I was not particularly pleased when my grooming appointment was canceled. They said they had a policy about grooming dogs that just got their shots. This is not a problem. What is a problem, however, is the fact that they didn't tell me this when I scheduled the appointment. Since they told me that my dog's rabies shots needed to be updated and I told them, "that's been handled", I would have liked to have been told then (especially because getting my dog out of the house and into a car is like moving heaven and earth). I am rarely disappointed in this location, however, so I'll be back. They get two stars rather than one because my wife says I should have volunteered the fact that my dog just got shots when I made the appointment. And my wife is always right. (Sometimes). read more

My Kamilla came home with a mohawk. :( Yes, it's true. I dropped off my Mamacita Bonita on Sunday and she was clipped and trimmed in all the wrong places. I chose the face, feet, and tail package. However, I specifically said do not trim the tail or the hair around the mouth. All she needs is her eyebrows trimmed, her feet rounded, and a sanitary trim. Feet rounded - check. Sanitary trim - check. Eyebrows - Wwwwoooahhh, hold up. Why is the hair between her eyebrows two drastically different lengths? Why is all the hair around her mouth short short short? Why did you even touch her tail and WHY does she have a big chunk of hair missing from the back of her head which then drops off to her long neck hair thus giving her a MOHAWK!!?? :( Need some more yelp recommendations for spa day - she told me she's never going back. We've boarded our 2 dogs here (1 big, 1 small) many times for weekend trips, and the dogs LOVE staying at the Pets Hotel. The staff gives the dogs lots of attention, so nobody ever feels neglected, and our dogs love the group playtime. The staff does offer lots of addons, like extra playtime and treats, which can get expensive, but our dogs do just fine with the standard socialization time, and they'll give your critters regular old Milk Bones each day if you ask nicely. Overall, we've had nothing but good experiences boarding our dogs here, and we'll definitely keep bringing them back! read more

Meh. I took my long haired dachshund here for a trim, nails, and gland expression. I got some sort of package deal, I think it was around $50. He was clean and mostly evenly trimmed- a few spots were uneven. But later that evening, he fired off some gland juice. I would think for that price, and for taking three hours on a Tuesday early afternoon, they would have been more thorough. Probably will not be coming back for grooming. read more

