I walked in and the smell hit me immediately -- like dirty dog feet. Not a clean or fresh environment. I saw the owners in the back washing an Australian Shepherd and using a regular blow dryer, which is very unprofessional. For double-coated breeds like Aussies, you're supposed to use a proper dog dryer to avoid damage or discomfort. If your dog needs real grooming or maintenance, this is not the place. At best, it might be okay for a quick wash, but based on the reviews and what I saw, even that seems hit or miss read more

Today was the second time we took our small 20 lbs dog to be groomed. Unfortunately for the second time the groomer cut the nail too short an I have blood all over my kitchen. Also the hair is not evenly cut. Finally all of my dog's whiskers are cut off, unbelievable. My mother and I are so upset. We will never go back. You have been warned. read more

Shirley is Amazing! She is the sweetest with my Sonny he is a puppy, so he was afraid of going to the groomers. I had different experiences with groomers. I just picked up my dog from this store and I did notice my dog is bleeding and I usually wash her after I pick her up so I saw the towel is red. They broke the nails too much so it's bleeding so bad. Do not take your dog there, she could have even told me she did that but she didn't say anything to me. My poor dog is limping and she has a lot of pain. Do not take your dogs. read more

My husband dropped off our 6 month puppy Mazzy to get groomed and she came back traumatized with a her butt and tail irritated. It's been 3 days and she is skiddish and not her happy self. Before her grooming she was happy, playing with toys just being a joyful puppy. She is withdrawn doesn't enjoy her walks in the park like she use too. I called the following day to express my concern because she kept licking her butt/tail area and she walked sideways because of the irritation. I so upset that I had to call. Lady/owner couldn't explain what happened and expressed kindness when grooming pets. Something happened to my Mazzy. Terrible customer service not even a follow up from groomer to see if Mazzy was better. Don't take your babies there the place is run down and the owner has poor verbal communication. read more

Looking for a groomer for my labradoodle. This is his first haircut so I want to make sure he has a good experience. I found this place on yelp and when I called the lady was very genuine. She said to come in the same day. I was excited that's they had same day appointments. Took him in and they immidiently took him back started working in him. I got a call a few hours later that he was ready. I was so amazed at the quick service and the fact that his haircut was exactly what we wanted. When I picked him up he was by the register running free and happy ! He was not caged and seemed to be enjoying himself. I'm so blessed to have found his forever groomer ! The services is quick, efficient and the prices are just right! read more

This AMAZING Salon deserves 10 stars! Shirley and her husband do a more immaculate, thorough grooming than I ever thought possible! When it's grooming time, I say to my dog "Do you want to go see Shirley?" And she gets SO excited, she practically does back flips. They love our dog, and are so happy to see her, and they treat her like a queen. read more

I took my dog to this salon thinking that she would look amazing. The staff was very friendly, but they didn't get any of the favors I asked! :( When I picked my puppy up about 2 hours later, She looked like a dog with a clown wig?! I was very upset . I specifically asked for them to shave my dogs butt and a small trim on the top of her head. Instead they gave me a clown wig (looks like iceespice ) and her butt was not shaved at all! I do not recommend this business. My parents thought I cut my dogs hair?! Bad experience!! read more

Look no further. This is the place where you want to take your dog for a groom. We have taken our dog here for about 6 or 7 years now. Although dogs never like to get groom, my girl is actually oki with this place. Because the owner is nice to our dogs and you know when your dog is not. They really take care of my girl, and she doesn't get scared. The owner is super nice and really knows what we want or need. The most important thing is that my dog is ok with her and trusts this place. I'm happy with the service and so is my dog. read more

Love Love Love this place, my mom's dog and my dog come here, they always look great !

Shirley always takes good care of my babies. I've recommended Happy Paw to my friends.

I took my 1.5 y.o. Long hair Dachshund here for a bath and nail cut only and she came back to me with her beautiful long hair tail almost nearly completely shaved off and her long hair on her ears was cut off!! It's not even a nice trim, It looks like they just took scissors and made a straight cut. It looks awful. We made it very clear don't cut any hair! nail and bath only and this happened. And they still charged us for the service. This place sucks. I'm so upset at how unprofessional this experience was. Now I have to take her somewhere else just to fix their mistake and see if someone can at least even out the ridiculous haircut. Don't bring your dogs here. Ugh! read more

Shirley was wonderful with our Emmy. We had taken our puppy to two other groomers with no success. We called Shirley first thing in the morning and were able to get her in the same day. Emmy was done in exactly the two hours we were quoted. She's so much more comfortable now with her shorter coat. The salon was very clean and tidy. We highly recommend and will be back. read more

They treat all guests and their pets with professionalism and care. You'll leave satisfied. I highly recommend this place.

I really hesitated to write this review but I feel obligated just by what I saw. We've been coming here over 5 years and have always been happy with the results. The groomer (lady) always has good things to say about our dogs. But after what I saw today we will never bring our dogs back. I went to pick up our dog and was in the front waiting for someone to come out. There were two men grooming a golden retriever ( I believe that's what the dog was) and yelling at the dog to sit. The dog apparently didn't sit because one guy hit the dog hard on his back. I was so shocked by what I saw I literally just wanted to run out with my dog. I'm so disappointed by this because they do a good job grooming but I will not trust that my dog is safe in their care if he doesn't do what they ask fast enough. read more

Sweetest lady ever runs the place. I've been going for 3 or 4 years now and the lady never remembers my name but she always remembers my dog's name. I think that's much more important since she's not bathing me. Even when they are busy they have time for my dog. They try to rush the job. Love them. Have recommended many times read more

This place does not disappoint! Highly recommend over any other dog groomer. I moved from Orange to South County 2 years ago and have tried a couple of places in SJC and San Clemente for dog grooming but no one even comes close to how great of a job Shirley at Happy Paws does. My dog consistently looks good every time I bring her here and Shirley is so loving and kind to the animals and clients. We just love her! Nice owner but our Golden Doodle came back bald! Mentioned to take off a 1/2" just a short trim and wash and he (Indy) came home ridiculous! Just make sure you clarify how much to take off if you're a first timer. A half inch is a lot at this place! read more

KEEP YOUR PET AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. We took our dog here to get washes several times and noticed that she was afraid to return. My wife dropped her off this last time and asked them to trim our dogs coat 1 inch. They shaved her and cut her skin in a couple places. When I called they denied everything and told me my wife asked them to shave her and that they didn't cut her with the clippers. If they would have admitted it I would have felt a lot better but they didnt. How else would my dog have sores on her skin? Unbelievable. read more

We were going out of town with our three dogs and I wanted to get them groomed beforehand. I called late afternoon and was able to get them in the following morning, which was super nice. Two of our dogs came out great. The third, a pomeranian and the only dog who got a haircut in addition to a bath, was a little uneven in spots. Also, she came back with no whiskers. As in, all of her whiskers had been cut off. Will not be returning. read more
