I went to the grooming appointment right at 7 am. The groomer that took him in last time was there. As soon as she saw him she said she couldn't do his grooming because of his ears. She said they were too long and would need to be cut by a veterinarian. I insisted I had been waiting for him to get groomed. He looked the same as last time I bought him. She was rude and so unprofessional. I'm really disappointed that she just didn't wanna do it. So, at best, hit and miss on this place. Had one gentleman that was very friendly and nice... once. Damien I believe. Then there are times the employees are just cold and rude. My dog today is going on 8 years... never had an issue with a groomer.. he is a quiet little guy... but I was charged an extra handling fee because he was mean? Then they didn't even grind 1/2 his nails (or trim them) because of this. We were told we could bring it when we come for the appointment. We showed up a few days later and they said that it already needed to be on file and that I could not go home and get it and still have an appointment today. they denied my dogs service because I think the real reason is they overbooked their appointments and were looking to cancel somehow. I would give 5 stars except.... If you don't care about the sort of thing that I am about to write then stop in. They had everything I needed for my pet. It is sad to say in 2022 that some of the front people don't necessarily see people who don't look like them as worthy of certain pleasantries. Similar to my post at a particular hardware store; I rarely make a fuss or a big deal about greetings. But when things are blatant and in your face - you have to see it for what it is. I could have let that go, except when I was clearly next in line, someone came from outside of the store with a question and the guy at the register basically acted like he didn't see me and was going to tend to her. Of course she didn't look like me. The customer acknowledged me. It was at that point I decided to go to the gentleman at the other register and let him help her. Once the young man finished with the customer, I was fully cool with staying where I was at, but he called me over because the gentleman was still wrapping up a purchase. I went and finished my purchase as to keep things moving. Normally I would take my dollars elsewhere but the comfort of my pet came first today as I needed some supplies quickly. Next time I know. Purchased 2 bags of refrigerated Nom Nom Dog food Turkey and chicken! It is far from inexpensive $40.21 for 2 ~3 lb bags. Well as I put it in her china dog dish .... There were LIVE WORMS IN IT! DONOT PURCHASE NOM NOM DOG FOOD‼ I spoke with Petsmart customer service they took it all in there stride as if I wasn't the first customer to complain about it. Something is terribly wrong. Having recently gotten my first EVER pet, this is a place I'd never fathomed needing. But now that I've got the cutest pup on the planet, a girl needs some stuff. So far I've bought: collar, harness, leash, name tag, food, treats, bed, dress, sweater, and a couple toys. I have to say that they are extremely friendly and helpful. We booked two rooms for our cats a month in advance of Christmas. 9 days before the reservation they told us we only booked one room. That is a lie. We've used the place before and there's only two cats allowed per room. I don't know what happened to the reservation but somebody changed it. I'd be careful using this pet hotel. If I could leave zero stars as a review, this one would definitely have earned it. I have used the PetsHotel for my dog on a few occasions now, all with less-than-stellar experiences. The first was in late 2022 and after a few days of boarding my dog there he was returned to me with a full rash on his testicles. A bloody and extremely raw rash at that. Against my better judgement I chalked it up to a one-time occurrence and had my dog boarded there again in October or 2023. Within 12 hours of my dropping him off, I received a call from them claiming my dog was urinating blood and had to be seen by an emergency vet. The vet claimed that the dog had a UTI causing bloody urine and needed to be put on antibiotics. I was away for a week and couldn't see or take his state, ultimately I had to trust them and gave them my go-ahead to be seen and given the necessary medication. By the time I picked him up (four days later) there was no sign of anything ever having happened at all, except for the hundreds of dollars they tacked on to my bill and demanded I pay before they release my dog. Seemed fishy but again, possible. This weekend my dog was boarded there beginning Friday. On Saturday morning I received a call that there was blood in his urine and he had to be seen by a vet immediately. They informed me that the vet prescribed antibiotics and took lab tests, however results wouldn't be available until Monday. When the results came back, there was zero found wrong. No bacterial infection, no increase in white blood cells, nothing. There was no UTI, there is no issue with his urine, and it's again as if nothing ever occurred. That was, however, until I was forced to pay an additional $150 vet surcharge because of the visit. The visit that was unnecessary and provided zero value outside of confirmation that my dog is healthy. To top it all off I was instructed to continue giving him antibiotics which they then provided to me in a Zip Lock Bag!!! No pill bottle, no written prescription, no vet name or anything at all. Literally a felony if I were to be pulled over with them. "they're my dog's drugs officer!" Ultimately I suspect this is a complete and utter scam where they take full advantage of pet parents who are away for extended periods of time. They can add whatever surcharge or additional fees they want and ultimately if we don't pay them we don't receive our pet back. I paid the $150 and am calling it a lesson learned on my end, but would feel completely responsible if I didn't share this experience with any pet owners who care enough to look for a review. I have been resuing dogs for many years. Because we are a small organization, we don't always have a lot of dogs available for adoption, but sometimes our 501 3c non-profit organization will set up at Petsmart. RoRescue has been a Petsmart Partner since it's origination in 2016. However, Petsmart is becoming less and less supportive of rescues. Today (12/26/23 1:00pm), I did two adoptions and met them at Petsmart: 7727 E Broadway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85710 Phone: (520) 290-0776 I meet the clients at Petsmart because I like to promote the Petsmart products and give an adoption booklet to the adopters. The staff was less than accommodating, saying I needed to re-establish partnership with Petsmart. So I did so, only to be told on the website that RoRescue is already a partner. The staff said they have no record of RoRescue and refused any further assistance. I told my clients to shop at their local feed store because I no longer can endorse Petsmart. Took my border collie mix to get groomed and wow does my boy look amazing! He got a bath and full haircut with the furminator package. The last time my pup got groomed we went to a local groomers and he looked exactly the same as when I took him in. Fur was different lengths and still shedding. When I walked into PetSmart grooming I explained my concerns with his fur since he is short haired and can't be shaved. They made their suggestions and I am so happy with the results. read more

