I own two very anxious dogs and one somewhat ancient (19 1/2 years) old kitty. I'd felt very nervous (not to mention guilty) about leaving them for a week but they all did wonderfully. The kitty is on multiple meds for health issues and clearly all of the directions were followed to a "T" because she came home in fine form. The dogs, despite having stayed there during monsoon storms, both made it through unscathed. My dog loves this place! He gets a play time daily plus adding on a walk is just a few more dollars. The staff are friendly and professional and it shows that they care for and enjoy animals. They accommodate what your dog (or cat) needs and you can bring food, bedding, toys and treats and they will make sure your dog gets what is needed. I boarded our family of 5 pups (mom, dad & 3 of their pups) just recently. It was hard considering it was our first time to board our furry family members, then there were the confusion over the vaccines that we needed to have & didn't, plus having to deal with very separation-anxious dogs. We called each day to know how the dogs were doing, & they were surprisingly very accommodating considering their facility is always busy with people coming in & out boarding or taking their pets out. The facility is decent, nothing fancy but clean. They have enough space for the dogs to run & play. I liked that they exert effort to socialize friendly small dogs together & although my pack is a family & will probably stick together as thieves being in a new environment, I appreciated it that they're into the overall well-being of the doggies. I also liked the fact that they report to you what has happened. Like one of my pups puked (maybe of stress) or that they really can't tell which one is really eating or not bec the pups won't touch their food (mixed of their own dry food & wet food i cooked myself). I knew that is expected, so I had the staff to leave a bowl of dry day food for the pups to munch. I liked it that the dogs came back smelling good & they looked happy, not sickly. This place is amazing & they have an amazing staff. Kudos to Daniella at the front desk, & the nice lady who administered the missing bordetella vaccines to my 2 other pups. I highly recommend this place, but make sure tho your pups have an updated (within 6 months) latest bordetella vaccines bec you will run to get it. You need enough time to take care of this otherwise, you'll be late for your flight or trip. Call them a week before or read the forms you have to fill out so then you won't be in the same hassle we had (which is our shortcoming, not theirs). Affordability-wise, their pricing is very good, I would say. They told me I may get a discount for boarding 5 dogs, but they forgot & I didn't even attempt to ask bec I'm more interested in how they treat our furry family members than caring to ask for a discount. On a little side note, I used this facility in 2011 boarding my chihuahua. I was living alone, my kids hasn't come over from another country, I worked long nightshift hours as an RN, & Diego, my baby chihuahua, would always be left alone at night. When he boarded day on one of my trips, I guess he loved it so much socializing with other tiny dogs that he hesitated to come home with me, it was heartbreaking! So yes, At Home Kennel, will be used again in the future. The people there love dogs & they will treat yours as a family too. read more

I am late on writing this review but they really deserve it. I moved here about a year ago and this place has been awesome in every way. I did not know anyone here and have to travel for work often so I found this place. Every person that works there has been has been awesome to me and my dogs. I have two crazy German Shepherds and they love this place. Not once in a year have I had any problems and they always help to help me find space to board my dogs. I just want to take a moment and praise a business. Ozzy stayed at a kennel called At Home Kennels. I was scared of course leaving my boy with strangers. But these people allowed me to call & check on him. Even gave me the word I needed to properly describe him. They even sent an email with a picture of my boy playing in the yard & understood his obsession with the hose. They even took him on daily walks and made sure h got all of his daily meds. Well I just got a card from them today with messages from each staff member saying so sorry and some with little extra somethings. If I should ever need to leave Jameson will go there. God to find such a caring place just sold me to recommend them to whoever listens. read more

I would never take my dogs here again. I left my dogs for 8 nights with At Home Kennels. When we came to pick them back up, they didn't have their x large dog beds and queen size blankets we dropped them off with, got misplaced we were told. When we asked for our bag of items upon arrival we were told we didn't give them a bag but after looking for awhile they found our bag with leashes, dog treats, chew toys and an itemized list of all items I brought with instructions left in the bag and never got touched. I asked to speak to the owner and she never reached out and the manager wasn't very nice herself and couldn't explain to me what happen. I am so upset that I trusted this is facility with my beloved dogs and I don't want anyone else to make the mistake of leaving their dogs at this place. Who knows how many days my dogs didn't have their beds to lay in. I also asked if their is a camera or any pictures taken of my dog the entire time they were in their kennels or outside having play time and not one, pretty convenient. How do I know my dogs got their walks and special breakfast that I asked for... it has been five days since we have been home and they still are not back to themselves, very clingy and have diarrhea. We have never seen them act like this after being away for a few days. I was hoping to find a place closer but will be taking them back to Sierra Vista in the future. Please don't trust this place with your beloved animals. read more

