Very good food and service. For $2 extra or a drink they let adults order from the kid's menu which is plenty of food.

Just ordered a large order of food for my parents to take back to their Lakehouse. Usually, they like Moes BBQ but they we're so pleased with their Jim 'N Nicks BBQ so much! This is my second time trying Jim 'N Nick's and our food could not be beat! We had the following: Deviled Eggs-made with sweet relish, just like my moms! Delish! Classic Pulled Pork Sandwich-my father devoured it and it was piled high with meat with their special BBQ sauce. Onion rings- hand cut and fried crispy! So good cause they are homemade! Smoked wings- fried to perfection with a sweet red habanera sauce. Served with celery, carrots and blue cheese dipping sauce. Cheese biscuits- these mini biscuits are like popovers... and we popped them right in our mouths. Don't start nibbling cause you can't stop! Couldn't be any happier with our food! Staff greeted us with a smile and was extremely polite and kind. Management also greeted us and made us feel welcomed back! 5 star experience!!!

My son and I came here for our first time. It was lunch time and not real busy. My son had a Carolina pulled pork sandwich with corn on the cob. I had the fried catfish with fries and onion rings. My son said he was very pleased with his food. He agreed with me when I said the onion rings were the best I had ever had. Michael was our server, he was excellent. I will certainly be returning as my wife and daughter will want to come when they see my review. They have outside seating within we liked. The ambiance was great. We enjoyed the passing thunderstorm.

We stopped here on our drive through Alabama in hopes for a good BBQ meal. We went through the drive-thru which did take longer than expected. However the staff did provide two $10 gift cards for when we return. This would be the only saving grace - how accommodating the staff were. Once we got the meal - the Southern Burger with Fries and Carolina-Style Pork Sandwich with the Collars Greens - it unfortunately was not worth the wait. The Southern Burger was enjoyed but the fries were limp and not salted. The collard greens were way too salty. I couldn't even finish it. The Carolina-Style Pork Sandwich was supposed to be pulled pork with Carolina style bbq sauce and coleslaw. None of that was on the sandwich and the pulled pork along tasted like pork - not enjoyable. I couldn't even finish it ... Again the only thing saving this from being a one-star review is how much the staff really were trying to be helpful.

Go for the catfish but the music is too loud. And the collards are too spicy! And the slaw is sweet.

Ah-Maz-Ing! The homemade tortillas were fluffy but not too fluffy, the steak was so tender, I mean, even if you have dentures, this is safe ground to slap them jowls. I don't plan to need a "last meal," but if I did, this would be it. The rice, beans, and that butter are all 10/10.

The hostess quoted us a 40-45min wait, but we were pleasantly surprised it was only about half that. The space was insanely warm-- got it, it's winter and it's cold/rainy, but we were sweating and our baby's cheeks were turning pink. Our waiter made the experience less than ideal. He definitely didn't want to be there and his performance showed that. He was no help when we asked about menu items-- we got nothing more than a shrug and a mumbled 'I don't know'. He was slow to do anything and our beer was barely cold when it made it to the table after letting it sit at the bar for too long. We waited for 40min for our dinner. Even a Friday night in a busy college town shouldn't equal that. Food was good when we finally got it. Not worth the long wait, but decent. Disappointing visit...but, I'll probably go back when it's hopefully less busy and attempt a better experience.

I believe it effected some of the flavors of foods that were boiled in it, too. Gnocchi had some of the same off flavor. In addition, some of the flavors just feel way out of whack for totally unrelated reasons. Sauce that the duck came in was thin and overwhelmed by honey. The risotto it was served with seems like it should be rich and homey. But despite a crazy amount of added dairy still tasted thin and flat. Can't tell you why. Wonky seasoning? None of the dishes reflected any familiarity with acid to lighten or balance a dish. Fried green tomatoes were pretty mid despite a quality remoulade and a bunch of pimento cheese. Ingredients seem like they're decent quality. Desserts are legitimately top notch. Everyone recommends the peanut butter pie. And it is excellent, though pretty obviously not long out of the freezer. The affogato Is legitimately fantastic. And I'm not even talking about the pageantry of dumping the espresso on the salt ice cream. The combo is legitimately satisfying, like a well-rounded creamy candy. The plates are funky and cool and beautiful. The staff all seem like they're 19, attractive, and gregarious.

A friend & I got to drop in for lunch, and it did not disappoint. The decor hasn't changed much - it's still comfortable & clean. There's free parking in the front & sides of the building. Garrett suggested Amsterdam for lunch. Located near the Auburn campus, Amsterdam is one of more well known eateries off campus. Students may not have eaten at Amsterdam, but most can point you in the right direction. I've been tricked by appearances before but Amsterdam is in a category of its own. There's a front and a back part of the building. But I didn't know that until we were led to our table in the back. The front part is a typical "smallish" restaurant with tight booths and tables. The decorations of impressionist painters adorn the walls giving the front dining room a warm inviting feel. When we were led to our table, I thought I was being led to the restrooms. We actually went past the restrooms down a small flight of stairs and into another large room. This beautiful back room was oozing the "hidden wine cellar" vibe throughout. There were tables and chairs in the center with smaller tables and chairs lining one wall and booths on another. Then there's a large full service bar lining the 3rd wall and a workstation on the 4th wall. The ceiling with hanging panels of wood moved the light beautifully and impressed me. There was also a large floor to ceiling wine rack next to our 4 top. Gary tried their Omelet. Three eggs served with conecuh sausage, bacon, onions, peppers, cheddar cheese, and potatoes. With the sourdough toast, the plating was immaculate. I didn't get to taste it, but Gary didn't have any deiicions/ Garrett opted for their Brunch special: Apple & Pecan Freeman toast. When it arrived to our table, we immediately noticed the large slices of French toast. As promised, the French toast was topped with slices of peaches and apples and butter brown sugar with white powder sugar as well. Again I didn't get to taste, but I savored it with my eye. Paul and I tried the Amsterdam Burger. He got some fries as his side, but I upgraded my side to a beautifully plated side salad. With the added fried egg, my patty was grilled to a perfect medium with just a hint of pink. Stacked with it was some lettuce, caramelized onions, applewood bacon, spicy pickles, tomato and their traditional burger sauce all squeezed together between 2 bun halves, it has to be stabbed with a long food pick to hold it together. It was juicy, tasty and just Yom Yom Yom Yom. Our server was attentive and checked on us frequently. Other notable menu items include fried brussels, lobster egg rolls, rum salmon, breakfast croissant, snickerdoodle pancakes, steak & eggs, egg white omelet and shrimp & grits. I was told their Crab Cake & Avocado is to die for. Meal prices are on the high end but Amsterdam understands how to elevate Southern comfort food.
