They refused to groom my dog....which is understandable but what was not okay was that the girl I believe her name was Victoria was chocking my dog. She continued to do it even though my dog was choking and coughing. She was pulling her away with the leashes they use but had it tight and close to her neck read more

I took my dog ( cocker spaniel) to get groomed on January 2021, had an appt with Victoria I, my daughter picked him up at the groomers, I notice him uncomfortable, he really avoid sitting down or laying down and would cry when he did, I checked him and noticed his tummy and private part were irritated but it was not until the next day or 2 were I seen his irritation was bad to the point were he had blisters...my dog is a hyper dog and maybe hard to groomed but to me u should still be careful and not hurt the pets that do go in. I had to take my dog to the vet and ended up getting a cream for him...never again will I take my dog there! Make sure u check your pups when u picked them up! read more

Stay away from this Petsmart groomers, especially the groomer Victoria. She turned away my dog after I told her that I wanted a second opinion on the best approach to address my dogs minimally matted ears. They refused to schedule me for an appointment within the week following the inconvenience of turning me away. In a previous post you will also find another shared experience of another customer who experienced the same with the lazy groomer Victoria who just wants to shave dogs so she doesn't have to do her job. They were extremely rude and lacked significantly in proper customer service, even when the manager became involved. I was also the only person of color here, and I'm concerned that I was treated that way due to my skin color. I felt microaggressions towards me from Victoria from the minute she begun interacting with me. She even greeted me differently when compared to white customers. read more

Wow, i can't believe how I was treated at this Petsmart store. I went on the internet checking for Nylabone Healthy Edibles Chew Treats and Petsmart had them on special. I bought 3 boxes at a price of $88.11. They emailed me back and it said that it was good in stock and i could pick it up. An hour later i was just a happy camper until my wife said these are not the right ones. I looked at the advertised picture and she was right it was the wrong box. then further checking, the date code on the product was 11/16/2018. The day i bought it was 11/29/2018. first off they BAIT and SWITCHED the product and said this is the right item by the sku #... i guess they felt i was not going to say anything but i did. The manager said i didn't have the actual reciept and the email pick up didn't have how i paid??? they asked how did i pay for this? Through PayPal. They told me they need proof and wanted me to get on my cell Phone and show them how i paid.... I really got upset and raised my voice, Whats going on here i told the manager? She told me that she has no record of this transaction because it was an internet purchase. GIVE ME A BREAK She sold me the wrong product, out Dated, she seen my paperwork for pick up and thay have no record. What kind of business are they running? Then one of the employee's came and said i found it. after 20 minutes I asked for a refund of my money. The Manager said " WE CAN'TGIVE YOU A REFUND BECAUSE IT WAS PAID BY PAYPAL. WE DON'T HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM TO REFUND YOUR MONEY, ALL I CAN DO IS GIVE YOU A STORE CREDIT." I told her i don't want a store credit because i'm never going to come back to your store and any other Petsmart Store. So either refund it to Paypal or give me cash. She said I'll give you a store credit that all we can do for you. I guess it was take it or leave it choice. Now i have a Petsmart Merchantdise credit. Normally, we have had good service at the groomer over the past couple of years. Today, Ginger had a 7:00 appointment (I had to get up at 6:15). The manager, Sandra, refused to take our dog because the Banfield hospital at the Petsmart in the Whitwood Mall didn't give us a certificate for her rabies vaccination (which we got her a couple weeks ago). She said they couldn't find it in the system and when I offered to run to the other Petsmart to get the certificate while they started, she refused. I took Ginger to the Whitwood Mall location instead. They told me Sandra only had to call them to confirm it and that they were also open at 7:00 AM. They took Ginger on the spot, were very helpful and friendly. Ginger came out looking as cute as she should. We won't be coming back to the Washington Bl. location again. read more

5 stars EACH to Sandra & Michael in the salon! I've been taking my Luna to Sandra for 3 years and haven't had any issues, my dog does great and LOVES Sandra! Sandra always treats my dog like one of her very own which is very comforting! Because Sandra also supervises the academy, I would send my dog from time to time. At one of the academies my dog was groomed by Michael, at first I was a little nervous about it but my Luna loved him too! He had positive feedback on my dog which made me happy! Today I took my new baby into the salon, super excited for Sandra to meet my Sunny but it turns out Sandra was a little under the weather and would not be grooming Sunny after all. My mind was put at ease when I saw Michael and he said he would be grooming Sunny. Initially he told me he would be done in 2hrs, however he called me about 30m in and said it would take a little longer than expected as he wanted to take his time since Sunny was a little nervous. I was very happy with the communication because it definitely saved me the trip! Went to pick her up about 2.5/3hrs later and she looked GREAT!! Michael had such positive feedback on Sunny just like my Luna! You hear so many scary stories about how pets are treated by groomers but I'm so GRATEFUL that I've never had that experience with Sandra & Michael of Petsmart! As long as these two people are there, Petsmart in PR definitely has my business!!! read more

