Dogtopia Tucson (on Tanque Verde) has been a wonderful environment for our little girl - she is now 7 months but has been going since she was 3 months. She gets SO excited when she gets out of the car and heads to the door! It has been a great way to get her socialized and loves playing and interacting with the other pups. It is safe to say that the people there do not know what a scared or nervous dog looks like or does when it's scared or nervous. After a less than 7 minute "meet and greet" I was told to try and bring my puppy (which is only 9 months old) back in 3-4 months. I have a one year old puppy named Yote and needed to find a trustworthy place to take him for daycare and boarding. This is very important to me since my dog is like my best friend and isn't just a dog to me. He is a very important part of my family. After doing some research I chose Dogtopia in Tucson Az on Tanque Verde. I stopped in to say hello to get a feel for the atmosphere. The person behind the desk was very polite kind and understood exactly what I was looking for. We set up a meet and greet. The meet and greet went extremely well. When I brought him in a staff member met him in the lobby. She kneeled down and to my surprise, my dog ran over and started giving her kisses. I knew right then and there this was the place for him. The staff absolutely loves dogs and if my dog could see and feel it, I was in. I started Yote on day care one day a week, then added a second day. During this time I had concerns about him being comfortable and going potty while outside of his environment. I must say, the staff is amazing! They go above and beyond. They sent me a text and called to let me know he was able to go potty and was making new friends in his class called beach. One time when I went to pick him up, I was waiting for him to come out. His coach was in the lobby. When Yote came out, I said his name and expected him to run over to me like he always does, only this time he ran to his coach and gave her kisses. Then he came over to say hi to me. I was so happy to know he loves his coaches very much! Then there was the time I picked him up and was given a very nice report card saying he was the coaches positive for the day! I Absolutely love the feedback on his day. He is now doing overnights while we take short trips. They are very accommodating and made sure I knew to bring my dogs bed and two safe favorite toys. They also go to great lengths to make sure Yote eats and is happy and comfortable. I love it! I have now interfaced with at least five staff members as well as the Manager and assistant manager. Each of them are compassionate and love all the dogs as if they are their own. I couldn't ask for a better, safer place to take my best friend. This experience has brought back memories and feelings of when I was taking my kids to their first daycare. What a great feeling knowing my dog is in great hands! Everyone there is very nice. We left our dog for a half day. Unfortunately, we don't feel this is a great fit for us, the ratio of 50 dogs to 1 attendant was uncomfortable for us. The place is clean and the people were very nice but we chose a different daycare where the ratio was 25 to 1. read more

My pup has been going to Dogtopia for a little over a month, 3 times per week. She was super shy when she first began, since then she has really come out of her shell. They have helped her socialize and feel like part of the pack. She gets plenty of exercise! The communication with staff is amazing, I can text any time of day for requests or questions. The staff has been so friendly, flexible and patient with us during our moving transition with my girl. We really like Dogtopia. Our puppy goes just once a week, since we're retired, but he comes home tired and happy. Sometimes we take him an extra day if we want to go somewhere he can't, or if we've got guests. Dogtopia was also able to help us out with a couple last-minute stays when we had a family emergency across the country, and we were really grateful for that. read more

My dog had an altercation here and was suspended until training was completed. After being here for over 3 months this was the first time I heard of it, apparently it had been going on for weeks but everytime I picked him up or dropped him off I heard nothing but positive things. The lack of communication was not something I was expecting since my friend mentioned the other location she sends her dog to, calls her for every little thing to update her. The trainer I contacted asked if she would be able to bring my dog here to observe him in the setting for about 20 minutes just to know what to address and to see if she could pin point what triggered him that day. Unfortunately, they wouldn't allow it and stated he wasn't allowed to return until training was completed. It's kinda difficult to address something when I get general feedback about how basically any dog can behave from time to time. Doubtful I will be sending my dog here, super disappointed. read more

Our sweet pupps first grooming on a Saturday morning. She's a husky (with some malamute mixed in lol) and we were told she did surprisingly well. We opted for the De-Shed luxury bath and the bath add on: nails, ears, and teeth cleaning. We asked for the bottom of her paws to be trimmed because they were out of control. Her groomer (Reyes, I believe) he was super sweet and explained how he was going to get started with her and when we picked her up, he told us how well she did :) Although we didn't ask for her body to be trimmed we did notice she was trimmed on her top, backside, and few other places but her floofy tail was left alone. All in all, she did need it so we won't complain this time lol no, but really she looks SO much better with what he did and she smells amazing. We touched up a few places on her feet because she doesn't let anyone near her feet except her Momma's on occasion. My wife and I are very happy with how her first grooming came out and are happy to be new Dogtopia pet parents. I'm glad that they offer so many other services that we can use in the future :) read more

