After a year of trying different groomers, we finally found the perfect match at Teddy's for our Golden Doodle! The staff is friendly and obviously very skilled at what they do. The salon is very open with lots of work stations. It took several hours but they were well spent. Jéfe smelled wonderful and was so soft. His "teddy bear" cut was absolutely perfect as were his nails. A cute Valentines kerchief was added for a splash of color. My vet recommended I take my sister's elderly, smelly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to Teddy's. They worked on her for over 3 hours; shaving her down to a short cut, using special shampoo for her dandruff/oily skin, and finally they put special sticky pad grippers (I brought) onto her feet. I came in after work today to pick up my dog and I walk in and immediately as I do so a woman who I wasn't sure if she worked there maybe owned the shop? I'm not too sure but she gave me the nastiest disgusted face while looking me up and down in my work clothes and then after a minute of staring finally asks how she can help me and later walked out the door. I have a little pomeranian, he is very small and gets extremely nervous when being groomed. After having an awful experience at a different groomer across the street at "Spike and Chesters". I made an appointment for the next day with Teddys. Julie was amazing, very gentle and accommodating to my dog who was very nervous. We took our 2 year old Husky to Teddy's for his first ever trip to a groomer. He is a well mannered dog...but full of young energy. Needless to say, they accepted him with open arms and were up for the challenge. The staff worked there rear ends off with this ball of fire. I am sure must grooming places would not have worked with him. I am beyond thankful for what Teddy's did for Kota. Told the owner everything I needed done on my two Miniature Schnauzers when I made the appointment over the phone. I was very specific and stated that I had one feisty girl who can be difficult to groom who had matting on her belly and a boy who has a Mohawk that I wanted kept on. Told her I wanted the traditional Schnauzer cut on both. Was given a price of 63 or $68 dollars, one of the two. They were able to get me in within a few days which I appreciated. When I picked up my dogs my girl as I expected wasn't cut very great, but she does move and I know this, no big deal. But my boy who allows himself to be groomed and have never had a problem with was just choppy and not the quality I am used to. Both of them had a lot of hair on their pads still, and their ears were not plucked and cleaned out well like my groomer in Colorado would do. Overall the job was mediocre. To top it all off I was charged $78 for both because the girl moved too much and was matted and because of a pattern fee on my boy. I told you EXACTLY what I wanted over the phone and the issues you would run into and at no time during that conversation or at drop off did anyone mention there would be extra charges for any of this. If anyone knows of a good groomer let me know because this one is not worth the money. read more

We have a medium sized shaggy dog and just moved to Arizona and he needed a hair cut. We took him in and his hair was cut way shorter than we specified and choppy and they charged us 80 dollars! My dog is banned from Teddys. The first time we went there was wonderful, they groomed him well, he was happy when we got him back and even filed his nails after cutting them. We had warned them before hand that sometimes he gets touchy, especially one nail that really bothers him. We asked them to please muzzle him, as he's a pit and thus 100% muscle and hard to handle when he gets scared or agitated. They said he had almost no issues, just some discomfort with releasing his anal glands(a first for him). This weekend we took him back, smitten with the service and ability to have a few hours to move some furniture without him causing trouble. I got three missed calls and two voicemails, the woman (Amanda maybe?) saying he got upset after his bath and they couldn't get him out of the tub, he's "vicious", we need to pick him up immediately, we "need to socialize him, or take him to training classes or whatever, he can never come back here.". Her messages were absolutely unprofessional, rude, and hurtful. I'm a reasonable person, telling me he's too much of a liability and they can't take him back is all she needed to say, but she felt the need to continue to berate me and blame my dog. He hasn't been feeling well, it was my fault for bringing him in. Anyway, the point of my review is that if you have a dog with ANY HISTORY of aggression, growling, showing teeth, or anything, don't take them here. They do not muzzle the dogs. The groomers excuse for being rude is that she was bitten by a different pit just before calling me. My PUPPY does get aggresive when he doesn't feel good or gets scared. I always warn others to muzzle him. He was put into a kennel right by the loud blow dryers to wait for us, I was told "no one can touch him, so you have to come get him" and as the groomer wouldn't move out of the way, when he emerged from the kennel and saw her, he cowered. read more

UPDATE: Went to Teddy's while on holiday in Tucson this past Feb. As always, they did a fabulous job and when we flew back north the next day, several people at the airport commented he looks like a show dog! This is bar-none the BEST groomer I have ever taken my dogs. They are kind and obviously love every pet that sets paws in the place. My dogs never had nicks, cuts or scratches, unlike the groomer across the street that became famous because Oprah took her dogs there. Their prices are reasonable, they were gentle with my elderly Shih Tzus and my very spoiled BijaPoo. They were always on time, I never waited hours for my dogs to be done (unlike the Oprah famous place across the street) and they always looked adorable when we picked them up. I moved away from Tucson and have tried to find a groomer comparable to Teddy's. They have left such a high standard in my mind that I have yet to find ANY groomer in my new location who does a better job and who is obviously kind to and loves the pets. Another bonus is they are open on Sunday. This is the BEST groomer. I wish I could find a groomer as wonderful as the groomers at Teddy's. read more

