This location had a little of everything and then anything. If you are looking to adopt kitties they have them to the right. If fish birds or reptiles are your thing to the left. They have a bunch of things for both cats and dogs. My only thing I'd probably say is to the managers/people who do the store layouts. Put the cat stuff with the cat adoption side not the dog stuff. It's kinda disheartening to have the cats where the dogs are at and you have to walk across the store to get cat things. I'm not a cat person but I feel for those who are. read more

Jarrod knows what he is talking about regarding dog diet. We have a dog that has some kind of allergy and needed help picking a better dogfood for the problem to be resolved. Jarrod helped us find a food that would stop the dog allergy but that would also not break the bank. He also told us he trains dogs and suggested some solutions to begging at the table for scraps. I like people that are good at customer service! Thanks Jarrod! read more

To Whom It May Concern, My name is Dr. Boyer Cross, and I am writing to formally document and express serious concerns regarding my family's adoption experience with Cat's World Rescue. Based on the facts outlined below, I cannot, in good faith or sound judgment, recommend this organization for the adoption or placement of any animal. In [month/year], my family adopted a four-month-old female orange tabby kitten through Cat's World Rescue at the PetSmart Metro location. At the time of adoption, the kitten was represented as healthy. However, from the very first day, we observed persistent watery eyes, which is a recognized symptom of a possible upper respiratory or infectious condition. At the adoption event, the representative of Cat's World Rescue applied an antibiotic ointment to the kitten's eye and stated that this treatment would resolve the issue. This representation gave the impression that the condition was minor and temporary. Relying on this assurance, we proceeded with the adoption and paid the associated fees. Over the following weeks, the kitten's condition did not improve. Instead, it worsened, causing the animal visible discomfort and distress. As responsible pet owners, we sought veterinary care at our own expense, resulting in significant costs for examinations, antibiotics, and prescription eye medications. We repeatedly attempted to contact the owner of Cat's World Rescue, who initially stated that she would assist with or partially reimburse the veterinary expenses due to the kitten's condition. However, after extensive delays, unreturned calls, and inconsistent communication, we were ultimately informed--after nearly one month--that we "should have taken the kitten to her preferred veterinarian" in order to receive discounted medication. This information was never disclosed at the time of adoption, nor was timely assistance provided when we sought help. Furthermore, the owner later referenced a seven-day limitation clause in the adoption paperwork, asserting that any health-related responsibility expired after that period. While such language may appear in the fine print, it is legally and ethically undermined by the fact that: The kitten exhibited symptoms at the time of adoption; A representative of Cat's World Rescue acknowledged and treated the condition on-site; and The organization accepted payment while knowingly placing a sick animal. Under these circumstances, the seven-day clause is nullified by prior knowledge and nondisclosure, and does not absolve the organization of responsibility. More recently, we have been advised that the prescribed medications may not be effective and that the kitten could be suffering from a potentially infectious condition, placing other animals at risk and requiring isolation. This raises serious concerns regarding negligence, failure to disclose known medical issues, and disregard for both animal welfare and adopter safety. Despite multiple attempts by both myself and my wife to resolve this matter professionally, Cat's World Rescue has ceased communication entirely and will no longer return our calls. Given the above, I am now in the process of seeking legal counsel and will be formally sharing our experience with PetSmart corporate management, as well as any retail partners or sponsors affiliated with Cat's World Rescue. Organizations that place animals through public retail spaces have a duty to uphold ethical standards that protect both animals and adopting families. This situation could have been resolved responsibly and humanely through reimbursement, transparency, and accountability. Unfortunately, that opportunity was declined. I submit this statement not out of malice, but out of a duty to inform others and to advocate for proper animal welfare practices. I respectfully request a prompt and substantive response addressing these concerns. Thank you for your time and attention. Sincerely, Dr. Boyer Cross, PhD read more

Brought in my daughter Kiki to get her a haircut and she's very dramatic and a little aggressive, so I want to thank Brandi Perez and her team for being very understanding and patient with Kiki. Brandi went all out to make sure she felt comfortable and safe so that the next time she wouldn't feel anxious. She walked Kiki around so that she would be calm and they even took photos of her to give to me after her haircut. Definitely recommend and I am now a loyal customer. read more

