The one I have is good. However, I was hoping to find one with more padding. I found just that! They have crate pads that are super thick!!! That is what my puppy needs. It's a SCAM -- you better run. I came in for the so-called "free consultation," but nothing is free. My dog had a very obvious urethral prolapse. Instead of being upfront and telling me he needed a specialist, they ran pointless tests and pressured me into their wellness plan. Without it, they said I'd owe $1,800+. With it, the bill dropped to about $370-$380. Now I'm locked in a 12-month contract I can't afford, and my dog STILL needs surgery that will cost $1,500-$3,000. The wellness plan doesn't cover emergencies or surgeries, and even if your dog dies, you'll still be stuck paying. Read the fine print. On paper, the plan looks good, but in reality it's a trap that does nothing to fix the problem your pet came in for. Banfield will not cancel your plan all they'll do is stop the auto-renewal next year. You're trapped. File complaints with the Better Business Bureau and your state veterinary board. This company preys on vulnerable pet owners. Do NOT trust them. I brought him to 3 different vets... I will not stop until I get justice for my dog and me read more

Disappointed with the condition our dog was in, when we brought her home . Our dog was smelling of poop & urine as if she was a homeless dog or a caged animal at a shelter. She smelled as if other dogs were literally urinating on her from head to toe. Her personality reflected trauma like never before and... she has been at this same place many times but this time was the very worst at Petsmart Hotel/pet hotel! THERE MUST BE A REASON PETSMART NO LONGER ALLOWS PET OWNERS TO GLANCE THE BACK AREA/ SLEEPING QUARTERS, LIKE THEY PREVIOUSLY ALLOWED (EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE WHERE THEIR BABIES WILL BE KEPT. This is our second trip to the grooming salon at this location. We have two Goldens which needed full bath and grooming with deshedding etc because of the hot summer. One of my dogs gets really nervous and has never allowed any groomer to grind his nails. Well that is until today. Stephanie got it done and was so kind and caring. FISH REVIEW ONLY We have a small 15 gallon fish tank in our house and we never buy fish from Petsmart, we buy from a mom and pop place in Anaheim. But last December our plecostomus (algae eater) died so I went to this Petsmart to buy a new one. In January I found a snail in my tank. I thought that was freakin bizarre, I have had tanks my ENTIRE life and never had a random snail pop up. I sent a pic to my friend and she told me they are very invasive and I needed to get rid of it. Googling showed me this was a Malaysian Trumpet Snail. I took it out. Then I saw another one. Then another one. I started to see two or three at a time. I kept removing them. Then they died off, I wouldn't see them at all, or just see one or two. No big deal. Lately I have seen more than usual, just remove and move on. Today we deep cleaned the tank and we agitated the rocks. Within an hour there were over 30 snails on the glass. I removed them. Then an hour later, about 30 more. This went on all day. I took all the decor out and soaked them in scalding hot water to kill any eggs. I had 6 more snails in my sink when I took it all out! Overall, today I removed at least 90 snails from my tank that must have been living in the rocks at the bottom. I am 100% convinced these snails came from the pleco I bought here. I had not added anything new to my tank in over 6 months. Added the pleco and now my tank is infested with snails that are breeding. We switch out the water about every 3 months, but only deep clean two - three times a year. Today was the first time we did a deep cleaning this year, last time was right before we bought the pleco, so Petsmart pleco is the culprit. There was nothing visible in the bag I came home with, so maybe there was a baby snail attached to it or there were eggs in the bag. I will never buy another fish from Petsmart again. read more

I had the worst experience of my life and at this petsmart. I called in the afternoon for an appointment for the grooming salon inside the Petsmart store. The lady who answered the phone told me appointment is not necessary since that is not much of traffic today. About after an hour and a half we went to the location and we were told by a rude lady called Natasha that sorry it's Christmas Eve and we are not taking walk-ins. I told them very clearly that we were told that you do not need an appointment today. Otherwise we always take an appointment before coming for any sort of a grooming job and we have been a customer with petsmart for almost 12 years. That lady Natasha literally raised her voice first, which obviously made me very upset since she implied that I was lying. When I showed the manager Dylan the call logs on my phone he actually offered to get it done. It was a simple nail clipping job and they made all such a fuss! But then there was this girl Alexis, who refused to touch my dog, saying that she looks anxious. When I got upset with that lady Alexis, Dylan also raised his voice supporting her staff. At this point of time me and my partner simply walked out of that location and went to the main store and spoke to the manager. Apparently he was dealing with one more complaint of a similar nature. Even he refused to sort this out. He said you can take it up wherever you want to. This is all a farce and a comedy show they are running at this location. We have never been treated, so rudely was this attitude racist? I don't know. But I am certainly going to take this up with their managers at the corporate level. This is ridiculous behavior on the part of petsmart the way they treat their customers! I am never ever stepping into this store again. And I doubt anyone is going to look into this issue or even bother?!! read more