I am a Benfield Wellness Plan member & have utilized the Doggy Day Camp where I live..I was in Tucson for 2 days. 10/28 7am: Scheduled WITH SAM to have my dog in Doggy Day Camp from 7am-5:30pm for BOTH 10/28 & 10/29. Saturday, 10/28 They open late but everything goes fine. Sunday, 10/29 I arrive at 6:50am & walk my dog around the front of the store where we saw 4 employees arrive for their shifts. Although one spent time petting my dog, she did not interact with me at all. 35 minutes goes by. It's now 7:25am (I have a class at 8) 4 employees have seen me, the guy cleaning the floor has seen me, a little Mexican girl in a burgundy hoodie has seen me. I ring the doorbell which states "PLEASE RING THIS BELL IF YOU HAVE SCHEDULED SERVICES PRIOR TO OPENING HOURS" No one comes. 7:35am I continue to ring this bell. The little Mexican girl shakes her head at me through the glass doors, giving me a nasty face. WHY DID SHE NOT COME SPEAK TO ME? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? WHAT'S THE PROBLEM? NO DECENT COMPANY teaches their employees to act in such a way. I am INFURIATED & I am cancelling my Banfield Wellness Plan & never going to another PetSmart again. Didn't get to talk to the manager,however, I have been watching sweet Angel cat in the take me home cage for 3 weeks now, so I hoped to spend some cash and Pre-Pay for someone to adopt this beautiful but kind of over weight cat. I brought my dog into the Broadway store for Doggie Day Camp on a Saturday. I left her for three hours with similarly sized dogs. No horrors. The personnel seemed kind and attentive. When another, somewhat larger dog approached my littler dog in an aggressive manner, the attendant immediately put a lead on the aggressor. My dog was not to be in the kennel without my knowing when she would be, and was to be fed at the time designated by me. The room was very clean. I was satisfied with all of that and maybe it was an OK experience. I like PetSmart. But, I would like to see more human interaction--throwing, bouncing, running. I was looking forward to that for my dog. Instead, 16 dogs were just standing around when I arrived. The attendant was mopping the floor. Not much excitement for the dogs. I was glad I got my dog early and not waited the 6 hours that I paid for. Kind of sad that my dog was just sitting next to the door waiting for me. They called on Friday saying he had Diarrhea, due to being stressed maybe(well of course he's stressed he had poop matted to his entire backside when we picked him up on Sunday) YES they returned him to me full of dried up POOP ! I was FURIOUS)! As we were leaving out the door we ran into a manager Edward who took Thor to the groomers to have his behind cleaned off. I paid almost $300 for him to stay there for 8 days and they treated my dog like the poop that was left on him I'm sure since Friday. If he received the proper care I paid for $39.00 a night, I'm sure they noticed the poop and just didn't care. I'm telling this to everyone I know. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO THAT PET HOTEL! This is the last time I step foot in a PetsMart! Today our Governor enacted a state if emergancy for Tucson and set an 8p.m. curfew for everyone. I needed to run inside and purchase a single can of Hills Science Diet Z/D canine to pull my Husky over until tomorrow morning. I had a valid prescription in my hand along with my expired prescription card and your associate would not sell me 1 single can because Banfield was closed. Are you serious? The fact of the matter is......A little goodness goes a long way! However your associate today proved to be nothing but argumentative, unhelpful, rude and ungracious! There is no other food comprable to Z/D and you guys know it. Today is the last time PetsMart gets to treat me like crap! Or should I say, this is the last time PetsMart starves my dog overnight because someone wants to be difficult in a very difficult situation. I spend over $500 a month on pet food alone and I will gladly return to my veterinarian and pay them at an increased cost and know I'm not going to ever be disrespected, turned away or just simply annoyed by a control hungry cashier. It's always been more trouble than its worth anyway. For the simple fact Banfield expires out food scripts at the 6 month mark no matter what! I recently adopted a puppy and took him in to get groomed. The staff was great! Very friendly and professional. The prices are reasonable and the staff explains every part of the grooming process. I have been to this location many times for both of my dogs and they usually do a good job this last time they were very sloppy. Her ears wern't trimmed evenly. I don't even know how to explain how they cut her tail. She is a snorkie with a long tail. They made it sort of hour glass shape. To fix it they would have to trim it all of the way down which would look worse. They also charged more at the end than was originally quoted. That seems to be a common Petsmart complaint. read more

I dont normally write reviews but, I had the best experience here, they took wonderful care of my rescued American pitbull terrier. Shes a very timid doggy and the girl that bathed her did an amazing job. I got the furminator plus, flea and tick bath and a nail grinding. I had a bad experience at the Wetmore location so I was a little lethargic bringing her back here but they did the most amazing job. I highly recomend them and I will be back! They never called to confirm and when I called them they were two weeks out. I was told when I signed up I could cancel at any time. Since they were taking so long to get me in I decided to cancel. They told me I could NOT have my $100 deposit back. Don't get caught up in this. They will try to sell you a higher pet plan and it will cost you much more than just going to the vet. So I was in the Petsmart today and my daughter and I wanted to look at the bearded dragons and chameleons, it's clearly states on the sign on each cage do you want to hold me ask and associate how? So we asked to see and hold one of the chameleons and we were told now that unless we plan on buying it for sure we couldn't hold it??!! We used the daycare here for our dog when we were in town for an event. It is hard to find doggie daycare in Tucson but this place had an easy checkin/evaluation process and flexible hours for pickup and drop-off that met our needs. Also the rates were reasonable, especially considering they are practically the only option in town. Would use the daycare service here again if I'm in Tucson with my dog and need a place for her to go and play while I'm otherwise occupied. read more

Our pup just spent the weeking at the Petshotel and Doggie Daycare while we went and got married.. She loves it here.. She always comes home exhausted for days... We picked her up at noon on Monday, and when I got home, I noticed we were charged for a full day of doggie daycare.. Also when we arrived, they told us she was in "time out" because she was being a little snippy with some other dogs.. ok fine.. she is a JRT... but I guess I would expect to not be charged for a full day.. I didnt say anything or call, but its the little things like that which annoy me.They staff is really friendly.. and she always comes back clean.. We will certainly take her back. She also goes to Banfield in the same Petsmart, so they check her vaccinations and I dont have to bring any extra paperwork in.. That makes it convenient. Xena, our shepherd//chow pup loves coming here for day camp or boarding. She usually stays here when the hubby and I go on trips to Cali or Phoenix. Our pup stayed this past Labor day weekend and came home happy and pooped from having fun! The staff love having her and enjoy having her over. Prices are reasonable and you can add other things to please your baby: playtime, grooming services, yogurt ice-cream. We weren't too pleased with the puppy class we did as we felt the instructor was too negative and sarcastic so we dropped the class. Sometimes it can be a hassle though with some services as they are popular. read more