Came in to check on my dog after dropping him off at grooming 3 hours ago. Not only did Melinda or Marisa I forgot her name (with the long blond and black hair) gave me the worst attitude when I was just simply asking about how my dog was doing. But she notified me they haven't even started. She was snippy and rude. As if I was inconveniencing her. Then she was giving me attitude about how a lot of dogs are waiting. How is it my fault they overbooked and my dog still hasn't been seen. If she would have just been nice to me and told me that they were busy I wouldn't have had any problems. I understand businesses get busy. But I got my dog out of there and left. Mind you, not even a wash was done. I'm sorry but don't work here if you're gonna be nasty to paying customers. And Petsmart dont overbook if you're understaffed. read more

My roommate and I are regular customers at the PetSmart Metrocenter location and frequently use the salon and purchase supplies for our pets. On a recent visit, we came in to buy food and saw cats available for adoption. We were interested in adopting a specific cat. When we returned a couple of days later, that cat was no longer in the kennels. We politely approached a PetSmart employee to ask if the cat might be in the back and whether it would be possible to have a meet-and-greet with the cat, ourselves, and our small 10 lb dog to make sure the animals would be a good fit. From the beginning of the interaction, the employee was dismissive and unhelpful. She told us she did not know where the cats were and instructed us to call the number on the wall. Her tone, body language, and lack of willingness to assist made us feel unwelcome, even though we were being respectful and simply asking for information. After that, my roommate and I walked away and returned to the cat section to look at the other cats. The same employee then came walking up behind us. At that moment, our small dog barked briefly. Our dog has visited this location many times and has never barked at the cats before. He is always on a leash, is well-behaved, and has had positive interactions with other cats and dogs, including at this same PetSmart location. The employee then stood very close to us and stated that if our dog was "causing a disturbance to the cats," she would have to ask us to leave the store. The way she approached us felt confrontational and made us uncomfortable. Rather than escalate the situation, we chose to leave the store. We felt that we were being watched and followed after our initial interaction, which added to our discomfort. We were not being disruptive, and we were simply trying to ask about a potential adoption and browse the cats. We are loyal customers and spend a significant amount of money at this location. This experience was disappointing and has made us hesitant to return. I am requesting that this situation be reviewed, including camera footage if available, so this concern can be properly addressed. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. read more

I love this PetSMart location for their grooming! I've brought my puffer, Marsh (Marshmallow) over here now thrice and each times she's been not only as happy a puff as she can be, but she's so soft, of course super clean, nails filed, nicely brushed, and in a spectacular mood. She's usually a little more timid and scared for her grooms but since this was our third time, she seemed just excited this time around. Seems she's not only gotten used to it but also happy to come to this location in particular. Thank you so much to the wonderful pup helpers for their tenderness and care of my love puff, it makes me so happy to know that I can trust this location with my grooming needs. This one and another are equidistant from my home and now I know which one to choose for her. Each time they also prepared her for me with a little bow or a super cute bandana, and it just adds to the cuteness of her groom.l as she prances our joyfully to greet me! Thank you so much for the ease of using the app to schedule, the ease of receiving a text to reach me when she's finished, the ability to pay online before I arrive, the wonderful customer service each time I get there, and and smiles from drop off to pickup. The attention to detail of my sweet girl is top notch, thank you!! read more

Went in last night to grab my reptiles some food. My three year old grandson had a balloon tied to his arm. As I turned to grab something, his balloon untied and floated up into their high ceilings. The manager Wayne came out and noticed my grandson crying into my shirt. He went in the back and came out with five happy birthday balloons they had from an event. My grandson stopped crying and was so excited. Wayne went out of his way. read more

If you do order pickup near closing time, beware - they will leave you out there sitting and waiting until they close Then when you see them gather carts and lock the door and you jump out to inquire about your order they will tell you "sorry it's past closing and the system will only let us do that before". All while you can see your items and see them still checking other people out - and your app will still say they are bringing it to you as you sit there waiting for something that will never come. read more

Don't book any grooming services with Melinda. Not only was my dog in there for almost 6 hours, but Melina was super rude. I picked my dog up from his haircut and wash and he was bleeding, when i went back to say something about it she said "that happens" in no world should your dog come out bleeding. if you don't care about people's dogs then get a new job‍. read more

This is a very clean and stocked store. The cats always have clean boxes and have food. On the other hand, the aquatic tanks could use more attention. There are usually many dead betas, frogs, and others that the other fish in the tank would feed on the dead animal. The customer service is fast and helpful. I needed assistance getting the perfect tree for my first cat, and he loves the one we chose! read more

