We love this place.. Lola loves coming here and meeting her friends. Staff is super nice at the pets hotel. When we are away I know she is in good hands. Thanks petsmart. read more

This place is close to the house and the workers at the pet hospital are very friendly. On the other hand the younger workers that walk around aren't that helpful and will walk by you and not ask if you need help or greet you read more

While the younger staff are very nice and polite, the older staff are very rude and it felt very tense at the end of our visit during checkout. The lady checking us out was very impatient with us even though there was only one other person behind us and we were very clearly trying to handle our puppy as well as put things on the counter. No offer to help either. I'd rather stick with the Santa Ana or Garden Grove locations, even if they're a little farther out. Just because you're having a bad day doesnt mean you get to treat your customers poorly! read more

Brian at petsmart is awesome ! Very knowledgeable and patient. Guided me through the whole process of buying a fish and was patient will all my 267 questions ! :) Give this man a raise!!! read more

I made an appointment for my dog and this is the first time my dog had to have an assessment prior to getting service. My dog was very nervous and they proceeded to decline service because he was high risk. I've told them this is how he is but always cooperated for the groomers and well majored and just nervous. Is this a new policy or only store specific because while I was making appointment online I don't recall seeing anything online stating anything about this process and refusal of service, especially since I've been going on and off for 5 years. This store will never get my business again. If my pet is nervous to go to the vet they don't refuse service...so ridiculous and now after waiting a week I need to make alternate plans to have my dog taken care of. read more

I boarded my 4 dogs at Petsmart Village Way for 3 days and all of them came down with severe kennel cough. Be cautious if you are boarding your animals as I'm certain this is one of the busiest weekends due to the holiday and crowded unsanitary conditions are a cause of kennel cough. Yes!!! I had them all vaccinated as a requirement for their stay. Due to the poor ventilation and boarding conditions at Petsmart, they are now confined to my backyard. They have gotten no sleep and they are constantly coughing to the point of retching stomach bile. When I spoke with the manager Amber, she suggested that I take them (each one) to the vet and get them treated immediately; however she refuse to reimburse me a dime; even the cost of the antibiotics. Kennel cough can be fatal and in dogs with strong immune systems, symptoms can last months. I feel terrible for my dogs and I feel like I have been victimized by Petsmart. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before I came back here. I brought my dog Jack in for grooming two weeks ago. I thought it was strange they were done so quick but they said he had been fine. I noticed when we got home that he was bleeding on his underside, they had cut him with the razor. His behind was cut extremely short and very un even. I realized they cut off of mole he had by his mouth. I called and complained (before noticing the mole removal) and they had Banfield check him out at no cost. They gave me medicine for his cut but still I would not take any pets back there. Especially seeing others have had similar issues. read more