My experience with this location started 13 years ago. My husband was stationed at DM AF base and we live close to this location which I used in past places we had been stationed. I started using a groomer for my new Shih Stz puppy and I have never experienced the upkeep of this breed vs just using a groomer for bath and nails into having a groomer shave all over and the up keep it was recommended. Not only did I meet an employee in the groomer department I learned so much on cuts and I trusted Damian on any suggestions the he said . At 8 months old my dog was attacked by a neighbor dog, which created a fear with her and affected her which made my fear bringing in an environment I was leaving her in while being groomed while not in my care epic. I trust Petsmart but I trust the employee more then just a name because the employees of this site have still been employees . I knew if Damian which is the groomer she used when I could book him or using someone that I knew would be ok because if Damian was working in a department that he would never be worried even if my dog was groomed by someone else I would be happy with everything about maycee's treatment . Damian moved locations down the road and became manager and the teacher of teaching other groomers. I also changed my vet from the military vet to Banfield inside Petsmart and with another shih tzu addition we took advantage of picky and intermediate classes to help us with making life better with a puppy . Needless to say my maycee pasted away without any warning but before she did the Thursday before we were taking a weekend her for our weekend I had scheduled a grooming with Damian like always and I would of went with any groomer at this location but it made the experience so happy and I couldn't of asked for her to be groomed before she passed by anyone . I always love how she looks after. My experiences with all of the employees and every department will make me a lifer of Petsmart. I In closing after maycee passed I felt I had to call and let Damian who had just groomed her not even a week before, of her passing so in my severe grief, I didnt want him to think it had anything to do with Petsmart or the groomers . I reached out to Damian because of how I felt the 12 1/2 years of working with her and how she was not a dog that liked everyone like she did him. She would be excited to jump in his arm and cuddle into his neck like she only does only with me. I have taken dozen at least of Damian over the years that as I write this are stored in photo albums but i are posted pictures of her from what she looked like before 4 months and when we had orders to move to tucson and why the decision of grooming and removing her hair because we aren't used to desert living and where we came from she wouldn't of been shaved. we were shopping for our dog christmas present and we decided to go to the adoption area to see the adoption pets.. we saw two cats that we just fell in love with and we decided to adopted one "Butterscotch" we did the paperwork online and the next day we were able to take butterscotch home... Kayla helped us and I just wished that every single store in the city will have someone like kayla. kayla went the extra mile by helping us getting the right food, toys and litter for our new cat. if you ever go to petsmart on Broadway have Kayla help you cause omg she was very sweet acted very professional and went the extra mile in getting our cat adoption the best experience we have ever had. We recently had the displeasure of shopping @ this Petsmart location on 9/19/2020. Sales associate HAELIE gets the award for the best WORST customer service provided by a Petsmart team member! Our family shops here regularly either in store or curbside thru the App and we've never had an unpleasant experience such as this recent shopping trip. Haelie had a bad attitude and was not making any customer feel appreciated or valued. If we didn't need what we were buying right then & there, we definitely would have left, after speaking with management about her, to go to another store. Hopefully like most people. My Wife and I went to PetSmart to get Christmas gIfts for our 2 year old Great Dane. We chose to go to PetSmart strictly due to a email that we received with a buy 2 get 1 free dog toys as well as a 15% discount. We chose 2 Kong black Balls and 1 black Kong Bone. We stick with the Kong brand due to there strength and longevity with our Great Dane. We had also seen 2 Kong toys that dispense little treats as the dog plays with it, also made by Kong. We gave one of the Kong play treat toys to our Dane when we got home. With in less than 5 minutes she had chewed the rubber of on end and was eating in. So we removed the toy and returned back to PetSmart to explain the lack of durability in the toy and requested a refund. That's where as a company that provides service and products to many families pets fell flat on their face. They stated we just sell products. We don't stand behind any companies or products that we sell. I explained that we usually shop at Petco and they stand behind the products that they sell. That's when the manager stated "Sir, we are not Petco." After that afternoon I will choose to shop only at Petco and a company that stands by the safety and health of my Great Dane. We went today to buy another clown loach for our 29 gal tank. The stupid B*tch of a "manager" refused to sell us one! Saying that our tank is too small! Wtf! We have one in there now & he's doin just fine. We said, fine, we'll put him in our 55 gal tank instead. Dez then says, "I don't believe you" are u kidding me!?!?!! This is NOT the first time she has refused to sell us a fish! You are working for that company who needs to make money to stay alive, especially during this day & age & here Dez is refusing to sell animals!! PetSmart, you have just lost a customer for life!!! This is a busy, but great, Petsmart. They have a lot of pet services available in one location: doggie daycamp, cat & dog boarding, a fully staffed pet training center, grooming salon and a Banfield Animal Hospital. I can't comment on the grooming salon, hospital or boarding areas although I will say they are all usually very busy on the weekends (when I come in the store with my dog) so they must be doing something right. So far, I've had two rounds of training classes for my dog - the beginner/puppy series and an intermediate series. The trainers - Jessie, James and Chris are all wonderful. Very patient with each animal's individual tweaks and personalities and they are all multi-dog owners as well. You can book either a class series (with other dogs & owners) or individual sessions with specific trainers. The classes are great for socializing your dog and desensitizing them to new people, sounds and activities. I'd recommend classes and/or private lessons to any dog owner. There's no reason your pet shouldn't be a happy, healthy and productive member of Doggie Society. If you're just visiting the store, they have a massive selection of everything you could possibly want for your furred, feathered, scaled or (insert other type of animal here) pet. Food, toys, books, clothes, beds, toys, medicine, toys, toys, toys! Saturday and Sunday are by FAR the busiest days of the week at this location. I kid you not, I've seen hundreds of people and dogs in one weekend come through the doors (even a pot-bellied pig once). If you want it quieter, go during the week. If you want to pet puppies and expose your dog to the best butt-sniffing around, go during the weekend. read more

