I was lied to by the employees at the store, who would want to go to a store that says on phone they have product and at company websites. Then at the store say they do not and never have sold that item. I think these employees should learn what they carry in the store especially knowing the person who wanted item came from far. I called on a tuesday and asked if they carried Instinct raw cat food, the person told me to hold and came back and told me yes, they carried it. So the next day I went all the way over there to get some and found out I was lied to, and I came from real far. I paid my friend for gas and we went. I could have went to Petco I knew they had it, but I decided to go there instead. The reason I wanted to start my 17 year old cat instinct was because she is not doing well, I took her to the vet they told me nothing was wrong through fecal exam. I searched the internet and at the instinct raw cat food and dog food site I found that other pets had the same problem as she and the vets said also nothing was wrong. Yet they said they changed their pets to raw and all the problems cleared up. The reason I'm so upset is it is hard for me to get a ride, and now I have to wait until next month to get a ride to change her to raw cat food, and mean while she is suffering. She has turned into a finicky eater and that is why she has these problems, you know the saying to many sudden changes in your dog or cats diet causes upset stomach and diarrhea. And she wants to eat different foods and very rarely cat food never the same item twice. She is so bad I try not to feed her and try and wait until she gets real hungry and she still will not stay on her cat food. Does anyone else have this problem? I have tried all kinds of pet social sites, the vet do not have nay answers.I know i will have to buy a months supply, but also I have to buy a little and try it. I can not take the bus cause I can not walk that good or I would. I have bought all kinds of things at vet websites for her problem to know avail. I just found out at the Instinct website where they sell raw cat food that I can pick up their product at Petsmart 8852 Washington Blvd Pico Rivera,CA So that means I was lied to when I got at the store, not when I called to confirm the day before I went to the store. I've always had a good experience in this store, but unfortunately had a not so pleasant one a couple of days ago. I went in since I was trying to Price match Blue Buffalo bags to Petco, which they were significantly lower at Petco. Well I go to the register and pay, the young gentlemen was going to PM for me, but he needed the key from the manager. Anyways this lady comes over and rudely says "show me the price". I politely showed her my phone and she took it from my HAND and started scrolling up and down adding stuff to my car or idk wtf she was doing. I didn't say anything, but this lady crossed the line. In my head I wanted to say something, but I just stayed calm. Anyways she said the PM price will be the price that was showing, PLUS $6 shipping! So petco had the food for $14.09 or cheaper don't remember and she wanted to add $6 which made it $20 and that will be the price. She's like "we actually have it cheaper " . I'm like why are you adding shipping charges? We're not shipping the food to any store or my house. She kept arguing that was her price and basically said take it or leave it. I was furious and decided to leave everything. I called customer service a few days later and the representative I was speaking too said I was correct, that he didn't understand why was she trying to add shipping charges to Petco price if I was purchasing in store. These people need to stop acting like the money is coming out of their pocket! Follow your price match and coupon policy!!!! You are just a manager, don't try to act all superior on me. This place is amazing, the people that work in there are awesome!!! Real animal lovers. Thanks to(John) in Pico Rivera site for helping me it was one minute to closing time and I was a few away. I called in to ask if I can still go in for some stuff for my dog that, he was quick to say if u hurry I will let u in, and sure enough I ran to store from the parking lot and John was kind enough to let in he's store and let do some shopping for things I needed for my bearded Dragon and husky. We booked an appointment to have my German Shepherd groomed and for some reason they werent able to get him in because who ever booked the appointment had booked it under a haircut but it was suppose to be a bath and brush. So to make a long story short, we had to leave and bring him back another day. We were a lil upset and ended up taking a drive for nothing but before you know it, the groom manager Sandra Guerra had contacted us before we even called them. She was very professional and nice and took care of the issue. Because of her, I will definitely bring my dog back and recommend my friends and family to the Pico Rivera Petsmart grooming. I have fibromyalgia and cannot stand more than 3-4 minutes. This store on multiple occasions has not offered any accommodations for me to get my dogs nails done. Usually other groomers take both of my dogs back. Today I was told to wait15-20 minutes to have the first dog's nails done and then they would take the second dog back. Because I was in pain I asked if they could take both dogs back. I was told the cages were for grooming customers. Isn't getting nails done grooming? I was treated very poorly and was treated like a second class citizen. If you are handicapped, don't go to PetSmart for grooming. read more

