The negative comments are shocking and I have to assume they're a bunch of sensitive karens who need a red carpet rolled out and thrown sprinkles at while talking to them with your head down in worship lol. I have coming here for some time now. The owners are absolutely wonderful and have helped me resolve countless issues that many vets couldn't. You can ask them any questions and they will answer as many as you want to ask them. I ask a lot of questions and people can become impatient of me but not these folks. I have come to rely on them for advice on my pet needs. For example, one year, one of my dogs wouldn't eat and I tried everything! I came here and asked Mike what he thinks and he said (in my own words) sometimes, dogs have caloric overload and the food is too much. He suggested to give 1/4 of the usual serving and from there work it back up to regular serving. I asked countless people including vets and no one gave a solution and Mike's suggestion worked and I continue to use it to this day. They care immensely for the animals and foster dogs to help out. Pick up strays from the street and help find owner, etc., etc. Comparing the negative comments to my actual experience throughout the years, I have to go with the tangible. Walked into this store as I needed to find one in the area, my boyfriend, dog, and I had a great experience and would recommend this to many people. We did end up buying raw but prior to me doing that he was nothing but nice to us. He was even going to send us home with a sample for us to try. He is so easy to talk to, you can feel his passion and love for animas radiate off of him and his words. He gave me great advice and recommendations. The store feels so friendly! There is so many options for fresh, healthy food, as well as treats, toys, and essentials!! I will NEVER go back into this store. Thank God I know of another well ran shop to purchase the upscale higher end dog food brands. The owner is VERY arrogant, unapproachable and condescending. He speaks down to customers quickly rather than listening to them and feels his opinion only matters. I saw 2 customers leave within 15 minutes of being in the store. Either didn't make a purchase because he was so rude. I feed my dog the high end brands and feel very well educated on these foods over the years. I definitely don't shop at big box dog foods stores as I expect quality for my beloved dog so he lost my sale and I drove 5 miles to purchase what I needed elsewhere. So much for saving time and checking out this store on a busy day. Went to book a self service dog wash and was beyond disappointed. First off the room in the back was sooooo stuffy and hot. There was no ventilation or AC - not sure if it was broken or turned off but it was uncomfortable. They do provide shampoos and towels but the towels are very rough and felt like sandpaper. Checking out was the biggest disappointment of all. They charged me $25 for what only took 10 minutes. A total rip off. Just go to Pet Supplies Plus for a clean and affordable dog wash. read more

I have been a faithful customer for two years. I listened to the owner and tried to do what he said regarding feeding my two dogs. My dogs hated cold raw food but loved dehydrated food. I went to buy another bag a few days ago and was told it was not good that I needed to buy raw and when I did my dogs refused to eat for four days. I returned the box of frozen food intending to go back and buy the dehydrated food my dogs love. I was humiliated by the owners treatment of me and shaming me. I was shocked as a long time customer how I was treated even in front of other customers. He felt free to be rude, belittling and shaming in front of other customers. I was traumatized by the whole incident and of course will never be returning. So sad to be treated this way. read more