This review is for the PetSmart Pet Hotel*** I would give the Pet Hotel zero stars if possible. My experience started out great... I got a recommendation from my mom. She had taken her 10yr old doxie and had a great experience at doggy day camp and staying overnight. My mom had asked for a price list for me since I was working and explained that I had a 17 yr old doxie and a 1 yr old cat and would like them both to be boarded for 3 nights. They sent her home with the list. Next time my mom's dog went to doggy day camp I went along to set up in person for my animals to be boarded. I talked to the gal and explained about my one year old cat, and 17 yr old doxie who has a heart condition and just likes to eat and sleep. She said it was no problem and that she would call their vet to make sure they were up to date on their vaccines. We left and she called me back within 30 minutes stating that my 17 yr old dog was cleared to come but my cat was not because she needed her last booster. I understood and thanked her and had my parents watch her instead. When I went to drop off my 17 yr old doxie I came with her food, bed, and medication for her heart condition. I happily filled out all of their paper work and specifically wrote down her heart condition and age. Wrote on them in the comments section: JUST LIKES TO SLEEP AND EAT, HAS NO INTEREST IN PLAYING. I made sure to tell them her age multiple times. Was asked if she would like to play with the other dogs and I said "no she just likes to sleep and eat, she's an old gal and isn't really interested in playing anymore." They said that was fine and that they would make her comfortable. I asked them if I could extend her stay to 6 nights instead of 3, and they said no problem. Everything seemed fine. Didn't receive any phone calls while she was boarded. I picked her up right at 12pm. The pet hotel staff was very friendly. The male associate went back to get my dog and her things. The female associate confirmed the bill with me and went back to double check that my doxie had received her exit bath (which I appreciated). She came back and said that she did receive her bath and I happily settled the bill, then she told me that they had a note that she needed to read to me. I jokingly said "uh oh, what did she do now?" And she said nothing that she was a sweetheart and she was very sweet to the associates, she didn't nip or bite BUT, (and it's a BIG one!) SHE IS NO LONGER ALLOWED BACK TO THE PET HOTEL! I asked why and the female associate told me that BECAUSE OF HER AGE (which I had told them MULTIPLE TIMES!) she was no longer welcome because of the risk of her getting stressed out! That they are only associates and basically that if something happens they don't want the blame. She also told me there were OTHER places that would board her BUT NOT PETSMART PET HOTEL. I was NEVER informed of ANY AGE LIMIT OR ANY POLICIES THAT RESTRICTS DOGS OR CATS BY AGE. I am still SHOCKED and very UPSET. I'm obviously not expecting the associates to perform doggy surgery, if she happened to pass away, I would not have blamed petsmart, I understand life is unexpected and things happen. The most I would expect from them is the doggy Heimlich. But not being asked to NEVER COME BACK. If I had known previously I would have been HAPPY to take my business elsewhere. Which I now am! I will now have my animals boarded at The Pet Hospital on Chapman Ave in Orange, where they accept my animals regardless of age AND HAVE BETTER PRICES! read more

I love bringing my dog Nixon to Day care. I've never worried about him because the staff is so loving to him and it makes me feel comfortable. read more

Petsmart is a typical large pet store. They have a lot of varieties of items although in my opinion most are overpriced. They offer items for pets that are more unusual such as turtles snakes lizards etc. I believe they have a good variety of items varying kinds of pets, they offer dog training, basic grooming, and on the weekends pet adoptions. I believe that while most of the employees seem to be friendly, a lot of them do not have any real knowledge of pets. When we go to buy fish there occasionally, they cannot tell you much about the fish or how to care for them. If you're looking for higher quality items for your pets this place will probably have it and they are located all over so it is easily accessible. read more

I hate Banfield, and thus choose to shop elsewhere than Pet Smart. But I needed a product that is not sold at most grocery stores. I walked in and the cashier greeted me. I could not find the product and asked a sales associate where it was located. She was in the process of training a new worker, and was very cordial even though I interrupted her conversation. She even walked me over to the isle it was located at. She apologized for not having a large selection of cat toys. When done, the cashier was very nice and made sure I found everthing I needed. The store was clean, the animals in boarding and the play room looked like they were having fun playing. The associate supervising the dogs were playing with them, and the dogs seemed to be having fun. They had rescue kitties, and their kitty condos are very well kept. I will be shopping there in the future read more

This is by far the best Petsmart I've been to, everyone is always nice when you walk in, you get a "hello, welcome to Petsmart." I love coming here and shopping for my dogs. Sometimes I bring one of them but other times not and I'm always having a Petsmart employee ask me "hello, how are you and what brings you in today?" They are very much on top of their game and have a lot of insight on their foods. I won't be going to any other store ever again this is my go to store. Thanks for finally opening in orange it's about time haha. Update, Yesterday (8/20) I went into the store and a cashier by the name of Michael was amazing, he was very knowledgeable on the dog foods and didn't want to up sell me on the food. He recommended royal-cann for my dogs and I tried it and sure enough they love it. To any store managers or to Michael who sees this keep up the great work he's doing a amazing job. I can't wait to come back in and say hi and see him again to give him a update on my dogs and how much they loved the food. read more