I always take my dog here for her bath and haircut with Priscilla I've never had a bad experience with Priscilla today I walked in to I believe Veronica was her name with an attitude telling me I had to reschedule because my dogs vaccine expired 2 days ago. I asked why why make me go all the way there to tell me that I'm person and not over the phone she completely ignored me and just kept asking want to reschedule I hate bad service or when they are so careless and just brush off your frustration them knowing they are wrong. I had to update my dogs rabies shot in order to book another grooming appointment. I don't live near this petsmart anymore but I loved it so much I was willing to drive 45 min to bring my dog here for his monthly grooming. As soon as I got out of the vets office I drove here to show them his new rabies certificate as well as book an appointment 4 days ahead of time on a Sunday morning. The lady helping me even gave me different times to choose from for an appointment. Here comes Sunday morning...we wake up early to get to Pico Rivera on time and come to find the lady never "wrote down my appointment". I called every petsmart around me and nobody had an opening for the Sunday I got turned away from this petsmart. This team needs to get it together. If she didn't write down my appointment then why all the questions about time & date? What was she doing? Staring into space? Petsmart employee wasted my time, gas, and I had to cancel some activities I planned while my dog should've been getting bathed and brushed. Instead we had to spend our Sunday morning trying to find a good place for my dog to get groomed. And I did..so no need to waste my time trying to book an appointment here anymore. Today was opening day! Of course everything was clean, neat and everybody was friendly. There is a banfield area, but no banfield as of yet. This PetSmart does not have a doggy day camp or pet hotel. Dear PetSmart, Words can not describe my gratitude and appreciation for your entire staff at the store, especially Tab in grooming. I adopted a dog at a city animal shelter at 6:30pm on a Tuesday night. This poor pup had clearly been overlooked and was in much need of love and more importantly a bath and a cut. She had leaves in her overhroI must have called a dozen petcos and petsmarts to see if any one would take me in last minute. I even pleaded asking for a Christmas miracle all to no avail. That is until I reached Tab at PetSmart in Pico Rivera. I explained to her my situation and expected a solid no. She stated although she had three other dogs she would be willing to help me. In shock, I asked her again to make sure I heard her correctly. She laughed and said "yes of course". Those three words were so amazing to hear and I was positively overwhelmed with joy and happiness. I made it to PetSmart and Tab was even more wonderful in person. She took my new pup from me and ensured me she was in good hands. Thank you team from the bottom of my heart. UPDATE: I loved the dog shelter so much I adopted another dog. He's a sweet and wonderful dog. My dog is no longer lonely while I'm at work. They play and nap together and even look alike! The ASPCA peeps are awesome but I can't keep going back to that shelter room. There is no more room at the inn! --- I love that this place has my dog and cat food. I buy the "good stuff" and used to go to Downey or Whittier but this Petsmart is much closer to home. It is smaller and doesn't have a Banfield or doggy hotel but it does the job. Most of the employees are friendly and always willing to help. And, my dog gets a lot of love while he's here! What I love most is the doggy adoption area. So far I have found that the prices overall are a lot better at PetSmart in comparison to Petco. I've liked all the PetSmart stores I have gone to, but this one is my go to. The staff has always been great. Very friendly and always find an answer to my questions. To tell you the truth, I have rarely received horrible service anywhere I go (not saying it doesn't happen), but maybe that's because my husband and I are nice people. For you that too often receive horrible service anywhere you go, then maybe it's time to look in the mirror. Am not a neglectful momma, just a flaky one. Even thou I have brought my pet to this location for the third time am finally yelping it. As you will see, my girl is a war warrior. For the love of an adoptive pet chihuahua she left the comfort of being an inside pet to an outside just to be with him. I took my pet once again to this facility and again the miracle of grooming her to perfection was done. Her ears where treated and care for, nails cut and the matted hair was trimmed to a beautiful style. She came out looking like her name. The staff are so sweet and caring, they look like individuals who are doing the job that they love doing. Other places like going down Whittier Blvd., charge a lot to groom my pet, the locations smell, personnel have attitude and the poor animals look as if they are washed with cold water. Poor babies. I've brought my dog to this establishment for the last 4-5 years, spending well over $120 on a bi monthly basis. I was even led to believe my dog was wanted there, with some groomers even knowing my dogs name, several times I have received feedback from the groomers that my dog can be a little fussy and even aggressive at times, however other times they tell me she does great. I just got home from picking up my dog only to find out she is no longer welcomed at their establishment. It was random and out of the blue, the groomer who informed me of this decision seemed confused and unsure of what she was saying explaining why. I don't know if the groomers took it upon themselves to ban my dog or if this is something that is allowed but it is extremely upsetting. IT IS YOUR JOB TO GROOM DOGS IF YOU CAN'T DO IT GET A NEW JOB. I am 100% sure not all dogs are happy and cooperative when it comes to grooming, does petsmart drop every dog that gets upset when being groomed. I am extremely disappointed in what I thought would be my dogs grooming salon for her entire life time. You've lost a loyal customer. read more