I've been taking Tika here for a while, she used to be groomed by Gretchen, who was wonderful, but not available. Today when I went to pick her up, she was still very wet. Her nails were trimmed inadequately, (left very long) and the fur between her pads was not trimmed at all on 2 paws, and poorly trimmed on the other two. I found out that it was the first day, for the groomer she was placed with. When I dropped her off I had discussed the nail trim as being important. Tika is a professionally trained, and very responsive, medical-alert service dog. I asked to speak with the grooming manager to no avail. (My concerns about the state of her nails and the wetness of her fur were not even reviewed by the trainee's supervisor) THE DOG WAS DRIPPING WET ON HER CHEST. I paid for the services at the front register and asked to speak with the store manager since the grooming manager was not there to be spoken with. After greeting the man who came forward, I said, "I think people should be informed when it's the groomer's first day..(he interrupted me here) to say, "It was just a bath" to which I said, "I don't care if".... To which he interrupted me again, as he dramatically "flamed-out" and turned on his heel saying "Well if you don't care, we're done" he literally put his back to me and walked away, as I said, "What do you mean we're done?" He said, YOU said you don't care. "WE ARE DONE!" without turning around he walked away. I'm pretty sure the grooming department is having some issues with staffing, but it should never be taken out on the customer, or the dog...it's not a good look. I would love for the Regional Manager to review the surveillance footage of this encounter. It was Sunday, September 10th at about 11:50 am at store #2493. read more

I really like this PetSmart. The service is good, and the store is always clean. I also like this store's convenient location. Everything was easy to find when I was here last time, and there's always a friendly staff member if you're having trouble finding something. Parking is pretty good at this location. I always like being able to get in and out quickly. Although I've never used it, I hear that they have curbside as well. For all of our dogs' needs, this will remain one of our favorite stops. Hands down, best ever grooming my dog has received. Not only was Gretchen super sweet and great with my dog, she gave her the absolute cutest hair cut she has ever had! Most places I have been to in the area would shave my dog down completely and the haircut would look incredibly choppy and bad. On top of that, they charged me $70+ and added extra charges for things I did not ask for. This is my first time coming to Petsmart grooming, and I will definitely be bringing my dog back to Gretchen every time, she just gets it! read more

I've only shopped here a few times. Never used their day care or vet services. They have a fairly decent selection of products, especially in the animal care section. Prices are pretty much full retail price so don't expect to necessarily low prices, but their location and convivence make up for it. The store is still clean but has developed a cluttered feel which I guess that's the tradeoff for having a wide selection. I've noticed that PetSmart and Petco seem to have the same toys and food. Maybe one or two unique items, but I've found more variety online. What turned me off for today's visit was the donation money grab. Not only did the cashier hit me up, but then you have to decline the credit card machine. I realize it's the holidays, and the cashier is just doing their job, but I just needed medication for my dog. Should have been a quick in and out. read more

We have been taking our dog here for grooming for the last 5 years, and service is always good! Completely satisfied and no complains there. This is in regards to a manager there named "Topher." I was here with my family last Tuesday, around 8 pm. There was a long line forming and only one cashier on duty. She was having issues with a return that a customer had apparently purchased through paypal. How do I know this? Because Topher was called over, and very loudly and condescendingly explained her paypal situation so that the entire line of customers could hear it. I felt so bad for the customer. She kept apologizing to everyone and looked embarrassed. Because of the long line forming, the cashier asked something along the lines of if she could ring up on another register. Topher once again, LOUDLY berated her and said she only has one cash drawer assigned. She looked like a dog shot down at a puppy mill. Finally, he took the customer to another register, and the cashier asked him if he needed his keys he left at her register. Yet again, LOUDLY and VERY SLOWWWWLYYYY he said "NOoooo.... I WILL GET THEM LATER." He has zero patience for his own staff, let alone his customers. I felt super awkward even witnessing this entire interaction, and my family agreed. *this is strictly grooming department related, the Banfield inside is terrific* Long story short 1) schedule a grooming appointment, petsmart asks me to move it to 9:30 am from 10 am, I'm fine with that. 2). Show up the morning off at 9:25, salon is dark and closed, sign says 10 am open. Other associates are minding the store as always, so I'm confused. 3). I ask the associate in the back about the salon, who responds with "well the sign on the door says 10am" ........ Why are you scheduling appointments when no one is there to actually TAKE THE APPOINTMENT. If I say "hey, be at my house at 1 pm", I don't show up at 230 and think that's alright. Again, the Banfield Vet spot is great (5* for them) but the grooming department...be there when you say you will. Simple as that. read more

