer than the rude guy Gerald at the front desk staff has even worked here. This place has turned out to get worse and worse over the years. The staff has gotten much worse. It's very unfortunate since I used to recommend this hotel to everyone. Now I have to post to beware. I booked one day for myself to have a little relaxation to celebrate Mother's day. I called early to see if they will have rooms available a little earlier so I can just place my bags and use the restroom and pool. The lady I spoke to was very nice, and told me to come around 2/2:30. We have never had an issue before. She said if there wasn't a room I could enjoy poolside and they would hold my luggage. I came at 2 to Gerald, not a smile or a welcome. I said I have a reservation. He said check in is at 4. I said yes but I was told I could come early. Do you want to pay more. No I would just like to be treated how I have always before and if there is a room available let me know. Explaining the lady I spoke to was much nicer then he was and was there a reason he was speaking in a rude tone. Then he started talking to me like a child and rolled his eyes at me. I then said I'll be at the pool. He didn't offer to hold my luggage or ask if I wanted a towel. I really hope they hire better in the future. I am a local too. This place is TERRIBLE. Shower was not clean. Pubes were everywhere. Even the walls of the shower. The persons old soap bar was still there. No new one. The bed was made, so someone did come "clean". I'm worried someone just made the bed and I'm sleeping on someone else's old sheets right now... The breakfast is supposed to be 6:30-10am. They cleaned it up by 8:30am... also be prepared for toast and boxed cereal only. The elevator is broken. Be prepared to haul all your luggage up 4 flights of stairs by yourself! They won't help you. Wow this was a rough one. At check in we were informed that the elevator was broken and waiting for parts. (According to the in house WiFi home page the elevator has been down since January!). It's now mid May. Room was clean but dated. Only had less than a quarter roll of toilet paper with no extra rolls, about 4 Kleenex tissues and the towel rack over the toilet was falling from the wall. The ceiling over the shower had a 36" long crack that was caving in from water damage above. AC unit in room worked very well and air quality/smell was surprisingly very good. Pool from afar looked decent. "Free breakfast" was less than desirable. Clock in room had incorrect time. Only one trash can and that was in the bathroom. 5 stars for a 4-star business hotel (Note: The name of the hotel as of Aug 2023 is "Cupertino Hotel") My wife and I stayed one night in a spacious comfortable suite. Service was excellent and the management took good care of us. My wife was scheduled to get a medical procedure at the Santa Clara Kaiser Hotel in the morning. We decided to stay at the Cupertino Hotel rather than try to drive over an hour from San Francisco. We got a great deal on a room. The room we initially got was smaller than we expected from the pictures. We explained this to the manager and they upgraded us to the suite room at no extra charge. The manager also allowed us to check out at noon rather than 11:00 am. This was extremely helpful since we were not sure how long my wife's intake process at Kaiser would take. The room was clean, convenient and comfortable - as expected from a 4-star business hotel. The suite room had good sound proofing so my wife as able to sleep without interruption while I worked a bit. The happy hour and breakfast were all done well. We really had a good stay. The Cupertino Hotel seemed perfect for business travelers to Silicon Valley. It is close to Apple and other tech giants and close enough to the strip malls of El Camino Real where it is easy to find places to eat or stores to get last minute things. There is nothing to complain about this hotel and it exceeds the understandably high expectations of a premium hotel in Silicon Valley. If you have to be near Silicon Valley and can find a good price on the web, this is definitely the place to stay. read more

When I was away from the room conducting my business in Cupertino, room cleaning staff had entered my room, stole my items out of the refrigerator They stole the only pair of shoes I brought with me. The shoes were a gift from my wife for my birthday. They also stole my facial lotion from out of the bathroom. No manager was to be found to discuss the events. No compensation was offered or given for any of the stolen items. The staff exercised a total lack of concern and complete disregard for the theft. Requested a quiet dark room. This hotel is next to an 8 lane freeway, not counting 2 lanes on each side of on and offramps, which I knew going in to this stay. This is why I requested a quiet dark room. They put me in a south facing room. Facing the freeway. (Rooms ending in 24 and higher are on the freeway side.) I attempted to make it work as I needed to get some work done when I arrived. That was a terrible idea. It is 4:47 am as I start writing this. You can imagine why. Even with the fan going I can clearly hear every.single.car drive by and it has only gotten louder in the time I have been writing this. I Room good size, bathtub, nicely appointed. With three hours of sleep though I am not a happy camper. There's a reason I requested a quiet dark room. Oh. Be prepared for $200 deposit too. read more

