We brought our pup Roxy here for her first spa day. Ken took some time to sit with her and get to know her. Most places won't take her because she is a chow but they were more than willing to give her a chance. She is the sweetest girl. First time I took both my Dobermans and they did amazing. Found them on line and a friend recommended this place. Both my dogs got flea bath nail clippings and butt and ear cleaning. I took my teacup Yorkie here and they called me that he was ready in like 30 min which I thought was weird because it normally takes 2 hours from what I know. When I dropped him off there were atleast 6 dogs In front of him . Theres no way they went through them all so quick. Still gave them the benefit of the doubt . Do NOT bring your Cat here! They totally screwed up my cat. They clipped his hair so terribly! He looks and feels awful. He's been walking around in embarrassment all week. I noticed he was licking his paws often, so I checked his nails and they were cut WAY too short. You could see the nail clipped up to his little nail nerve. He's been licking that paw for a couple days now. It obviously bothers him. They also missed a nail so he has a random long claw. The only nail that was saved from pain. They mentioned my cat was difficult but I would think a grooming place knows how to deal with animals. Just holding him by the neck immediately calms him. The drop off was also terrible. My appointment was at 9:30 am - I called at 9:30 to let them know I was running a few minutes late & they said the groomer was running a couple minutes late. All good. 2 Days later after visit, I have noticed my dog was limping without any additional activities. Both dogs and I were staying home while I was working online. Talking about the hair cut. I specified a "teddy bear" cut, turned out the cut was uneven throughout the face, legs and limbs. This makes me highly suspicious on other raving reviews which appeared were promoted when you look at what they were reviewing. On Nov 12, 2021, I took my dogs - Shihtzu/Poodle mix, 18 lbs, 5-1/2 year old - Shihtzu, 10lbs, one year old to this groomer, and was told to come back 3-1/2 hours after I dropped both them off. At the time I have heard one of the dogs was making (loud) struggling sounds in the tub, I was a bit unease when I heard that but I thought to myself that maybe the tub was metal and the dog was heavy. I tried to comfort myself that this groomer has a great reviews and my dog jumped up next to him (friendly) when I was conversing with him, looks like my dog is fine with him... They've called me right before the time I was scheduled to pick them up, told me they CANNOT groom my 18lbs Shihtzu/Poodle mix because she tried to bite them. They did groom my 10lbs Shihtzu for $50. Obviously, my 18lbs dog had pooped on herself before we walked out of their door because there's a trail of poop when she was rubbing herself on the floor right in front of the enterance right after I have done paying. On the 14th 2021, she was limping. After about 4 days, I started to noticed something was NOT right. I have called dozens vets to schedule appointment to see what's going on with her leg. This morning she had gone through the 3rd vet exam, and was confirmed for the 3rd time that my 18lbs shih/Poo had torn ACL (after the x-ray). When this NEW Vet took my dog for Xray, I told them my dog may not be comfortable without my presence (after the groomer experience). After they brought my dog out, I was told my dog was doing great and no problem. I am going to make a YouTube video to document and warn other dogs owners. ** As someone who is familiar with the affiliate and how the reviews system works, I am highly "doubtful" on the raving reviews without "raving" reasons. If you have experienced the same, please contact me, as this groomer needs to be investigated. WARNING: if your dog is sensitive to the strangers, please be very cautious because this groomer does NOT know how to handle a dog properly. I wasn't going to write a review about the visit, but the torn ACL is definitely a horror experience for a pet owner. I have called them on the 29th asked to speak to the owner, the man answered the call. I was very upset and asked what did they do to my dog. The man answers your dog bites and he did not touch her. I questioned him, if you did not touch her, why did she pooped on herself? He raised his voice and repeated: she bites and I did NOT touch her. Then hang up the phone. Examine your pet closely before you leave. I am SO happy I found Head to Trail Grooming in Monterey Park. First visit today as a walk-in for nail trims for my two dogs. They are not cooperative and I thought the groomer would be in for a challenge. Imagine my surprise when my first dog (Yorkie/Chihuahua mix) was in and out in less than 5 minutes with beautifully trimmed nails. Next up, my Schnauzer mix who can be a handful for groomers, vets, etc. Same thing - in and out in less than 5 minutes, perfect trimmed nails, only gave the groomer a little drama (and the groomer handled it like a pro), and no yelps of pain (I was sitting right there in the waiting area.) I am definitely going back for grooming, nail trims, and anything my fur babies need. Head to Tail is in the center area of this business plaza. Parking in any of the outside spaces can be challening so I suggest using the large, covered parking structure. Head to Tail isn't visible from the perimeter of the plaza but there is a green awning with business name over the entrance. Once you know where it is, easy. Super clean salon, well-run, and especially appreciate the secure entrance with a low, wrought iron fence between front door/parking lot and waiting area. No dogs escaping from here.