One technician (Harrison) in particular was persistently rude and ultimately I removed all of my dogs from your program and went to a private veterinary mainly because of the terrible service at this location. Today I called for copies of records and this Rude gentlemen (Harrison) rudely took my request for records and hung up on me. He is neither professional nor mature and banfield should consider retraining his customer service behaviors. So normally don't do this and feel super bad but a lot of money was wasted on this experience and I don't want anyone to go through it as well. i took my dog to PetSmart on Broadway and Camino seco for a grooming treatment, bath , nails, teeth the whole shabang. it was like 60$ and she came back with fleas on her ears and they were denying it came from them. 1st my dogs have never had any types of problems like this before we spray our yard once a month!2nd my other two dogs don't have anything wrong with them and 3rd she didn't have them before she left!!!!! the person who was grooming her didn't say or notice anything. so I had to spend about 100$ for flea treatments on the house and dog to clean up their mess!!! We've had good experiences here. We've used the groomer, purchased a variety of toys and food, boarded one of our dogs, and are currently using their training services. The groomer can be hit or miss. Sometimes she looks great, sometimes it's a bit of a hack job. But they can get her in the day I call (always on weekends) and she doesn't seem to be traumatized, so it works. Our new dog was in need of training and after meeting with five training companies, decided that Petsmart was the best option - inexpensive and I was impressed because we are registered for group classes but we can do private lessons until the issues are solved - no additional charge. James the trainer came highly recommended and I can see why. We have been pleased with the results so far - we've completed four weeks of a six week course and can now take her for walks, she's barking less at other dogs, and she sits and "leaves it" with no problems. read more