I take my dogs to this location for their grooming and they've always done an amazing job with them. The few concerns about the store is it's really not laid out very well for the amount of foot traffic they receive and there never seems to be enough help at the cash registers. We regularly go to the Petsmart on Broadway. The staff are very friendly, our dog is used to going there has "made friends" with several employees. So far we have used their grooming service once, and I plan to take him back about every 3 months for grooming. The dog trainers also are flexible and knowledgeable with personalized training. I also appreciate that they do not sell dogs. By selling only animal products, they are not supporting commercial breeders. read more

We have used Petsmart all across the country as we are Rv travelers. We went to pick up our Scotty after day camp and an overnight and he was clearly injured. Walking on 3 legs and he was fine when we left him. As you well know if you leave your dog you much show any injuries, sign papers and they clearly inspect your dog to see if he has any injuries as such. The girl tried to tell me it was arthritis from laying on concrete, really? Are they vets? I ask why they didn't call a vet or me and she said we could tell it wasn't an injury. Really? Walking on 3 legs tells me within a second he's injured, and she said he had been doing it since that next morning. Not only that but his nose had the skin off of it in a small place. It appears to me he had been bitten by another dog or else they hit him with something and they were trying to cya. Also, they left him in day camp with bigger dogs when he could clearly not hold his own. Why not confine him so he doesn't get more injured?? Because they wanted their extra 15 bucks. I would never recommend this Petsmart, and I would never take my dog back there. 62 dollars for one night and daycamp and an injured dog. read more

Upon check out the item rung up at a significantly higher price than the identical item from their online site, after notifying the cashier she indicated the store would price match my item "no problem", the manager arrived at the register quickly and made the pricing adjustment. I really, really hate downgrading a place, but sometimes, I have to. One obnoxious employee is the cause. First, let me give a little history. My beloved German shepherd puppy, Marley, is 4 months old and we have always shopped at this Petsmart. The employees have always been sweet and helpful. I train my girl daily, always with a harness. I was ill, so our training was suspended for a week. Marley's vet appointment was due and she had outgrown her harness! We had no choice but to attach her leash to the collar. Marley hated that with a passion! Okay, we enter the store and my girl is not cooperating. Immediately a cashier came over and started pushing their dog training. Not in a nice way, either. He was extremely rude and condescending. I explained in full detail why Marley was acting up. I also told him that we planned to buy a new harness immediately after her check up. Vet appointment went great as always. After her appointment, we picked out a new harness,( large!), a new collar and several new chew toys. Unfortunately the only open register was being manned by the jerk. He started in all over again about their training classes, after I had fully explained that we weren't interested 30 minutes before! I literally bit my tongue, picked up my 35 lb puppy and walked out. My husband was left to pay and he told the guy,"You already gave us your spiel and we aren't interested. You're lucky that my wife just walked out without going off on you."( My daughters gave me this info) Lucky indeed, my dogs are like my daughters. I've trained 2 previous shepherds so I think I know what I'm doing. If a learning 4 month old puppy isn't welcome at Petsmart, just tell me. Don't try and shove your classes down my throat. I just went by to drop off my two dogs at the pet hotel, when I arrived I had my hands very full with 2 large dogs, a purse and bags of food. I waited at the counter for 5 minutes while one employee chatted up a potential date. When I finally was helped I was told that my shot records weren't acceptable as they were written in the record books you buy at petsmart and not from the vet. I'm so glad I bought your product that is used for this purpose and you won't accept it. Perhaps mention that when reservations are made. So my vacation is now cancelled since I was supposed to drop the dogs off and head out of town. I am less than pleased with this nonsense. read more

I have taken my little dog to the grooming shop there several times, but I have never been satisfied with the result. They give a bad haircut, and do not do a good job on the feet and glands. I only went there in the beginning because it is close to home. They kept my dog who is not used to being kennelized for up to 5 hours, and when I checked on her, they had not even started her grooming. They were not busy, and several groomers were standing around talking to each other. My little girl is petrified to go there, she is elderly now, probably because of the caging for such a long period of time. I am done. No more. read more
