I brought my dog in for a grooming appointment at 1:30, which I had scheduled a few days in advance. I was told the service would take 2-3 hours. After waiting 3.5 hours, I called to check on the status and was informed that they offer a "VIP service" for an additional $20, which allows those customers to be prioritized. As a result, my dog's appointment was delayed while others were taken first. If I schedule an appointment for a specific time, I expect my pet to be serviced accordingly unless there are unavoidable delays. This policy feels frustrating and inconsiderate to customers who plan their time around these appointments. If higher pricing is necessary, it would be more transparent to adjust base rates rather than introduce add-ons that delay standard appointments. Overall, this was a disappointing experience, and I will be looking for another groomer in the future read more

Can't say enough good things about the vet department. I just moved to Tujunga and have a pretty anxious terrier mix rescue. They answer the phone right away, the staff remembers my dog, they calm him down, and are very attentive. Special shout out to Kino and Annie who have been consistent staff when I go there. They have seen me at my worst and are so incredibly kind, professional, and reassuring. Every experience has been 10 out of 10. Very grateful. read more

I don't really have an issue with the store employees other than they need to be more knowledgeable when it comes to pet food. Every time I go shopping there's nobody around to help. My problem is with the grooming department. I spend $65 to get my Boston Terrier bathed, shampooed, teeth brushed, nails clipped or grind down, they check and clean his butt (anal glands) and ears. Lastly a 15 min brushing. They say we'll call you in a hour. Normally I wait or go shop around. Not more than 20 to 25 mins later I get a phone call saying my pup is ready for pickup. HUH ? So they washed shampooed, checked ears, butt, brushed teeth, clipped/grind nails and a 15 min brushing in 20 to 25 mins? I now bring my Boston to PetSmart's competitor, where I can watch them do all of the above except the bathing. I pay the exact same price which takes 45 +/- mins. read more

If you want to go to a glorious place, where people love animals and are also great with humans, please go to this PetSmart. I've sworn off the other place and now I'm a huge fan of Tujunga PetSmart. Every single time I've gone there, I've had such a great experience with their staff. You walk in and are welcomed with a hello. Questions? They got you. Had an especially sweet moment with another cat loving, very cool clerk today after I went bananas over their adorable kittens up for adoption. These are rescued kittens/cats who come from the Pasadena Humane Society. Kudos to PetSmart Tujunga for giving them a better shot at getting their furrever home. Had another great moment with the cashier who is a lovely person. We joked about buying doggie poop bags we don't really need but are super cute (dogs in ghost costumes, lol) and we laughed and laughed. It was just what I needed. On another note, I get the best crickets here for my gecko. They are obviously very well taken care of because they last a long time between feedings. And you'll get your crickets fast. I would love to leave a good review, but unfortunately I've had so many issues at this store. I come here all the time. My cat has kidney disease and they have a plethora of options for her so we love the store itself. Normally they're very kind here when it comes to when I purchase in store. I don't have the PetSmart vet card because they treated my animals so poorly I go to a private practice location now (and found out my cat is sick). Typically the person at the register is kind enough to understand and pushes it through (because I've been buying at this location for over a year now consistently). The manager working the floor today is awful. AWFUL. She told me I'd have to wait 7 days for approval when I get my cats food here ALL the time. I travel a lot so sometimes I don't get time to go to the store or order in time so I had to run in today. But the manager was soooooooooooo rude. My purchase was at 6:20pm on 4/10. The worst, will be going to a different PetSmart moving forward after today. read more

Let's start by saying this has been our go to pet store for 8 years now. We started off with buying a fish tank and fish for a few years when my oldest was about 2 years old. Then we got a 60 pound golden doodle and suddenly our little one was out of the fish stage. I'm at this place twice a month buying dog food and dog treats and I've never been treated bad. Today we walked in with my ten year old to buy a small gold fish for my 2 year old who's been sick for the last 2 weeks. We were hoping this would put a little smile on his face. We set up a 2 gallon glass bowl we had purchased on Amazon. The bowl was filled up with water from our reverse osmoses water system 2 days ago. We stopped by and picked up the rocks, 1 decretive toy and food. The girl walks over asks us how big the tank is, then says is your tank seasoned? I said no we have to buy the additive. She hands the additive to me and says I can't sell you a gold fish, I will only sell you a feeding fish? I asked why? She replied, because of the size of your tank? I asked her to give my son and I a minute and we would let her know what we wanted. My son pointed out both the gold fish tank and the feeder fish tank said fish requires 20 gallons. We asked for help on getting the gold fish. She said I'm not selling you those you can only buy the feeders. I asked for the manager and he reiterated the same BS but in a nicer tone. At this point I'm really upset but trying to keep my calm. I said we have a kid who's not doing so well at home and we are going to buy that gold fish. He said sure I'll sell you one. I mean WTF is up with these people, treat your customers with a little bit of respect. Instead of mouthing off at customers, maybe grab a net and remove all the dead fish from your tanks that are eating each other. read more

