I was meeting a colleague in Temecula and he recommended Hendos. What an interesting place! Fully bar / restaurant with tons of big screen TVs directly attached to a gym that can train MMA fighters and one that hosts fights on some weekends (check their website for dates, tickets, etc.). We arrived a little early and sat in the parking lot for a few minutes. We saw a few people coming out, in workout clothes. Now I'm thinking "Am I at the wrong place?" So I decided to go in and check it out. Yes, there is a full gym for people to workout, that includes a MMA cage for training and real competition. But, on your left as you go in is a huge, yes, HUGE, bar and restaurant. Full bar, all your favorite alcoholic drinks and a large selection of draft beers, TVs all over the place and a nice sized menu. Free parking outside but, as mentioned above, check to see if they are hosting a fight on the night you are going. If so, that lot will fill up quickly and surrounding buildings do not want you to take up spots in their lots. Parking carefully. We stopped in for dinner last night and had a great experience. A heads-up for anyone planning to visit: Tuesday nights are karaoke night, so if you're looking for a quiet, intimate date night, you may want to choose a different evening. If you're looking for a fun, lively atmosphere, Tuesday is the perfect night to go. The service was exceptional. There were two servers taking care of the dining room--Charlie and another young woman whose name we unfortunately didn't catch--and both were incredibly attentive to every table. I've been here more than once, and it's definitely a place I'll keep coming back to. The first server was outstanding. She was juggling multiple responsibilities--including printing labels for what looked like back-of-house operations--while still providing friendly, attentive service. She did a great job. The atmosphere is one of the best parts of Hendo's. Plenty of TVs, a great bar, and a comfortable, inviting space that's easy to relax in. Even the unsweet iced tea stood out--it actually had good flavor, which is surprisingly rare. The appetizers were very good, and the Fourth of July brisket special was an excellent value. There was plenty of food, and the brisket itself was delicious. My only suggestion would be to automatically serve it with barbecue sauce instead of making guests ask for it. Once the original server had to move on to other duties, service slowed down quite a bit. The young gentleman who took over wasn't very attentive, and it took longer than it should have to get the things i needed. Even with that, I still gave Hendo's four stars. This place is crazy cool. It's a huge sports bar that has actual boxing matches. The atmosphere is great but the food and service is lacking and very pricey for what you get. They gave us empty glasses on our table. After about 10 minutes we had to go retrieve our own water pitchers and pour our own water. Most of us didn't eat all our food and we had a party of 11. I recently visited Hendo's Barrel House in Temecula. I have been here before, but today in particular was a very watched world soccer cup day. Although it was super busy, the staff went out of their way to find us a spot. The crowd was fun and the ambience was great. Also, there was some great food specials, especially for World Cup, I would like to recommend the steak lover flatbread pizza, which was not on the happy hour World Cup menu, but was worth it. It was delicious and well prepared, the flatbread crust that the flatbread comes on is delicious and taste woodfired. I would also like to give a shout out to one of the line cooks who just happened to be coming out for a break and I asked him for her to go box and found out he was a line cook, but he still went out of his way to go back and get me a to go box, super nice staff. Meh, these type of places are popping up all over the place. You know sleek black counters and tables, glass and reclaimed wood everywhere and plenty of Giant TVs. A perch for Merch is just inside the door and the main room is rather sparse with plenty of room for more tables. Arriving on a sunny Sunday afternoon, I found the place tepid with nary a welcome from the hosts, were there any? maybe not. We chose some spots at the bar, overcrowded with a motorcycle club on one end we sat at one end in close quarters to others. The 2 female bartenders seemed stand- of-ish and neither knew if there was or wasn't a drink special. No recommendations on the beers and that's odd for a brewery with 3 bartenders that weren't busy. The third was a tall young man who was kind, chatty and knew his basketball. He remained busy stocking the bar our entire 30 minute stay. Beers are on the high end but I was still surprised to get a check before the beer. My buddy may have or might not have liked his house beer, Unremarkable either way was my impression, then my Modello was served in a broken glass. The next day a neighbor told me all about Hendo and what a good guy he was and how he had trained his boys a few decades ago. She was extremely satisfied and raved about it. I ordered the 14oz Rib Eye! It was a center cut and was very tender. I highly recommend it, and I ordered the mac n cheese as my side because it was made in house. Perfectly