I couldn't have asked for a better dinner date than coming here with my super thoughtful boyfriend who completely spoiled me with such great food! We came Valentine's Day weekend from Columbus, GA after attending mass. He really wanted to take me here and I'm so glad he did. We had the bread and butter which was to die for! I think they gave us too much butter over bread ratio, but l'm not complaining haha. So warm, soft, fluffy and delish the bread was. I don't think we talked much when we had our wagyu steak main course cause it was so good, we couldn't say a word to each other. The pepper sauce with the perfectly cooked medium rare steak (which came cut in two pieces, which is a really genius move to serve steak by the way), with white asparagus, caramelized onion, rose petals, and just pure deliciousness. Literally chef's kiss. We also couldn't make up our mind about desserts cause they had a Valentine's dessert menu and the couple sitting next to us also recommended the cookies and milk. Yeah- I'm really lucky and very spoiled. Definitely hit a sugar high, but absolutely worth it. Servers and greeters were also all so kind and attentive. Celebrated a graduation and birthday in our party of 12 people. We got there and didn't have difficulty with parking. Parking lot is easy to navigate. We were promptly seated when we arrived. Our group decided to sit outside and we enjoyed it. The inside ambiance is also very nice. Staff were great. They quickly took our drink orders and came back with our drinks shortly after. We ordered the sampler plate, bread and fries as appetizer which were delicious. Our main dishes all come out together, which was amazing since it was a group of twelve. Everyone enjoyed their food. We also got the cookies and milk for dessert which they brought out with a happy birthday and congrats sign to finish off our celebration. Again the service was great. We're spending a couple of weeks in Auburn, Alabama, and I was excited to explore the local dining scene. Our first stop: Lucy's, located on Moore's Mill Road in the Ogletree Village Shopping Center. The restaurant is the creation of Executive Chef Brian Paolina, who's clearly having fun putting out some creative and thoughtful dishes. We started with Lucy's signature appetizer, The Farmer's Daughter, a massive shareable spread featuring Gigante bean hummus, honey-whipped feta, seasonal veggies, lemon aioli, maple-fried Brussels sprouts, and naan. The Brussels were the undeniable star, sweet and salty with just the right crisp, tossed with thick, smoky lardons of bacon. The hummus and whipped feta held their own too, smooth and flavorful. The chilled, slightly charred vegetables added freshness, while the lemon aioli, though fine, couldn't compete with the rest of the board. The Farmer's Daughter was so filling that my wife changed her entrée order to something lighter: the Caesar Lucia. Romaine and Gem lettuces, cotija, Birria croutons, ancho lime pepitas, pickled onions, guajillo ash, and an adobo Caesar dressing. She added grilled shrimp, perfectly cooked with a smoky char. This was a clever, delicious twist on the classic Caesar, vibrant and well-balanced. I went full fall mode with the pappardelle in roasted pumpkin sage cream, topped with pumpkin spice ricotta, toasted pepitas, and grano padano. The dish was beautifully composed and rich with autumn flavors, though it leaned heavily toward sweet, as our server warned. A protein add-on might have helped balance that sweetness, but it was still satisfying and comforting. Though I was ready to call it a night, our server's description of the Valrhona Caramélia Budino was too tempting. A silky chocolate custard layered with miso caramel and topped with sea salt--it was the perfect finale. The salt cut through the sweetness beautifully, tying the meal together with a final note of elegance. Lucy's stands out in Auburn's growing food scene by crafting creative, seasonal dishes that feel fresh and thoughtful. Really a 2.5star Came here with wife and kids for Sunday brunch. Me and wife have been wanting to try this place for a while. We came with our son and his wife. The restaurant is nice and comfortable inside. We had a reservation and were seated right away. Our waitress was very nice and came with water to start. The brunch menu is smaller but seemed good. I'm not a pimento cheese fan and their only biscuit is a pimento cheese biscuit and I was looking at the bacon and eggs meal. The waitress did say I could substitute for sourdough bread which I did. The wife ordered the ordered the Buddha bowl which is a green salad and added shrimp. My son got the chicken and waffle Bennie and DIL got the lemon ricotta hotcakes. We also started with the coconut and banana toast. The banana toast came out first and even though it was highly recommended by our waitress it was just ok. We then waited at least 45 minutes to an hour for our food. Three tables that were seated after us and ordered after us had already received their food. Our waitress came up to table about 40 minutes after we ordered and right before I could ask about our food she apologized and said it would be coming out soon and it was held up due to a large table order. I didn't ask about the three tables who had been served and let it go but it was obviously not true. I appreciated her acknowledging it but not the lie or the fact she didn't notice sooner and say something to the kitchen. It should also be noted that my wife