I was very sick at the time with a pressure sore, unable to travel and trying to get back home. She did not care. I used to live in the neighborhood as well. It was one of the worst experiences and my dogs are now markedly worse. I could leave negative stars. I would do not leave your dogs here. They're just in a kennel being neglected.

Jesse assured us that she had experience with this kind of dynamic. She strongly encouraged us to sign up for her "Puppy Rockstar" package which is eight sessions for $1,360. She came across as personable, confident, and knowledgeable, so we trusted her and paid in full upfront (though this was optional). Despite carefully following the program (including more than triple the 10 min minimum daily training time she advised) our puppy's behavior deteriorated. After three sessions, it was clear her training methods (which relied entirely on treat-based reward and offered no alternate tools or structure) weren't effective for our situation. We made the hard decision to go with a more intensive program elsewhere. When we contacted Jesse to explain our situation and request a prorated refund for the five unused sessions, she refused, citing a strict "no refunds" clause in her paper work packet. Her only offer was to put our remaining sessions on hold and extend their expiration, even though we made clear that we had already moved to other training out of necessity. It is important to note that the contract also included a clause discouraging us from working with or even taking advice from any other trainer during the program. In our view, this kind of exclusivity, especially in a situation involving a toddler and a rapidly escalating behavioral issue, was unreasonable and not in the best interest of our family or the puppy. Ultimately, we had to prioritize safety and act against the restriction as quickly as possible, even though we initially agreed in good faith. I made this clear to Jesse and offered a fair compromise, in my opinion, of allowing her to retain payment for an additional unused session as a gesture of goodwill. She declined. I voiced my frustration and, frankly, shock at her stance. When I told her I would be leaving a review of our experience, she said that doing so was "threatening her business." I clarified that we were sharing our honest experience so others could make informed choices. My wife and I don't see it that way-we believe sharing an honest account is important for other families deciding who to welcome into their homes with training. Her communication about resolving these issues reflects a rigid and transactional mindset rather than a client-focused one. That was particularly disappointing given how kind and understanding she initially seemed. I strongly advise others to approach with caution: If you choose to work with Proud Paws, I recommend avoiding prepayment, requesting a copy of any contract, and understanding there may be little room to adapt if things don't go as expected. Check out my other reviews-I hate leaving negative ones and have only done so once before. I much rather spread positive news with people and typically have much better luck on yelp finding the right providers. As an update: our puppy has been with a new trainer for just one week, and the change has been dramatic. She's calmer, better behaved, and able to interact positively with our toddler. It's been a complete turnaround. We're beyond relieved that we made the change, though still hurting from the way our family was treated here. We had tried what felt like everything and his separation anxiety was so bad that it got to the point that my partner and I basically gave up our social lives, had to coordinate with one another one of us would be going to the market or if it would be a trip where we both can go but someone sits in the car with our dog. We met the team at K9 Logic Dog Training and they assessed our dog and determined what kind of training program would be best for him to address his separation anxiety and the other skills we wanted to work on. Within a week we noticed progress. We finally were able to leave the house for an hour and go to the market together. Week by week the time has gradually gotten longer where we have been able to leave him alone for longer periods of time to reclaim our social life back. I was skeptical at first, but after that first week I became a believer. We are so happy with the results that for the purpose of just giving him structure and routine we signed him up for more classes and he LOVES being at school. We've also participated in the weekend group training sessions and they are so helpful to not only give our dog routine, but it's a great way to reinforce structure and keep him sharp with everything he learned at school. We boarded our Maltipoo pup, Remy, during the peak of teething-destory everything era while we were out of town for wedding. The trainers were really great and patient with him. You could have also tell Remy was very comfortable with them. When we picked up Remy he was happy, healthy and very excited to see us. He also exhibited more attention and checked in with us more. Pulling on the leash became non-existent and his new default is now to sit in a heel position. The only improvement I'd suggest is that I wish I received more updates regarding Remy while he was boarded. We received a photo and say a couple of videos on Instagram, but more would have been welcomed. Regardless, we're happy with the training and the additional homework/tips to practice while at home. Remy continues to be a regular at the group trainings and other outings hosted by K9 Logic. I feel comfortable with my pup socializing with different dogs in the presence of the K9 Logic team.