I picked my pups up at the Pet Hotel after leaving them for 4 1/2 days in order to travel north and bury my mother. The dogs smelled like sewage. It has taken 3 days to get the rank smell off them. Clean, well-laid out store. All of the employees I pass by were friendly and offered some sort of acknowledgment or greeting. I appreciate this as is tells me that if I have a question they might actually help instead of walk the other way. I'm sure we have all experienced that type of treatment sometime or somewhere. I had the chance to peek in on the Manager who was in an office doing some desk work. She appeared to be in on her time off as she wasn't in uniform. I was probably interrupting whatever she was doing as it was a bit obvious she wasn't in on official work duties. Still, she took the time to talk to me and offer advice and help. Customer service goes a long way with me; it can make or break deals. I may frequent an establishment who may fall short in other areas if the staff treats customers kindly. Many times customer service is the saving grace for a second chance. Clean, well-organized, well-stocked, full-service (vet, growing, training, boarding, supplies, etc) pet store. Big chain, of course, but friendly and helpful staff at this location is great. It is often-times unexpected from the bigger chain stores. read more

Originally, I loved this location. However, having a very timid dog, I am maybe a bit over protective of her. I explained to the girl that she will struggle and wiggle and she may need a second set of hands. You could tell I was that annoying customer to this groomer. She took my pooch to the back and I hear her yelling at my dog to hold still and my dog yelp followed by more yelling. Another girl then brought her out and said they couldn't finish because they didn't have the time/staff for two people to clip her nails. Being that I had brought Maggie to this location several times and never had an issue, i was beyond shocked. Everyone was usually so accommodating. But this visit... you shouldn't yell at people, let alone animals, like that. read more

It has the: (1) usual pet food and supplies, but also: (2) a pet hospital (no surgeries that require an overnight stay); (3) pet boarding (yes, overnights, plus day camp and day care) and; (4) pet grooming. I don't believe I've seen any pet store in Tucson with quite this broad array of services, my primary reason for giving it four stars. Other than that, it's just a PetSmart. read more