I had a very disappointing visit to this Petsmart location yesterday. I went to buy my dog's prescription dog food a week ago, and they were out of the one that I normally buy. The cashier told me it should be in on Tuesday. I went in last night and they still didn't have it. They went and checked in the back to see if any had arrived. (They still didn't have it and couldn't tell me when they would get a shipment.) While I was waiting I tried to see if I could order it on the app and have it delivered. But there is a problem with their website, and you can't place an order on the website. When I asked them about placing an order, they blamed the cell service. I tried again at home and there was a problem with their website. I have been buying my dog's prescription dog food there since they opened up veterinarian services at this store. I spend over $200.00/month there but I have been forced to go back to ordering from Chewy.com. read more

I had 2 of my dogs groomed here although one groomer did a good job, the other did not. I have a dog with very thin long hair that tangles. That being said, I received a call asking if I would like to pay an extra $40 to deal with the tangles, I said no and elected for them to cut short. It is my fault that I always pay in advance of receiving my dogs. I paid an extra $40 for a pampering with the dog. What that entailed I am unsure as dogs nails weren't cut, hair was short (meaning I should not have been charged the extra 40) hair on head was not groomed and he looks ridiculous. I am pretty generous and I pay in advance and tip in advance and it was really dumb on my part. Spoke with the manager George and he said to come back the next day to have the nails fixed and groom his face. I didn't want to be bothered and he said he would give me a $40 credit next time. It is highly unlikely I will return as they should have credited me back the $40. Kicking myself that I tipped the groomer. The unfortunate thing is the groomer Jessica did a good job on my other dog. read more

I come here to buy heat bulbs for my Uromastyx. There was one time I ordered lamp housing to be delivered to my house. It did not even come in its original box! It was just in a shopping bag without a box and with a price tag on it...I was worried that was going to cause problems for returning since I ended up needing a different set up. I had to return it in store but the return process was thankfully easy. There's usually only one cashier so expect a line. Happy to hear when the cashier tells me there's a coupon on my receipt for next time though. Always easy to find parking in their large parking lot right outside. read more

I have brought my cat to the Grooming salon, typically on a monthly basis, for the last year to get her nails trimmed because she doesn't let me do them at home. She's a fiery cat and can be hard to handle, but they've always done a great job with her. Sinai is the best! I took Bruno for a bath and brush with Fernando L. Bruno is adopted from the shelter and is a very anxious dog, and usually gets very nervous to get any grooming done, but Fernando did an awesome job in keeping him calm and getting him all cleaned up. It's our first time in this store to get our poodle dog groomed coz we have an event to attend and our local Petco was fully-booked. We chosen an upgraded services and after few minutes after dropping him, the groomer called to say they will charged me with handling fee. When they call me to pick him up, they said he's ready in 15 minutes. I'm shocked to see him all shaved. He's ear hairs are not trimmed as well, he's nails are still sharped with uneven. Hair cut. All their job is like everyone can do. I paid $94 dollars to get a sloppy job. If only I knew this will happen, I should have done it myself. Never again will come back. Ive been going to this place for years for everything. I live further away, and yet still prefer to go here. But today, i dont know was just different. The staff is always nice, always quick, always grooms my dog so well, but today the service was amazing. Ruben was my dogs groomer and he did such a good job on Dexter he looks like a cute lil teddy bear. Unfortunately, I dont know the girls name who rang me up (shoulder length brown hair, young, super peppy), but she was super nice to Dexter, played with him and all, and still got a line of 3 down in less than 10 minutes (my transaction only being 3 minutes). 10/10 service ALWAYS! read more

I just recently went to get a new dog tag. The selection of tags go choose from isn't super big, but they have enough! I was specifically looking for a bow tie shaped dog tag and was able to find one here. This petsmart doggy day camp employees some are nice, but some are incompetent. I felt that I was being push off and my dog in that place.

Average PetSmart in the area that has what one would expect, but by no means is an immaculate establishment. Unfortunately they don't have any pet boarding at this location, but there is grooming with reasonable prices. They also have the other animals that you would expect such as fish and birds, and they also have all the supplies that one expects from a PetSmart. I wish it was a little bit more toward the nicer area of La Crescenta / Canada, but luckily it is not to far. Add a stop to the dollar tree, DIY, McDonalds, or In-N-Out, and you have a nice little Saturday all planned out. read more

My golden had an appointment with groomer Alliza W today and she was amazing!! Very professional, kind, and gentle on my golden retriever. The store and salon were very clean and was respectfully enforcing COVID-19 social distancing procedures. I voluntarily waited outside the salon for maybe 2-3 hours waiting for my dog and I could see her taking her time to gently lift his paws and brush out his tail. I decided to try the Burt's Bee's oatmeal upgrade and my baby boy's fur was so SOFT and SHINY! I liked that it didn't have any chemical smells and I appreciate that Alliza asked me beforehand if I wanted a cologne spritz since I don't like when groomers spray without asking since perfume makes me sneeze.
