My dog Sully loves it here and be is picky. He gets so excited when he knows he's going and as soon as we pull up he goes berserk trying to get in. All of the staff are so nice and our dog just loves them all do they take great care of him. I like how they take them outside to play. And are pretty accommodating with requests. One time when our dog was boarded there was a bad monsoon that knocked power out for a couple days and the road to the boarder was closed. But the staff was parking and walking a couple miles each way to take care of the animals. I think that shows their dedication and love for the animals. Sometimes it's tough to get through on phone but they are super busy with the dogs and at least you know your dog is in good hands. Wish they had cameras though. read more

Well, we just had the same issue as Deb R. We took 2 dogs in for an overnight, Saturday night, Sunday morning. Took food for both dogs, clearly marked, separated into 2 meals for each dog. Pretty self explanatory. When we picked them up Sunday afternoon, I noticed there was a meals worth of food in one of the bags. I asked why is there food left over? There was much confusion and conversation about it between 2 of the staff, one of which I assume is the owner or manager. Long story short, one of my dogs didn't get fed as instructed. The excuse was that they are training someone. Seriously? Pretty crappy training. What did they think the second serving of food was for???? Yes, they apologized. Did they offer any discount? No. Can we trust them again with our animals? Nope. So in one weekend they lost a 15 year client and a new customer. Have to say also that they suck with trying to talk to anybody on the phone to make reservations. Too bad. read more

We've only been here once as we are new to the area. We do not allow our pets to go just anywhere. We visited several places and decided to give this place a try. Our pups came home happy and tired. Both of the young girls we encountered we very pleasant and reassuring. A customer coming to pick up raved about it so we felt good. Only wish there was some grass to play on. Will update review after we have used the facility several more times. read more

Our two dogs love staying here! We have been boarding them here for years and always know that our fur babies will be in good hands. I feel secure that they are being well taken care of. I definitely recommend this place and it's wonderful staff! read more

Took my dog here to be boarded for 6 days last month. The facility is clean and the staff was caring. She had a great time, no problems and was not anxious to leave when I went to pick her up. I will be planning on boarding her there again in the future. read more

