The steak wasn't seasoned and for $60 for 3 sandwiches I was really expecting to enjoy this food. My 4 yr old loves a Philly and she wouldn't eat hers. That says something. The man was very nice but they need to infest in some Seasoning for the meat. Especially at those prices. read more

Nice place but the sandwiches don't use traditional sub size bread. It's closer to the thickness of a hot dog, so they're small. I recommend getting the 9". Still it tastes great, the place is clean, and the employees are friendly. read more

Overall the taste is what matters, so 4 stars for that. 3 stars for presentation of the food. I would have liked the mushrooms to be more evenly distributed throughout the sandwich. The curly fries were good as well. We ate in, because it wasn't very busy and they did have tables taped off for social distancing. All the employees were wearing mask and gloves. We came here for lunch on a Tuesday and I ordered the Philly cheesesteak with salad & lettuce, and my friend ordered the cheesesteak with mushroom. Both were pretty good and I definitely devoured my curly fries! My bread was a little too buttery, and don't get me wrong-- while while I love my butter, I didn't want it to be so drenched and dripping that it can't hold itself together! Came here with my family who really wanted a philly sandwich and I personally do not eat them so I got the lemon pepper wings. I know that they don't specialize in them so I wasn't surprised on how they turned out. I think they were okay. First of all the inside is disgusting! I didn't think about taking pictures. The floors were gross, booths weren't clean, walls were terribly dirty, and there was only one couple in there eating and 3 people working. Second the 7 inch sub was a lot smaller than I expected see picture. And I was not expecting to pay 12$ for a sub, drink, and fries....the fries were great but how can you mess up fries right? Stopped thru on our way home from Atlanta. First time here, wanting something different. Against all the yelp reviews we decided to try. Get here, it's in a strip mall. Ok, no issue really, just more of a chain feeling. Nice clean and smells great. Ordered a "the plain jane" cheesesteak and the "pepperoni pizza" cheesesteak. Price was $20 for 2 combos. Fair at time of ordering. Wait time was only 7 minutes! Received our food, was prepared correctly. We eat here fairly regularly and always have good food. They recently remodeled and it's a little nicer inside now, though still a little grungy and often a bit sticky. But the food is very good. And it's always cooked fresh, so is always hot when you get it. One of my favorite fast food places in the area. read more

I brought my boyfriend here for a nostalgic visit after not being here for a while. I told him about fresh, warm bread, a heaping mound of steak and cheese dripping in a sinful but perfect amount of "cheese grease" accompanied with the best fries on the block. Instead we were greeted with a dry, tired looking older lady working who served us dry, day old bread with a minimum amount of meat and barley any cheese. The fries were over cooked and the atmosphere resembled a funeral home. The only good thing, i guess, was the flavored tea. Other than that, this used to be the best place in Auburn to get a Philly. Philly Connection puts a lot more meat in their sandwiches than a typical sandwich place-- the problem is that it just doesn't have an enormous amount of flavor. I had a buy one sandwich, get one for $.99, so I ordered the traditional philly cheesesteak with onions and provolone alongside a chicken parm with onions and peppers. Neither sandwich was extraordinary, but the philly cheesesteak was not very good. I rate it 3* because it was filled with meat, the service was fast and friendly, and the chicken parm had plenty of tomato sauce and meat. I would suggest always adding tomato sauce and pepperoni if you are a fan of it, because without it the sandwiches are very bland. read more

I have eaten here several times in the past, but have noticed a distinct lowering of food quality - though it never was great to start with. But, I can say that I had the absolute worst Philly Cheesesteak I ever had at this place. Funky tasting, low quality meat with thin, watery pizza sauce on a bland rool. There was almost no cheese on same sandwich even though I specifically asked for extra cheese - on both sandwiches I ordered. I did not say anything at first, but when I looked over I saw a look of disgust on my wife's face. You gotta love the "Philly Connection" since the corporate web site doesn't even have a feedback link and there is no feedback cards or phone numbers anywhere in the store. My opinion apparently has been confirmed by the rest of the Auburn community since there was exactly ONE couple in the store. The good thing is they do have Tasty Cake products that Philly Connection can't mess up and they do have Birch Beer on tap if you are so inclined and you can always get them and go make your own cheese steak at home. Let me preempt this by saying I am a Pennsylvania who grew up right outside of Philadelphia. I have eaten everything from a Lee's style to the late night drunken Tourist Traps that people think are how cheesesteaks are "supposed" to be. With that said, this is one of the best I've had outside of my home state. The meat was done correctly (the only seasoning should be a little bit of salt and garlic if at all), provolone was nice, and the onions were sauteed very well. The downsides are that the bread is not Amoroso. An Amoroso roll has a nice flaky crispness that doesn't soak up the juices, allowing more flavor of the ingredients to come through. The rolls they are using are a little doughy and thus absorb everything, giving the "bland" flavor. A change in bread may make things much tastier. Amorosos can also hold many more ingredients. Furthermore, the provolone could be a little sharper, but again the bread problem may resolve this issue. I'm used to my cheesesteaks nearly bursting through the foil wrapping like an overstuffed Chipotle burrito, obviously I wasn't going to get that down here. TL;DR: Outside of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania this is a pretty good cheesesteak. read more