Prices are extremely to high. Not the best selection of fish. Customer service was lacking. When we walked up another couple had just come back from requesting help in the aquatic department from the cashiers. So we thought we would just wait for them. 15 min later, still no associate to the department. But that gave us enough time to notice the ridiculous prices on starter fish (neons, guppies, molly and platties). These fish should be priced low, they are starter fish, to help you establish your tank, for you to figure out if fish are for you! Tanks needed to be much cleaner. read more

I sent my husband earlier with my five year old to purchase a red eared turtle, the women assisting them was a young lady with glasses first she told them she would have someone over to help she came back and said oh never mind that person is on break and proceeds to " help." She was rude and rather than letting them purchase it she kept asking if they have all the proper supplies etc for the turtle and interrogating them even after he told her I have everything already and she kept throwing excuses on why he shouldn't adopt it. We understand we have to qualify the customer but there is a limit! I did all my research I have everything I just sent them to purchase his turtle she didn't have to do all that. Walked in this morning at just over 8:30am. I Would say greeted by but not really, more like yelled at by salon manager Priscilla that they were closed and to come back at 9am. To my understanding Roolene the are district manager allows and encourages the stores to sell to customers during these morning hours before opening to the public. I needed some dog food but since the "Salon Manager" Priscilla was on a power trip and rudely escorted us out, I had to go next door to the Walmart and purchased it there. I guess Petsmart pico Rivera is doing very well in sales and don't need our purchase. Shame on you and your shitty service. That Priscilla girl needs an attitude check. Btw- I wouldn't have written this had she politely explained that they could not sell us food and if we would patiently wait just 20 more minutes till they opened. After a trip to the nearby outlet mall, my boyfriend and I decided to check out this Petsmart since we were in the area. Overall, its a really nice and clean store. Not too great of a selection in the fish department, but better than some other Petsmarts I've been to. But I can't give this place a good rating because the employees here are downright rude. No friendly greeting when you walk in the store, more of glare in your direction as you pass by. My boyfriend and I were looking at the reptiles when we spotted a beautiful albino milk snake. Gorgeous coloring, we'd never seen one quite like it. So I took out my phone to snap a picture of it, just because I couldn't get over how pretty it was. Then, out of nowhere, this employee approaches me and goes "UM, you can't take photos in here. YEAH, its PROHIBITED." I said okay and put my phone in my pocket, expecting her to back off and leave us alone. But no, she just continued to stare at us. Talk about rude. So needless to say, we just left. What if I was interested in buying that milk snake? You just chased off customers that were about to spend pretty close to $75 there. But, I guess you just don't want the business. I'll gladly take my money to another Petsmart that respects customers. For having been to my two local Petsmarts at least 50 times and plenty of other Petsmarts in SoCal, this is definitely the first time I've heard that taking photos is prohibited.... read more

I was always hesitant to bring my pups in for grooming because of things I've seen on the news. Also, a previous time that I had taken them a groomer made a comment that now they have cameras because of some complaints that dogs were being hurt he also made it seem like it was no big deal because some dogs don't behave! Needless to say, it took me a while to bring them back and I was very nervous. But it seems that some things have changed. The bather (Christie) was so sweet to our pups and she even carried them in together. Last time they told me that they couldn't be carried in, and one of my dogs was so scared that they were pulling her so she pooped herself plus when I picked them up this time I heard the girl say my dogs name when she went to the back with such excitement that it made me feel good and that they were in good hands I'll continue to bring them as long as the same crew is there read more

