My dogs came back with wounds on their faces. Emily promised to be able to train them to not escape or to have less prey drive. Which were lies. The dogs came back traumatized and their behavior was worse. She was not able to improve any behaviors and the dogs were in kennels for most of the days and i received maybe two pictures. Even though they had wounds on them and I did not want to pay the entire amount she wouldn't give my dogs back to me until I paid nearly $10,000 It was insane. I was very sick at the time with a pressure sore, unable to travel and trying to get back home. She did not care. I used to live in the neighborhood as well. It was one of the worst experiences and my dogs are now markedly worse. I could leave negative stars. I would do not leave your dogs here. They're just in a kennel being neglected. read more

Emily's K9 Training is the BEST. Winston is our second labrador - we would have loved our first lab, Henry, to have received training through Emily's K9. The Team is knowledgeable, professional, communicative, helpful, always training-session timely - all around terrific. We searched for just the right trainer for Winston - and that for sure is Emily's K9 Training. He is a sweet lab but we totally could not walk with him. That was a huge concern because Henry would run after squirrels, other dogs - on our walks. So we wanted to be sure Winston would listen, and mind our commands while out and about. 11/12/25. Where do I start. I live in Bay area and while visiting with my daughter in LA, she said Mom it's time to place Skeeter my male Mix breed into a boot camp to address his demand barking & obedience training. I googled and chose Emily's K9 training in LA from Yelp . Best decision I ever made. I entrusted my sweet Skeeter into their camp for 3 weeks, I was nervous at first but in the end it was worth every dollar spent. Absolutely nothing happened during our training sessions. She took pictures of my dogs and said she wanted to send them to her brother her head one that looked like it. She did not complete this training session I was required to train the dog on my own to eat out of my hand and she would not work with her until that happened. Emily is absolutely fabulous. She has been training our mastiff for the last 6 months and I'm astonished with every new trick and command he comes home with. She takes the time to really understand the dogs and also spends as much time necessary to train the owner with how to control the animal. Emily probably saved my marriage. Our family adopted our Pit Bull/Chihuahua, Nova a few years ago and were in deep denial of her need for real training. Nova is probably 6 or 7 years old now. She's an older momma with plenty of time on the street and the emotional baggage to go with it. Some call it "reactive" and "anxious" but to our family and everyone in the neighborhood, it looked like an aggressive and uncontrolled mess. Nova barked at anything that moved and was nearly impossible to walk. Finally, after too many arguments with my wife, we called in the pros. Well, not Emily at first. We went through two other trainers and an online course (and three times as many books) until I found Emily. She stood out among the other phone interviews as having a firm but patient approach, and she was straightforward about the amount of effort she expected from me. That's when I could tell she was serious. It wasn't something I could completely outsource, and she showed me how - and why - to have a real bond with Nova that resulted in a complete transformation. We trained Nova once a week for several months at Emily's awesome facility in Tujunga. Nova is a completely different dog now in the best way. There is a trust between us that we built through structure and communication that was not there before. Emily is the only trainer who even tried to create that for us. Nova was reacting out of fear and uncertainty as well as a lack of understanding of what I expected as the leader. Once we got that all figured out, Nova started to chill out and it's been constant improvement since. She seems so much happier now that she doesn't feel the need to be on edge all the time. It's true that a lot of the "training" is teaching the person what to do and being disciplined about the work. Some of the other trainers and approaches I tried wanted to make it seem like I wouldn't have to do any work. That's just not logical. It's a good sales pitch, but it's not going to work. Once Emily showed me some basics and gave me the confidence to know that we could help Nova get what she needs to not be anxious all the time, it was realtively easy. Yeah, it took repetition and changing our habits, but that's how stuff works. You put in the work and you get the results. We got the results. It's insane how much happier Nova and my wife are now. Nova sees other dogs and instead of going apes**t, she looks at me, sits, and calmly waits for my reaction. It was a good amount of work, but it's all worth it. My dog Teddy was a total reactive crazy dog I got from the Palmdale shelter when I saw he was going to be euthanized the next day( or so they say) He was a stray , wanted to tangle with every dog he met and at 90 pounds and lunging on his leash at the mere sight of another dog was pretty uncontrollable. Teddy is my 7 th large dog so I thought I could work with him myself but after 2 weeks of fighting with him I luckily found Emily , June and Daniel by random scrolling and decided to sign up for 8 lessons. She was the only trainer that gave me realistic timeline of how everything will be moving on and was able to provide the reassurance i needed to take my dog to her. Our timid little pup, Scampi, was a reactive boy before we brought him to Emily for some training. In only a few sessions she taught us ways to bring up his confidence which in turn helped us stop him from acting aggressive when scared.