Dropped our little dog off at 11 and assuming it will take three hours . I call and they tell me he will be ready at 4. Five hours later . Completely ruined our Saturday. We are from Phoenix and I have never had my dog have to stay five hours at a groomers. Three hours tops. Unfortunately they do a good job and not a great selection of groomers out here. read more

I took my two dogs in for grooming and scheduled an appointment for 11:30. I had them groom at Teddy's before and was happy with the results. This time was not a good experience. I received a call to pick them up at 4:30. As usual both dogs were happy to see me and I was surprised when an employee offered to take one of the dogs out of the cage and walked her out the door. I was rushed out of the business and I put both dogs in my car. When I got home I discovered my little Min Pin was filthy. She was obviously not bathed (her face was dirty) and her toenails were just tipped off. My long hair dog was cut unevenly and had something sticky all over her neck. I gave both dogs a bath. I will not be back. It was obvious the dogs were not groomed properly at all. read more

Excellent experience! The groomers are very friendly and nice, especially, Heather. Their grooming of my two cocker spaniels is the quality of a show dog haircut, which is hard to find. Clearly, they know what they are doing. The only thing I would say is that I would like to drop my dogs off in the morning and get them back by noon, so that they don't have to sit in a cage all day. But, more often than not, I drop them at 10AM and they aren't ready until after 4:00PM. Otherwise, this is a top notch grooming facility. read more

I've been a customer at Teddy's for 3 years but today is the last time I will be taking my dogs there. Granted I only go once or twice a year but I should be able to expect them to be somewhat organized when I call for an appointment. No record of my previous visits after a 15 minute long conversation. Who knew it would ever take that long! But I was able to make an appointment for a bath and haircut for my dogs 2+ weeks in advance. The day before the appointment I am called and again asked my last name and my dogs names. Gave it to them again but still no record of my previous visits. I am busy and don't have time to spend valuable minutes on the phone while they try to figure out their "cards"! None of their records are in a digital form. Technology phobes drive me nuts; quite a lot of them in Tucson for some reason. So I tell them to call me back when they have it all figured out; 15 minutes later they do and the appointment is on for the following day. Go to the appointment at the appointed time. Have to fill out a new card for the new dog. Give both home and cell numbers and tell them we are going grocery shopping so the cell would be the better number to call. We arrive home and there is a message from Teddy's on our home phone! Fifteen minutes after we dropped them off they wanted to know if they could use a medicated shampoo on one of our dogs. Why the time we received the message the dog had been bathed with regular shampoo (which was fine). When they did call to let us know the dogs were ready to pick up they called on my cell phone! I don't get it but it won't be happening again. They also ask for an email address; not sure why since they don't use technology; I've never received an email from them. Asking them to text me when the dogs were done would have been way beyond their capability. Livid! PS, the dogs looked great, the groomers are wonderful. The owner is afraid of technology and joining the 21st century. read more

Very friendly and attentive staff. Our Miniature Schnauzer Bach does not do so well with trims but Amanda is very patient and has been able to do more with him than anyone else we have tried. Several places simply told us they wouldn't try to groom him at all due to his constant twisting, turning, and snapping. Great service. read more

Second time I've taken my puppy Camille here and I won't be back. First time, $62 for a bath and cut! I'm thinking that's very high but I'm like okay it's her first time, she needed a good trim....2nd time $72! They asked if she was scratching and of course I said yes, she does a little. I was told she needed an oatmeal bath for her dry skin and she won't scratch anymore. Okay that was $6 and then they charged me $4 because she wiggled some during her visit. She's a puppy for God's sake. What a rip off. They shaved her down to almost no hair! Not happy at all and she still scratches! Don't waste your money. My normal place Poodles and Paws was very busy and that's where I take My 100 lb Bouviers and they charge $80 for them to be groomed...Teddy's charges me $72 for a 5lb baby Yorkie? Come on, she was just there 6 weeks ago. I will wait for an opening at Poodles and Paws never again will I come here. Anyone that knows me, knows I'm not cheap and I pay for great service, hands down no questions asked... honestly, You people need to regroup. read more

This is the first negative review I have ever written. I have been bringing my dog to get her nails clipped at Teddy's since I moved into this neighborhood in 2011. The last two times they were extremely rude to me and acted like I was inconveniencing them with my small dog. It only takes 5 min to cut her nails! They also only accept cash which is inconvenient as well. We won't be visiting this establishment again and will advise others against it as well. read more

not sure why this grooming place hasn't gotten more reviews considering they have been around for about 20 yrs...but I am glad I found this place and took our dog there. We moved from out of state about 3 months ago and have been looking for a local groomers. We first took our dog to Petsmart but I am glad they didn't take our 11 yr old dog in (he's got a disc problem and is incontinent which make him aggressive). Perhaps it's the negative vibe there but it was completely different when I took my dog to Teddy's. They did a great job and was very friendly. I am giving this place 4 stars because they only take cash or check and also because they didn't cut his hair short enough but I am very satisfied with the staff and their work. Thank you Teddy's! I will be taking our dog back for future grooming. OH! I forgot that they put a Easter scarf around his neck when I went to pick him up! He was just so cute! =) read more
