If you read nothing else, read this text exchange where Renee LIES about having been at our house and having cared for our pets. Imagine being outside of the country and having this exchange. -- ME: We havent received an update and we are worried because it seems they are being left alone more than 4 hours RENEE: Afternoon, I do apologize. I typed this up and forgot to send it. Pups are doing good and kitties come around here and there. [3 pictures attached] ME: When are these pictures from? RENEE: They are from today. I fed the kitties at 11. And took [elderly blind dog] outside. I also brought the packages in. ME: The door lock says nobody has been there since 8am ME: And the security camera RENEE: I do apologize those are from yesterday. ME: My poor babies, I cannot believe this is happening -- This was at 2:15pm Tucson time (late night in Ireland). Renee had left our home at 8am and nobody had been there since, and further she wasn't going to go there right away. We were told 3pm, which didn't happen. We called Arlene again. Renee finally got there around 3:30pm which means our pets were alone for 7.5 hours. We had contracted for so-called 24-hour service which meant someone would be at the house all night with only a six-hour gap per day. We had requested the six hours to be broken up so that the animals would not be alone more than 4 hours at a time. How long would they have been alone if we didn't catch Renee in her lies? Throughout this nightmare, the owner Arlene seemed unconcerned that her pet sitter was lying. She couldn't find a single person in her supposed roster of pet sitters to take over from Renee. She didn't offer to go herself until I angrily suggested that she do so if Renee continued to make excuses not to get back to the house. Arlene kept telling us to try to enjoy our trip as if the problem we were calling her repeatedly about was our inability to try hard enough to do so. She also kept repeatedly telling us in a cheerful tone that this has never happened before like that were relevant to our ongoing distress. She even interrupted my husband to try to chit-chat about how she wanted to visit Ireland! We were so distressed at Renee lying about caring for our pets and Arlene's lack of appropriate response that we contacted our regular sitter who was back from her trip and told Renee to leave that night. Nothing could have prepared us for what we found when we got home. Thank god our animals were OK. But Renee had not been checking the automatic cat box, which had jammed. Having few choices, the cats chose my antique chair, which was ruined. The most bizarre scene was our backyard. Renee had removed one of my shovels from our workshop and taken it upon herself to scrape up all of the topsoil into enormous piles that our blind dog had to navigate. We only asked her to water our plants which should have taken 10 minutes a day. Not to spend hours NOT WATCHING OUR BABIES and instead doing what must have been hours of manual labor tearing up the soil I've been building. Nor did I ask her to hack away at my fairy duster bush that the hummingbirds loved like some kind of maniac. She also rearranged some of my personal belongings. The floors were caked with dried pee from neglecting our dog. Renee is a person without a shred of common sense and no moral compass. Arlene has no idea how to manage people or a business caring for pets. One star is obviously too good! Forgetting all the other insanity, anyone who LIES about taking care of an animal, especially an elderly blind one, should never be allowed to pet sit ever again in their lifetime. As far as we know Renee is still employed by Arlene who was "very sorry for the inconvenience."

We've used Glenda and her team to look after our cats for going on 6 years. Before our first…read moreservice, she came to our house to meet us and our fur babies. As others have mentioned, she takes detailed notes about each pet so she and her team can insure the best care. When we started with Four Footed Fitness, we had 3 senior cats and scheduled two 30 minute visits each day. We've stayed with this schedule, even though we now have younger cats. The team is great! They open shades when they come in the morning and take care of feeding, freshening water, and play time. In the evening, they clean the litter box, take care of feeding, and play with the cats. They also bring in the mail, close the shades, take out trash, and check the fountain outside - adding water, if needed. We get photos and a message from both the morning and evening visits each day. The team also checks in to make sure we arrived home at the scheduled time. It's nice to know that they have our cats covered if we're delayed for any reason! We highly recommend Glenda and her team.

Our puppy Junie was extremely reactive to other dogs and we felt like she would never get better. We enrolled her in the puppy elementary classes at about 5 months old. Kim and Jamaal were extremely accommodating and helpful throughout all of her behaviors, week after week. After she finished the group classes we did 2 private lessons with Kim and Jamaal and I can't say enough great things about the two of them. Junie is such a different dog from the day we started with Sol Dog and we couldn't be more grateful for Kim and Jamaal. I can't recommend Sol Dog Lodge enough!

There is some confusion about the locations of Sol Dog. When I first signed up to board my dogs, I…read morethought I was dealing with the people from Sol Dog on Prince Road. That statement is 1/2 right. Looks like the Sol Dog on Prince now has a new name and that owner used to be part of Sol Dog but is not anymore. My dogs were boarded in May 2026 for 4 days. All did not go well. I have spoken to Justin and Shelley from Sol Dog and BOTH of them have now said "that's not how we normally do things". When I spoke to Shelley today and told her that they had to say, "that's not normally how we do things", for 3 separate issues her reply made me want to do reviews so other people could see that the service I got was exactly how they normally do things. Issue 1- on our tour of the facility (beautiful facility) we were led to believe that we would be allowed to settle our dogs in their kennel. We were not. Shelley said, "that people are not allowed in the kennel area". When I told her that we were taken into the kennel area on our tour, she said "that's not normally how we do things". Issue 2- We gave written on paper instruction on how to feed our dogs. and put the instructions in their system. Not complicated. One dog gets dry and wet food. The other gets wet food only. The dog that got wet food only was fed dry food. Sol Dog sent me a text on day 2 that they were almost out of dry food. When I called and questioned how they were feeding my dogs, I was told they were feeding them correctly. It wasn't until I sent them an email that they admitted to feeding my dog incorrectly. Guess what I was told??? You guessed it "that's not how we normally do things". Issue 3- Communication. I was told that someone from Sol Dog would communicate with me and let me know how the dogs were doing a couple times a day. The evening I dropped them off I did hear from someone. The next day Nothing. The 3rd day I sent a text at 730am and did not hear back till 330pm. GUESS WHAT? "THATS NOT HOW WE NORMALLY DO THINGS". Some issues I brought up with Justin that I didn't bring up with Shelley. My dog blankets and toys were not dirty, had no dog hair and smelled like I just took them out of my dryer. I had a lot of treats left over and if they were given to the dogs like I was told they would be, there should not have been that much left. Sol Dog left such a bad taste that I told them I would never board with them again. Justin and Shelley both agree that since they were told I would never board with them again that there was not much they could do to fix the issue. I was not told they were sorry. I was not offered any refund, not that I would have taken it. They did have to pay the staff to feed my dogs wrong and not give them their toys, blankets or treats. All in all, I feel like the experience that I had with Sol Dog is EXACTLY HOW THEY NORMALLY DO THINGS.

While they were nice people, they were out of their comfort zone with horses and chickens. Tammy is afraid of birds BTW. It all turned out ok and no horse colic ed or died but it wasn't worth the $ having sub standard care. They are obviously dog people. Also when I called due to an over charge error Tammy got mad and yelled at me and hung up on me. Will not recommend.