They help you with what kind of food they should eat and how to make their stay with you pleasant. I truly recommend that you stop by and ADOPT a PET. I love my dog. He has made my family very happy. I usually come to this location as oppose to the whittwood mall only for convenience as it's a little closer to my house. They usually always take good care of my dog when getting his nails trimmed. My dog doesn't like coming into the store because he's a little scared of the process but once tied he does fine standing there. Yesterday's appointment was hard to watch. We now have to check in at the entrance of the store and my husband walked up with our dog to sign. My dog wanted out and was pulling to leave the store. Instead of allowing my husband to finish so he can walk him to the door, the girl put the leash on his neck and was strangling him as he tried to exit the store. My husband told her to hold on and asked her to stop pulling and walked inside with our leash. She eventually got him in and got the job done. I was standing by the entrance w our other dog watching. When she finished she brought him out and never apologized only said "he's done" She didn't seem to care and for that reason alone I'm never taking my dogs here again. read more

The service at my preferred Petsmart has been lacking a lot lately so I've been coming to this location more often now bcuz it's closer. I'm not sure if there's a new manager but the atmosphere, availability of items, and customer service are improving. The last few times I went in, they had everything I was looking for, the associates in the store offered assistance, and customer service was overall way better. Probably will continue coming to this location more often in the future considering it's closer to home than other locations and the service seems to be improving overall. read more

Took my puppy here for the first time yesterday for a basic grooming, she was perfectly okay no limping or anything when I dropped her off after being rushed to pick her up I find her limping so hurt that she would just drop herself to the floor to lick her paws crying from the pain. One lady tried to tell us it was allergies and another went on to say that her leg just fell asleep from being in the kennel for too long. My puppy has been in a kennel and that has never happened before. She was obviously in pain who knows if she was hit or what happened but that is not okay I am not satisfied with their service! My review is really based on the experience I had with one pet smart employee named Danielle. I needed puppy food and had no clue what to get, looking around for help I walked down s couple of isles and I see Danielle age greeted me and ask me if I needed help and I said yes, although Danielle was busy working on stuff in a different area of the store she quickly walked back to the dog food area and helped me pick out the right food for my pups, she was kind helpful and knowledgeable great customer service . I have been coming to this PetSmart for years. Got my boxer trained here and she is such a well behaved dog now people that people always ask what did I do to make her so obedient! And I recommend here. I never even complained when they said my other dog who has never snapped at anyone and has gotten hair cuts for 12 years somewhere else was asked to leave because he "bit" someone but they wouldn't show me where he "bit" them. Any who! I'm complaining about the fish there I went to another one in Pasadena today loved the employee so helpful and friendly. But I came here last night because I wanted another fish. Geezest Christ the employee was ass hole! So rude and annoying. I understand they know there job but when they don't want to sell me 3 fish that will get 1 inch big for a 10 gal is ridiculous! And I asked for the manager and omg a kid came to me and was giving me the stupidest face expression like I was a idiot man it ticked me off! So don't get your fish here! I remember Leslie because when I was there another customer went up to the manager and told him she was very good. Poor customer service policy. If you're in the middle of being checked out and the phone rings, the cashier must answer it and put YOU on hold while she handles the call. When she finally finishes and gets back to you, if the phone rings again, she will answer it and make you and everyone else in line continue to wait!!! How rude. You don't count while in the store. Phone calls have the priority, not store shoppers. I spend 500.00 a month on pet food but not at this customer unfriendly store anymore. I go to petco now. read more