This is not a four star hotel as some websites claim. There are no inside hallways. Elevators are working, but they are full of scratches and feel like they could break down. The rooms are very large with a sitting area and a separated bedroom with door. Rooms have two TVs. The pool looked dirty. Breakfast was fine. Bathroom was nice. They use the wall pump dispensers for all soap, and you have have to pump a lot to get the amount needed. If you are expecting a two star, you will be impressed. Terrible place. Stay away. We booked 3 nights at Cupertino Hotel through Hotels.com. The room they gave us had sewage water leaking from the ceiling of the bathroom onto the toilet seat. It looked like no one had inspected or cleaned the room prior to us checking in. Aside from the hazardous conditions, the elevator was also not working. When we showed the pictures to the front desk, they told us that the only other room available was on the 3rd floor again with no elevator access. My mother could not climb that many stairs due to a previous surgery and we did not accept the room. We asked for a refund and they told us they cannot issue refunds and we had to work with the third party. We called the Hotels.com customer service and they told us the hotel refuses to refund so there is nothing they can do. The listing clearly says the hotel has elevators under the "Accessibilty" section even though the elevator was not working. I advise you to read the many recent negative reviews from others who had the misfortune of booking this hotel. The hotel manager Claudio B. is not being accountable or offering refunds. I came back to this hotel and stayed in a different room. The room was awesome. I felt very comfortable and relaxed. It was very spacious. The breakfast was really good. And the customer service was still great. I knew with some time this would become one of the hotels I visit more than once. Can't wait to go back. read more

We paid 190$ for a room here with one bed. The towels in the bathroom are stiff with stains on them. The TV channels say "scrambled channel or weak signal" the complimentary drink is only available for one hour. the front desk boy (looked maybe 17) was so unfriendly. on top of that we saw cop cars outside and decided to go check on our cars in the parking lot, and we saw cops in the lobby with ballistic shields on their arms. read more

We had some terrible experience with the hotel. We made a reservation - terrible services without room services for our entire duration of stay. When we need to extend our stay, they directed us to make a new reservation. (First credit card payment) When we go to the front desk for processing the extension of stay, we were asked to pay the second and the third time upfront. This place has gotten worse since the last time we were here. The elevator is broken so you have to use the service elevator at the back of the hotel. The breakfast is pretty awful now. Hard broiled egg, some bread, muffin danish, banana, fruit, cereal and juices/coffee is about all they serve now. The carpet has always been nasty. I don't know why they choose to use black lighting throughout the hotel. It gives off a weird blue light at night and makes the property look like a haunted house theme. It feels more like an apartment complex than a hotel. There are dark corners and feels creepy. The bathroom sink doesn't drain properly. I don't think they have any maintenance person because I can see the, "landlord special" all throughout the hotel and rooms. If you don't know what the landlord special is, look it up and enjoy the laughs. We arrived 2 hours earlier and tried to check in. We were told it would be $40 for early check in. Understandable, but pretty bad service considering the hotel is almost empty. Throughout our stay I think I only saw about 10 cars in the parking lot. We chose to go get lunch first instead of paying the $40. I don't think we'll stay here anymore. We only stayed this time because it was the lowest price property for the area besides motels. read more

When we checked in we were informed that the elevator was out of service. We would need to climb to the third floor with a lot of luggage. There was no one who could help us. We had reserved several days earlier, but got no warning about the elevator situation Fortunately, when I said I could not walk stairs (was recovering from an injury), a couple checking in who got the last first floor room (they had just arrived with no reservation) offered me their room. When I finished checking in, I asked the young man at the desk to recommend a nearby restaurant, he replied, "I don't know about restaurants, I never eat out here. I don't live here." When housekeeping took care of our room when we were out, they took away used towels, etc, but did not replace them. We had to call the desk late in the evening. The cleanliness of the hotel is so-so, so to speak! And their is more.... I travel a lot. This is one hotel to which I will never return! read more