so glad I randomly found the store when I dropped my stuff at the UPS next door. They have a great selection of healthy pet foods. The owner Mike is very knowledgeable about dogs and their needed nutrition. And I know for a fact that my dog (17yrs old) has gotten much healthier after switching to the raw food / freeze dried balanced diet. She had dermatitis, pancreatitis, enlarged spleen and liver issue shown on her blood panel. (Under care of some other family members, they've snuck human food and table scraps to her without my knowledge) But just being on a strict raw food/freeze dried balanced diet for a year, all the blood work returned to normal, and she is more lively and no more skin issues. Still running around at 17yrs old. (Goal is see if she can reach 21) If that doesnt convince you, I don't know what would. Feeding your dog the right food may seem "expensive" but I have to disagree, because vet bills cost more. And that is inevitable. Plus, not feeding them right is really animal cruelty. They will be sick and suffer from your ignorance or trying to cut cost. You've assumed responsibility of a living thing that cannot make a choice, do the right thing. I see that people complain about how the owners are rude. But I think they are just very passionate and want you do the right thing. Nothings wrong with that. Have an open mind. I had a question for the owner of this store. It was simply if there were any good food to buy instead of raw because we can't afford it. Instead of being kind and just answering my questions he was condescending, and unkind. He said things like "Not being able afford to feed a 7lb dog 5 months after you get her is a cross between absurd and pathetic. This is a first in 5 years." Because I mentioned we had to switch to kibble. I was honest with him about how he was being condescending and told him that treating clients and humans with kindness is important too. This was his response "I'm kind to animals, always. I can only take so much of the humans." This was a back and forth that continued. He has a passion for dogs and I completely understand that. If I could give a ZERO rating I definitely would.... I encourage everyone to read the other one star comments as well before I get started. My wife who is 35 weeks pregnant went in today to use the self washing station. On her way out to pay (while sweating and generally tired from washing the dogs), the store owner gave his same tired militant lecture to my wife about what to feed our dogs because one is overweight. He held her credit card and wouldn't let her leave until he was done belittling and demoralizing her about what we feed our dogs. He outright said we don't care about our dog and want her die. He even referenced my wife being pregnant by saying "you'd never feed your kid whatever you're giving your dog". She literally had to BEG to leave, while alone and pregnant in an empty store, while getting torn down by a huge man. Im writing this as a result of getting a phone call from my crying wife as she left the store.... This is bad enough, but what the owner didn't realize is that we spent a substantial amount of money on HIS recommended food for an extended period of time to help with our dogs weight. We followed the portion recommendations and never deviated from the meal plan. Our dog had digestive issues and NEVER lost weight... We are on a new food and the dog has since had more energy and lost a couple lbs. Moral of the story is, not only is this guy a total a-hole to his customers, he boarders on predatory behavior and didn't even give us good advice on how to manage our dogs weight. First off, he kept saying that he only sells food meant to have a dog live 30+ years. I was not aware his dogs are guinness world record holders. Please. I came here to find a brand I feed my dogs not be given a lecture of what the store owner wants me to feed them. Why carry the brand if you're going to discourage your customers from purchasing it? Sounds like a dumb idea. The brand I feed is on Susan Thixton's The List so I don't need the lecture. He has brands that have made dogs sick while the one I feed hasn't. Unless this place is going to give me $2000 per month (that's barley scratching the surface) to feed their choice of food to my ENTIRE pack of dogs and pride cats then he should shut it. It's either feed what I want or surrender them to the shelter so they can be fed Purina or Pedigree. The shelter is the better option for you, Pet Sav? How is that saving an already rescue pack and pride? The owner thinks I only have one pet when they were told no I do not have one pet. They think it's just that easy. The owner is a complete and utter mean face. I went in to talk about supplements to my dogs diet. This is because I figured my dog was getting older I should maybe supplement his diet. Well the owner is someone to talk down to you every step of the way. I mean, I've never been so frustrated by a retail establishment in my life. Looking at the reviews, how slow his business is, and how nothing has a price. He is a shady business owner. I see complaints about him making excuses for the price and yet gets rude about it. I came in here with my boyfriend to use the wash station to give our pets a bath. When we walked in, we were greeted by the owner who kindly led us to the back and showed us where everything was. There were plenty of shampoos, soaps, and conditioners to use for the pets, as well as a dryer to use afterwards. They do have towels, but they are a bit rough, so I would recommend bringing your own. This place has lots of pet supplies ranging from raw food to harnesses and leashes, with the one washing station in the back. After we went to check out, the owner was talking to us a bit about how he rescues dogs and uses some of the profit from the store to help animal shelters in the area. He even gave us a discount upon hearing we had rescued both of our pets from shelters. We also asked him about switching the pets over to a raw diet, and he was very kind and informative, and spoke from his personal experience. He was encouraging us to do further research and recommended a documentary we watch so we make a thoughtful and informed decision. You can tell he really cares about rescuing animals. Overall, we had a really great experience here and would definitely come back and purchase things/use the dog wash again! read more

