We've been coming here for our medium doodle about once a month since fall 2024, but today was our last time due to the price increase. I do wish I had done a review prior to this one so I could give it a fair chance, but it's basically just off of our final visit today. Basically, I'd give them 5 stars only for their (previously) affordable, high quality services, disregarding the impersonal vibe I feel from all the people who work here whenever I entered. Which I understood and brushed off every time. I knew we wouldn't be coming back due to them telling us up front how much this last bath & express service would be but had no hard feelings, dropped off our dog, still 5 stars. But this was only up until I came back and had my minimal interactions with a couple members of the team behind the desk. I came in, said hello here to pick up my dog, and I barely got a hello back, and the younger staff placed the card reader on the counter in a way that felt pretty aggressive, in my opinion. And as I mentioned, I'd usually brush all of this off, but today just felt extra awkward quite honestly. I wish the best for the groomers & owners. It sucks that the prices increased for us, but good for them overall if this is what will help maintain their high quality deliverables. Will definitely miss how my dog comes out of here clean & fluffy with a bandana on her for whatever season it is. To the staff that have worked directly with our dog (especially to the awesome tall white lady with the piercings), thank you so much for taking care of Toasty, ensuring that she felt safer and more comfortable enough to come back each time. She may be just another dog-client, but I'm sure she will miss seeing her groomers who are a piece of her entire world that she'll ever have. read more

I used to love this place, but when I visited again today, I felt the owner wanted to charge as much as she could. They charged my dog for higher price despite the pricing chart on the website. Without much change to the weight, I informed them that in the past my dog was charged with the thin coat density. On the website, my dog's breed is one of the examples of the short and thin coat category, and that was why they charged me the prior lower price in my past visits. For some unknown reasons, they gave me different incoherent excuses that made me feel they were going to charge higher today no matter what. The owner did not even see my dog but insisted that my dog has medium to thick hairs that she will have to hand dry her coat. When I picked her up, her coat was not fully dried... Despite the unpleasant conversations, my dog came back very cute. I was told they are going to increase the pricing for all very soon. read more

Excellent service. Can't say enough about them. Thorough, professional. Highly recommend

I've been coming here for a few years and can't recommend Pet Strands enough! Heather is so talented and attentive - I completely trust her with my dog Coda who is usually super anxious but allows her to groom him. My dog Skippy was separated from his family when he was just a few months old. They said he kept on destroying their shoes and didn't know what to do with him. Not wanting to know what the alternative was to adopting him, I decided to take him in. Since then, I could feel him longing for something whenever he stares off into space. His eyes tell a story of love, loss, and desire. He was rejected by his original family, and I can see the pain in his eyes. As time passed, so did his fur. And as his fur grew, so did his apparent melancholy. I knew he wanted something, and I felt an ache in my soul knowing I was unable to provide it for him. I cried every night knowing Skippy wanted his original family when his family is with me. I took him to Pet Strands in the hopes of temporarily curing him of his emotional ailment. Would it work? Hopefully. But I've taken him to other groomers before, how would this be any different? With profound gratitude, I am surprised to see that Pet Strands was indeed different. After picking Skippy up, I noticed his uplifted spirits. For days, weeks, and the occasional month, his attitude exuded a radiant energy that I haven't seen in a while. After all this time, he wasn't longing for his original family, he just wanted a great haircut graciously provided by Mallory (highly recommend her btw). He now smiles at me, but only whenever I give him treats. But hey, I'll take what I can get. Skippy no longer feels despondent. Instead, he feels pure joy. From that joy stems his excitement for the next time he gets another haircut at Pet Strands. Through Pet Strands, Skippy has found fulfillment, purpose, and empowerment. Pet Strands is love. Pet Strands is life. read more

Love Pet Strands -- and our dogs love it, too! The groomers are wonderful, so gentle with the dogs, and make them look so handsome. I just got my old hag of a chiorkie (16 yrs old!) groomed with the fairy pup princess spa. She looks amazing, smells beautifully and I can tell she just feel good all around. I have tried a couple groomers in the past and my poor Canella always came home a little traumatized. The first time I picked her up from Pet Strands I could immediately tell she was at peace there. Still a little skittish from her past experiences but noticeably calmer. She struts around after her appointments with Heidi like she knows Heidi just hooked her up. I'm so happy I found this place!! I've tried a few of the best places in Anaheim hills and Orange and haven't felt more comfortable and satisfied as I do from Pet Strands. They all do an amazing job on my dog son Teddy and he comes out looking perfect every time. Heidi Is a great communicator and keeps me in the loop during his appointment if she needs to do something differently (like he's matted in his ears I have to go shorter) which I wholeheartedly appreciate. A bad haircut can make your dog ugly lol anyways 10/10 in customer service, quality of work and overall value. Thank you to the whole team for taking care of Teddy! read more

They do a great job with our bulldog! He always smells so great and comes home with a cute neckerchief each time.

