I didn't even get past talking to the owner on the phone last night before deciding that this was not going to work. I need someone to be in my home at night & give one of my dogs medication at 3 am. She proceeded to tell me that I couldn't expect someone to do that. If I'm paying for a pet sitter to be in my home, yes I can! Then she proceeded to tell me that 30 minutes later in giving medicine wouldn't matter. I'm sorry, are you my dog's vet? You don't get to make those life & death decisions with my pet! Sandy & Heidi provided EXCELLENT pet care service for our 2 Labs AND their humans during our recent 2-month visit to the Catalina/Oro Valley area. We found them via Yelp and were absolutely delighted with their flexibility, responsiveness, and expert care. We were impressed starting at our initial consultation meeting where they were great with our Labs and quick to pick up on our dogs' favorite things. They accommodated our special preferences and needs including our elderly dog's critical medication routine. Heidi or Sandy came for care visits about twice a week for the 2 months we were in town which allowed us to be gone for longer outings exploring the area. Even with short notice, one of the ladies was available for each of our requested dates/times: mornings, evenings and mid-day. Their tracking system gave us confidence that each of our care dates was covered in our unpredictable schedule. They are GREAT with communication and texted us updates and photos of our dogs during visits so we knew all was well with them and allowed us to enjoy our outings even more. Even though we were only visiting Tucson, they treated us and our dogs like we were long-time valued clients so Snowbirds shouldn't hesitate to give them a call. Period!! We are super anal about our two cats. They came out and did a walk through and met our cats as well as going over every detail about what we wanted. They arrived every day , fed them, played with them, and did the liter box. They even send pictures everyday for our piece of mind. Our cats love them!!! We moved to Tucson six months ago, one of the first things we needed to find was a pet sitter. After reading reviews we decided to give Paws n' Critters a try. Sandy (owner) and Jack (pet sitter) arrived a few days before our trip to meet us and our dogs. RIght away I was at ease leaving our dogs in their care. Jack is great, very friendly and are dogs took to him right away. He was great about sending us a text on how everyone was doing. We've also been lucky and had Liz as a pet sitter, she's as great as Jack. From our first visit to the second time we used Paws n' Critters we had to start giving one of our dogs insulin. A day before we left on our trip Ozzy started having insulin issues, I had to take him to the vet to get his insulin checked. I was so nervous to leave him but Liz put my mind at ease. Every day she would send us pictures and let us know how he was doing. She was AMAZING, our vacation was stress free because I knew our fur babies were taken care of. Pathetic. Didn't contract her because she wanted to upsell us to every 48-hour visits, and refused to do it otherwise. Apparently she knows more about our pet than we do. She tries to sell it as "knowing what's best" for our pet, really focusing on her upsell of daily visits (she actually wanted multi-daily), not knowing anything about our 21yo cat and his specific needs/patterns/behaviors (extremely disconnected from strangers and over-interaction with a stranger would cause unnecessary stress). We see that others have marked this post useful - we have done our job. Our baby finally passed away in 2017 and fortunately his final years were stress-free with caring providers that helped us based on HIS needs when we couldn't be there. read more

Great service. I hired them for three weeks to look after my crazy border collie, and they did a great job. My dog seemed very happy and mellow when I returned, and I can tell she absolutely loves her sitter. Also, had to use them on short notice one time and they were able to get me in no problem.
