We've been coming here for our medium doodle about once a month since fall 2024, but today was our last time due to the price increase. I do wish I had done a review prior to this one so I could give it a fair chance, but it's basically just off of our final visit today. Basically, I'd give them 5 stars only for their (previously) affordable, high quality services, disregarding the impersonal vibe I feel from all the people who work here whenever I entered. Which I understood and brushed off every time. I knew we wouldn't be coming back due to them telling us up front how much this last bath & express service would be but had no hard feelings, dropped off our dog, still 5 stars. But this was only up until I came back and had my minimal interactions with a couple members of the team behind the desk. I came in, said hello here to pick up my dog, and I barely got a hello back, and the younger staff placed the card reader on the counter in a way that felt pretty aggressive, in my opinion. And as I mentioned, I'd usually brush all of this off, but today just felt extra awkward quite honestly. I wish the best for the groomers & owners. It sucks that the prices increased for us, but good for them overall if this is what will help maintain their high quality deliverables. Will definitely miss how my dog comes out of here clean & fluffy with a bandana on her for whatever season it is. To the staff that have worked directly with our dog (especially to the awesome tall white lady with the piercings), thank you so much for taking care of Toasty, ensuring that she felt safer and more comfortable enough to come back each time. She may be just another dog-client, but I'm sure she will miss seeing her groomers who are a piece of her entire world that she'll ever have. read more

I used to love this place, but when I visited again today, I felt the owner wanted to charge as much as she could. They charged my dog for higher price despite the pricing chart on the website. Without much change to the weight, I informed them that in the past my dog was charged with the thin coat density. On the website, my dog's breed is one of the examples of the short and thin coat category, and that was why they charged me the prior lower price in my past visits. For some unknown reasons, they gave me different incoherent excuses that made me feel they were going to charge higher today no matter what. The owner did not even see my dog but insisted that my dog has medium to thick hairs that she will have to hand dry her coat. When I picked her up, her coat was not fully dried... Despite the unpleasant conversations, my dog came back very cute. I was told they are going to increase the pricing for all very soon. read more

Took our puppy for her first grooming session. I checked out the reviews and this place seemed to be a great place to try out. I don't know how else to describe it except for the vibes were off in this place. I walked in and didn't get a warm friendly feeling about the employees working there. If I'm trusting my dog to a place I need to get that feeling and I did not get any good vibes here. The person that helped me was nice, but maybe new? She kept asking another person in the back questions about getting me setup for my new appointment. The lady who I'm not sure is maybe the owner or manager, was not friendly. She ignored the person helping me more than once. I left but I didn't feel at ease leaving my puppy so I waited about 1.5 hours very close to the business. When I picked up my puppy the cut was good she looks good. I didn't get any of the "friendly" vibes others raved about and that is important to me. Definitely not somewhere I will return to. They all do an amazing job on my dog son Teddy and he comes out looking perfect every time. This was my 1 year old puppy's first time at a groomer with other doggos. He's used to mobile grooming services. Immediately love this place! My dog and I will be working on crate training since my dog had anxiety in the kennel. We've taken our doodle for the past year and everything has worked out great up until recently. Our last visit resulted in a consequence and my dog came back with fleas and a sore on his nose. This last visit, our doggy had quite of bit of knots so I asked them to go ahead and cut them as necessary. The staff agreed and notified me they would call me if they were going to take longer. Long story short, they called to notify me that it would take longer than expected because of the hair length. I picked him up after I received the text and once I got there the staff member told me he did not do good which surprised me! She proceeded to tell me that either I get him to go more often to have him get used to them or they can no longer take him. She said he attempted to bite the staff (which is weird), peed and pood in the cage and had to shower him 3 times! DO THEY NOT TAKE THEM OUT FOR A POTTY BREAK?! OR GET A SMALL DRINK OF WATER?! When we got home my poor doggy lasted about 10 minutes drinking water because of how thirsty he was! Besides this, he came back with an ugly sore on his nose and now has fleas!! Poor doggy was running around everywhere trying to scratch, yikes! Additionally, while I was waiting to pay, other clients would call in for an appointment and the staff were being extremely rude while putting the person on hold. They would say things like if that's a bad dog we're not taking them in. Tell them we're not taking them if they're bad dogs! OMG talk about projection, if this is not your passion please don't do this as a living. These poor pups deserve better. And of course they charged me more than quoted because of how long it took too. Which is not an issue, I'd just like more transparency and better care for the doggies. Im am a very understanding person but a lack of transparency and an ugly attitude are totally my sign to speak out. My partner was also upset and suggested I call to let them know and to cancel our next appointment and all they said was 'okay'. Didn't bother to ask questions or apologize. Definitely not coming back! I do not like to leave negative reviews anywhere, especially a woman owned business but come on guys. Our samoyed loves to go swimming, which is a terrible idea. It's sometimes impossible to keep her out of the pool. With her double coat, and blowing coat, it's always a recipe for disaster. Our dog unfortunately had some mats and was in desperate need of a haircut. Pet Strands was able to accommodate her and get her looking SO good. I've gone to numerous groomers with my husky Nala over the years and always have been told they can't service her because of her numerous mats. They always try to shave her which I know is not best for her. I've been bringing her to Pet Strands now for about two years and they've been amazing! I was impressed and grateful for the time Heidi spent on the phone with me as I booked my first appt. My doodle is VERY anxious and I explained my fears and concerns. Heidi listened patiently and offered an opening with her sister Heather this afternoon as there weren't that many dogs at that time. I am SO GRATEFUL! They gave me an estimate before I left and told me it would probably be a couple of hours, which it was. The facility is off the street but easy to find tucked away in the complex. My pup and I love Pet Strands! They're online booking system is super easy and convenient, and they've taken me in for same day appointments. They do a great job with my 82 pound German Shepherd, and the deshedding treatment they do works wonders on his coat! My dog is my sidekick and leaving him with others is really hard for me (and for him too sometimes), but I know he's in good hands with Pet Strands. The bandanas they put on him are a cute and welcomed gesture that I really appreciate. It just highlights how dapper he is :-) I used to take him to a groomer that is very close to my home. It became clear that my dog prefers Pet Strands based on his overall demeanor... he seems to be more eager to go inside and seems to miss me a little less when I take him to Pet Strands. He's always so calm when I get him back, whereas he seemed more anxious to see me with my other groomer. If my pup is happy, I'm happy :-) As far as covid-19 precautions, they have a good system going where they'll meet you out front prior to escorting your pup inside. We are so happy with Pet Strands for our two rescue dogs It was recommended to us by the rescue group that helped us get one of the dogs it is obvious everyone there loves dogs. We just moved to orange and needed to find a new groomer. I called quite a few locations and most were closed or full. When I found this one it seemed to be reasonable. I took him in (which he is an excited puppy) and mentioned he gets excited and might bark when he sees other dogs. He got groomed which they did well. It took 3.5 hours. Which I'm not sure why it took so long and clearly a bath does not take that long. So clearly he was crated for majority of that time. After arriving to pick him up I was greeted with a very kind gal who had me pay and add gratuity at that time. Once that was done they brought my puppy out to me and the groomer greeted me with comments about my dog needing training and telling me he isn't obedient and was barking at dogs (which I told them he might do) after I said he's been to training and I'm not looking for advice she proceeded with telling me I should get him neutered so he isn't so excited. I personally do not appreciate anyone who has only spent a very very short amount of time with my puppy on how to train and medical advice for him!! After we arrived home I noticed he wouldn't stop licking his paws. When I finally checked them out I noticed two small open sores on each paw. Which those were not there before he arrived to the groomers. When I called to kindly share this information with the company', because I'm aware things do happen and I mentioned it is something I just wish would have been mentioned to me if something happened to him, and she was defensive on the fact that they didn't touch his paws and she doesn't know what happened. I sent a photo of the wounds and I was told it's strange for it to be on both paws and telling me it didn't happen there. When clearly he didn't hurt both paws within a 5 min drive home. I truly didn't appreciate that the owner who I spoke with was not apologetic what so ever on the phone and gave a slight "I don't know what you want me to do about it" attitude. You'd think you would want to keep customers and furry friends happy. Not to mention their pricing based on hair type and weight did not match what I was charged. Needless to say I will not be returning here. I'd rather take 3.5 hours to bath my puppy in the backyard and get drenched then worry about him getting hurt or be stuck in a crate for such a long period of time. If your experience has been different do not stop using them based off my first and only encounter. read more