Took our puppy for her first grooming session. I checked out the reviews and this place seemed to be a great place to try out. I don't know how else to describe it except for the vibes were off in this place. I walked in and didn't get a warm friendly feeling about the employees working there. If I'm trusting my dog to a place I need to get that feeling and I did not get any good vibes here. The person that helped me was nice, but maybe new? She kept asking another person in the back questions about getting me setup for my new appointment. The lady who I'm not sure is maybe the owner or manager, was not friendly. She ignored the person helping me more than once. I left but I didn't feel at ease leaving my puppy so I waited about 1.5 hours very close to the business. When I picked up my puppy the cut was good she looks good. I didn't get any of the "friendly" vibes others raved about and that is important to me. Definitely not somewhere I will return to. Also, I was asked if my puppy was current on vaccinations but was never asked to provide proof. read more

This was my 1 year old puppy's first time at a groomer with other doggos. He's used to mobile grooming services. Immediately love this place! My dog and I will be working on crate training since my dog had anxiety in the kennel. They were so kind to communicate that to me and educate me on how I can help him be more comfortable next time we come in. All staff were so kind a collaborative with each other. They all seemed like such a great team. You can see them all communicate well with each other. Plus it's so reasonably priced. They also did so great explaining their services to me clearly after listening to my needs. I was so nervous taking him not knowing what to expect. I'm so impressed!! And I love that you can see all the dogs that they're working on right when you walk in. It's actually so beautiful to see all the dogs lined up like that. We found our groomer! So happy it's close to home! Beyond happy!! read more

Guinness looks so perfectly goofy, I'm still laughing at him. I asked for this cut because my wife and I saw a poodle cut similar walking around our neighborhood. Bailey (one of our other dogs) didn't recognize him at first and barked at him when we got home! Haha thank you. We've been going here for a couple of years now since we moved to Orange. The staff is always amazing and the work is flawless. They pay attention to the details and let us know if they find or notice anything out is the ordinary. My dog has floppy ears and is prone to ear infections. Heather has caught a few ear infections before they got too bad! Thanks for caring so much for my pups! read more

We've taken our doodle for the past year and everything has worked out great up until recently. Our last visit resulted in a consequence and my dog came back with fleas and a sore on his nose. This last visit, our doggy had quite of bit of knots so I asked them to go ahead and cut them as necessary. The staff agreed and notified me they would call me if they were going to take longer. Long story short, they called to notify me that it would take longer than expected because of the hair length. I picked him up after I received the text and once I got there the staff member told me he did not do good which surprised me! She proceeded to tell me that either I get him to go more often to have him get used to them or they can no longer take him. She said he attempted to bite the staff (which is weird), peed and pood in the cage and had to shower him 3 times! DO THEY NOT TAKE THEM OUT FOR A POTTY BREAK?! OR GET A SMALL DRINK OF WATER?! When we got home my poor doggy lasted about 10 minutes drinking water because of how thirsty he was! Besides this, he came back with an ugly sore on his nose and now has fleas!! Poor doggy was running around everywhere trying to scratch, yikes! Additionally, while I was waiting to pay, other clients would call in for an appointment and the staff were being extremely rude while putting the person on hold. They would say things like if that's a bad dog we're not taking them in. Tell them we're not taking them if they're bad dogs! OMG talk about projection, if this is not your passion please don't do this as a living. These poor pups deserve better. And of course they charged me more than quoted because of how long it took too. Which is not an issue, I'd just like more transparency and better care for the doggies. Im am a very understanding person but a lack of transparency and an ugly attitude are totally my sign to speak out. My partner was also upset and suggested I call to let them know and to cancel our next appointment and all they said was 'okay'. Didn't bother to ask questions or apologize. Definitely not coming back! I do not like to leave negative reviews anywhere, especially a woman owned business but come on guys. I get accidents happen and there are always learning moments, but come on man not cool. I wonder what happened with the services? Has this happened to anyone else? Any other grooming recommendations? Thanks read more