This petsmart has really friendly store employees. I am always greeted when I come through the door and generally run into at least one other associate while I'm doing my quick spin through the store who will ask if I need any help. My trio of dogs are on a prescription diet which they carry at this location and we have to get an rx card every six months through the banfield at the back of the store by bringing an rx from our vet. It's always a quick process (no cost) and when I thought the store was low on our desired food the other day the sales associate checked and grabbed a case from the back that had just arrived in. They always seem pretty well stocked on everything. I can usually run in and out in a matter of minutes which I appreciate. My dogs and I give it two paws up! read more

I shop at this particular store monthly as my dog is on prescription dogfood. My dogs vet is not a Banfield vet however; the prescription is valid and enables me to purchase her food at any authorized store. I verified this with management beforehand. This morning I went in to get my dogs monthly case of ID dogfood. When I went to pay for it.. the cashier (who appeared very young 18 - 20 ish) I placed the Dr.s prescription on the countertop as I always do. She picks it up and says to me "Unfortunately I cant sell this to you, its not for Bandfield" I said "what??" She then says to me, I need to see a card from the doctor.... I then told her that's incorrect because I'm in this store monthly for this and verified this over the phone and with a manager when I first started purchasing it at the store. She then says to me. "Oh well, okay." Kinda snotty. She rang it up, I paid, I said thank you... she wouldn't acknowledge me and said nothing. She was incredibly rude. I sure hope she doesn't last long there because I have never felt more disrespected in that store. Typically everyone is very pleasant. What a shame. Its people like her that ruin it for others. read more

Grooming told me I need proof of vaccines. Got them and they still couldn't cut my dogs nails. Waste of time they should just say the have breed restrictions. She is a pitbull who is friendly. Their excuse she moves too much. Lies I've taken her to other places and in less than 5 minutes she's done. read more

I took my golden doodle, Tucker, to this location for the first time. He usually has an issue with grooming but Victoria did a fabulous job! She was able to keep his curly hair not too short and cut his hair in a cute style. All of the staff were friendly too. I will be coming back! Thank you Victoria! read more

Salon associate Barbara cut my dog's quick. She apologized but said my dog was wiggly. I was watching the whole time and he only became apprehensive after she cut his quick. I did not like how she didn't just own up her mistake and she blames my dogs behavior for her actions. Sara the manager was also not helpful. She explained this could happen if you don't get your dog's nails cut regularly however my dog's nails were cut two weeks ago. read more

The staff at the PetsHotel at Petsmart in Orange (Village Way location) are great! I had our puppy Bella and our 2 kittens Spicoli and Emmy stay there. The staff loved on them showed me their kennels and kitty cottages. The Hotel is super clean and it looks like the animals are happy that are staying there. The dog kennels are actual rooms and each room has a TV to keep them company. If needed again, I will for sure bring my babies back here! read more

This is for their grooming. Don't bring your dog here. I made an appointment and brought my dog in to be groomed. The basics. I normally bathe my dog on my own but I'm pregnant and it's not an easy task at the moment. I have a family member who has had her dog groomed here and recommended it and let's be honest the price wasn't bad for my large breed dog. The lady asked me a few questions then slipped the collar on my dog and proceeded to take him to the back and put him in a crate. Clearly my dog was not okay with this as she proceeded to try and force and manhandle my 110 lb dog. He is not aggressive and is well trained. He never nipped, growled or barked at the lady as she was trying to force him in the crate. She was rough with him. It made me uncomfortable. Clearly when she couldn't get him in she brought him back out saying we can't groom him here he is going to hurt himself! He is getting too stressed! He has to be able to go into a crate. Really?! You are supposed to be grooming my dog not manhandling him and attempting to force him into a space he is clearly uncomfortable with. Mind you I was on time for my scheduled appointment so he shouldn't have needed to be placed in a crate. They are not caring with your pets and to be honest I'm glad I didn't end up leaving him cause I fear for the way they would have treated my beloved family member outside of my presence. Stay far away. What was I thinking?! Ugh read more