It is like summer camp for dogs, with a ranch style yard, swimming & hiking. Our dogs used to shake when we dropped them off at the boarders or groomers, but here they run straight to the back & don't even look back! What I love about the ranch as opposed to other boarders is that I know the dogs are continuously socialized & stimulated. They don't sit in isolated rooms, where you have to pay extra for socializing or play time. They get a lot of exercise -- you can pay for hikes or training sessions during boarding. And like the name says: it's affordable!! So I don't worry about the cost or impact of long-term boarding on my pocket or my dog. Which really helps with our busy traveling lifestyle. After using these trainers/boarders over the years, they've become like second parents to our dogs. I know they get love, belly rubs/pets, & treats. We receive photos of the dogs and can see how truly happy they are on the ranch. I fully trust them with my fur babies! We found Affordable Dog training when rescuing an aggressive/defensive large dog; he had issues with toy possession, trust issues, hand biting & sensitive areas from previous abuse. The trainers helped us with training in our house, at the ranch, & out in real-life situations. They recommended the best tools to help, like slip leads, short leashes & shock collars for training. We really saw the dog's demeanor change over training & every time we picked him up from the ranch he was more trusting & loving. We had a second dog with somewhat opposite behavioral issues: dog aggression on leash, pulling & defensiveness of owner. They knew exactly how to help in this case too! We enrolled Poppy, our 4 month old puppy at the time, in their 10-day reverse board-and-train program. I wasn't expecting her to come out perfectly trained in 10 days, but I did expect the level of intensive training they advertised on their site. The trainer we got was sweet and had a calm energy, which I liked since Poppy was skittish around new people. But the actual training didn't come close to matching what was promised. We have security cameras at home, so I could see exactly what was happening while we were gone. Most days were only 5-10 minutes of actual training. The rest of the time the trainer was watching TV or on her phone. If we'd wanted someone to watch TV with our puppy, we could've asked a neighbor for free. By the end of it, Poppy knew "sit" and "down" and not much else. The separation anxiety and potty training work we'd specifically talked about before signing up hadn't really progressed. I want to be clear, my problem wasn't that she wasn't fully trained in 10 days. It's that we paid for a specific service and didn't get it. I emailed the owner, Jeff, sent him the video clips, and asked for a partial refund. He wouldn't address any of it directly, just offered services that were already included in our package and turned down the refund. Then he was rude to my husband on the phone, which threw me because my husband is about as easygoing as they come and almost never gets worked up over anything. I also found it concerning that the exit document I was given included a clause saying clients agreed not to post negative reviews. I never signed it, but seeing that made me question how much honest customer feedback actually makes it online. Super shady. We ended up going with a different trainer afterward, and Poppy turned out exactly how we'd expected her to after actual, consistent training. Maybe we just got unlucky with the trainer. I can only go off our own experience, but between the training we actually received and how they handled it afterward, I wouldn't recommend them.

I was intimidated and overwhelmed looking for help but from our very first zoom she made me feel so supported, it actually made me emotional We just completed our private training program with Trudy, who comes to our house, and it was so fun ! My dog took to her right away. Whoever said you can't teach an old dog new tricks just hasn't met Trudy. She's great with him, and she's been so enjoyable to have around. At this point, I'd happily skip the training and just have her over for dinner lol We've also done some Spicy Dogs Club with Shakina, who is wonderful too. However, I've had consistent issues with scheduling and communication. Appointments have started late, and I've had to follow up multiple times just to book sessions. While I understood being charged for a missed appointment, I've also had to remind staff about payments and encountered difficulty getting responses--most recently calling twice without securing a booking. The training itself is strong, but the administrative side needs improvement, as it impacts the overall experience and business I hope this feedback reaches the trainer directly. My puppy was out of control one day to the point something needed to be done and a friend recommended katana saying they were the best. They were able to take my dog right away because it was a bit of an emergency situation (as I said, she had done something shocking and very bad) which was amazing of them to make a next day opening. One month passed and I went to go pick up my dog and did the final two training sessions, and now I'm wondering why I have not done this with all of my dogs, as I have three dogs (now only one is properly trained) it was definitely worth it and I am amazed with how well-behaved my dog is and so many commands that she knows, it's incredible!! I cried tears of joy getting her back and seeing her improvement. I know I have a good dog for life now, and I can grow from this training and keep training her. I have changed as a dog owner! The other amazing thing she was there over the holidays, and they sent me the cutest Thanksgiving and Christmas photos of her all dressed up, and they also sent me videos of her being very well-behaved in public and doing commands. We became prisoners in our own home. We either had to take him everywhere with us or have one of us stay behind. It became a huge burden, and we found ourselves scheduling our entire lives around our dog. We decided to work with Dawit, and little by little, things started to improve. When we got Cooper back from training, he was like a completely different dog. He no longer pulled on the leash, was not reactive when he saw other dogs, his recall was amazing, and many of our typical worries disappeared. However, the separation anxiety still persisted. This is where Dawit truly deserves recognition. He never gave up on us or on Cooper. Our training journey probably lasted longer than most because of how severe Cooper's anxiety was, but Dawit went far beyond the typical follow-ups. Over the course of several months, the training sessions, check-ins, texts/videos, communication, and home visits finally paid off. There were times when I genuinely thought we'd never be able to return to a normal life, but our consistency combined with Dawit's continued support and new techniques made all the difference. Cooper can now stay home alone in his crate without issues. That being said, training only works if you put in the effort. We followed through with everything Dawit recommended, even when it was difficult or when we didn't see immediate results. It's easy to fall back into old habits or give up when progress feels slow, but perseverance truly pays off. Side note: Dawit is just an all-around great person who genuinely cares about what he does. Our dog absolutely adores him. We also love the boarding services he offers -- especially because Cooper comes home exercised and happy. Another huge plus is that Cooper is now off-leash certified, and we fully trust him to make good decisions. I watched her on the webcams (so many!) and she did great! Lots of shade options for her and lots of pups for her to be around. It was nice to see her socialize! She passed and I felt really great about her experience. Upon arrival and departure, all very secure. The team was great and I can't wait to see how she does after her first overnight experience.