What smart business owner would verbally attack a loyal customer, saying "you are a headache; I don't want to deal with your obsessive compulsiveness!"? I have spent over $1500 here in the last 4 months, mostly on Small Batch food. For the first time, I went back with a product that was not the same, inferior to the same product I had bought many times there before. The owner (Mike) insisted that it was fine, and was not interested in hearing what I was trying to say. He said, angrily, "I will exchange it this one time, but never again!" I left the store with the product, and contacted Customer Service for Small Batch. They quickly replied to my email and validated my concern with the product, and explained why it was different, and not up to par with the quality they like to provide to their customers. The product I tried to return was from a different plant (their sister site), that does not usually ship to our region. I went back to the store to see if he had a box of the product that was from the usual plant (where all of my previous purchased product had come from), and he verbally jumped all over me. He told me that he did not want my business, and that he uses his profits to save animals. Unfortunately, he will have about $400 less per month toward his profits from me. I had always been friendly when I went in there. Unfortunately, he doesn't put prices on any of his merchandise, so I always had to ask the price of anything new that I wanted to try. Most people want to know what something costs before they buy it. Once I went in and he was busy polishing his shoes, not even wanting to be interrupted to see if I needed any help or had any questions. Another time, I was looking for something in a freezer, not finding what I was looking for, and looked at him to get his attention, and he said to me, "you can get it yourself." So he does not believe in the saying that "the customer is always right," and he really does not know how to treat a customer who has given him a lot of business. read more

This is great business! Today we were visiting the shop Nextdoor and decided our puppy needed some treats. We asked for a specific brand of bully stick and when Mike told us he didn't carry it we walked away. Awhile later we came out of the hobby shop and and find this goody bag sitting on our car. No no no, brought my bassethound and had to listen to the owner reprimand me because I didn't have the correct harnest for him. My dog got IVDD and had to get a 10k surgery. I spent over a year rehabilitating him so he can walk again, which I was successful in doing. My dog is my child, I'm aware there is a better harness out there and kept telling him but he would not stop. Oh, and the special custom harness he was referring to is thoousands of dollars and sometimes people can't afford that. Had to get a tone to get him to drop it and leave me alone. The dog wash bath was nice, but nothing special. I didn't enjoy that there wasn't an elevated surface we away from the tub the dry him, had to do it on floor. There was also no hot water after 2 minutes. But I was already started so that was unfortunate for my dog who was not happy and shivering the whole time. There is no face wash for dog like I've seen at other places, and no after bath perfume spray. It was very mediocre for the price you pay. I think I paid 11 dollars but it was "half off" because I came early. So 22 dollars is definitely not worth it. I usually go to another place but they were closed on mondays so went here. I pay 13 dollars regular pricing for the usual place I go and everything that this place doesn't have is included. Was hoping to enjoy this place and use it as an alternative, but I will definitely not be coming back. read more

This is a nice pet store that is also a non profit as they donate a portion of their profits to help spay & neutering. Very helpful staff. Good quality food & treats. I brought my small dog for the do it yourself dog wash. It's a great deal. $17 for your dog, if you have more than 1 dog, the other dogs are $10 ( not sure if the dog is larger if the price is a lil more). They supply everything you need to bathe your dog. I bought some Salmon treats & a non BPA pliable chew bone. Only downside is they don't open until noon, but I imagine since the owner does rescue, maybe he's very busy w/ dogs in the a.m. If your dog is not dog friendly or is wary of loose dogs, be aware there are dogs loose inside. This guy there (gray haired ponytail douche, I mean dude) may know a lot about pets and pet food, but he knows zero about customer service and being a decent person.  He presents his info in such a condescending and off putting way.  I went in there this afternoon with my son to kill some time and maybe get a new toy or treat for our cat.  I saw these funky little feeding mats and asked him about them.  He immediately asked me what I feed our cat.  I told him Royal Canin and he started lecturing me on how bad it is and that it should be common sense to me to know this.  I told him that wasn't what I came in for (meaning the lecture).  He kept on going.  I said it again and he then told me that I knew where the exit was if I didn't want to hear it.  I said "bye!" and we walked out.  Dude was lucky my kid was with me or I would've had some choice words for him. read more

Pet Sav is one of those places I find myself rooting for. The owner is super passionate about dog care from dog nutrition to all dog well being. His 5 dogs are so calm and relaxed every time I go there with my dog to get her washed. She would normally go nuts with that many dogs she didn't know, but she is so calm when she goes into the store. In fact, she just loves to see the owner (she normally does not like men). I love washing my dog at the self serve station. It makes washing her super easy. I also love to pick up frozen probiotic treats for her there too or a new toy. read more
