Pick up was seamless-they provided a box with wood shavings to get the chicks home. If I had one suggestion, it would be to increase their online presence for ordering chicks. Online viewing of stock/upcoming stock and purchasing would be amazing. They also sell everything you would need to raise baby chicks although you should already have your brooder set up with the heat plate on before you bring the chicks home so plan accordingly. read more

Everyone in this store is very nice - it's a lovely place to shop. This is my first time owning a bernedoodle and her first grooming. I learned I need be very specific. I only booked a bath that includes trimming her face so was not able to add a summer cut because they were very busy. The groomer said my puppy was being a "butt" (???) about having her face groomed for the first time so this is the best she could do until she gets more used to it. I appreciate that she didn't want to hurt her, but now I feel she still needs to be trimmed to keep the hair out of her eyes and I can't book a trim without paying for another full bath. I'm not the most conscience of dog owners, at least when it comes to grooming. My current brood consists of a short haired and a long haired shedder, so neither get to the groomers, the short hair just stays trim, and the long hair gets clipped at home. But my former poodle, now that one needed grooming, And waiting like I did, he always needed to be shaved because of matting. Now with the SO's yorkies, they get matted as well, so off to the groomers with this horde. The groomers here are nice, and they do a good job quickly. I used to frequent another place, but the dogs were always stuck there all day, which meant I was stuck near the house all day, since I didn't know when they would be done. Here, 3 dogs in and out in less than 3 hours. And they looked marvelous. read more

Wagon train as a one-of-a-kind little country feel feed store, pet store grooming and boarding and so much more. Margaret has been there running the show for over 30 years! She personally goes to the markets and buys everything and make sure that it is quality she has many items for the home as well and it's just a wonderful experience to enter her doors and look at all the beautiful things that she has and great items for your furry and feathered family members! She's a very kind and sweet person and this is really a great place to bring your kids if you want to do something fun on a weekend just to go visit wagon train and see the baby chicks etc. When I read a few poor reviews, to me it just reflects negatively that the people that wrote them must have in life, there is no reason for it but I guess you can't please everyone and some people just like to stir things up. I looked at the two foul people that spoke poorly about this great business and I saw that most of their reviews for other businesses were horrible as well so you really should consider the source before you judge the business shame on them! Really amazing customer service. I love this shop. We get fertilized eggs from them as part of our homeschooling program so that the kids can experience the miracle of life when it comes to seeing chicks hatch of the eggs. The people at this shop are really understanding and have a great protocol in place for what to do if the eggs don't hatch. It's chick craze right now probably due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Must pre-order your chicks if you want any. Go early even if you preordered because they do not put some aside for preorders that I saw. (They told me over the phone that that do) They may set some aside if they feel they are running out but when I got there when they opened, they pulled my chicks out of the general bin-they weren't put aside (I preordered) 3 stars because I feel they need to coordinate the information they give out to people better. You will hear one thing from calling in and then when you get there at the time they tell you, you are told something else entirely. Then they just shrug (in a nice way--none of the employees were rude or unhelpful) like saying sorry nothing I can do now. Some people drive in from very far away, I would think they would just do preorders and not have people wait only to find out that all the chicks are sold out by the 10th person in line. My advice for now is if you want chicks-PRE-ORDER them then go there when it opens to pick them up. read more

Thank you wagon train for letting me adopt the sweetest kitten in the world. Everything when smoothly on the adoption but I really think they should look at the medical papers and triple check that it's right before just giving the forms to people. For example my cat when we first saw him. We thought he was a girl cuz that's what the MEDICAL papers also said and that "she's" a dog....so when we submitted the papers the people said "oh yeah he's a boy" and it really switched eveything up. My only issue is that they should just have CORRECT information on everything of the adoptable animal before a potential adopter comes in. But that's all after the experience I was just happy to have Tobi Home. I ain't gonna lie I do see why people think the employees are rude. I used to go here many times a year ago and it's the same loyal people working for the boss lady. But they do need to step up their game of being polite and have a smile on their face for costumers. read more

Someone gave Ally a bad review on grooming and I just have to say that Ally is my dog's groomer and I wouldn't have anyone else! My girl Charlie is special needs and Ally not only understands her but takes excellent care with her and is very sensitive to her needs. Charlie loves her. She looks BEAUTIFUL every time she comes from Wagon Train. The store Wagon Train is very nicely kept and is very well stocked for a small store. They have many nice boutique items at reasonable prices. It's a great place to get a gift for a fellow animal lover. The staff is all very nice and friendly and helpful. All that being said, a dog groomer is a very personal relationship for the dog and the dog owner. If she didn't like Ally she could have requested someone else. read more

10/10 would recommend going somewhere else. As someone who was buy chickens for the first time, Wagon Train made the entire experience far worse than it needed to be. We preordered our chicks and were so excited on the day they were supposed to arrive waiting for the call we were told we would get when we could come pick them up. Eventually we called and were told even though we already paid there was no guarantee they would have our chicks. We raced down to the feed store to get them. While there we saw the most disorganized operation I have ever seen. If you have been in business for decades i would have expected some type of organization. The owner would snap at the staff then was extremely rude to a customer. The person helping us didn't know the difference between the breeds of chickens so so we left not feeling very confident we had buff Orpingtons. Then a few weeks later one of our chicks was developing very differently and I called to see what to do if we had a rooster and I got YELLED at because there was no way to tell. Now 3 months later that chick was indeed a rooster and another feed store helped me rehome him. I was appalled at the way the staff treated not only myself but another mom with children. I couldn't believe it. Buy your chicks from somewhere else. It isn't worth it to go here read more

I called on Wednesday asking for a specific breed of chicks. They said they would be in Friday, I didn't get off work until after they closed so I called for availability on Saturday morning and they said they were available. Got my son in the car and drove over right away! I got there in 20 minutes and walked in. No one greeted us or acknowledged we were there. Then when I went up to one of the ladies working I asked about the chicks so he grabbed someone else from the back. Sold out. What? I just asked 20 minutes ago and they had said yes. "You should have paid for them over the phone." Was her response. Maybe I would have if the person answering the phone had mentioned that. She offered for me to come back next week but by that time I didn't want to be there anymore. I went to a different place in Yorba Linda and was treated very nicely and they had exactly what I wanted. read more

Don't take your dog here for grooming - took my dog here a couple of weeks ago, ended up having to visit my vet to treat for yeast infection, most likely from the groomers dirty clippers. I called Wagon Train and was told that the groomers clean their tools at the end of the day, shouldn't they be cleaning them AFTER grooming each dog??? I will not return. read more