Always a great listener when it comes to how they look. She is patient and so sweet with them. Last time I took my Labradoodle to this salon, I was called after they had him for 3 hours, and was told that the groomer had had an emergency,and it would be another 2 or 3 hours if I wanted them to finish working on my dog. I told them I didn't have that much time to wait because I had other plans and would not be able to pick him up 3 hours later. I then said I would pick him up right away but also would not be paying for an UNFINISHED JOB. The next time I went to book an appt, I found out we had been deemed 'unbook-able' in their computer system. Today I received an unsolicited call from the Fullerton location, they called me, and towards the end of the call, she realized that there are comments for my pet. Basically didn't do her due diligence before making the call. Was never that impressed with either salon in the first place, but both were conveniently located. Just tried to drop my dog off for day camp and was turned away because my vaccinations did not have an "expire date" printed on his records. I had 4 pages of his full records with all dates of vaccines given and it's pretty common knowledge that Bordetella needs to be renewed every 12 months so the girl working couldn't put the dots together and realize that his expiration date is 1 year from his receiving date. When I originally made my appointment they didn't ask for "expire dates" to be printed on records, only asked to make sure our pup had specific vaccines. We adopted our pup this year so he wasn't due for any vaccine renewal until early 2022 and the shelter we got him from didn't provide the expire dates. We needed our dog at day camp since we are having our apartment inspected today. Either way, an absolute waste of time. Normally our experiences with PetSmart are positive we get him groomed thru both PetCo and PetSmart and we've never had issues with his vaccine records until today. Obviously the TINIEST details matter, so just make sure you have expire dates on your records before bringing your pup. read more

Today I took my shiba inu in to grooming to get the furminator shampoo procedure done. I dropped her off at 11:30 and she wasn't done until 3. First thing, I wasn't happy with and always am not happy with at Petsmart grooming. This is why I don't take my Bichon there anymore- he is super sensitive and whines. They are just in the cages way too long. This is the 2nd time bringing our shiba and it will be our last. So I pick her up at 3, and the girl who worked on her was so sweet, but did tell me that the special comb used with this furminator technique got too close to her skin (she completely admitted it was her mistake) and the poor dog now has bad brush burns on her skin. (Most of her torso) I didn't blow up or get angry cause really, what would it fix? She felt horrible and I didn't want her to feel worse. They not only comped the grooming- as they should have. But they offered to take her to their vet. FIRST of all- this should have been done RIGHT AWAY after it happened. The vet tech who looked at her told me it looked like bruising. WHAT?! Good Lord, I hope the vet doesn't say that. Cause I will march right out of there and pay to go see my own vet. I did make an appointment to come back to their doctor tomorrow morning, cause I wasn't going to wait 2 hours to see the vet. Needless to say, the one star is for how kind and apologetic the girl (and the manager) was- I really did feel bad cause she was clearly so upset that this happened. Pics of my dog's skin are below. UPDATE- this morning, I took Suki to the Banfield vet, and they were very nice and attentive. The vet reaffirmed what my husband and I thought and said her skin as of now looked just irritated and there was really nothing topical they could do to treat it. We will just monitor her. I appreciated the friendliness and promptness of my visit. I give an extra star back for the friendly service at the vet. read more

My dog that we had for over 12 years got Kennel Cough twice in his life and that was at a Pet hospital in Newport when we first adopted him and three weeks ago at this location. Kennel Cough is very contagious between dogs and they do warm to get the vaccination. I just never thought he would contract it here since the symptoms tend to be very heavy respiratory issues and they would probably send away a dog. Well, my senior dog contracted it here and we took him to the doctor for antibiotics and medications (250+) and he recovered but was never really the same and he passed last weekend. Long story short-Either get the vaccination or avoid this location for day care/hotel care. read more

They're always organized, on time, and most importantly polite and friendly. The groomers are skilled and thorough in their work. Debbie is awesome. She has a lot of energy and had a bad experience at Petco. I believe the girl doing the grooming was Gabriella. She was nice told me what to expect and was done in a couple hours. My dog Rio was all clean and supper happy to get picked up by me to come home. My wife and I have taken our dog here 3 times for nail trimming and for our last time. They completely botched her nails, split every single one, and didn't communicate this at all yesterday. I understand that dogs might not be cooperative and it can be difficult, but our dog is very passive. Even then, just communicate the issue. The person that did her nails is named Debbie. Luckily, we took our dog to ShamPaws in Placentia the next day and they were able to help; they were shocked at the state of her nails. They used a hand grinder, something Petsmart said they've never been able to do with our dog. 10/10 recommend ShamPaws for grooming and nails. read more
