Best old BBQ left in all of the state. Best ribs, pork, salads, chicken around. The Texas toast is amazin'. Huge glasses of tea, lemonade and soda. Great portions. Great smoke on the meat. These guys know their Cue!

Okay, so I hadn't been here in a couple decades. Wondered why the restaurant didn't look open. Oops, probably because it was an away football weekend, a night game, and they don't have TVs. It's alright-we were in town for another youth sports tournament, so it wasn't the end of the world. I think we lost the game anyway. Friendly staff, huge portions, and well-cooked meats. Very nice to sit and enjoy a quiet dinner after a long day. Quarter chicken was enough to take back and enjoy some later.

Beans,Ribs ,corn.

For starters, I have never been so disappointed with a restaurant than this. First was our drinks that the waitress brought were in her arms and basically had one leaning up in her armpit ! we ordered apps and didn't get them, (got totally something else )the waitress asked if we want them after our meal comes out and didn't get the right ones that we even ordered. After waiting an hour and saying something our food came out but oh here's a surprise it was cold the meat, the fries, the beans , the corn was so dried out it actually looked like deer corn! If that was smoked then bad on them! The corn bread was a burnt muffin. Now I understand it got busy but when folk coming in after us gets meals before hand there definitely something to be said about that ! Won't be back good luck if you go here and eat !

I've been walking planet Earth for almost 44 years. I've had a lot of things thrown into tortillas…read more In fact, I've been on somewhat of a journey to find the best fajitas; that journey has now come to an end with my takeout order of skirt steak fajitas from Bow & Arrow in Auburn, AL. Ah-Maz-Ing! The homemade tortillas were fluffy but not too fluffy, the steak was so tender, I mean, even if you have dentures, this is safe ground to slap them jowls. I don't plan to need a "last meal," but if I did, this would be it. The rice, beans, and that butter are all 10/10.

It's been years since I tried out Bow and Arrow (2021), so I was excited to get back to AU and…read morevisit again. The hostess quoted us a 40-45min wait, but we were pleasantly surprised it was only about half that. The space was insanely warm-- got it, it's winter and it's cold/rainy, but we were sweating and our baby's cheeks were turning pink. Our waiter made the experience less than ideal. He definitely didn't want to be there and his performance showed that. He was no help when we asked about menu items-- we got nothing more than a shrug and a mumbled 'I don't know'. He was slow to do anything and our beer was barely cold when it made it to the table after letting it sit at the bar for too long. We waited for 40min for our dinner. Even a Friday night in a busy college town shouldn't equal that. Food was good when we finally got it. Not worth the long wait, but decent. Disappointing visit...but, I'll probably go back when it's hopefully less busy and attempt a better experience.

Our attendant was Faith - she took very good care of us. We enjoyed talking with her. We give her A++ for doing a great job. Also compliment the young man who cleaned and set up tables AND made sure we had a full glass of water. He said it was his third day on job and he did a wonderful job for being "new". The ambiance was very nice - every person we talked with was very friendly and pleasant. The restaurant was full but the service went smooth. This was our second visit and we plan to come again.

I believe it effected some of the flavors of foods that were boiled in it, too. Gnocchi had some of the same off flavor. In addition, some of the flavors just feel way out of whack for totally unrelated reasons. Sauce that the duck came in was thin and overwhelmed by honey. The risotto it was served with seems like it should be rich and homey. But despite a crazy amount of added dairy still tasted thin and flat. Can't tell you why. Wonky seasoning? None of the dishes reflected any familiarity with acid to lighten or balance a dish. Fried green tomatoes were pretty mid despite a quality remoulade and a bunch of pimento cheese. Ingredients seem like they're decent quality. Desserts are legitimately top notch. Everyone recommends the peanut butter pie. And it is excellent, though pretty obviously not long out of the freezer. The affogato Is legitimately fantastic. And I'm not even talking about the pageantry of dumping the espresso on the salt ice cream. The combo is legitimately satisfying, like a well-rounded creamy candy. The plates are funky and cool and beautiful. The staff all seem like they're 19, attractive, and gregarious.

A friend & I got to drop in for lunch, and it did not disappoint. The decor hasn't changed much - it's still comfortable & clean. There's free parking in the front & sides of the building. Love: service (kind, helpful); lobster egg rolls (crispy, delicious filling); turkey wrap (soft lavosh bread, dip in honey mustard & tzatziki); sweet potato chips (best in the restaurant game); toffee cake (moist, added praline pecans for crunch)

Garrett suggested Amsterdam for lunch. Located near the Auburn campus, Amsterdam is one of more well known eateries off campus. Students may not have eaten at Amsterdam, but most can point you in the right direction. I've been tricked by appearances before but Amsterdam is in a category of its own. There's a front and a back part of the building. But I didn't know that until we were led to our table in the back. The front part is a typical "smallish" restaurant with tight booths and tables. The decorations of impressionist painters adorn the walls giving the front dining room a warm inviting feel. When we were led to our table, I thought I was being led to the restrooms. We actually went past the restrooms down a small flight of stairs and into another large room. This beautiful back room was oozing the "hidden wine cellar" vibe throughout. There were tables and chairs in the center with smaller tables and chairs lining one wall and booths on another. Then there's a large full service bar lining the 3rd wall and a workstation on the 4th wall. The ceiling with hanging panels of wood moved the light beautifully and impressed me. There was also a large floor to ceiling wine rack next to our 4 top. Gary tried their Omelet. Three eggs served with conecuh sausage, bacon, onions, peppers, cheddar cheese, and potatoes. With the sourdough toast, the plating was immaculate. I didn't get to taste it, but Gary didn't have any deiicions/ Garrett opted for their Brunch special: Apple & Pecan Freeman toast. When it arrived to our table, we immediately noticed the large slices of French toast. As promised, the French toast was topped with slices of peaches and apples and butter brown sugar with white powder sugar as well. Again I didn't get to taste, but I savored it with my eye. Paul and I tried the Amsterdam Burger. He got some fries as his side, but I upgraded my side to a beautifully plated side salad. With the added fried egg, my patty was grilled to a perfect medium with just a hint of pink. Stacked with it was some lettuce, caramelized onions, applewood bacon, spicy pickles, tomato and their traditional burger sauce all squeezed together between 2 bun halves, it has to be stabbed with a long food pick to hold it together. It was juicy, tasty and just Yom Yom Yom Yom. Our server was attentive and checked on us frequently. Other notable menu items include fried brussels, lobster egg rolls, rum salmon, breakfast croissant, snickerdoodle pancakes, steak & eggs, egg white omelet and shrimp & grits. I was told their Crab Cake & Avocado is to die for. Meal prices are on the high end but Amsterdam understands how to elevate Southern comfort food.
