The service was average; with so few patrons, I might've expected a bit more attentiveness, but overall it was a decent experience. Ordered delivery on 3/6/2026. How can I describe the Blooming Onion I received. I would have preferred a colonoscopy prep. It looked amazing. I began on the outside, as one does. For kicks, I got a piece from the middle. Big mistake. Although it was crunchy on the outside, my mouth filled with RAW BATTER. Walked to for take-out. Met the new owner/manager Hoover. He was very personable. Ordered 2 entrees of Salmon with shrimp & mushrooms, baked sweet potato w/ butter only & house salads w/ ranch dressing. I requested salmon be cooked med rare knowing it would continue to cook. It was perfect when I got back home after resting about 5 minutes. The shrimp were decent size but I would've preferred them grilled a little more vs. just sauteed. Still they were good. Do wish there were more mushrooms. It would be better. But overall I was pleased for this was the first time I'd ordered this. Salads were loaded with toppings, really loaded. Me and my family came here this past May for my graduation dinner and I decided to give outback another chance since the last experience wasn't so good. True enough my food was hot and fresh. The sauce that goes with the coconut shrimp a flop. Also, I had the house salad and it was dry. The shrimp were better off without the sauce and the baked potato was good. I had the strawberry kiwi rita and it was good. Overall the customer service could use some improvement because it took them 10 minutes to give us a menu after being seated. We sat at the bar and it was nice and clean as well as the restrooms. But it will be a while before I come back to dine in. read more

Probaably the best take out experience I've had. Being a live in nurse for 3 75+ folks, I know I'm crazy, it's a rarlty that I please everyon. Had lunch here on Saturday (8/3/24) with an Auburn University graduation party of 20. Chris our waiter was "tops". He never complained and when we apologized for being too extra he said no problem and kept it moving. I had the baby back ribs which were excellent and my wife had the chicken wings which were also good. There were many other dishes eaten, but I can't comment on them except to say no one complained. Good steak. Their lemonade is so good I wish I could go there everyday. It can get noisy but most of the time it's a little to quiet. The waiters are so nice, especially in Montgomery. Disappointed. I used to get an Outback ribeye once a week. A few things went wrong on this visit. First, the ribeye was THIN ... it was advertised as 13 oz, but I would estimate it at 9 oz. I would estimate the thickness at 1/2 in ... I mean it was thin. Second, although it was cooked fine, it was not cooked how I ordered it. The waiter confirmed what I wanted (and they have cooked it before), but the thin cut probably would have resulted in a piece of shoe leather. My guess is the cook aborted and did the best he could. Third, service was average. Once my order was placed, I never saw my waiter again. He was doing prep work and apparently too busy to serve customers. A friend of mine is a chef and has encouraged me to stop going and go to a real steakhouse instead. I think he's right. I'm guessing my Outback days are over. read more

The manager of the establishment, Lily, is a very kind hearted individual who just loves her job. she made us feel so welcomed. we came an hour before closing and the entire staff were happy to help us. I really dont know where to start, but want to warn everybody out there ... Long wait - sir it should only be about 30 maybe 40 minutes (it was almost double that at 75)... "Your waiter will be right with you" (10 minutes later we have to ask and it's the guy ignoring us over to the side). Order food and drinks only to have the waiter come. Ack and tell us that they are out of lettuce. LETTUCE. Are you kidding us? Broccoli and Asparagus it is. Drink #1 comes but no beer. "We are changing the keg and it should be just a minute." Bread and appetizers come, still no beer. Ask..."I'll check" is the answer. Dinner arrives, well most of it because the Broccoli and Asparagus didnt make it. ...still no beer. "How is everything?" I tell him to cancel the beer and that we need the veggies. He looks shocked ... no follow up. The veggies come and they are cool not quite cold, but not hot. Not worth eating. Give up...eat steak and potato (both were actually ok but steak was dry for Med Rare). This was an absolute failure of a meal. There is a reason I normally dont eat at chain restaurants anymore, but my son (and I) wanted a Blooming Onion. Sad that what used to be one of our favorite chains has fallen so far. read more