Had a last minute cancellation of our regular pet sitter and AT Home stepped right up and took our Weimaraner as long as his shots were up to date. Helped us find a place to find a bordatella vaccination on a Sunday. A tack and feed store for $13 dollars. Who would have thunk? Very pleased with intake and pick up service. Did a great job on his pedicure as well. They are almost 30 miles from where we live but we'll use them again. Nice folks. read more

Many good things can be said about this kennel! My dog is high maintenance and special needs. This kennel always does an an amazing job with her. Shes prone to bloody diarrhea even when family watches her. Not here. She even had a medical emergency while i was gone (nothing to do with the kennel). My husband and I had to go out of town for two weeks, we had to decide where to board our little furry guy......we decided to use at-home kennel because the previous yelp reviews were good and the price was very reasonable. If i had known then what I know now I would have spent more money on a better boarding facility. --first, when we checked him in the girl in front was very nice- she let me see where he was going to be staying- Which was a good size kennel with concrete floors and a doggy door leading to a run outside ---it was very noisy and as she led us through the kennels we were warned not all the dogs were people or dog friendly..I was a bit uneasy but I ignored my gut and decided it was because I just don't like leaving him........ according to their website "We provide all necessary supplies; food, bowls, and soft clean beds and blankets. If you prefer you are welcome to bring your dog's own personal items." Since they stated they provide a doggy bed I didn't bother bringing his- less items to worry about---however as she led us back the only "bed and blanket" provided was a single thin towel......so the next day we returned with a large blanket for him--- it's not that I believe it is their responsibility to provide beds and blankets, but they shouldn't make claims on the website that are not true- it would have saved us another trip to drop off a proper blanket for him because we would have brought it with us to begin with. In the end we left our dog, several doggy toys and a large blanket for two weeks in the hands of at-home kennel. After two wks we returned to pick up our little one- we missed him terribly and was super excited to get him back- When they brought him out, my first thought was he looked like he lost weight----after my husband picked him up he noted that our little one was, damp....strange since we hadn't asked for him to be bathed--but I wasn't going to worry about that---what I did worry about was they brought him out- but without any of the additional items we left.....the blanket and toys. I asked the gentleman who brought him out about the additional items we left, he told us our dog had shredded his blanket.....strange since our dog has NEVER chewed a blanket in the three years we have had him....he also mentioned one of his toys ended up in another dog's kennel and was shredded as well by that dog......ummmmm what??? Why was a toy I provided for my dog in another dog's kennel??? He went back and returned with what was left of our items...I quickly threw everything he handed me into a bag and left- when I got home I realized one of the toys they gave me was not ours....so it looks like missing toys might be a regular occurrence here. We have boarded our dog different places in the past and he has always come back happy and full of energy... In this case he came back lethargic and clearly not happy---he also came back with kennel cough....I know that isn't necessarily the kennel's fault, but again- it's the first time he has ever returned from a boarding place sick. The staff when we picked him up were pretty Apathetic-------they lacked any kind of warmth that I have found at other places- All in all I am less than enthusiastic about this place and next time will spend more money on a place that cares about my little furry one... read more

Unfortunately I had to go through a few horrible kennels before I found this one, but I will never take my dog anywhere else now. I have a 75 pound blue heeler/lab mix and to say the least, he is a handful. The staff has always been very kind to him and understanding when he has his over-excited moments. They make sure he gets exercise 2 times a day, which is actually rare to find at a kennel. I pay $17 dollars a day to board him, and they provide food if you don't bring in a special type for your dog. Last Thanksgiving I boarded my dog there and with my permission (no extra cost either), they gave him a Thanksgiving feast! Not only that but they took awesome pictures of him while he was eating. I cannot say enough good things about this kennel and the employees. Don't waste your time looking around at other kennels, this one is a keeper! The only recommendation I have is if you have a smaller, anxious/nervous dog, you might want to check it out in person to see if that's the right environment for them because it might be too overwhelming. read more

They follow up with any questions and are attentive to the needs of the pets. They provide a wide variety of services and are very affordable. Man. I've never left my babies before. I have left them twice in the past month. Once driving to NM, and once for a week while I was in Alaska. The first thing I noticed was that they loved on all of the animals. That's nice to see. They ask about little things like making your animals eggs in the morning etc. My dogs came home happy and well cared for. They smelled like kennel, but had a bath at home when we got there. The rates were wonderful. My only recommendation is to maybe have a staging area or drop off for dog on dog aggressive dogs (my senior citizen boxer thinks he needs to eat all of the dogs. He's quite cranky.) #doglivesmatter. I highly recommend this place overall. read more