Ok so I was tempted to give this place 1 Star, but I really liked one of the two receptionists there, so I gave this place an extra star for her. I wish I would have caught her name, but every time we talked with her she was very nice and seemed to genuinely care about animals. The other is a much younger girl who we also talked to several times, but she has a bit of an attitude and doesn't seem to care a whole lot about the pets. Now for my very long review: My cat has stayed here twice; the 1st time was 4 days and the 2nd time was a long 9 days. The cat kennels are sort of a strange setup--they are small vertical enclosures consisting of 4 levels (wood boxes) with cutouts so the cat can go up and down into each room. It seemed like a cool idea at first, but the boxes are so small that after we put in his bedding and their litter box, there really was no room to play. And each box has a clear front panel so if your cat is shy--like mine--he really has no where to hide (unless you bring him something). After I picked him up the first time everything seemed fine except that his fur was absolutely caked with dirt. It was as if he had been rolling around outside. How an animal gets so incredibly dirty at an indoor kennel is lost on me--unless of course they aren't cleaning the place very well (or at all). Whatever the reason, we had to give him a bath as soon as we got home. The receptionist had nothing but nice things to say about our cat; how well behaved he was and that he "was a real pro." He has stayed in other kennels at least 4 or 5 times--anywhere from 2 nights to 3 weeks at a time (before we moved to Tucson) and he's never had a problem. I mean, I wouldn't say that he likes staying in the kennel, but the people always told us he was a good kitty. Anyway, when we picked him up the receptionist told us that she was in the middle of cleaning his room, and to go ahead and go inside the room where they keep the cats and pick him up. To my surprise, my cat was loose in this (larger) room, "exploring" as she put it. It seems that when they need to clean a cats room they just let him or her run around the bigger room where all the cats are kept. This made me a bit uncomfortable because cats tend to get very stressed out in new environments, and also because this was not a room that screamed cleanliness. The room has concrete floors and feels more like a garage than anything. Aside from being ridiculously dirty and needing a bath, my cat seemed fine enough, so I thought it would be easier on him if we brought him back to a familiar place (this one) when we needed to go out of town again. Now, after the second, longer stay at Creature Comforts, we found the same problem... he was disgustingly dirty when we picked him up. He is an indoor cat at home and this was only 10 days after we had given him a bath after his last stay at this kennel! But what was really weird was that he had been moved into this "spare room" away from the room where all the other cats where. The explanation of why they had moved him was not a good one. The receptionist who we talked to that day (the better one) told us that our cat had been really unhappy in kennel and was throwing a fit (whatever that means?!) and so they moved him to his own room. Well the "room" that they had moved him into was a dirty, old and cluttered storage room/ bathroom--definitely not a place that was meant to keep a pet. She told us that even though our cat was good with her, he had begun trying to attack people through the glass when they came in to clean his litter box. This is when I started to realize "something seems very wrong here..." because my cat is VERY shy around strangers, all he does is run and hide. So to hear that he was trying to attack people through the glass meant one of two things to me: either this was a total lie and there was some other reason he was moved into the storage/bathroom--like they were over-booked and wanted to pack in as many pets as possible--or they did something so awful to my cat to make him so upset that he actually did start trying to attack people. I will probably never know the truth but either way it just wasn't the right thing to do. The final straw was when I got his food bag back (you have to provide your pet with your own food unless you want to be charged extra) and even though I had measured out exactly how much kibble he was going to need while he was there, the bag was still nearly half full. My cat was noticeably a bit skinnier when we picked him up this second time. It wasn't drastic--I mean, he was only there for 9 days--but clearly, he hadn't been fed his normal amount of food. Don't let the name fool you--this place is no "Resort" for your pet. At least if you have a cat--I wouldn't know what the dog enclosures are like. Maybe other people have had better experiences but I gave this place 2 chances and it only got worse the 2nd time. I would never go back. read more

This is the worst kennel I've ever kept my dogs at. More than once they surprised me two days before their scheduled appointments saying the dogs needed some sort of shots (this after I called several times BEFORE the appointment to check and make sure they both were good to go and didn't need any more shots or anything). The straw that broke the camels back was this last time when they couldn't find our reservation. We made it in person at least a week before and someone dropped the ball. No one offered any sort of way to fix it either. They basically blamed us. read more

Creature Comforts is not your most lavish 5* hotel, but the service makes up for it. I checked out the place before boarding my two dogs there. Granted, it doesn't have cameras, does looks a little old & run down, but do not judge a book by its cover. I am grateful that the staff took great care of my pups. Billy was the one who gave me a tour around the place and answered all my questions, he was the one who checked us in when my pups boarded, and he picked up ALL of my calls when i called to check on my pups. He is friendly, honest and genuinely caring towards dogs. To me, knowing my pups are in good hands really made me feel a whole lot better when I'm on vacation. The place is clean and tidy, and there is an outdoor area for the dogs to play. They do not allow the dogs to mix so i won't worry about fights & injuries. Also, there will always be someone at the compound 24/7 and that is a very important point, in case of emergency (fire, electrical trips, etc). I would definitely board my pups at Creature Comforts again! Thank you to the staff for taking good care of my dogs. They left the place happy and came home clean (free from ticks, fleas etc), and i am pleased. :) read more

Very affordable pet hotel, organized and friendly staff. Thorough tours are given before leaving your animal. I did not catch the name of the lady that helped us, but she was very knowledgable about dogs and gave us a few pointers on puppies. I had three of my dogs stay here at different times and felt very comfortable leaving them. They allowed my lab and smaller dog to stay in one kennel for a discounted fee. The outside play area is simple yet roomy. Take your animals here instead of a pet store hotel! read more