I love this location! Cashiers always greet us and they always have awesome items on sale. I bought my beta fish, plants, tank, gravel, and accessories from pet smart and my fish has been extremely active and happy with his tank and accessories. There have been a couple of employees who have helped my boyfriend and I, but I forgot their names! But everyone who engaged us gave us helpful service! I come here about once or twice a week to see what they have on special with the pet perks card. I've saved a lot since I have signed up for one :) I have not brought my dogs in for grooming or anything, but I'm sure it will be a great experience! :) until then, five stars for making all of my walk ins welcomed :) read more

Absolutely horrific customer service. We have been taking our dog here for grooming for over 2.5 years. We took her yesterday and she acted out, so they called and asked us to pick her up and we can reschedule for tomorrow with their "salon manager" who has over 10 years experience and was the only one with an opening. Perfect! Minutes after her appt time the next day the "salon manager" Sandra called and said she wouldn't take her until after the holidays as our dog was kennel shy. But they set the appt the night before!?!?!? She told my husband I persisted on scheduling the appt?!?! And the appt was with her, and she would not do it! What kind of service is that??? Give a solution, figure it out- you scheduled the appointment!!!!!!! And if there was such a problem, they should have told us earlier!!!!!! read more

Took my 12y/o bby to get groomed with Genesis and she did an amazing job! She knew exactly what I wanted and was very patient in checking in my dog since she's very jumpy and a runner. I am a regular customer here at Pico Rivera Petsmart and so far I have no complaints. My weimaraner dog loves it here. He pees and I don't get hassled by the employees, I just get some wipes and clean it. The return policy is also awesome. I've returned dog food, stain remover, pee repellent and they always give me credit. The rest rooms are also clean and therefore they earn 5 starts. read more

I noticed that the petsmart in pico rivera did not have an item I was looking for so I went on their website to see if the item was there. The item said you can do a pick up so I went ahead and called in and as I did my call was transferred and I was put on hold for about 5 minutes with no clue of what was going on, I had to repeat my item to the person on the other line about 4 times before they started actually looking for it, I was put on hold for 5 more minutes and I was told that I was not to call petsmart and to ask for an item because at times like this it is better to walk. I personally care about my health and the health of others around me. Due to COVID-19 i rather do online pick ups but obviously this man did not understand that. He said he only helped me because the cashier said he would transfer me to get the help. I thought they get paid for this kind of stuff. It was ridiculous and laughable that I was told to not be "calling like this". I've noticed a few times that this petsmart isn't as good as others that I have been to. This experience made me dislike this petsmart a little more. Please be aware that when u sign for this job, costumer service is key and that includes having to deal with costumer that call about your items! I ended up going to a petsmart in Alhambra and they did a wonderful job with costumers and making sure to help out. I even asked if it was wrong for me to call and the worker said, " no we usually get calls like that EVERYDAY and it's our job to guide a costumer in the proper direction." read more