Love this place!!! I'm gluten free, (Celiac), So I must be very cautious about where I eat out. This is my happy place. The service is very good. And when it's not, for some reason, management takes it seriously. They want happy customers to get a great meal & service. You can talk to them personally & they listen. I go at least twice a month, sometimes more. The food is delicious & prepared for each individual customer's orders. The staff is courteous, concerned, and you can see it in their faces & serving. New staff is Keats trained well & they hire people who really want to be good at their jobs & genuinely care about the customers service & meal experience. Everyone from the management down tries to be customer conscious & appreciative. The food is great almost all the time. Even when it is less than what was expected, it is good quality. If not, just tell your server& they will make it better or get the manager to talk with you personally about any concerns. There are times in any restaurant where things aren't perfect. That's life. But these people go above & beyond the call of duty & customer concern & care to see that their customers have a great leak & feel at home & welcomed. I always get a gluten free separate menu. It was explained to me on my first visit several years ago. Now I know & am confident of it. The kitchen staff are aware of gluten free preparation of those orders as well. But I always tell my server that I am gluten free at first. They need to be aware of that while taking your order. That's your responsibility. Then they can alert the kitchen staff & chefs. They treat me with courtesy & concern, not k like a stepchild with an irritating request. Trust me, that makes a great impression on a gluten free Celiac customer. I feel like a welcomed & appreciated customer & like I belong there as well. They listen & treat you like family. I respect that. Of course that goes both ways. As a customer, you should be nice as well. Do unto them as you wish they will do unto you. I get the Victoria's filet, the best meal in my opinion. The house salad, always with no croutons. No bread of any kind. A baked potato with gluten free toppings. And even the gluten free salad dressings are listed on the menu. Sweet tea. I get the 8 Oz, cut it in half & make two meals out of it. It is delicious, tender, juicy & tasteful, easy to cut & eat. The salad is excellent. They aim to please & give you great food as well. Even supply you with a great to go box at the end. The food leftovers are still as good at home later as they were while you are there. I know & am confident that I get a GF MEAL that I can trust is prepared correctly & safely. If it's not to my liking they will return it to the kitchen & make it so. I'm not a perfectionist here. I understand that nothing is perfect all the time. But they have proved to me that their customer is important in all their dining service & meal prep, from greeter, server, staff & management. I highly recommend Outback in Opelika for anyone, but especially for those of us who are CELIAC & GF diet customers. It's my number 1 restaurant!!! First time here and it was wonderful. Came for lunch, only us an another table at the moment and that's ok. Food was well cooked, I had the salmon and my husband had the 22oz ribeye. Server took over 10 minutes to get to us, seemed like she was rushing out customers. She even ignored our order and laughed when we tried to proceed in placing the order. Incredibly rude and a huge lack of customer service. We proceeded to leave due to her not being able to take the order. It quickly became evident why the diner is so empty. I've been to this restaurant a couple of times and it was nice, but my most recent experience was HORRIBLE. I placed an order with Door Dash and the Outback staff was AWFUL, especially the manager! Outback did not give me a baked potato that I paid for, which was NOT DOOR DASH'S FAULT. Outback took absolutely no accountability for their screw ups and the manager was incredibly rude to me, blaming Door Dash the entire time, and saying that "their delivery service was better". On top of all of this, the food I did receive was awful. Dry, way too much seasoning to the point that my stomach hurt. No apology was received either. I will not be coming here again and I do not recommend it, especially if you deliver. read more

It turns out East Alabama has something to offer in terms of ambiance and attentive service and surprisingly; it is at the local Outback Steakhouse. Probably the best Outback I have visited in a long time! Shockingly, this small town location has been recently renovated in full. The decor is modern and inviting. We were sat quickly although it was a very busy Sunday afternoon. The staff were very friendly, upbeat and attentive; this level of courtesy and care is very unique for an Outback, nice! Had the tortilla chicken soup with no sour cream or tortilla; crispy jalapeño lobster bites and avocado stack as our starters and all three were very good. Ordered the filet mignon with steamed vegetables and lobster tail. I was pleasantly surprised for a place like Outback: the steak was cooked to perfection and very lean/tender, lobster tail Was just as good as many high end seafood joints! A side of mac'n'cheese was memorable enough that we asked to purchase an order to go; mm mm mm! Very well done Auburn Outback! We will be back when In town next; keep it going! read more

Second time to this location. We were told to leave the last time because of a gas leak, we understood so we tried again and glad we did. Food: 5 The food was amazing. I had the French Onion Soup, baked potato(loaded), and the top sirloin. The food was great. My brother got the Caesar salad and he did not care for it, it had a weird flavor, tasted like the salad had onions in it but when I tasted the dressing it was just that maybe a hint of horse radish. Service: 5 We were served by Jordan. He was very nice and helped choose the best items on the menu. He told us his life story on how he owns a bar and grille in Memphis, and about his kids. Oh how I loved Outback 25 years ago when it was new and took pride in its food. Age has not treated it well. It must be about bankrupt because it is routine to see the large Outback store signs with missing lights that are never repaired. I was traveling through Alabama and craving steak so I rolled the dice in spite of the broken bulbs in the sign. I like my steak medium rare so assuming they'd overcook it I ordered it rare. It came out medium. The meat itself was nasty. I'm not sure if it was rancid or what but it tasted like what I imagine poo would taste like. Really nasty. I didn't bother sending it back. I just wanted out of there. On the positive side my wife liked her steak salad. That was my last visit to any Outback. Oh well. read more