I've been taking my 2.5 year old pug mix here to get his nails grinded ever since he was a puppy. He hates having his nails done no matter how often I "tug on his paws to get him used to having his paws touched." It's difficult to do them at home because he squirms so much, so I would always take him to the "professionals" to get it done because I figured they'd have better methods in restraining him. For 2 years I've taken him here and the groomers got it done. I'm thankful for that and those groomers are the only reason I didn't give a 1 Star. I went recently where a male groomer who I hadn't seen before was in charge of doing my dogs nails. I know my dog is fussy so I don't mind him being muzzled etc, do what you have to do. He takes him to the back which they usually do and when he comes out he tells me I shouldn't go to them anymore and I should take my dog to the vet to be sedated. The groomer tells me that my dog scratched and tried to bite (which although I didn't question the validity of that, why not muzzle him? Why not hold him differently?) and that it took 2 groomers to get his nails done. I'm not denying my dog is difficult, he always has been and probably always will be. My frustration is that I've been coming here for 2 years and their team always got it done, and I was grateful to them for that which is why I always came back. Now all of a sudden my dog is too much to handle and I should take him elsewhere? I asked if my dog is so violent, how was it done for the past 2 years then? And was told that nothing was written in the notes for my dog despite our most recent appointment being in June. If my dog was a real problem I would suspect that they would have written a note on his file on how to better handle him. What methods did the other groomers take that allowed them to get his nails done for 2 years? He said he would ask the other groomers, but his recommendation was to get my dog sedated at the vet. I was told that I could come back "one more time" to see how my dog reacts. My dog is going to react the same way every time! He hates it. Which is why I brought him to "groomers" in the first place! So no, thank you. I don't even feel comfortable returning to that store now. I'm better off restraining my dog on my own and doing his nails myself (thanks to google for the tips and amazon for the nail grinder). Guess I just needed one guy telling me he couldn't restrain a 17lb dog to finally make me research better restraint methods to do it myself, instead of spending $26 a month to get them done at PetSmart. P.S. You just need to hold your dog on its side. Tried it yesterday and it worked beautifully. Save your money, friends. read more

I was lied to by the employees at the store, who would want to go to a store that says on phone they have product and at company websites. Then at the store say they do not and never have sold that item. I think these employees should learn what they carry in the store especially knowing the person who wanted item came from far. I called on a tuesday and asked if they carried Instinct raw cat food, the person told me to hold and came back and told me yes, they carried it. So the next day I went all the way over there to get some and found out I was lied to, and I came from real far. I paid my friend for gas and we went. I could have went to Petco I knew they had it, but I decided to go there instead. The reason I wanted to start my 17 year old cat instinct was because she is not doing well, I took her to the vet they told me nothing was wrong through fecal exam. I searched the internet and at the instinct raw cat food and dog food site I found that other pets had the same problem as she and the vets said also nothing was wrong. Yet they said they changed their pets to raw and all the problems cleared up. The reason I'm so upset is it is hard for me to get a ride, and now I have to wait until next month to get a ride to change her to raw cat food, and mean while she is suffering. She has turned into a finicky eater and that is why she has these problems, you know the saying to many sudden changes in your dog or cats diet causes upset stomach and diarrhea. And she wants to eat different foods and very rarely cat food never the same item twice. She is so bad I try not to feed her and try and wait until she gets real hungry and she still will not stay on her cat food. Does anyone else have this problem? I have tried all kinds of pet social sites, the vet do not have nay answers.I know i will have to buy a months supply, but also I have to buy a little and try it. I can not take the bus cause I can not walk that good or I would. I have bought all kinds of things at vet websites for her problem to know avail. I just found out at the Instinct website where they sell raw cat food that I can pick up their product at Petsmart 8852 Washington Blvd Pico Rivera,CA So that means I was lied to when I got at the store, not when I called to confirm the day before I went to the store. I've always had a good experience in this store, but unfortunately had a not so pleasant one a couple of days ago. I went in since I was trying to Price match Blue Buffalo bags to Petco, which they were significantly lower at Petco. Well I go to the register and pay, the young gentlemen was going to PM for me, but he needed the key from the manager. Anyways this lady comes over and rudely says "show me the price". I politely showed her my phone and she took it from my HAND and started scrolling up and down adding stuff to my car or idk wtf she was doing. I didn't say anything, but this lady crossed the line. In my head I wanted to say something, but I just stayed calm. Anyways she said the PM price will be the price that was showing, PLUS $6 shipping! So petco had the food for $14.09 or cheaper don't remember and she wanted to add $6 which made it $20 and that will be the price. She's like "we actually have it cheaper " . I'm like why are you adding shipping charges? We're not shipping the food to any store or my house. She kept arguing that was her price and basically said take it or leave it. I was furious and decided to leave everything. I called customer service a few days later and the representative I was speaking too said I was correct, that he didn't understand why was she trying to add shipping charges to Petco price if I was purchasing in store. These people need to stop acting like the money is coming out of their pocket! Follow your price match and coupon policy!!!! You are just a manager, don't try to act all superior on me.