Our samoyed loves to go swimming, which is a terrible idea. It's sometimes impossible to keep her out of the pool. With her double coat, and blowing coat, it's always a recipe for disaster. Our dog unfortunately had some mats and was in desperate need of a haircut. Pet Strands was able to accommodate her and get her looking SO good. When this happened the first time, another groomer said we needed to give her a buzz cut, so we did. Pet Strands was patient and able to get her looking amazing with minimal hair lost. We will be repeat customers to keep our dogs looking fresh! read more

I've been taking my dogs to Pet Strands since they opened years ago. They are amazing and I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else. Save your money and your pet and go somewhere credible. Bad enough that you can't go into the bldg (covid is over) all business is done outside, these are children straight out of grooming school pretending to know wtf they're doing. They partially clip nails than charge extra to file, so they're sharp & ragged. You know, dangerous for your animal to scratch with! Then, they don't even brush your animal out after bathing?!?! I found 2 mats in exact places I told them about. The whole place was a waste of $$. Now I have to take my dog, who still has long nails and an unfinished groom to another groomer. Bah! Waste! read more

I've gone to numerous groomers with my husky Nala over the years and always have been told they can't service her because of her numerous mats. They always try to shave her which I know is not best for her. I've been bringing her to Pet Strands now for about two years and they've been amazing! They do an amazing job of deshedding her and giving her a beautiful blowout. She's always been very anxious going in to groomers and she is getting much better about walking in without being dragged or forced. Not only do they do a great job but their prices are affordable as well. I highly recommend Pet Strands ! read more

I am absolutely thrilled that I found Pet Strands Grooming today! I was searching for a gentle and knowledgeable groomer and Heather is that and more! I was impressed and grateful for the time Heidi spent on the phone with me as I booked my first appt. My doodle is VERY anxious and I explained my fears and concerns. Heidi listened patiently and offered an opening with her sister Heather this afternoon as there weren't that many dogs at that time. I am SO GRATEFUL! They gave me an estimate before I left and told me it would probably be a couple of hours, which it was. The facility is off the street but easy to find tucked away in the complex. I felt comforted by the fact that you can see the groomers and pets being cared for as you walk in. It was obvious to me that this business had nothing to hide! They are legit and professional! When I came to pick up Annie she was excited to see me, of course, but she wasn't a frothing stress case as she's been in the past! Heather is truly a PRO! She is calm, knowledgeable and patient! I didn't give her much to go on as far as what I wanted my dog to look like! I just wanted her to be cared for and safe! And she was! Mats were removed; she was cut nicely, and came out a happy girl! Thank you Heidi and Heather! read more

Pet Strands Grooming is a wonderful spot. I originally found this spot, because it's a block away, but it would be the spot even if I were miles away. My little pup is scared every time we go to the groomers, but they do a great job of handling him and he always comes out looking fresh and oh so soft. The pricing is reasonable and they are experts at their craft. And cute little bandanas come attached and a little paw balm to go. Logistically their web experience could be improved in booking appointments, but I find it easier to just give them a call to find their next available time. Thanks to Pet Strands for all the past groomings and future groomings to come. read more

My pup and I love Pet Strands! They're online booking system is super easy and convenient, and they've taken me in for same day appointments. They do a great job with my 82 pound German Shepherd, and the deshedding treatment they do works wonders on his coat! My dog is my sidekick and leaving him with others is really hard for me (and for him too sometimes), but I know he's in good hands with Pet Strands. The bandanas they put on him are a cute and welcomed gesture that I really appreciate. It just highlights how dapper he is :-) I used to take him to a groomer that is very close to my home. One week, they were particularly busy, so I brought him to Pet Strands after reading Yelp reviews - thanks fellow Yelpers, you really came through. It became clear that my dog prefers Pet Strands based on his overall demeanor... he seems to be more eager to go inside and seems to miss me a little less when I take him to Pet Strands. He's always so calm when I get him back, whereas he seemed more anxious to see me with my other groomer. If my pup is happy, I'm happy :-) As far as covid-19 precautions, they have a good system going where they'll meet you out front prior to escorting your pup inside. The whole system prior and during covid is such a breeze, and I'll continue to take my pup here. read more