Went in and walked over to the cricket/aquarium area. Pushed the little button for assistance and two mins later a girl that I chose not to interrupt that was stocking shelves in the area I needed assistance In walked over and cleared the button/page and told me someone will be with me and she went back to what she was doing. Well I never got any assistance. So I bought some stuff for my bearded dragon ((not what I went for)) and went to the register. The girl that didn't help me got up and opened the second register. Not sure why she couldn't help me but was able to help check me out at the register. Just overall disappointed at the lack of customer service. read more

Took my goldendoodle in for a bath and full hair cut. He looked good when I picked him up but with further inspection when I got home I found many things wrong. His paw pads weren't shaved completely, he was very patchy and I found many clipper burns on his body. Not once did the groomer mention that there would be a possibility of clipper burns (which I would expect them to know if they had to come close to his skin) I will NEVER take my dog back to Petsmart. I would give them ZERO stars. Trust me, do not take your pet here. read more

Don't waste your time. I received a call two or three weeks ago stating Petsmart Metrocenter is doing a 35% off grooming special for Labradors. When I arrived, grooming was closed. I swore I would never go back after the first time this happened about 6 months ago, but I thought I would give them another chance, since I stated I could get there around 6 or 6:30 pm. Their posted closing hour is 7 pm today. This is the second time I have wasted by time and gas for nothing with this place. It's a bad practice. My shop closes at 5 and we do not lock the doors until 5. We know the frustration of hurrying to get somewhere, only to find they have locked up before their posted closing time. read more

Terrible grooming.. I truly wish I had taken a photo before having her attempt to fix it.... I took my 11 pound Pekingese in a little earlier than her scheduled 10:30 appointment. Although I was early it took 5.5 hours!! To wash and cut her hair where as any other location we have been to in multiple different locations and states they have never taken longer than 3 with 1.5 being the longest. I then get my dog back and they have buried her tail!! I always ask for a trim if her tail and never have I gotten back to see 3 to 4 layers going up her tail and the tip completely cut off. SLOPPY WORK AND IM PISSED THAT I JUST SPENT MY MONEY HERE. She has never had such a consistently uneven haircut which took a total of 6 hours! read more

I adopted a cat on 12/31/2023 from petsmart. My paperwork says Cats World Rescue (623-216-5469). I did not receive a copy of the vaccination record even though I paid $125 for the cat. I was told to call Carol at Cats World. I have called and emailed multiple times with no result. She told me she would leave the paperwork at Petsmart. I went there twice when she said it would be there. Now she will not even answer my phone calls. This is an irresponsible money making scam. The sign at the adoption center says Robinhood, but my paperwork says Cat's World. I have adopted cats in the past from petsmart with no problem, I will never adopt from petsmart again. read more

Got the holiday package for my boy. Was told it would take 3-4 hours. Around 5 hours we called and they said they were just getting to him. Then called us 10 minutes later to tell us he was done. When we picked him up they said they didn't charge us the full amount cause it didn't come out the way they wanted. He had half a haircut. Didn't even get the holiday shampoo and HIs ears were still crusty. When we got him home he drank water like crazy. So I assume in 5 hours he didn't even get water. GO TO PETCO ACROSS THE STREET INSTEAD We went in about 8 pm on a Tuesday (they don't close until 9) & there were other customers checking out. We shopped for about 12 minutes and got about $100 worth of product. This young dark blonde girl at the register audibly said, "FINALLY". And wouldn't make eye contact, say anything or even crack anything other than an annoyed frown. I even apologized smiled and told her to have a good night. She just rolled her eyes... I won't be back & neither will anyone I know. read more

Love this store and the workers here! Recently adopted a puppy and have been able to find everything I need for him in here. They have everything for your pet that you may need. They have mostly stuff for cats and dogs, but also small pets like guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, birds and fish. This reviews is mainly for the grooming part of the store. I booked online a puppy bath appointment for my puppy and had it for 9 am in the morning. Came a few minutes early, which was good since I had to provide his rabies certificate to them. They already had a couple puppies up on the tables getting their haircuts done. Was told that he would be ready for pick up within 2-3 hours since there was 2 puppies ahead of him. How can there be two puppies ahead of him if I specifically made his appointment at a certain time? Anyways, that messed up my plans for the morning, but no biggie. Came back in exactly two hour and they were just finishing up with him. Since I was a new customer, I was able to use a coupon for $10 off any bath or grooming service. This was amazing!! Since there was no code for the $10 off, the manager came out and put it into the system no problem. So, what would've cost $15.99 only cost me $5.99!! How awesome was that? Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience with the grooming department. The lady Mia was the one that took care of my puppy. She was super friendly and very good with my puppy. He however loves everyone, so it wasn't surprising that he was giving her lots of love. Would definitely use this service again and recommend it to other people who need their pup washed and brushed. read more

