Anthony was great, our dog had some pretty bad aggression issues and is deaf so we were struggling on how to correct his behavior. Anthony was great with our dog moose, but even more importantly he was great with us -- he taught us exactly how to move forward and has been available anytime we've had a question since the initial board and train. I would recommend anyone struggling with their dogs behavior to go to Anthony. Moose has a much better demeanor overall and is much more secure and sweet.

Anthony did amazing work when helping us out with our adopted Amstaff named Roscoe. Roscoe came with some behavior and trust issues he inherited from his previous owners and we were struggling trying to train and fix those issues by our selves. After researching we found Anthony and did an assessment in our home. We signed Roscoe up for his board and training package and Roscoe has been doing amazing. we have been able to work through all of his issues and the results have been ongoing. We even board Roscoe with Anthony when we are out of town and are unable to bring Roscoe with us. Anthony's K9 services was the best decision we made for Roscoe. You will not be disappointed.

    BlueCheese during Board-and-Train

My pitbull BlueCheese had problems with dog agression for ~2 years after being attacked multiple times by off-leash dogs during our neighborhood walks. We could not walk by dogs on leash without him puffing up, growling and charging towards them. We tried other board-and-train facilities with no success. Anthony was our last hope and we really wanted to work with him because he's the only trainer in the area who would expose BlueCheese to other dogs - HIS beautiful well-tempered pitbulls. We wanted to give BlueCheese a chance to have positive interactions with other dogs, under the supervision of a professional trainer. BlueCheese stayed woth Anthony for about a month and 2 weeks in he was sending us videos of BlueCheese hanging out with Anthony's pittbulls without a muzzle, with no signs of aggression. After the training Bluecheese was very relaxed - its worth noting that Anthony has a very zen energy and I saw the same in his home and in his dogs. Anthony had also perfected his leash training, so BlueCheese no longer pulls in the leash in walks and if he does he is responsive to correction. Most important of all, BlueCheese responds to correction when he starts to tense up around other dogs. We met anthony a couple of weeks after board-and-train and we practiced walking around other dogs on leash (we had not attempted this yet after training). We could not believe it was possible for bluecheese to ignore other dogs, it took one correction for him to remember his training and get the message. Anthony's training method is balanced (uses rewards and corrections), he is professional and punctual as he works primarily by appointment. I would say that if you want to see your dog on camera and get updates every second of every day Anthony is not the trainer for you. Anthony provides updates weekly, sometimes more often if good progress is made. The point is that you will have to trust your best friend's well being to Anthony, we are glad we did. We are so happy with the experience that we started boarding BlueCheese with Anthony periodically for one night, only so he gets to hang out with the pack again and continue having those positive interactions with dogs. BlueCheese gets excited every time we go back and gets super happy to see Anthony, reassurance that he had a good time during the month of training.

Anthony did rattle snake avoidence training with my girl today. I need to be honest and tell you that I can be very annoying when it comes to my animals. I ask a lot of questions, I verbalize my expectations and I even annoy myself! I adore my pet's and don't blindly trust people with them. He answered all my questions with patience and detail. He tested the amount of charge she would feel on his own hand and took time to be sure thing's were fitted. I felt confident that she was safe at all time's. I was very happy with the professionalism and skill level. I recommend Anthony and plan on using him again. If you board your dog at Kennel Comfort ask about the benefit of having him do training while your baby is staying there. I don't board there but I use the groomer Tasha and I found it very convenient to come there and use their shaded training area.

Fiona is now a well trained member of our family thanks to the efficient skills and endless support of Anthony's K-9 Services.

My need for a trainer began with our newly adopted 8 year old Pit Bull who was a dream to walk until we encountered another dog on a leash and it was a combination of embarrassing lunges and barking, hiding on neighbor's driveways to avoid conflict and physically trying to contain my dog on the leash. After researching every advertised trainer in the Tucson area, I settled on Anthony. For hours, I read through every review written about him and I decided if the reviews were anything to go on, his services were closest to our needs. I was not disappointed. Sadly, early on in our sessions, Blue passed away and we were unable to achieve our goal of introducing him to a life on the leash without fear or anxiety. Having said all of this, in the brief time I worked with Anthony, I was impressed by his method of taking the time to understand the root of my dog's problems first and balancing the training of consequence for unwanted behavior with the critical timing of reward for good behavior, all in a very compassionate manner. I knew then that I would seek his services again if our next dog needed help. Enter Fiona, our 1 year old Pit Bull who had zero knowledge of living inside a house. There was no question who I would call but at the time our first lesson was to begin, the local sheltering in place restrictions made it impossible for Anthony to meet her as planned. Thank goodness he reinvented his business to include video training and it was no time that we were finding ourselves learning basic obedience via videos that included audio direction and the very helpful demonstration of Anthony using a dog in his home. If clarification or explanation was needed, he was just a phone call, email or video chat away and with that, and his ever optimistic encouragement, we soon had a well behaved pup in our home. Not long after that we found ourselves in an unexpected need for boarding so we immediately grabbed the opportunity to enlist Anthony's services to board and train Fiona for additional Off Leash Training. We were relieved knowing she was staying in a safe, qualified, dog friendly home, not a kennel facility, with someone who was not just invested in his business but in the quality of the relationship between dog and pet owner. We picked up our girl 2 weeks later, the same happy, bubbly Pittie with homework for continued lessons going forward in her training. I would not hesitate to recommend Anthony to anyone who is considering the help of a trainer no matter how minor or helpless the situation may seem. He has an abundance of care or training services available, but more importantly, he takes the time to assess the dog's needs and the owner's expectations to effectively advise the training best suited for your needs. He not only recognizes the needs of the dog but very wisely addresses the training the humans might learn from in order to understand the body language your dog uses to communicate what it of feeling. Anthony is well worth the money and your dog is well worth the investment. Tina Bradley