and DIL both ordered mimosas. However when they came to the table they only brought one. At first I thought they would bring them as they made them but nope had to flag down a staff member to get the second one. As far as my food again it was ok. Not special. My bacon was burnt but eggs were cooked right. Their potatoes are home fries with bell peppers. Ok. The wife did like here salad and shrimp but again it's a salad. The daughter in laws pancakes were nothing special at all. I tried them and tbh would have rather had Waffle House. The son's chicken and waffles were again just ok. The chicken was a good size but flavor meh. Same with waffle. When the bill was brought out I noticed it had a 3% charge on it. I asked the waitress and apparently it's for the cook staff. I've never seen this. Usually cooks are either paid more or they receive a tip out from the waitstaff. I did not like that on top of the upper price they force this charge to increase their staffs pay. There is no mention of this charge that I saw anywhere except the bill. In the end will not be back. Food is very mid but you pay for upper end. Waitress was nice but service was definitely lacking and that 3% charge is asinine. read more

I'll start with what I liked about Lucy's. The space itself was beautiful and very inviting. Exactly what you'd want in a Sunday morning brunch spot. Loved the vibe, music, everything. Service was excellent and attentive and everyone was very nice and welcoming on the Sunday morning I arrived. I left disappointed with the food however. I had trouble deciding what to get and should have went with one of the sweet breakfast dishes. I saw a lot of them on other people's tables and they looked great, particularly the French toast. Instead I went savory and ordered the shrimp and green chili grits. It was underwhelming. Very little heat at all; under seasoned; and a small portion. There were only 4 small shrimp and I wasn't full after eating. With tip for only this dish I paid $24.21. This is just not a fair price for the serving I received. Also, the bill included something called a "Heart of House Fee" which dinged an extra 3%. I'm fine with an extra fee for using a credit card, but this just felt like a way to up-charge on top of an already expensive dish. My husband & I went to breakfast here this morning with a reservation. We despise restaurants that have the wall booth all the way across & then slam tables for 2 within a foot of each other. They took us to a table that was smack dab in between 2 already taken tables & I immediately asked for another table. They sat us on the empty patio. Not sure why they didn't ask us in the beginning if we preferred that. The music played very loud over the speakers was so odd. It would go from a classic oldies song to a 2000s pop song and some weird stuff in between. Now for the food: We ordered the Lemon Lavender Donuts for a starter. They were fritters. In no world would those round, dense, fried balls be labeled donuts. And most of them were overcooked. I was expecting fluffy, light, little donuts. We ate some of the bread out of the middles, but didn't get much for $12. We both ordered the rise & shine breakfast and it was good. I also got a coffee. There weren't any coffee drinks on the menu. Just French press coffee. Well, when a couple sat down close to us, the waitress told them that they had a new espresso machine and could make lattes or whatever... Atmosphere was very quaint and inviting. The hostess created us with a smile and sat us down right away for our reservation. (5 stars for service between them and our server!) For appetizers, we ordered the dry aged meatballs which were very tasty! The Farmers Daughter which is supposed to be the Top 100 Dishes to eat in Alabama. It looked beautiful, but taste wasn't there. Everything seemed somewhat bland. The last appetizer were charred oysters. I've had charred oysters before and none of them were cold like these. They oysters looked cooked, but they were slimy and cold once you uncovered the toppings, not what we expected. Again, dish was beautiful plated but texture and taste weren't there. For entree we decided to split the juicy Lucy burger as we thought we would be full with all the appetizers. Our knowledge of a juicy Lucy burger comes from our time in Minneapolis where this was every restaurants staple item on their menu. The burger we had here had zero cheese in the middle and we didn't taste any seasons or flavor mixed in to the burger. The past reviews I saw were all breakfast and brunch related. We wouldn't come back for their dinner but I'm open to coming back and seeing what their breakfast has. read more

