The potatoes were bland and no matter how much salt I put on the potatoes they did not have any flavor. The same for the corn, mushy and flavorless. This was my first time coming to this restaurant in years and the food was amazing. The customer service was a 10/10 and my waitress (Camryn) did not rush me to order. She able to answer any questions that I had about the food on the menu. I sat at the bar and it was clean and not overcrowded. I ordered the boom boom shrimp tacos, stuffed crab, and the tail on shrimp. After ordering, it too less than 10 minutes for me to receive my food which was good timing. The food arrived to the table fresh and hot. The serving size of the food is worth the price. I think this past visit will be my last. The food is ok. We had a good server. The menu seems a bit too busy and I think the restaurant needs to focus on fewer items. Primary reason for 2 stars is I ordered red beans and rice. I asked if the dish contained sausage as I like sausage in this dish. The server said he would ask the manager and came back shortly and said "oh yes". My dish was served and looked great. It tasted great. No sausage! When I asked the server for sausage he went back and brought me some. Nevertheless, I was charged an extra $4 for sausage. Not a lot but thinking they should know their menu better. I have to agree with the previous reviewers that this restaurant is overpriced and overrated for food I can do better at Red Lobster especially if you are not here for the AYCE deals. A $10 popcorn shrimp basket and fries looked straight out of McDonald's. I think that's their marketing strategy here--to mark up the normal items to the extent AYCE are your only resort. Nonetheless, I had no problem with the food. The items are solid in flavor--not fantastic but never go wrong. Our waitress worked really hard to have us our needs met even though she was waiting on too many tables. I'm not sure the food is better than other fast food seafood chain restaurant but the deals carry this business. We eat here maybe once or twice a year so it's not going to hurt my feelings to lose this as a choice. I won't go back after tonight. We got our food to-go. For my "meal" I got an appetizer of flounder fingers (thinking, oh it's an appetizer portion, I'll have some leftover tomorrow), a side of okra and 1/2 order of hush puppies. The hush puppies were dry and overcooked but I ate a few of them anyway. The part that was unbelievable, laughable and a joke was the $9.50 founder fingers. I saw rave reviews online for this place when I used Google to find seafood near, and since we were passing through Alabama and not far from this establishment, we decided to give it a try. Our waitress, Misty, greeted us with a smile as we were getting out of our vehicle. I asked do we seat ourselves outside or wait on her. She was always smiling and seemed very friendly throughout us being there. We sat outside and eventually moved inside as it was cooler and no one was hardly eating inside. The food here was awesome! My party ordered oysters, and they were some of the biggest oysters that I've ever seen. The fried crawfish basket was good. They put shrimp in their coleslaw, so if you ever go there, you'll get that with your meal. The fried catfish was very delicious as well. Someone in my party ordered the shrimp, but I didn't taste it. The broccoli was good and Misty brought butter for me to dip in it, but I ended up pouring some of it on my broccoli. I was a big fan of Shrimp Basket prior to this one visit. We ordered at 6:40, our food did not arrive until close to 8pm. At this point, the waitress left our glasses empty and basically neglected us. However she said "we'll discount something." So, at 8:23 comes the check. When we ask about a discount the waitress then said "My manager said we can't do that." When we asked for the manager, the waitress went to get him. The only problem was, the manager never came. Way to listen to your patrons, Shrimp Basket. (did you catch my sarcasm?) To put it simply, we should have gotten up and walked out.