Love this location. The management here went above and beyond to make sure my pet and I were taken care of after a little mishap in their grooming salon. I believe their names are Wayne, Chris and and the salon manager Robin! I was mostly communicating with Wayne but when I went in, Chris was the manager on duty and although he didn't have any idea about the situation, he took care of it in the end. Customer service here is more than just amazing. And you can tell they really care about their customers and their pets. Highly recommend this location. read more

This location needs to work on hiring competent workers in the grooming department. Yoshi clearly doesn't have computer literacy and lacked customer service skills. Find a local groomer or go to a different location. read more

We personally did not have a good experience with the puppy training. Not enough time was spent on instructing the owners. I felt like he preferred certain breeds. He would give quick instruction at the end and sometimes he would just say try at home and come back doing it. I need more than that. Communication problem. Frustrating the owner by not properly communicating the correct intent only frustrates the puppy. Then there's no point, unfortunately a big waste of time. Only plus side is you can get a refund if your unhappy and only half way through this I'm unhappy. That's why I gave a 2 star review. The instructor is critical of the owners when really it's his teaching methods. So....We will try somewhere else with someone who teaches the same thing but communicates the necessary methods effectively. read more

Less then one star if possible! The worse grooming place! I have been taking my dog here forever but yoshi doesn't know my dog didn't even introduce herself to my dog and just grabbed him!! of course he is going to snap at you idiot ur just grabbing him and his a little shih tzu!! and she turns the supervisor "what's our policy on dog biting" girl you don't know your own policy? Who taught you to just grab a dog aggressively! After this incident they claimed they couldn't groom my Drake all because Yoshi doesn't know how to introduce herself to dogs and just grabs them like she has no common sense. Next time don't call me asking me to "where is Drake, why haven't we seen him" well because you guys don't like to do your job! Called today about the availability of Frontline for Cats. Was told by a very snippy woman that they would not sell it to me unless I brought the cat in for an exam. I explained that I had just left the vet who had written me an Rx for Frontline. She said it didn't matter, they needed me to pay for another exam for my cat. I called the Petco right across Peoria. They said no Rx is even needed for Frontline, let alone an exam. Bought the Frontline there. They even matched the online (not the generic but the real stuff) price with my printout. read more

They were running a Buy 1 Get 1 50% off bird food sale, but they only had 1 bag in stock. Naturally, I expected them to let me have the 1 bag for 25% off which is what I would have paid for each bag if they had enough quantity in stock to honor the sale. I approached the counter and the cashier talked to the manager through some sort of mic pinned to her shirt. The manager said, "no you can't buy 1 get 1 half off as there is only one" Right, no kidding, so how about that 25% off discount which is mathematically fair? "No, see, we only have the one so it's the full price". Okay, I told her I would go across the street to Petco. Really poor customer service. read more

I've heard bad things about Petsmart. And instead of calling my normal groomers I called Petsmart to see if it would be more cost efficient to go there. I have two pugs and when I was making my appointment I was informed that only one dog would be done at a time, what they failed to tell me was to only bring in ONE dog at a time. The issue is I'm disabled, and have a hard time moving around a lot. That's why I got "lap dogs". So I get there with both of my dogs, and I'm told that the person is rinsing off a dog and she would be right out with me. I stood there for a while, like 5+ mins, While multiple other groomers stood there and did not acknowledge that I was even there. There really isnt a price difference between Petsmart and Petco, but from now on I know that my babies can be dropped of together and get done in a reasonable amount of time. read more

This PetSmart... I only go since it is on the way home from work. The PetSmart is by a now defunct Bed, Bath and Beyond. The selection is just so-so. When one is ready to leave and check out, there are never adequate cashiers. I was there yesterday, and the line was nine customers deep. Not one employee came to help the poor chap! Not only that, then the one cashier was in a rather pissy mood. I requested a price check on something that was for sure on clearance, and he argued with me and was rude about it. He was rather snappy - well the register says it's $1.47!! He did not even bother requesting a price check. Any other store, one could request a price check. The parking lot does have a cart corral, which some PetSmarts do not have. This is fairly new, as about two years ago, this location did not have this. read more