I had my dog boarded here once and never will again. I should have known better when I asked for a tour of the place and the guy in the front (whose shirt was way too stained -- I wondered what do they do in here?) told me that they don't allow tours for "customers' safety"??? I thought it odd -- do they board only dangerous dogs? Fighting dogs? What is unsafe back there? Stupid me, I decided to bite the bullet figuring if you are in this racket you must care about animals, right? 8 days later, I pick up my dog (he is a big boy -- 100 pounds) and I could tell something about him was off. He seemed shell-shocked. There was a belligerent, yet absent and glazed look in his eyes. He bolted out of there. When we came home, I examined him and found bite marks on his neck, withers, and legs. There was fur missing. I had specifically asked that he be kenneled alone (they call it "rooms" there apparently, as I wasn't allow to tour the place, I can't vouch for their "roominess"). I took him to the vet, the vet confirmed that he was bitten (was in a fight), they also weighed him. He lost 3 pounds there -- apparently he either wasn't fed, or didn't eat -- due to shock. He slept for 3 days straight after being "comforted" at Creature Comforts. When I was picking him up, I asked them how he did. I only got, "Your dog did great." No specifics, no little personalized tidbits, nothing -- pay here, here is your stuff, come back again, bye. Like a factory. I used to live in New England and used to take my dogs to a place where you were invited to hang out all you want -- for reassurance. In Boston, I left my dog once in a place that has 24/7 cameras which you can view from your computer. I could see my dog walked, fed, I could see him get scratched, groomed, get ball tossed to him. I could see him sleeping on his dog-bed. I had no guarantee of any of this from Creature Comforts -- I should have known I was sending him to the bowels of hell. If you care for your pet, spend a few dollars more and take your dog elsewhere. After the vet bill, Creature Comforts ended up costing me more than their competition. It could had been worse -- he could had died there or required surgery. read more

We've been bringing our fur babies there for 15 years. I have NEVER had a worse experience than this past weekend with new people. I called over a month ago and "Jim" attempted to take my reservation. Told me "I'm busy now, I'll call you back to take your reservation" and never did. I called and then it took THIRTY MINUTES to take the reservation - again we've been going there with our newest fur babies for TEN OF THE 15 YEARS! Then I received a call from Alex (thank you Alex) to confirm as the reservation was not correct - he fixed it and then I went to drop them off and Jim and a new woman could not find the reservation, could not figure out how to find the reservation and were clearly stumbling - they had no idea what they were doing. After 20-30 minutes, they were checked in. Upon calling and speaking with Alex, he said one of the dogs was sick and I asked if they needed to reach out to the vet for them. He said no. Then when my husband went to pick them up, he found out that these same two (Jim and whomever) that checked them in, put on the board that they eat 2x/day and they gave them food that they had on hand 1x/day and their food 1x/day. If there were questions, why wouldn't they call and ask. I am holding these two responsible for making my dogs so sick. They have never eaten 2x/day EVER. I will never return after 15 years of going there, they have lost my business for ever. I am horrified that these two people were not trained properly and are completely inept at their job - it is not a difficult process people. Go elsewhere and save your time and your pets becoming ill on their lack of knowledge and training. read more

Our dogs have stayed here multiple times. We go out of town several times a year and we always take them here. It is their 2nd home! They get excited when they know they are going here. They have always received good care. They let our two dogs stay together in one room. They also offer a discount when you have more than one dog stay at the same time. What I really love about this place is their understanding that our one dog does not like other dogs. They still welcome her here and they make sure to keep her away from the other dogs. In fact, it is convenient because they now offer dog grooming. Therefore, our one dog can get groomed while she is being boarded here instead of having to have a mobile groomer come to the house. I also don't think they discriminate against certain breeds. We used to board our previous dog at another boarding place. When we adopted our two current dogs, I looked at the rules for this other place and saw that they do not accept pitbulls. Our one dog is part pitbull. She is a very sweet, timid girl (and not the one who does not get along with other dogs!) so I think pitbulls get a bad rap. It isn't fair that some boarders would not accept dogs just based on their breed. The one gentleman who works here is especially good to them and easy to work with. I think his name is Alex. read more