There is some confusion about the locations of Sol Dog. When I first signed up to board my dogs, I…read morethought I was dealing with the people from Sol Dog on Prince Road. That statement is 1/2 right. Looks like the Sol Dog on Prince now has a new name and that owner used to be part of Sol Dog but is not anymore. My dogs were boarded in May 2026 for 4 days. All did not go well. I have spoken to Justin and Shelley from Sol Dog and BOTH of them have now said "that's not how we normally do things". When I spoke to Shelley today and told her that they had to say, "that's not normally how we do things", for 3 separate issues her reply made me want to do reviews so other people could see that the service I got was exactly how they normally do things. Issue 1- on our tour of the facility (beautiful facility) we were led to believe that we would be allowed to settle our dogs in their kennel. We were not. Shelley said, "that people are not allowed in the kennel area". When I told her that we were taken into the kennel area on our tour, she said "that's not normally how we do things". Issue 2- We gave written on paper instruction on how to feed our dogs. and put the instructions in their system. Not complicated. One dog gets dry and wet food. The other gets wet food only. The dog that got wet food only was fed dry food. Sol Dog sent me a text on day 2 that they were almost out of dry food. When I called and questioned how they were feeding my dogs, I was told they were feeding them correctly. It wasn't until I sent them an email that they admitted to feeding my dog incorrectly. Guess what I was told??? You guessed it "that's not how we normally do things". Issue 3- Communication. I was told that someone from Sol Dog would communicate with me and let me know how the dogs were doing a couple times a day. The evening I dropped them off I did hear from someone. The next day Nothing. The 3rd day I sent a text at 730am and did not hear back till 330pm. GUESS WHAT? "THATS NOT HOW WE NORMALLY DO THINGS". Some issues I brought up with Justin that I didn't bring up with Shelley. My dog blankets and toys were not dirty, had no dog hair and smelled like I just took them out of my dryer. I had a lot of treats left over and if they were given to the dogs like I was told they would be, there should not have been that much left. Sol Dog left such a bad taste that I told them I would never board with them again. Justin and Shelley both agree that since they were told I would never board with them again that there was not much they could do to fix the issue. I was not told they were sorry. I was not offered any refund, not that I would have taken it. They did have to pay the staff to feed my dogs wrong and not give them their toys, blankets or treats. All in all, I feel like the experience that I had with Sol Dog is EXACTLY HOW THEY NORMALLY DO THINGS.

TLDR: THERE'S NO ONE THERE AT NIGHT! Terrible communication! If your dog has any kind of anxiety…read moreissue, please don't leave it here. I have a 3 year old rescue poodle mix with a history of separation anxiety and inability to tolerate being crated. When I first got him 2 years ago he hurt himself pretty bad trying to get out of a crate. I explained this to Erin twice - when I went for the tour and 10 days later when I called to make the reservation. On the tour Erin showed me the standard "suite" which is a long hallway with animal shelter-type chain link kennel and the "deluxe" suite which is a single block wall room with walled outdoor run. I told Erin he would need a "deluxe" suite and lots of human and dog play time due to his separation anxiety disorder. This place does NOT require a meet and greet with your dog. I left my dog at 4:15 pm on Thursday 2/9 and again asked for as much dog and human play time as possible. I did not have to sign anything or leave a credit card. The next morning, Erin called me to let me know that Max had a little scrape on his nose and that they didn't want me to be surprised by the injury at pickup. I asked her what happened and she said there had been a big wind storm during the night and that the morning feeder person found him bloody - he had been trying to get out under the steel door. That's when I first realized THERE'S NO ONE THERE AT NIGHT. When I picked him he could hardly walk. The bridge of his nose was badly scraped. His chin, lips and gums were badly injured. His toe pads on his two front feet were shredded - he was limping from the pain. He looked like he had been beaten down. I asked Erin why she didn't tell me there's NO night staff and she said "You didn't ask." AYFKM?? There is NOTHING on their website indicating they have no one there overnight. For my dog this was no "vacation," not a "resort," and he was not treated like "family" despite what their website says. And the vet bill was twice what the boarding fee would have been - at least. And FWIW my daughter's lab won't be back - my daughter was also shocked to hear there's NO ONE THERE AT NIGHT!!!

The reception we got when we dropped off our lab was not welcoming. No happy welcome for my pup. If…read morewe didn't have a flight the next morning I would have taken him away from this place right then. I SHOULD have researched this place better, as I finally realized any interaction with my lab was determined on how much money I wanted to lay down, with a 15 minute "limit" each time. Hmmm, a lot of hours without interaction. Nobody is at this facility at night. From what I can determine, at least an 8 to 12 hour span. Too bad if your pup needs to pee or poop in the early mornings... The photos we received during his stay showed littered material in the background during his play session. Looks like a chew toy totally chewed up. Not my pups toy. No concern for my pup to be choking on any of it. Made me wonder just how they really treated him. When we picked up our lab, the reception was about the same. Pay now, here's your dog. No conversation about how my pup did during his stay. Nothing! It was like I picked up a "stuffed animal"! Besides being very happy to see us, my pup was very thirsty when we got in the truck. Never saw him drink that much water in one sitting. I blame myself for not researching more. This place is a business and not a caring one. This was our first boarding experience. Now I know what to look for when choosing another boarding place. This one will not be on the list This place might be fine for daily boarding...but not overnight or long term, in my opinion. Also, the older receptionist needs some training on customer service. Even my dog showed a dislike for her.