Add 3% to everything you order. Apparently, Lucy's thinks you should pay 3% more for everything you order to pay their "Heart of House". They don't ask you if you want to pay this fee and don't put it on the menu that you're going to pay it, they just add it. How about you pay your own employees. The food and service was good. A group of my friends and I came in for dinner, and our waitress asked if we had any allergies. One friend mentioned she had an allergy to tree nuts, and we ordered a side of the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer to share. My friend ate one and immediately recognized that she was having a reaction, so she went to the front to ask for help. Eventually she left to go to urgent care, and the waitress was incredibly insensitive, and told us something along the lines of that she seemed like she had time to make it to the hospital in a snarky tone, which was extremely insensitive to us. She later on came to our table and said that she had told us that there were nuts on her Brussels sprouts, even though all 9 of us at the table have zero recollection of this interaction. Overall, I am incredibly disappointed over how the situation was handled and the rudeness exhibited by the waitress. The next day, one of us called, and we were told that supposedly one order of the Brussels sprouts were rung in with no nuts, but when we ordered and when we received them to the table, there was no mention of this, especially because apparently the one with nuts was placed right in front of our friend with the allergy. The overall interaction felt highly unprofessional and was handled poorly, and I don't think I will be back for a long time. read more

I think with all the add-ons, my buddy's breakfast was close to $50 and he only had one mimosa. I had some chicken and waffles thing that was pretty outstanding. The menu is super limited and the wait was ridiculous. We got around it being that it was in the 40s and we were willing to sit outside. They had plenty of space heaters. Would I go back? Everything was fabulous MINUS the grown man who seated us. We were first into the empty restaurant (we had reservations) and took us to a high top table. I cannot sit in a high table chair due to a past injury. Requested to move to a low table in the empty restaurant and the man replied very rudely that they have a very complicated seating system and can not just 'switch tables'! He huffed off to see if there was any possibility of switching. (He seriously threw a grown man tantrum). He returned saying how lucky we were that they had one cancellation and moved us. It was ridiculous and everyone in our group commented that he was not abiding to their restaurant theme posted throughout the restaurant: Good Vibes Only. Luckily we had the cutest, polite waitress named Claire to glaze over that situation. We had a great celebration dinner and surprised my daughter with a celebratory candle and keepsake photo. First visit here. Nice building with an open, clean feel. I was dining alone and decided to order two appetizers for my meal. I went with the Truffle Fries and the Charcuterie & Cheese board. The truffle fries were delicious and for dipping they are served with ketchup and a lemon aioli sauce. The lemon aioli was not a good combination for these fries as the citrus did not pair well. Suggest they drop this sauce and create another, something with some bite to it. The Charcuterie & Cheese board was a big disappointment. Quality of items overall was not good. Two cheeses: one a brie-type (was ok) and another semi-soft yellow cheese that was very gritty with a texture that tasted like it was mixed with a little sand; I could not eat it.The bread was fine, but the only "sauce" on the board was an apple butter/jam. They need to add a mustard, this IMO was a huge miss on their part. The chorizo was super fatty and I had to spit out pieces of hard gristle with every bite; I gave up on finishing this. The jamon was fine. Had a couple pickled carrot slices, they need to add a larger quantity veggies. And then they top the board with two breadsticks (lame). I would suggest that they add some quality crackers to the board, something that a person can actually enjoy with the meat and cheese. Zero draft beer here. A handful of craft beers at a steep average price of $7 per 12 oz can. The first beer I ordered they were out of. Service was good, but overall it was a very average experience. read more

After an hour and no delivery of our main course WE had to check on our order only to be told by the manager that the server FORGOT to put in the order. Service was totally lacking. What a nice place to have brunch. The restaurant is very bright and has a relaxing and comfortable ambiance. We were greeted immediately with a smile and sat very soon after arriving. We did have a reservation at opening time. A very pleasant young man brought us some water and poured it at the table. He asked how our weekend was going and really made us feel welcome. Our server arrived and was able to offer some suggestions as we normally ask about favorite dishes on our first visit to a restaurant. She was always quick to check on us and took care of us with a smile during our entire meal. We could see her interacting with other guests as well and making them feel at home. We decided on Lucy's Pimento Cheese as a starter and we made the right decision. It has a bacon onion jam on it and comes with grilled bread. If you like pimento cheese then you have to order this. It was some of the best I have ever eaten. We also each had a Bloody Mary and they were made perfectly with just the right balance of spice. For our entrees we had the Chicken and Waffle Bennie and the Croque Madame. The chicken was very tender and the egg was poached perfectly. The Lucy's Hash that comes with it were seasoned nicely and easily cut with a fork. The croque was delicious and packed with flavor. A very nice surprise was the greens and white balsamic vinaigrette. It might not look like much but the vinaigrette was a surprise star with its flavor. The restaurant does have a bar and also has some outside seating. We look forward to coming back to have dinner on a future visit and I highly recommend Lucy's if you are in Auburn. read more