I have been leaving my dog with AT HOME KENNELS for years. They provide excellent care and fabulous customer service each and every time. I have never had to worry about my dog and if I am going to be delayed, they have been wonderful about any last minute changes. They are excellent about their vaccinations policy and know everything about your pet's needs. My fur baby is always in good hands. In fact, as soon as we arrive, my dog is none too happy to go to her new surroundings and to play with the chickens. It's "hasta la vista Mommy" and "hola!" to her friends! Due to our cat being recently diagnosed with diabetes we were unsure what we were going to do due to a couple trips that we had planned prior to his diagnosis. We searched for places that would take amazing care of him while we were gone and be able to give him his insulin shots twice a day and feed him following that. This place is wonderful. I have been taking my dogs here for several years. They love going to At Home Kennels. The staff is great. They all are knowledgeable about animal care. They are great with all the "clients". I have a couple of dogs that have a few issues and the staff are so good and patient with them. I use AHK for day boarding and extended boarding. Customer service was amazing. I received a ton of information from a very warm and friendly employee when I called for information about a reservation. It gave me the confidence to book a stay for my dogs. A week prior to their stay, the kennel called to check in with me and make sure I knew exactly what type of vaccinations my dogs needed and the documentation to bring in. Check in was thorough and I was told to call anytime to check on my pups. When I picked them up they were happy and I was given a run down on how each of them did during their stay. It was clear the employees had spent time with my dogs and paid attention as they feedback given described their personalities and mannerisms perfectly. Just dropped my human aggressive dog off and I tell ya, I couldn't have chosen a more loving, warm place for him to stay! Even though he growled, lunged and even pooped on the floor they were eager to work with him and make him as comfortable as possible while encouraging me the entire time! I paid, and then looked out the window and my dog was able to be walked by one of the gentleman and was having a great time with him as well! The At-Home Kennels staff are exceptionally caring and competent. We have used many different kennels where we have lived in different parts of the country and At-Home is without doubt the best. We have used At-Home for around ten years with two different dogs. Our current dog is a "special needs" Beagle who is insulin-dependent and requires eye drops. The staff are not only "dog people" who go out of their way to make your dog comfortable and meet their every need, they are extremely competent and knowledgeable regarding the care of animals. Walks, grooming, eggs for breakfast, and other extras put At-Home Kennels ahead of the pack. Your dog gets his/her own "room with a patio" and gets to play in the large yard at times during the day. I've taken my dog here twice and he always comes back happy as ever. The first time I dropped him off, they invited me to come to the back and see where the dogs are kept. I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the whole facility. The actual living space for the dogs all have an opening that leads to a private outside patio. I'm sure my dog appreciates being able to go inside or out at will. I pay $14 a night to board my 38lb dog and I couldn't be happier with the service provided here. read more

I made a reservation for my cats and had them checked by my vet. Because they are indoor only, my vet wrote a professional letter about not giving one vaccination for feline leukemia due to it not being transferred by air and a small but real risk of cancer in that shot. When I went to drop them off, the staff refused to take them without having that one vaccination despite the letter from the vet and that they have separate glass enclosed kennels for each cat. I think it's ridiculous. read more

I had never had my 2 basset mixed dogs in a kennel. In 2.5 years they had never been away from me. I was scheduled to go on a cruise & was gone 7 days. In my mind a kennel was an evil choice! But I listened to my friend Riki who has used this kennel for 10 years. She raves about them. I decided to use them , and best decision. I don't drive and Shannon picked them up and delivered them home. She is very caring and kind. I was a nervous Mom & called every day & no matter who I talked to they knew who the girls were and would give me an up-to date report on both of the girls. They were walked & played with every day. I loved the fact that they shared a larger kennel and had their own small yard they could access at any time by a doggie door. At home also does shampoo & nail trims for a reasonable charge. Shannon also did this and the girls nails have never been so neat & trim. I was so impressed with their service and care of the dogs, that in February I took a longer vacation and the girls were there 10 days . Again same great loving care. I was also impressed on this visit that right after the girls got there I was called to be told Sophia was vomiting. They watched her very close and it was resolved by that night. I left my kitten here for three days and when I came to pick her up she looked much thinner than usual. She eats a mixture of wet and dry food. I left two cans of wet food and could tell from her poops that she wasn't given any wet food. They kept the wet food. When I got home I fed her and I've never seen her eat so fast. She ate like she had not been fed in days. Send your animals here at your own risk. They do not know how to properly care for cats. read more