We just moved to orange and needed to find a new groomer. I called quite a few locations and most were closed or full. When I found this one it seemed to be reasonable. I took him in (which he is an excited puppy) and mentioned he gets excited and might bark when he sees other dogs. He got groomed which they did well. It took 3.5 hours. Which I'm not sure why it took so long and clearly a bath does not take that long. So clearly he was crated for majority of that time. After arriving to pick him up I was greeted with a very kind gal who had me pay and add gratuity at that time. Once that was done they brought my puppy out to me and the groomer greeted me with comments about my dog needing training and telling me he isn't obedient and was barking at dogs (which I told them he might do) after I said he's been to training and I'm not looking for advice she proceeded with telling me I should get him neutered so he isn't so excited. I personally do not appreciate anyone who has only spent a very very short amount of time with my puppy on how to train and medical advice for him!! After we arrived home I noticed he wouldn't stop licking his paws. When I finally checked them out I noticed two small open sores on each paw. Which those were not there before he arrived to the groomers. When I called to kindly share this information with the company', because I'm aware things do happen and I mentioned it is something I just wish would have been mentioned to me if something happened to him, and she was defensive on the fact that they didn't touch his paws and she doesn't know what happened. I sent a photo of the wounds and I was told it's strange for it to be on both paws and telling me it didn't happen there. When clearly he didn't hurt both paws within a 5 min drive home. I truly didn't appreciate that the owner who I spoke with was not apologetic what so ever on the phone and gave a slight "I don't know what you want me to do about it" attitude. You'd think you would want to keep customers and furry friends happy. Not to mention their pricing based on hair type and weight did not match what I was charged. Needless to say I will not be returning here. I'd rather take 3.5 hours to bath my puppy in the backyard and get drenched then worry about him getting hurt or be stuck in a crate for such a long period of time. If your experience has been different do not stop using them based off my first and only encounter. read more

Wonderful experience!! Very responsive to questions, even late night texts! Our dog recently had surgery on her knee and that leg was shaved as well as a part of her back and a front leg where the IV and pain meds were given. We tried to even out the patchy fur on our own but then she looked like she lost a fight with a lawn mower! Plus she was stinky! Lol The usual place we take her was getting too busy to even answer their phone so I thought I'd try Pet Strands. I'm glad I did. I was apprehensive to leave her with strangers again and with her healing leg, but the staff here was great. They were attentive and caring to my needs and reassuring. I brought our Sheepadoodle here after a really bad experience we had with our other groomer. It had taken me a few months to find someone to trust, but I'm so glad I found Pet Strands. I didn't catch the receptionists name, but she was extremely friendly and made the check in process for a new client so easy. Then, Heidi came out after evaluating Atticus and spent over 10 minutes explaining the best treatment for him due to his fur having mattes from his harness. She was very professional and gave me tips and advice on how to maintain my pups coat in the future, which was unexpected and definitely appreciated! They even sent me a text picture of our guy once he was done and Heidi came out to discuss her findings after his groom. I felt like they actually cared about my dogs well being. First time taking my cat here for a bath and it was not an experience that I expected. 1.When I got the call saying that my cat was ready to be picked up I came to Pet Strands soon after. They put my cat in the carrier and I hurried home so my cat wouldn't get any more stressed being inside her carrier. I assumed that she would be completely dry however when I brought my cat home and let her out, I could see that the whole bottom of my cat was still wet. Not sure if this is considered normal or not but if I'm told that my cat is ready, I expect my cat to be dry and done before getting a call for pick up? 2. When I brought her home I noticed a huge flea on her! My cat didn't have any fleas but then suddenly had fleas after bringing her to Pet Strands. Unfortunately I wasn't able to spot the flea before returning home so I called them and told them about it. They told me there was a flea infested dog that came in that day but was adamant that the dog was kept separate from the cats. The staff on call tried to shift the blame on me by saying the groomers didn't see fleas and that my cat must have caught fleas after leaving Pet Strands. But do believe my cat caught fleas there one way or the other since it was literally the only place I took her to that day. They were nice enough to offer a free flea bath but I didn't want to stress my cat more. Staff was really friendly and their service was great but I think I'll search for another place. read more

Edit: wow, after reading all the bad reviews it's very clear the owner takes absolutely no accountability at all, and is constantly shifting blame onto the owners. That's a huge red flag. They have reviews they don't like removed from Google lol. That's both sad and unprofessional that they won't allow people to post their honest experience unless it's positive. They don't even do all the services they offer in their packages, my dog has never once had his ears or teeth cleaned. It took me a while to realize it was even part of their package that I had been paying for, I had never made an appointment online I had only ever done so over the phone. They never once told me that was part of it, they charge for stuff they don't even do. That's not okay...I had to go to their webpage to even see what each package offers. And no, y'all won't find this account in your system because this isn't even the email associated with it. But I've been here for the last 2 years, so I guess we'll see if they have this review removed as well. read more