I have taken my puppy, Roxy, here several times for doggie day care. WOW! The staff remembers her name, what she likes, how she plays, etc. Show her as much attention as I show her so I know she isn't starved for interaction. Even when I called to check up on her the first few times she went to doggie daycare, the staff was so nice and gave me a play by play. My husband and I bought a 10 doggie daycare pass that Petsmart sells for 10% off. Our Chesapeake Bay Retriever is 20 weeks and requires a lot of activity, this gets the job done! Great price too! Can drop off as early as 7AM and pick up late too if you're in a pinch. read more

Karen was very friendly and extremely helpful! She made sure we had the right crate for our puppy and even gave us some really useful tips on how to properly crate train him. We love this location! read more

My dog loves the doggie day camp! Comes back home happy and tired... we highly recommend this if you have an active breed!

First time getting our dog groomed here today and we won't be back. Girl at the counter when we made our appointment gave one price and when we came back for the appointment, the price was $12 more. Since we already brought the dog in, we decided to go ahead. When we were called that the dog was ready, we came to pick her up within 15 minutes. When they brought her out, she was still very damp all over. They took her back to finish drying her. When they brought her back out again, we could tell the fur on her paws had not been trimmed and her nails were not done. All of which were already paid for and to be included. Again they took her back and did those items. No way of knowing if the other items we paid for were actually done. Given the price issue and the lack of quality of service, we will find another groomer. read more

Recently saw a chameleon there with his eyes stuck closed. When I looked closer, i noticed that the young chameleon was in their smallest cage with only a water bowl for water. chameleons DO NOT use water bowls. There was also no humidity or water dripper, leaving him with no water. I explained to the staff that he needs moisture and a trip to the vet, but i ended up coming back later to purchase him because i was so worried. we recently lost our chameleon, who was 8 years old, so we had a full setup already. in the 24 hours that i've had him, his eyes have opened fully and have not gotten stuck, simply because he has moisture and a proper habit. i am not trying to say anything bad about the store or staff, as i am a regular customer, but i am posting to simply inform headquarters that they aren't caring for their pets properly. I understand that the staff was following the books, but seemingly, the books are wrong. read more

I'm not sure what all these less than 5 stars reviews are about. They were all super sweet when I took my 2 year old doggo for grooming. They were super attentive and ran to my dog you could tell they genuinely loved working there and the dogs. I usually go to Petco on Katella but after watching how they were with my Stella I could never take her back. I did the platinum service which took 3 hours so gave me enough time to run other errands, they called me on the dot to let me know she was ready. They helped me size a new harness for her and gave her lots of belly rubs. The only weird thing is they made me pay before I could get my dog so I did have to grab the food and harness before hand because I didn't want to make a second transaction. The downfall on that is I had to guess the size which surprise I was off and ended having to make an exchange once I had her but, they were quick with opening another register to help me make it easier. I'm most definitely making this our spot! read more

Alexis went above and beyond for my 2 dogs Dolce and Phoenix. Great customer service and attentive. Thank you Alexis!

Great Customer Service from Managers at this Location and the one in Fullerton! We bought a fancy golffish that didn't make it past 2 days and unfortunately, he was for my little one who noticed right away he wasn't in his tank the next morning. I called petsmart (before opening hours ) and a manager helped out tremendously. They did not have another shipment of the exact same fish so the Fullerton location manager also jumped in to help match our original fish ( so our little one didn't notice it was a different color) lol trick played off very well with the help of these locations. I wrote a review to show that these managers cared and understood a customers concern and they willingly helped resolve the problem with extra commentary about my little not suspecting a thing. This meant the world to me! Sometimes it's better to trust your gut over following Policy. Thank You PetSmart! Now our little Buddy fish is happier than ever and our daughter Loves Him! read more