Wonderful experience!! Very responsive to questions, even late night texts! Our dog recently had surgery on her knee and that leg was shaved as well as a part of her back and a front leg where the IV and pain meds were given. We tried to even out the patchy fur on our own but then she looked like she lost a fight with a lawn mower! Plus she was stinky! Lol The usual place we take her was getting too busy to even answer their phone so I thought I'd try Pet Strands. I'm glad I did. I was apprehensive to leave her with strangers again and with her healing leg, but the staff here was great. They were attentive and caring to my needs and reassuring. Hello Trust me all the one star reviews are accurate, I use to take my dogs here until there was an issue with the fact that they cut/shaved my long haired doxie and you aren't suppose too and now her hair/fur has never grown back correctly and the owner was completely useless and didn't want to make any accommodations or help correct the problems. They messed up appointment times. Trying to say I showed up on the wrong day even though I added the date and time into my phone right in front of them into my calendar and verified with the women that was helping me that day. I tried to speak with the owner and she just stood there with this dumb look on her face. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. There are much better groomers in this area where your dogs will be treated much better and the owners will actually help you if there is an issue. Pet strands won't even let you inside the business (not sure if that has changed). Sandy's grooming and Sham Paws have been great to deal with and my dogs are so happy when we arrive to drop them off and when I pick them back up. Both owners Julie and Kim are easy to deal with and they are good to my furbabies, don't waste your time of money at pet strand and don't expose your furbabies to that place and their employees. They (pet strand) also couldn't keep any help when I was going there each time I tried to rebook with the same groomer that helped me they would say oh sorry they no longer work here. First time taking my cat here for a bath and it was not an experience that I expected. 1.When I got the call saying that my cat was ready to be picked up I came to Pet Strands soon after. They put my cat in the carrier and I hurried home so my cat wouldn't get any more stressed being inside her carrier. I assumed that she would be completely dry however when I brought my cat home and let her out, I could see that the whole bottom of my cat was still wet. Not sure if this is considered normal or not but if I'm told that my cat is ready, I expect my cat to be dry and done before getting a call for pick up? 2. When I brought her home I noticed a huge flea on her! My cat didn't have any fleas but then suddenly had fleas after bringing her to Pet Strands. Unfortunately I wasn't able to spot the flea before returning home so I called them and told them about it. They told me there was a flea infested dog that came in that day but was adamant that the dog was kept separate from the cats. The staff on call tried to shift the blame on me by saying the groomers didn't see fleas and that my cat must have caught fleas after leaving Pet Strands. But do believe my cat caught fleas there one way or the other since it was literally the only place I took her to that day. They were nice enough to offer a free flea bath but I didn't want to stress my cat more. Staff was really friendly and their service was great but I think I'll search for another place. read more