I would have given a higher review as I come here several times a month and prefer it to Petsco as they have more selection on aquarium products and fish, as well as lower prices, but I just had quite a rude employee interaction so I'd have to say that warrants a few less stars. There is one employee I really like in the fish section, a young man who helped me with otos and seems to know a decent amount about fish keeping. He says he knows more about saltwater tanks but he was very helpful to me and I have freshwater tanks. He is just great. Today however, I was helped by 2 young ladies and while one packed up my fish the other started a conversation about bettas, of which I have many and read everything I can about. Let me put my experience about bettas into perspective: I spoil my bettas, I filter and cycle my tanks, they are heavily planted, they have Mopani driftwood pieces in each tank that I have taken the time to file and sand down so that they don't rip their fins. I tie anubias of different sizes, mosses, and other plants to these. I use Amazonia to grow other plants. I make my own "Betta Spa" with Indian Almond Leaves to lower the ph and give them a little treat. I make my own betta hammocks with craft mesh and I grow java moss on them (they LOVE those). I read DIY websites on betta tank crafts. I make my own filter baffles because bettas don't like too strong of a current. Each betta has its own cycled filtered planted heated tank much larger than stores say they need (my tanks range from 5.5 gallons to 10 gallons and I have 4 of them at the moment). The temperature is at the right range for my bettas, and I have ammonia monitors on each tank as well as the more reliable Freshwater Master Test Kit. I have an arsenal of fish medications on hand just in case, but also know that one should beware to overmedicate. I know which ones harm bettas (anything that ends in -"fix" - Mealifx, Pimafix, Bettafix). I go online to ask experienced betta keepers advice often. At the same time I know that not everyone is going to do what I do for my pets, it's not practical. But making sure the ammonia levels in your water don't burn your fish's gills and fins and hurt them, and not having freezing water for a fish that comes from Thailand would be a good start, as well as knowing that bettas don't enjoy only eating roots of some plant. So when this young lady (who is probably high school or maybe college aged) starting talking about how bettas can be in tiny containers and they are "just fine", I do what I usually do- try to nicely educate a little bit that there are misconceptions due to the world of marketing out there. I said to her that it was just marketing because people prefer to be told they can get a cheap no-maintenance pet for their kid than to be told anything different. She got very pissy with me right off the bat, I tried to be gentle, but her face turned beet red when after she mentioned her friend has a betta in one of those vases with just roots of a plant to eat, I said to her "If you google those .. well . .. they are not good for bettas". I tried to tell her that lily roots are not betta food. She said in a crappy tone of voice "Well it's been eating it for 3 years!". I said "what I meant is that it's not what bettas eat in the wild, it's not the kind of food that's good for them" .. and she, turning more and more red with a pissier look on her face said to me "Well it's been FINE for 3 years" and walked away from me. Listen, I cannot be the biggest pain in the butt customer a person in pet retail has to deal with. And I find it troubling that this young girl cannot deal with pet owners educating Petsmart employees in a civil manner about their favorite pet. I have been to Petsmart before when the fish section is bustling and I enjoyed hearing one customer or another interject into someone's conversation about this fish or that one, because one customer has a particular affinity for "X" type of fish. I enjoy it. We should all educate each other. Basically, I felt that I could barely get out the words" just google it and you will see, or go to bettatalk.com or bettafish.com . . ." before that young employee got very rude with me, a customer who has spent hundreds of dollars on aquarium after another, plants, aquarium silicone to make aquarium-proof projects, several tank heaters, fish, backgrounds for tanks, food for different types of fish, lighting hoods, bulbs, tanks. . . . everything. This Petsmart is always stocked with everything I need (I have two dogs and a hamster) and is always neat and tidy. Today, I went into this store with my husband to grab dog treats and hamster treats. The guys who helped us, Michael and Kyle, were very, very nice. Sometimes their prices are a little steep, but if you become a member, the prices even out and are very competitive. I love coming in here because people always bring their pets and that's always fun. I like that when you check out, there's an option to donate to a pet shelter. I do every single time. This place also offers a pet hotel, grooming, and training. :) I just wish they would carry more earth friendly products such as biodegradable poop bags. The ones that they do carry are so expensive. TJ MAXX usually have biodegradable bags, just an FYI. read more

This isn't our normal PetSmart but this is only one of two in town (I believe) that has the PetsHotel and Doggie DayCamp. The last of which this review is based on. We were having some work done on our back yard and needed to find something to do with our dogs for the day. This was the perfect, affordable solution. Your pet can arrive as early as 7:00 a.m. and stay as late as 8:45 p.m.- for one flat rate. They will feed them, if you choose, and even give them a special treat during the day, for another small fee. At the end of the day they give you a Pawgress Report to let you know how your dog did with other dogs and staff as well as how they ate and even potty habits. (YES - I finally get to use "potty" in a Yelp review!). The staff seems well trained and professional and the pet area is secure. Our dogs came home happy and, I swear, smelling better than when we dropped them off. read more

I go here for the vet services for my 2 dogs and their grooming services. The groomers are awesome and do a great job of not only doing what you are paying for but also making both of my dogs feel great about being there. I have a boxer/shepherd mix who doesn't like strangers, who loves to go here and the staff works with him perfectly. My Hound loves this place and as soon as we get close to the groomers door, she goes crazy and loves to see the staff. That means a lot to me. The work they do is awesome too. It's not going to break your bank and they take care of your dog. The vet services here are really good too. The only complaint I have is that, like any doctor office, you never get seen on time for your appointment. The Doctors and the staff trulls love the animals and you can tell they do care. They even offer a pet insurance to help reduce the costs of the visits. read more

So disgusted with PetSmart. As much money as I've spent in the last 10+ years on my pets and they couldn't fulfill their promise of a 'free' Santa pic. Their excuse? I love going into petsmart over Petco any day. The groomers are very reasonably priced and the doggy day care center is a great place to have your dog socialize inside vs in tucson's hot sun. read more