done and very cheesy. The ribeye is thinner than what I am used to but no complaints here. The fries were just okay but I think the truffle fries would be a better choice for this type of french fry. So much fun! We came to watch the World Cup and had a blast. The food was delicious, and the specials were good. Our server, Lydia, was friendly, attentive, and did a wonderful job. I'm taking off one star because of our experience with the hostess, Angie. When we first arrived to meet my girlfriend, who was already seated upstairs waiting for a table, Angie was surprisingly rude (and continued to be rude whenever we dealt with her). We went at 11 am and we were the only group of ladies there so seated quickly. For food we ordered a sandwich with sweet potato fries , the waitress told us the fries were included with the sandwich but was not clear that there was going to be an up charge for sweet potato fries. Unfortunately our waitress was not very attentive either . We were given empty water glasses but no water. My friend had to get up and grab the pitcher of water that was sitting on the work station and served all 10 of us water and no waitress bothered to help or noticed us. Every-time I would try to get a waitresses attention that was passing by , I felt ignored , lots of TVs around so noise level is higher but I didn't want to shout out either. Portion size of food $21 for just a sandwich was I thought way overpriced and nothing special, with an up charge of $2 for the fries. Overall great experience for my first time at Hendo's. It's located right next to Dan Henderson's fitness gym. It's a nice place that looks like a brewery/distillery. I got here right before happy hour so waited a bit to order. Laura was my server and she was great! Very attentive and super friendly. I started off with a cocktail (pear pressure), which was not off the happy hour menu but very delicious and well worth the full price. I then ordered the smash burger with some steak fries on the side. It was more than enough food. The burger was really good. Tender and juicy. The fries had white type of nacho cheese. It was soooo good! I decided to get 2 flatbreads so I can take them to go. Margherita and pepperoni were more like pizza than flatbreads. Very tasty!!! I brought them home and family put on air fryer. They were stop as good as they were fresh. This is definitely a good place to dine and have some drinks. I will be stopping by here again! The actual gym is connected to the restaurant. Hostess was so nice and greeted us right away. Weren't too many people there, I think because lunch didn't start until 1:30 pm on Saturday, we were surprised to hear that. Our server was also very good, she explained the menu to us, they had limited lunch items, in addition to the brunch/breakfast items. We got the wings, a burger and a breakfast plate, as well as prosecco. The wings were really good, but you only get a 6 piece, which makes the cost around $3 per wing. The breakfast was good also, but pricey for a basic plate of eggs, hashbrowns, 2 sausages and toast ($17). Burger my man had was good, a bit on the smaller side but he liked it. Jaw-dropping was my first reaction as I entered Hendo's for the first time with my family in tow. I was blown away by the enthusiasm of the smiling staff, with pride written on their faces. I didn't want to sit down for Happy Hour without first taking a quick tour of a very impressive venue called Hendo's. The main room is vast and open with at least 30' ceilings. Wow!!! You can see all key areas, including: main dining, incredible bar, upper floor dancing/ party section serviced by an amazing elevator, a glass-enclosed room of giant tanks and equipment where they brew the Hendo line of beers. There is an amazing outside area designed for food, live entertainment, and dancing. Simply amazing!! After being seated, we were immediately greeted by Amber, our server. Like all the staff we would meet, Amber made us feel at home and always provided service with a smile. We ordered steaks, burgers, and awesome Cobb salads. Our food was prepared to perfection and with generous portions. Amber was kind enough to introduce Abby, who manages the restaurant services. She was very nice and shared the history of Hendo's and, of course, the main inspiration for all we were experiencing: Dan Henderson, better known as Hendo. Abby told us she would ask Hendo to visit our table to say hello. But first, we should meet Sam, the floor general for all of Hendo's except for the Octagon/training area. I envisioned Sam to be 6'4", 275lbs, but Sam is a lady, a diminutive ball of energy who instantly made you feel appreciated and welcomed. Sam told me how Hendo, Dan Henderson, and family were committed to giving back through charities and programs, especially in support of our youth. Did I mention Hendo is a retired and highly respected MMA/ UFC athlete? As if there wasn't enough to mention, a full-sized Octogan ring and training area are located as part of Hendo's. I don't know that much about what is offered at their fully equipped gym. That's anonother upcoming review. In closing, Hendo came to our table to say hello and to show his appreiciation for my family being there. We took pictures and enjoyed a great conversation. It was quite obvious why Hendo's is a must to visit. I't a graat place to enjoy family, friends. It's a place filled with happy, smiling staff inspired by their leader named Hendo. My foodie group went to Hendo's yesterday. I had the shrimp and grits, which were good but didn't realize balsamic came on top. I don't like balsamic but it was a swirl so it didn't take over the flavor. For the most part, the service was good and fast, except we were not offered water so one of us went and got a nearby pitcher and poured our own. The lighting was not good; we turned on our phone flashlights so we could read the menu. About an hour later, the big glass door was opened, which brought in more light. read more

