We did order the wings but unless you love spicy, these aren't really for you. The corn bread is delish, soft & so yummy!! The tritip was scrumptious! The ribs literally melt off the bone. The sausage grilled in the bbq sauce was a nice twist. The have a ton of drink options & also have a bar you can sit in. I gave it 4 stars cause of the wings & how spicy they were, even though they don't have no sauce on them. We really liked our experience & will be coming back!! Love how there's a Phil's BBQ location closer to LA area vs driving all the way down to San Diego. This spot isn't as busy as the other locations either, so that's a big plus. There's also separate lines for dine-in and to-go. My family typically orders their beefy rib dinner, pork rib dinner, chick-less dinner, sausage links, cornbread, and broham sandwich. For sides, we usually get the macaroni salad, beans, fries, potato salad, and coleslaw. You order at the front and they buzz you when your food is ready. Some of the worst food I have ever had. This is gas station quality food here. Fries and onion rings burnt badly. The pretzel is deep fried and burnt aswell so it tastes more like a donut than a pretzel. Chicken was extremely dry. Sweet tea is crazy watered down like they made tea in it 3 months ago and kept adding water only since then. Ribs were ok but portions on everything were tiny. The staff was excellent maybe just the cooks in the back are terrible? Seemed like my kind of place too, fast friendly, laid back, such a shame. Go to a Texas roadhouse instead. Stopped by Phil's for a Quick Birthday Bite on my way back from San Diego with a couple of friends. The set up here is Different but fast. It's set up like sizzlers, you order at the counter, they page you to get your order very quick. Self service, Self seating. The food was overall was Good, the potato salad tasted a bit different than other bbq spots but was good. The large sides are really large, enough for two people. The small sides are good size portions. The Beef Ribs were monstrous big and meat. I ordered onion rings, they were strangely crisp to the point of being hard. The baby back ribs were cooked perfectly, with a bbq sauce that is sweet with a slight hint of heat to it. The atmosphere was Exceptional. I am definitely going back on my next trip south. We come in weekly to be taken care of by Kells, Jazzy and the rest of the amazingly sweet bartenders. Those girls run around like crazy, always tending to customers to the best of their ability... no matter how many tables and customers they have under their belt. Food is always generous portioned for the cost. We love being greeted with the friendly faces, but we stay because of the food. Dad won a few bucks at the slots in Pechanga so it was his treat. What a great choice. There was no waiting, pretty deserted at 3:30 pm on a Monday. We ordered a family meal: choice of beef ribs, baby back ribs, whole bbq chicken & sausage, for two sides, baked beans & french fries. It also comes with salad, a round container of cornbread. The total was for $160 & it fed 7 hungry people, plus some leftovers for lunch tomorrow. After ordering. we picked out table & collected our utensils The food was ready. The pzger went off & my brother picked it up at the counter. It came out HOT & oh so good! Both the baby back & beef were seasoned to perfection (bbq sauce on the side), tender & juicy! Even the chicken! So delicious! The cornbread was good with bits of kernel corn, whipped butter provided. The order taker at the counter was efficient. If you are craving barbecue, Phil's barbecue in Temecula is a must stop. My wife and I lived close to the Phil's in Santee. I have to say Phil's BBQ in Temecula is a better experience. The food is always very tasty. Our friends told us about this place. The original location is in San Diego, so it was a nice surprise to find it in Temecula. They brought us here, and it really lived up to the hype. Sure, I've had better drinks. But I haven't had cheaper drinks on happy hour special in YEARS. And these are tasty. Phil's is reasonably priced, and delicious for the money. Their happy hour is unreal. Almost all their drinks are $5 or $6, and their loaded fries are $5 or $6 too--huge portion of fries topped with one of their meats, and cheese. I wish it were about 5 times the cheese, but you gotta cut costs somewhere. Their wings are good, my family of 4 can split a baby back ribs meal for $32, and we can leave happy and full. In the area, I've been to Lucille's, Calhoun's, and Destination Smokehouse--but I only go back to Phil's. read more