I have tried this location several times. Every time they disappoint me and my pet. First I took my Newfoundland to the groomers and she looked like all the did is brush her. So I took her to the Alhambra location I noticed what a big difference. My Newfoundland out come from the Alhambra location was so much better. Then on another occasion i tried to ask for help the guy told me he was busy yo to ask in the front was very rude about it. This time i went in for there sale buy a 30lb bag on select dog food and get 4 cans for free. So I went and looked for the sale tag. Found it and got my items. I went to register to pay befor i payed I asked did I get the 4 cans for free she said yes. After I looked at my reciept i seen I did not get the 4 cans for free. So I went back to ask about them. The female manager treated me as if I was ignorant. When I showered her the sale tag was in the wrong place and should not be there she just repeated her self again and walked away. So I went to return the 30lb bag and 4 cans of food. The manager came up to the register and ask are you returning the food because of the 4 cans? I just replied that it was more then just that. The girl at the register seemed a little up set at the return. I will not be coming to this location ever again. I will stick to Lakewood and Alhambra petsmart. Zero stars if possible! Be careful what you buy from this location. Short Story - They sold my SO a USED Scoop Free cat litter box system as if it was new, it got my cat sick and now I own a $158 pile of crap that isn't returnable since I used the used item and vet bills?! Thanks for showing how much you care about our pets PetSmart Pico Rivera! Long Story - I guess I should have questioned the integrity of the litter box since I did notice a few weird things going on with it but I also had some excuses that made sense and I didn't want to think that PetSmart would ok putting a used litter box back on the floor for sale (especially with the way feline diseases can be transferred, very risky). Before I opened the box I noticed that it was dinged and when I opened it I saw that the items inside were disheveled. I blamed this on the box being transported between 3 locations before I got it home. In the box I also noticed that a corner of the actual litter bag looked like it might have been cut off already but I thought that there was no way that this was already opened since I saw the receipt, my SO got this from PetSmart and they would never resell an item like this...? Then in the litter I noticed yellow crystals among the blue and what looked liked cardboard which was strange but I assumed that it had to be the way this stuff comes otherwise someone had funneled used litter back into the bag at some point and then packaged it all back up ?! but, once again, this was bought from PetSmart in Pico for full price, there's no way that could happen...right? Long story long, fast forward a week and my cat gets sick. I assume it is the new litter so I make an appt for her to see the vet and go to my local PetSmart to ask about the crystal litter and if any other cats have had issues with it. I find out from the very nice sales rep that he hasn't heard of any issues but also that there is absolutely no "yellow" crystals in the blue litter mix and it sounds like my SO had purchased a return that "accidentally" ended up back on the floor with no inspection and that he (sales rep) is so sad to hear that this has happened?! I now own a $158 pile of crap that I can't take back because I used it, even though it was already used, and it has made my cat sick + whatever the vet bills will be...Thanks for showing how much you care about our pets PetSmart Pico Rivera! read more

It really does make me feel uncomfortable giving such a bad review for a company I work for. This is not my store(I came here because it's closest to me ), I buy my fish from here and every single time I seems like the ladies there don't like to help out in the aquatics section. The very last time I was there with my friend and he was deciding which fish to buy and yes there where others ho needed help but he let the associate know she can help them while he decided and when she came back she asked "are you gonna want anymore fish?" And he replied while nervously laughing "yeah just trying to decide" and she said and I'm not exaggerating "omg are you serious?" Not even jokingly. She looked pissed ff the whole time . I would NEVER treat a pet parent like that at my store . Most of them look like they hate their jobs. I love helpin pet parents through their shopping experience and find it exciting . This store needs to hire people who are enthusiastic about helping pet parents . Seriously and I you're reading this don't bring your home to work or take your work home. I took my son here so we can get our tank water tested. Rubin helped us figure out what was wrong with our water & correct it. We also had to take advantage of the fact that the fishes were buy 4 get 2 free. We got a total of 7, including a frog & paid about 14$ after we used the stores 30% off coupon for this weekend. Rubin was knowledgeable & was able to tell my son why certain fish were a good match for the fish we were getting & the ones we had at home. Now we have a happy full tank of fish! read more

I am very dissapointed with this grooming place. The personal who help you there shouldnt be working in customer servive. There is a very rude girl who answers the phone and rudely cuts you off pretending not to understand what your saying. And talking about the groomer Teresa who pretends she loves your dogs and gets super fusturated if you are calling asking if your dog will be ready soon. And to top it of she purposely leaves your dog with and ugly hair cut not at all what i had told them to do! I am very angry at this place i will never bring my dog here again. My dog is super scared of her because oviously i went in and demanded her to cut my dogs hair the proper way! And the minute i step foot in there my dog was wanting to leave. Dogs are like humans they have feelings too and perseive who is not nice to them. Never knew this place existed in the back of Pets mart! Definitely one of the cleanest animal shelters I've seen. All the animals are so well taken care of. I was shocked at how good it smelled inside too! My daughter and I love coming in and visiting the dogs. read more