I took my dog Lola here for about a year. I never had any issues until the last few months. I had picked Lola up from daycare one day to find her covered in dog poop as it was caked in her hair. No one mentioned or cleaned her off I only realized when we were in the car leaving. A week or so after that I picked her up and they told me Lola got a "scratch" on her back after coming home and further examining it. It was very easy to tell there were not 1 but 2 bite marks on her back. I then called daycare to see if they could tell me what happen as they have video footage of the room 24/7 but was told they saw nothing on the cameras which I find hard to believe as these were not little scratches but GOUGES in her back that bled for more than 24 hours. They clearly do not watch the dogs very well and most of the time sit on their phones. I for obvious reasons will not be returning read more

This was a great place to bring my dog but after one of the managers left, I think her name was Rachel, everything went downhill. My dog was not being taken care of after that. It looked extremely disorganized when I brought my dog in and seemed like a stressful environment and I could hear someone yelling at the dogs in the back which is NOT OK. We started taking our dog here about a month ago. It all starts with the meet and greet which takes less than 30 minutes. We signed up for the one day a week package (their website explains the different prices). Our dog is timid when she first meets new humans and new dogs. They were very patient with her and have really helped her come out of her shell. After only a month of going she greets everyone when she gets there and goes back to the playroom easily. What I really like about Dogtopia is that they have a live cameras for you to watch your dog play. I also like that they have such a wide time frame for drop off and pick up you can come in anytime between 7am and 7pm. They always let you know how your pup did that day. Also if your dog lets them they come and get your dog from your car and when you pick up they'll bring your dog right back out. We got our dogs toenails done here and they did it during her daycare day which was very convenient for us. read more

Staff has been awesome the times we were able to get in but way too many dogs in one room. Our dog came down with kennel cough after his first couple visits. They have you sign up and prepay at the beginning of the week for the number of days you plan use the daycare but then decline your appointment requests due to too many signed up. They expect you to plan your dogs days when it fits their schedule. If you're too full to provide the service don't take people money in advance. read more

This establishment seemed very promising upon first look. Great reviews on yelp and google within the past year. I'm not sure if this is new management or new ownership, but I was really shocked when I came to pick up my dog, Arlo, early. First off, I could hear yelling from employees in the back. A lot of scrambling and disorganization. When an employee finally came to greet me, she was terribly stressed and told me that they were very understaffed. They said that many people were quitting due to poor ownership and maltreatment from employer. It was so awful hearing how the employees are being mistreated, with mistreated employees comes poor pet caring. I bought a package and honestly regret that I did from the first day. I asked where the dogs use the restroom as they have no access to outdoors. They go inside, but workers assured it's cleaned up immediately and this doesn't confuse dogs in training. Um it does and it did. Twice. Then before we could use up passes bald guy said our dog was misbehaving and couldn't come back until neutered. Which we did. Went back. Finally the last day of pass. How did My pup do? Lady who brings him out, "Great. He gets along well with other dogs. Super playful." Great. I depart. Before I arrive to car, I notice my puppy limping. I return. Shoot it's bald guy. "Can you tell me if something happened? My dogs limping. His response well he's a little hyper and no notes are in system. No let me check in back or anything like that. Nope for me. Some workers are great though, not all grumpy. But the tiny rooms with no access is not a place for dogs who love the outdoors. I took my two German Shepherds to a "Meet and Greet" at the Oro Valley location. They took my first dog who is a 5 y/o to meet some other dogs. They were back in 10 min and she did not qualify for daycare. She never met any dogs. She never threw treats in the crate. The employee came back and said she was "under duress" and wouldn't go into the crate. I was given the impression they didn't want us. I was never told that step one was crate and if she didn't pass that test she failed. Had she met other dogs and treats involved she would have gone into the crate..She loves her crate. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! Waste of time! read more

I personally love this location. I have never seen a more dedicated canine staff. Exceptional couches dedicated to dog safety and fun. Every dog I have seen in this facility are treated as if one their very own family. I have personally watched coaches take necessary precautions to keep their dog family safe. If for whatever reason a dog had been dismissed from this location I know it was for the safety for the other pets usually due to behavioral issues. They respect the pet parent's privacy and protect their pets. The pets are required to have vaccinations and pass a Dogtopia evaluation. Never would a canine couch directly allow their fur babies to endure any behavior against their safety policies. I can personally entrust this facility and its staff to keep my fur babies safe to have fun and learn social skills while getting pampered. This facility also has a full spa which I think makes it very convenient all in one stop for my fur babies pampered needs. read more