Hendo's seems like it would be an awesome place if you were just going there to watch a sporting event such as World Cup or NFL and you had some drinks and bar food. The drinks were good, but we were under impressed with the quality and taste of our entrées. There was also a band that was so loud, no one at our table could communicate with each other. This was not a band that I would categorize as heavy, metal, etc. Just some guys playing some songs, but the acoustics were not that great. Everything sounded muffled and loud. My friend ordered Nashville hot chicken wings which were amazing and the Cajun shrimp, that was super good too. When I come back I definitely want to try the crab cakes. Let me start off by saying this place is a hidden gem. From the outside, you wouldn't expect it to be so huge! We found this gem on yelp. It's so nicely decorated and a good place to definitely have drinks! They have great boxing/ufc decor! Service was excellent! We started off with the bourbon meatballs which were so tender and had cheese in them which made them for me even better! Flavoring was definitely there and would get again! I had the short rib grilled cheese with sweet potato fries and that thing was huge! I ate half my sandwich and barely touched my fries. It was so tender and the cheese just made it that much more delicious, paired with the au jus which gave it that salt that brought it all together. Def a must try! Hubby got the shrimp and grits and said that was amazing. The portion for him was huge! He took half of it home. Our daughter had the Mac and cheese bites with fries which she enjoyed but even for the kids, portions are huge so definitely getting a bang for your buck! Desserts we tried the creme brûlée and butter cake. Creme brûlée was like a donut and crunchy on the outside. Very tasty and hubby enjoyed. The butter cake tasted so good just by itself! It came topped with a cinnamon ice cream which to me tasted like a churro, wasn't bad but I would see if I can do plain vanilla next time since I'm not a big churro fan like hubby. After a full day of fishing at Diamond Valley Lake we stopped in Hendo's In Temecula on our way home to Escondido. As a deep fan of UFC since its inception, I was more than happy to support Dan's establishment. Saturday night at 630p so we made a reservation online. This was a great call and our table was ready upon arrival. Started off bad as we really had to search for a place to park. Lots of NO HENDO PARKING in the adjacent lots. We got in the lobby and realized why...there was a live MMA event going on in his gym which is adjacent to the restaurant. I guess on normal nights, things would have been different. Great waiter, very knowledgeable. I had the steak flatbread and a side Caesar salad, chased down with a 20oz HENDO Mexican lager. Noticed at the end of our meal that they actually do brew their own beer here! My lager was crisp and one of the better ones I've had. Great decor, employees, I can't wait to go back. I don't usually write reviews, but I wanted to share our experience at Hendo's during their Super Bowl party. I genuinely love supporting small businesses, and we actually found out about the event through social media, which I appreciated. The positives: Plenty of parking, a great location, and the rustic/industrial décor is really well done -- very cool vibe. The food itself was good quality, and the hostess who checked us in and collected payment was kind and welcoming. Where there's room for improvement: The Super Bowl party itself felt very unorganized and could really benefit from having a dedicated party coordinator or host. For an "unlimited buffet," the food options were extremely limited -- all protein, no carbs, no salads, no vegetables, no desserts, and no snack-style food you'd normally expect at a Super Bowl event. Drinks were pricey, and the sound quality was honestly pretty rough. We even called around 2:30 pm and were told it was packed, yet when we arrived there was no one upstairs or out on the patio at all. Pricing is something I'd also reconsider. It was $48 per person plus tax, plus drinks, and gratuity was automatically added without being clearly communicated. For just two people, we spent around $300 total for roughly two hours, which felt steep for what was offered. Overall, I think Hendo's has a lot of potential -- the space, location, and food quality are there. With better organization, more buffet variety, clearer communication, and a little more attention to the event experience, future parties could be great. read more
